The adam myth has certain truths in it, but it is a jewish myth to explain our existence. There are possibly truth in these myths, which at first came from ancient Sumeria and Babylon, but at the time they were written down, became mixed with fairy tales. For example l believe Genesis 1 is a profound chapter and we can learn a lot from it. but Genesis 2 is slightly different. They all however give us a foundation for faith that we are made in the image of God to dress and keep God's earth. |
MuttleyLaff:l said that because the guy l quoted said it's affecting his christianity. |
Middleborn:The spirit is God, he searches the mind of God and is the movement of God, so the spirit knows all things. Jesus doesn't know all things in his human self , but in his subconscious self which is the Spirit he knows all things So jesus on earth only knew what the spirit revealed to him. Jesus at the beginning may have expected that God would make him king of the jews( sent only to the house of Israel), but it became clear to him that God had a bigger mission for him than that. Jesus knew that he would die but later on became fearful of the ordeal he was to go through and asked that the cup be taken away from him if possible( that again was the flesh speaking). When jesus prayed this prayer, the spirit would also have felt the pain of jesus from his human mind, and this was an emotional moment for God. ln the end, God could only send his angel to strengthen jesus, giving him the power over that suffering instead of saving him from the suffering as jesus wished. Jesus was a man like you and l but was very connected to his other self. |
Middleborn:You don't need trinity for your salvation, what you need is a worldview of the kingdom of God, the cross, and the mysterious resurrection. |
shadeyinka:Well l know that my definition of the trinity is not the orthodox one( and I don't care about that). My definition of the trinity is that there is the Father(the only true God) and both the son and spirit comes from the father. lf you use the analogy of body, soul, and spirit, you get more confused, because the body, soul, and spirit together make up one person and are not seperate persons. The bible is clear that jesus is the image of God and had the fullness of the Godhead in him bodily, so jesus had a dual nature of full humanity and full spirit, the difference is that his very spirit or subconscious self is Holy Spirit, so that jesus is now both God and man. So l believe in the incarnation of God's Holyspirit as jesus the christ, but not trinity(as defined by the council of Nicea). The difference between us and jesus is that the fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily in him, but together we are the body of christ. So on our own we have Holy Spirit in us but we are not God like jesus, but when we all come together as one operating through the spirit we become the body of christ( or the body of God on earth). |
Ladylite:Ok let me ask you a question: Are humans sexual beings or not, and did God create us this way? Notice that l am in agreement with you that we must guard our hearts, but my arguement with you is that the verse you quoted is a warning, it wasn't to make us feel guilty whenever we have sexual thoughts or we get immediately aroused, but to alert us to the danger that this could result to if we continually dwell on those thoughts, but scripture is not denying that those thoughts can come naturally. This is not about making excuses for sin, but reading scripture practically and humbly. |
Ladylite:The scripture you quoted is only telling you that sin starts from the heart. lt is thesame thing with murder, if you bear grudges and hate your neighbour without a cause, then it is as though you committed the physical murder already. As humans, these things happen once in a while when we see beautiful men and women, and jesus knows that. So your scripture would apply perhaps against excessive porn for instance. The scripture is just a caution to make us aware that the birth place of sin is the heart, so when we look at another man's wife lustfully, we must learn to guard our hearts against it immediately. But note that it says Adultery. |
Eazyclick14:Not everything in life is about sin. The question of masturbation and its effects can be studied by human science, and from that we know that it has both advantages and disadvantages. lf you masturbate and it destroys your body( the temple of God) only then can you call it a sin( if you want to use that word), if it causes weakness, memory loss or affects your sperm. If as a guy, you train yourself to last longer in bed through masturbation and experimentation with your penis, then this is helpful to your sex life, and l don't see why you should call it a sin as long as it is not done in excess But if you are addicted to porn and masturbation for no good reason other than your desires(lust of the flesh) then you should apply some self discipline by making it once in two weeks at least. ln general, masturbation should only be helpful to you, as a means of sexual release( once in two weeks) or to help against quick ejaculation or prevent medical problems, but it should not take the place of an active social or sexual life All things are permissible to me but not all things are required. |
The major question is who/ what is God? The closest analogy that makes sense to me(though still imperfect) is that of the sun. The Sun is a gaseous burning substance, but there is light and heat from the sun. The sun only reaches us through it's light and heat, which causes evaporation from the waters. Genesis 1v3, The spirit of God moved upon the surface of the waters. The Spirit is this mysterious light and heat which proceeds from the father. In the beginning (according to Genesis) there was the father and the spirit from the father, and then God made man in his image(that is to say God gave him something of that spirit) making him a living soul. ln jesus there was the fullness of that life giving spirit even from birth, so that the authors of the new testament could freely speak of the man jesus as though they were speaking of that same light(spirit from God) that created the world. ln some form of Jewish mythology they equated this great spiritual presence of God as an Angel( the Angel of Exodus), so the author of Hebrews( as well as John's gospel) corrects this notion saying that this is not an Angel, but that same spirit of creation who finally made his home in jesus in order to express himself to us, and seeks to dwell in us in a richer manner as well. ln the eyes of God only that which has the spirit is alive, anything without the spirit is dead because it would eventually pass away without the power for another life in it This is my understanding of trinity |
You are right op, but still it depends on your target, your advice applies mainly to would be software engineers, but to academic researchers, data analysts or scientists, l think Python and R still cuts the cake. lf we want to really concern ourselves with the concept of algorithms and data structures, then C programming language would be the best for that. C# and Java comes in for apps and websites. lt all depends on what you want to do. |
paxonel:okay so now that there is a kingdom of God, how do we live our lives now in this new kingdom? aren't we to follow the teachings of the king in this kingdom which is christ himself? for example live by the beautitudes and the sermon on the mount? jesus said for instance, that you are forgiven of your sins by God as you forgive others who trespass against you, he also said mainly to people go and sin no more. Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil which is sin and slavery, so we must sin no more and live by his commandments such as Do unto others as ye would have them do unto you Love thy neighbour as thyself Whosoever wants to do the will of God and ask for the Holyspirit, and is a seeker of righteousness, shall be filled, |
rottennaija:My man, eternal fire and eternal heaven are symbolic ways of teaching in the bible. jesus often compared the punishment of the wicked on the day of judgement to the fires of Ghenna( a refuse dump in Jerusalem with never dying worms) where symbolically the fires never quenched and the worms never die. The fire is an eternal fire prepared for the devil and all of the wicked, and fire in the bible is a symbol of God used sometimes for complete destruction, or for refining. Even jesus himself said everyone shall be salted with fire( Mark 9), all of these do not necessarily mean physical fire but a symbolic way of complete destruction or at other times for pruning. You must learn to read the scriptures with insight and their historical context. lf literal physical Hell fire was such a great teaching of the bible, how is it that you could only mention not more than 7 passages in all of the new testament which you think proves your point? What l understand from the bible is that the wicked would bear the punishment for their sins and every man would be judged according to his deeds, so it also makes sense that all of the wicked suffer differently in that state of symbolic eternal fire. God is not unjust to punish people infinitely for finite sins or like some have proclaimed for mere unbelief in doctrines. |
paxonel:Was that what jesus taught you? what did jesus himself say, to enter life keep the commandments, then deny yourself take up your cross and follow me. Stop interpreting the gospels by the epistles, rather interprete the epistles in the light of the gospels. Read the teachings of jesus and live your life in that reality. Jesus himself came to teach what the kingdom of God should be like on earth, his death was a foundation for that kingdom, so that by his own blood he bought for himself a multitude from across the world who would make up that kingdom. lf one doesn't practice what jesus taught, claiming that all he came to do was to die? how then can one claim to be a follower of the christ? |
paxonel:christ is the way in what sense? the end goal is simply to keep his commandments, this is the reason you are told to believe in christ in the first place. To believe that he has authority to give those teachings, and then obey the teachings, and secondly to share in the fellowship of his sufferings. |
jesus himself defined what it means to follow him... You must deny yourself, take up your cross, and then follow him. lt's active work, and involves building for the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is a reality on earth, and was meant to be on earth, in this world. |
paxonel:A Christian is a follower of the way, armed robbery and prostitution is not part of the way. The fact that christ is a friend of sinners simply means that he wants to call them out of those ungodly ways into his way( the way to the father). |
DAVIDMOE:How can a rich man burning literally in a fire ask for water to cool his tongue? does that make any sense to you? why does he have a tongue, seeing that he is a spirit? and do spirits get thirsty? would water satisfy them? Come on, this parable is not a teaching about hell but a warning to the rich pharisees who despised the common people, to let them know that in God's eyes they are the ones who are poor and hungry, lacking even a drop of the water of life( the word of God) while Lazarus representing the poor in spirit have the true wealth in the spiritual realm( the eyes of God) and hold the true legacy of father Abraham. lt has nothing to do with your doctrine of everlasting torture in a literal burning inferno. |
rottennaija:What does your question have to do with the topic my man? |
Hell fire is not even in the old testament, neither can you find it in much of the new testament. The clearest passage about the description of a so called hell in the bible is in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, and that parable if taken literally raises more questions than answers such as: 1) A rich man in torment of the fire having all the time to look up and converse with Abraham 2) Water was his major concern 3) The man though dead, obviously had a tongue that could take in water like living humans, he also could even get thirsty. When you combine all of these together, you then wonder why people use this parable as the proof of a so called hellfire after death. |
peterincredible:python 2 would no longer be maintained from next year onwards. |
ehinmowo:Oh nice, so how did you resolve it? |
ehinmowo:Well search on stackoverflow. One answer from there that may be helpful, is that you pip install pyqt5. This is the only answer l have seen specific to your problem. |
ehinmowo:Have you added the anaconda to your Path in Environment Variables? |
bunnae:The problem is that the word Data Science and Data Analysis are used interchangeably sometimes even by firms. SQL is a query language for database administration used in business analysis, data analysis and backend web development. Pure Data Science may involve all of data analysis( which may require SQL) as well as programming/ machine learning for some, while for others it may exclude the aspect of data analysis. But most people usually think that if you are a data scientist, you also know every aspect of data analysis. |
shegzhkn:you can download community version |
Electroweb:python is not a recent software, it's even older than java. |
Grandlord:lol yes coding is cool, but note that you just started and you are in for a long ride, but if you have the zeal, patience and time, l believe it would be worth it. lt could get frustrating at times, but it's super cool and no matter how frustrating, l personally find it more fulfilling and enjoyable than many things out there in my opinion, because coding is both art and science in one, especially the aspect of coding that involves creating new stuff. But note, that coding and/or programming is only an aspect of computer science, not all of it. |
Champjar:Hmnn, data analytics may just be more about tools like SAP, Tableu, PowerBI, SQL, Excel, and then maybe one of R or Python. |
bot101:Java is popular for enterprise level stuff simply because java has always been the default language in enterprise(java was revolutionary in the mid nineties compared to c++), and legacy code is important. Politics also play a role here. The belief that python is not scalable is a myth because there are so many large scalable softwares with python predominantly at their backends, such as Instagram, and Dropbox. Also popular websites like quora uses python predominantly. The truth is that it's not that python is not scalable, but it lacks static typing which is useful in large projects, but professionals in python who are used to dynamic typing can handle almost anything. However python is not the best for all kinds of software, and java also has it's problems. Note also that unlike C and C++, both java and python do not relate properly with the hardware. |
bot101:lol, we can keep going back and forth on this, but you can compare spring to django, and flask is a micro framework for static projects mainly. However, l agree that kivy doesn't compare to anything in Java, but that's it. lf you know java more, then use java, but relegating python as just an easy common language with limited use cases is definitely wrong. |
bot101:Wow you are the one without knowledge here, python is used for all of that and even more. For use, python like java is general purpose programming language with as many use cases. As for speed, python helps developer speed because of lesser boilerplate code. For computer speed, it's almost irrelevant, because many of the popular python libraries were written in C. Java only arguably exceed python in terms of it's static typing in large projects. Even that is a subjective arguement. Web backend....Django, Flask Mobile apps.. .Kivy( not like that of java, so java wins here only) desktop apps....Tkinter, PQt, etc Embedded systems....Python is one of the best choices for embedded systems after c++. Go do your research man. |
iCode2:l haved worked with Tkinter for some little projects and then played with django to an extent, but Pandas for data analysis has been my major focus. Learning Pandas and machine learning libraries like scikit learn didn't take me a long time(say a few weeks) because you can find almost everything on stackoverflow, and there are lots of structured projects already, but they both take a very long time to master and work with independently, you would still need Google and Stackoverflow for lots of things even when you master them. With django and flask, you would have to learn so many other things, you would definitely feel like you are out of the python domain especially with django. l started with structured projects on the internet, then began to personalize these projects and build upon them after a long time and then finally began to have my own little ideas. Practicing with structured projects on the internet is easy, but it could take you so many months to transition to the stage where you begin to implement your own ideas successfully and confidently. When you know enough to kickstart your own idea or build upon previous projects without slavishly following an existing project step by step, then you know you are making good progress, but getting to this stage on your own and without a work or school environment, is difficult and could take months or even years for some. By this time, freelancing on very small projects or a job or practice school with more project ideas would help. Even an online course with so many projects would be helpful. You have chosen the right part with html, css, javascript and sql. lt's best to begin with front end frameworks (in my opinion), and then knowledge of sql is vital for almost all backends. As for the java/python confusion, it's not that important, just begin with anyone, and if after weeks you think it's tough, try the other route. There should be no pressure to choose one or stick with one, they are just tools by the way, and you can pick them up anytime. But then if you are to learn php and laravel, why not perfect that first, and make money with that before worrying about java or python? |
