Two hours is not too much, afterall we sometimes queue for more than two hours to buy fuel. So doing same for Nigeria should not be too much.
Not if you are supposed to be at work, or have other engagements.

Well, I have mine and hope other Nigerians who havent gotten theirs make efforts to get their own.

I sure hope they have the resources to manage such a crowd; medically and security wise.

It won't take you more than an hour to collect the card, it took me less than 10mins, so anybody that has refused to collect his/her PVC till now is probably not planning on collecting and perhaps dead, cos I saw atleast 5 people that are dead on the pasted list(I registered beside my house, so we all know each other. Before person start to quote me) in other words, let the election go on as planned.
Begging your pardon sir, it took me almost 2hours to get mine.
Politics › Re: Should INEC Postpone The Election To Allow More People Collect Their PVC? by DaGC(m): 4:41pm On Jan 26, 2015
I understand the concerns of some Nigerians over this issue, citing the current security ish plus the current pre election violence and past records of post election violence, but I still think a post ponement of the elections would do more harm than good. It might bring chaos, destroy the integrity of the electoral body and our democracy.

I think an extension of the PVC collection deadline would be the best solution for now to allow room for more collections.

Politics › Re: Danger: Nigeria Election Tensions Raise Spectre Of Break-up! by DaGC(m): 3:04pm On Jan 23, 2015
In spite of political affiliations, I think we should all endeavor to ensure the integrity and sovereignty of our nation. Its not yet elections but youths have already resolved to violence. All these incites of 'bloody', 'parallel government', 'wrong political adverts', 'violence on rallies' etc are already fanning the flames. Irrespective of the winners of the coming elections, the political candidates will all be safe why the youths suffer the consequences. Lets try to shame them and work towards a peaceful election.

Say 'No' to any pre/post election violence.

I know wikipedia is not a quoteable reliable source because it can be edited, but at what age do you think people get enlisted into the NDA? Or are you saying the average Nigerian student writes SSCE at 20 or 25yrs??
Like I always say, we should all be objective.
Politics › Re: Mammoth Crowd Waiting For Mr President In Kano by DaGC(m): 3:07pm On Jan 21, 2015
It is acts like this by the OP that damages the public perception of the credibility of APC standards, promises, acts and decision making. This is a bad PR stunt. You not only peddled blatant lies but made other Nigerians to have second thoughts about the integrity of the APC because they already called them liars yesterday.

Its either you are pro PDP trying to deface the APC's public perception or you are wrong pro APC supporter who should apologise like prof did yesterday and restore the pride of the party.

Most people dont know the extent a bad PR can affect a person, company, body, ambition etc.
Politics › Re: General Buhari's Plan To Secure Nigeria by DaGC(m): 2:47pm On Jan 21, 2015
I am disappointed with most of the thoughts of nairalanders on this issue. It is clear most of them are not objective in their reasoning, but simply hate Jonathan just because he's 'Jonathan'.
The only thing not done or considered on that list is the boosting of morale for our troops. Every other thing has either been considered, done or still doing. But because it is said by their candidate, then he's the better choice.
We all know that election is next month, but it still doesn't mean we shouldn't be objective and honest with our reasoning.

Truly Nairaland has gone to the kids and matured idiots. Hopefully, after May 29th, sanity would return here.

@Barcanista a few months ago, I thought and told you that you were the most intellectually sound of the pro APC nairalanders, I admit now that I was wrong. Recent comments since the beginning of the year brought an epiphany. Such a shame.
Politics › Re: Buhari’s Abia Rally Dwarfs Gej's Rally In Abia [ Compare Photos] by DaGC(m): 10:01am On Jan 17, 2015
The camera angles make it an unfair comparison. The PDP photos were snapped to include Jonathan in it, while the APC photo focused on the crowd without Buhari in it. If Buhari was snapped interacting with the people as the PDP photo showed, then it would have been a much fairer comparison.

Politics › Re: Reps To Probe Apc’s Alleged Hacking Of INEC Database by DaGC(m): 1:33pm On Jan 15, 2015
Since, it was 'unanimously' adopted by the house (because I believe even APC representatives adopted the motion too), I think its welcomed, because its going to reveal 1 of 3 things. Either there is a threat to our election body or its political propaganda against the APC or the DSS is incompetent for not investigating properly before laying accusations. The end should reveal all.
Politics › Re: Reps To Probe Apc’s Alleged Hacking Of INEC Database by DaGC(m): 1:23pm On Jan 15, 2015
AdekunleBalogun:
I thought I was the only one who knew about this, an offline remote server is practically impossible to hack and even if INEC server is online it will be a VPN( virtual private network) one will go through hell to hack it depending on the security in short it also practically impossible. I thought DSS being a reputable organization and a security outfit should be able to understand this technicalities, if not APC will make them really look stupid in court.
Bros, forgive me if I'm wrong, but are you saying its "impossible" to hack some networks?
I don't think that there's a guaranteed 100% security solution in the ICT world.

Politics › Re: Cloned PVCs Cannot Be Used On Election Day – Jega by DaGC(m): 3:09pm On Jan 13, 2015
ogb5:
There has been a good electoral reform under Jonathan.

We now have a permanent voter register with biometric information embedded, this is quite good.

However, the system can still be compromised in the following way.
1. registration of unqualified people like children and foreigners. CPC used alot of children voters in 2011, APC might want to repeat it this year.
foreigners have always voted in the north, I doubt if that will change this year

2. Hacking of the voters register and duplication of the voters register. It is very naive of the INEC chairman to state that the voters card will be useless if duplicated. even as secured as bank debits cards are, people still duplicate them and use them successfully. Anyone who hacks into the INEC database will be able to get enough data on voters to duplicate genuine voters cards. they can even swap their own list of ficticious registered voters with the names of geniune voters in the database and disenfrancise the real voters on the election day. It will be very unwise for INEC to underestimate the potential threat from hacking of the database.

3. no voting has ever achieved 100% turnout, the unused ballots can still be allocated to a candidate, thereby changing the choice of the voters.

But the electoral infrastructure we have today is best in the history of the country and great thanks to Jonathan for it.
I have been waiting to share ideas on this issue with people inclined to technology and ICT. Because ever since the DSS made the allegation, people has resorted to calling them names, that they are liers, that Nigeria don't vote online etc. But the truth is a hack on INEC's database is a possibility. I don't know if the DSS is right, but its a plausible allegation.

The data INEC collected from voters during registration are stored on their database/archives. That way, when you come for election voting, your card reads the information supplied during registration to show if its valid before proceeding to vote. And since the information wasn't stored on hard copies, then a hack is possible.

Now, a hack on said database could be manipulated to include information and fingerprints of duplicate cards, so that on the said election day, when the card is presented, it has a valid entry on the database. And that's all. People with said cards can vote. Abi when you go for your registration, no be human being input your details into the system?

Now, I'm not saying the DSS is right or wrong, but its completely plausible for them to make that allegation, and it would be folly for us to just dismiss it as propaganda.

When it comes to issues regarding the Nigerian defense industry, one can only get detailed information and informed comments from experienced analysts on beegeagle's blog, not from amateurs on NL. Abeg o, some ignorant folks need to stick to their PDP vs APC brouhaha.

Imagine some people asking if a 3,250 ton Navy ship with helipad was upgraded with $8.5 million..A ship that "was once fitted with harpoon anti ship missiles, torpedoes, anti aircraft missiles , a 76 mm gun and other gadgets that complement a 3,250 ton frigate".

You lot need to research how much complete armament and control systems with real-time datalink technology and radar would cost before making uninformed comments. Do y'all even know how much a new frigate would cost?
Geez!!! Thank you!!! I was shocked at the ignorance of so many nairalanders. $8.5M and a whole lotta them are shouting foul play. Ignorant people trying to sound smart. Honestly I'm not the insultive type but I think a lot of nairalanders are dumb f.ucks.

Though you made ur point... But you're speaking as if he did us a favour..

He didn't do it, government did it.

So let's not praise to bastards cos they are performing below expectations...

Assuming you have an investment of $50billion and you have a manager over it, what do you expect from such huge investment?
You misunderstood my post. I didn't say he did it, I actually said the GEJ administration (the govt) did it.
The reason of my post was to stop misleading people into thinking that this administration did nothing, since this is a public forum. Most people here believe what they see here and they might actually think that the administration did nothing in the south south as the poster I quoted implied, that's why I gave him examples. I only wanted him to speak of what he's sure of on public forums.

Yes, I did read it.
He said GEJ did nothing in the south east, and that even the south south that he's from, he also did nothing. I wanted to point it out to his wrong so that he doesn't mislead people into thinking that the administration actually did nothing.

Even in d south south the man did nothing what did you expect him to do in the south east.
He is only good at empowering militants.

South east dreaming that gej will hand over power to them now that is clear that power is going to d north they're waking up from slumber.

Is it today you notice he did nothing in the south easthuh
The GEJ admistration built a federal university(FUPRE), a NIMASA dockyard and shipyard, a marine school (I think its the 1st of its kind in Africa sef, not sure) etc just in Delta state. Even planning an EPZ that's not been achieved because of communal ish. This na just Dela state o abi Delta state no be south south?

Don't speak of what you don't know especially on public forums.
