To really enjoy halo2 u need to play against others, 4-player halo2 is the stuff of dreams.

You will also enjoy the singleplayer game better once you face off against humans, because they will force you to play the game properly (believe it or not, you can finish the game even though you are playing wrongly- but it will not be interesting)

FPS are among the best games out there and you'll be missing out if you dont get in on the action! Because it *is* action! whoa!

If the studies in this thread

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=381462

Are to be believed, then 'scoring' a boy is more due to timing than anything else. Since boy sperm is weaker than girl sperm, if you bang your mama too long before she lays her eyin (hegg/egg/ovum/target) all ya boy sperm will be DEAD by the time she ovulates and the stronger girl sperm are still hanging around! OOOOh the humanity!!!!!  shocked

So if you HIT IT at the right time ONLY, and remain CELIBATE for the rest of the period, you got a better chance of hitting a boy!

If you BANG BANG BANG , AH JUS DEY GOOOOOOOO!!!! 24-7-365 then you are gonna get a GIRL!!!!

secondary factors are:

1) female orgasm: orgasm lowers the pH of the vagina, favoring the weaker male sperm
2) deep penetration: reduces the length of the journey to the ovum, favouring the weaker (but faster) male sperm

We have an  idea that the dude who 'pounds harder' with more 'strength and vigour' will get  a boy. This has (if the above is to be believed) both thruth and fiction:

a) a hard pounding mad muscle man is more likely to deposit the spunk higher up, favouring boys
b) a mighty warrior is more likely to get an orgasm from his wife, which favours boys.

However, some women dont orgasm when you batter them like ballistic missiles- they come when you are nice and gentle. Such a woman will probably get more booys from the guy that doesnt POUND IT LIKE IYAN

Also, a dude with a BIG KPACK will likely deposit higher up without the need for pounding. So more props to the LONG MEN out there cheesy

A BIG KPACK WARRIOR is also more likely to get an orgasm without the need to mix it up with VIGOUR!

so we can conclude:
Is not just BROKE HER HARDER LONGER AND MORE FREQUENTLY!!!AAAAAAGH! to get a boy! you gotta time it, then u gotta make her come, AND you gotta PLUG HER DEEP!

(sad story: after all this u can still end up with a girl! Well too bad! )

Personal opinion: I would rather have a girl because they are less stress! Take this from a guy who has had to do babysitter duty for EXTENDED periods of time and has interacted with lil kids enough to know say BOY NO BE YAM, if my wife has boys she is on her own ooooooooo  make she carry am go show mummy and daddy for village, me i dont give a ******

@realmajid

what TP is trying to say is that the Alaba boys will try to bamboozle u by trying to sell u a replacment US psu PLUS step-down. They will claim that the US 360 will not work with a UK psu. But this is, of course, a lie.

Like I said, beware of 419. Test everything and do not believe in Guarantees. Buy on credit if you can. Make sure the proper serial numbers are on the reciepts. But of course if uve bought from Alaba before, youll have no wahala.

@echowords

Yeah gold works. But you can't game on a starcomms line. Lags like hell. I also couldnt play DOA4 even on EVDO. lags to death. Starcomms has a latency problem, even on high bandwidth connections. I hear reltel has better pings, but cant substantiate that. Like I said, I use Live for Silver stuff- demos and Xboxlive arcade games/videos. Gold is only useful for online leaderboards. (and spectator mode, which is painful)

You got it upside down, vitastraka!

We dont choose our physical attributes! God does that for us before we were born. Macy Grey and Missy did not ask to be so butt-ugly in the face.

However we DO choose whether or not we have money! To an extent anyway. God makes it easier for some people and more difficult for others, but at the end of the day, Vitastraka could become richer than Bill Gates! However Vitastrakess will always be ugly, even if she spends all the money in the world on cosmetic surgery!

Men look at physical attributes because we want healthy child-bearers!

Women look at money because they want security, shelter and food for their children!

Even animals do that! Have you raised chickens before? Do the hens go after the biggest cock? No! Do they go after the KING who crows in the compound and owns all the land? Yes! Even stupid Rams/Sheep do that. Dogs, too. I've raised all of the above so I know! Its the boys that go after physical attributes, not the girls!

By the way, if Vitastraka can give the impression that he is a Leader of Men even if he has no money, women will still come after him!

@Tellyb.

There's no need to be rude. And please try not to make yourself sound silly in an attempt to appear smart- I can tell from your posts that you are a reasonable intelligent guy, but you risk labelling yourself otherwise if you jump to conclusions while accusing others of same.

1)

There's no such word as deconvert. Look it up in any dictionary. It is a word invented by religious extremists to somehow denigrate the choices of people who choose to convert from their own chosen religion. The correct word is convert. Using the word deconvert labels you as biased. I highlighted it for exactly that reason- had you chosen to look up the definition before responding to me you would have caught on and saved face.

http://mw1.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/deconvert

2)

Since I have determined that you are quite intelligent, I will ignore the second response on the grounds that you are probably assuming that I was providing an analogue to *your* question, and not the OP. I am however interested in hearing your take on the OP, since it is in fact, the issue at hand.

3)

Grasping the issue is not the case. I was responding to the OP, not to you. I have a perfect grasp of whatever issue I choose to raise, thank you very much. At no point in my post did I specifically refer to you or your question. This thread *does* have a topic afterall.

4)
Contention is between OP and TellyB's question, not between two interpretations of tellyb's question. I highlighted both possible interpretations for the reason that you responded to in 5,

5)
Once again I will excuse this response. I'm assuming that once you re-read, you will come up with a different response.

**
I don't see why someone will be happy to discover that there are people who have no clue about what his concerns are, especially if those concerns are religious!

'deconvert'? what the Hell does that mean?!

The direct accusation that informs my question has to be examined; and the Muslim either proffers a direct answer as well, or continue to bask in the misreadings that are epitomized in your post.
buh??!??  undecided

The question has a basis. When an honest answer comes, you will see it.
Hmmm. I imagine I wasn't clear.

Take this example: A yoruba traditionalist asks an ancient viking, "Is Thor really the god of thunder? He couldn;t be because the god of thunder is Shango!!!!!!"

A nonsensical question, abi? Because the participants share no common ground. Their religions exist in completely different realms of truth.

The same applies to Islam and Christianity. In Islam,, Jesus is NOT God. In Christianity, he IS. Simple.

EDIT:

Tellyb, I think I may have stumbled on the source of confusion. My statement on basis is directed at the OP question (Is Jesus God) and not your later question about false gods.

THAT question definitely has a basis ONLY IF you are asking the Muslims a question within the context of their own religion.

that is, you are saying 'according to your religion, are they worshipping a false god?' NOT 'IS THE GOD OF THE CHRISTIANS ABSOLUTELY FALSE??!?!?!??!'. The first form of the question is a genuine request for education about Islam, and the second form of the question is not a question at all, rather it is rhetoric designed to instigate an argument.

If an ugly girl with a flat arse and saggy boobs, and a childhood burn scar all over her shoulders called 'vitastrakess' asked you

'does this mean that vitastrakess does not have a chance?'

what will you say to her? whatever your answer will be to her- is your answer!
Christianity EtcRe: Post-is Jesus Really God? by dakmanzero(m): 8:27am On May 21, 2007
This question has no basis.

It only makes sense when you assume that Islam and christianity share a common context, which they do NOT.

Islam reasons within the contexts of the Quran and the Hadith

Christianity reasons within the contexts of the Bible and theological tradition (subject to sectarian variation)

Arguing will solve nothing, will simply cause more hate to be directed from both sides.

Instead of fitting square pegs in round holes, why not direct your ideologial debates at issues that affect our daily lives, in which a shared context can be found.

That way, if a Muslim were to convince a Christian that his religion has a better grasp on realistic issues, he may win a convert, and if a Christian were to convince a Muslim that his religion has a better grasp on realistic issues, he may win a convert also.

But saying 'My religion says Prophet Isa is NOT GOD! All who assocate human beings with God are commiting SHIRK!!!! BUUUUUURN~!!!!!!!' and raving 'Jesus is God the Son! Repent now or BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRNNN!!!!!!' is a wate of time because no-one is gaining anything.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Did Muslims Lynch This Christian Woman? by dakmanzero(m): 3:20pm On May 20, 2007
Religious violence is the worst because the perpetrators feel justified.

How else can you explain killing a defenseless woman. A woman. In cold blood. No matter how much you hate her, what about her children, born and unborn? Even if you feel prejudice towards women, you can never justify killing her. What threat does she pose? Who does she endanger? Unless you feel she has demonic powers, which brings us full circle to the issue of *RELIGIOUS* violence.

A friend of mine served in the north and this exact scenario almost played out. He actually took a book from a girl in the class and threw it out the window- a romance novel, but the girl easily spun the story until it transformed into a Quran.

A late morning and a tip-off were what saved him from an angry mob that was threatening to lynch school authorities unless they handed him over. He escaped safely to Lagos and the ZI had to practucally beg him to return. Even then he still lost serveral months, and I don't blame him. The principal of the school, by all accounts, was so terrified that had he been there he would have surely been handed over without resistance.

Reading about this woman I thought about my friend, that could easily have been him.

However, the way this article is written it can only stir up more hate. The crazed mob is always referred to as 'the Muslims' (read the article again. It is almost deliberate) and the people who risked life and limb, unlike the cowardly principal at my friends' school, to save the woman, were never referred to as 'the Muslims' even though one of them was the patron of the Muslims Students Society!

People, anyone who instigates religious violence, whether he is Osama or your friendly neighborhood mallam would like nothing more than to see the opposition rise up and take arms. Nothing short of full scale war will satisfy them. They hate the moderate members of their fate even more than they do the 'Infidels', because they see them as hypocrites and any Muslim will tell you that the penalty for Apostacy is Death. As a christian or a jew you have the right to life with tax payment, dhinni status, whatever it is they want to add, but as a 'hypocrite muslim' you are condemned to Death, and it shall be said that you are headed straight to Hell.

During the Sharia riots, many Muslim families were killed for harboring christian friends.

In summary:  Let no-one be blinded by these acts of violence. Let us call for the heads of the perpetrators and avoid playing into their hands by channeling our hate against what may be a large number of people that we interact with everyday.

PS (Before someone directs some comments or whatever at me, If you want to know my personal take on religion, hunt down the book 'the selfish gene by Robert Dawkins' and read it cover to cover. My thoughts on it are buried somewhere within. Of course my personal opinion is irrelevant when we are looking at the facts.)
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran by dakmanzero(m): 2:53pm On May 20, 2007
Hey DD, nice to see you here!

However it seems this touchy subject may have struck a few nerves! Your posts are a small departure from your usual calm and measured reasoning.

You made a good point clarifying the whole 'expulsion from Israel' thing, but quoting verses from hate texts created by a hate group and  silently implying that the view therein is one shared by a larger group isn't in the best interests of rational discourse, don't you think?

Quoting Hitler's cohorts only makes things worse. How much better to demonize your opponent than to represent him as an all of the Ultimate Lord Of All Evil Forever And Ever As Decreed By The Internet Amen (Hitler)

Also, the 75-80% of palestine=Jordan thing is really interesting to me! I was under the Impression that palestinians occupied the land that is now Israel. Of course I don't claim to be an authority on that subject. Can you kindly provide sources as a frame of reference? Googling anything palestine or israel just vomits a load of bigotry and hate-mongering.

Thanks!

@kliverpool

Just to straighten out a few things:

(a) The Iranian presidents words are not as you say. What he said was that the blame for the holocaust does not lie with those that are currently being punished.

ref: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/12/16/90524.shtml

(b) The Iranian president did not advocate that Israel be wiped off the map. He rather said:

"The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

Which is anti-Israel, as is to be expected, but not in a 'bomb em to death' way, more like a 'we are going to iraq to create a regime change' way.

ref: http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/print.asp?ID=5866

I'm not anti-Israel, neither am I anti-palestine. I only bear allegiance to two nations: the nation of my birth and the nation of my parents' birth. However I am against public misrepresentation of facts.

Whoa, realmajid, thats terrible.

At the moment the 360 is still a new/fragile console, so I still treat it like its made of glass, no-one should touch it, I'm not carrying it around, etc etc. Maybe middle of next year or early 2009 I'll buy a second unit that can be rough-handled.

The only solution I can offer is to take the unit to Alaba. Even if they cant fix it, theyll have leftover psu's from busted 360's that they may sell to you if you ask around and keep your wits about you (beware of 419).

When I mentioned starcomms, I was talking about a dial-up connection, yes it works. If you are a little network savvy, what i'll say is any connection that lets you ping an internet address *by name* should be OK. Most, anyway.

Seriously speaking.

zexyworm, I speak in short sentences to make sure my points come across clearly. Once those points have been recognised, the grammar can begin!

I am not an israeli citizen
I am not a zionist
I don't base my current affairs knowledge on Wikipedia, *alone*.

I see there's quite a bit of emotion in your response! Well, if you are a good natured person, that cannot be avoided. Afterall any concerned person will feel strongly considering the nasty deeds perpetrated by Israel every day in the middle east. However we must not let our feelings to cloud our judgement.

Be objective. Israel/palestine are not  arsenal/man u and we don't need to take sides. As a Nigerian, the only side you should take is Nigeria.

So on to your points:

1)

True, nukes don't have to be used. They are used in the way you describe, every living day, as a deterrent.  However the conversation topic is, will Israel blast Iran's Nuclear facilities off the face of the earth with destructive military force, and your point earlier was, they will not because of fallout. I say, fallout is not a problem because conventional weapons will be sufficient, as they were against Iraq.

2)

First you agree that american taxpayers have contributed to Israeli military supremacy, then you go ahead to claim that petty terrorist attacks by hezbollah are in any way equal to the strength of a nations' mechanized arsenal? I'm sorry but when the gears of war begin to turn 120 people will be just a drop in the bucket.

A prosperous nation places a premium on the lives of its citizens, and is likely to capitulate to demands from less comfortable folks who are prepared to lose more. This is how guerillas and terrorists 'win' wars against far superior forces. The 'winners' still find themselves in abject poverty, and all the 'losers' have to show for it are a few lost lives and a bruised ego. Nonetheless if things become do or die, the likes of hezbollah will be crushed in an instant.

3)

Your response is pure sentiment- no facts,  its nice to imagine that Iran will rise to rival Israel, but my friend I don't see that happening. At the moment the location I'm typing this from is a stones throw from Iran (equiv. 10,000 naira's flight). And having been there last week, dude. It ain't happening.

Oh, by the way, since my current location will be in the crossfire during an israel-iran war, I assure you, I keep myself abreast of these events! cheesy

@zexyworm

Israel does not need to use nuclear weapons to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities, so they will not need to deal with fallout.

Israel has faced an assault from all sides by all of its neighbours in the past, and defeated them all.

Israel retains military superiority in the region.

Israel has destroyed a nuclear facility in Iraq in the past, and faced no repercussions whatsoever.

We should not underestimate the power that Israel holds in the middle east.

babyosisi:
My point was that culture is dynamic,humans always seek to replace the  accustomed norms with better value
even in those cultures were breasts were exposed,they have since changed.
That's why we are humans.
Now that breasts are sexual objects,we choose to cover them up (some of us anyway) grin Our men now wear pants and not leaves.

Legitimising mistresses should not even come into play when the question of why the man needed the mistresses in the first place is still unanswered.
Marriage in my opinion is about a grown man and woman pledging to love and care for one another and raise children that proceed from the union not a one man planting his seeds in any and everywoman calling them his wives.

If these men are sincere,like Seun said,they ought to tell the first wife from the giddy up that Ngozika and Memuna are in line further down the road.
Many women today that stay in these ill-fated "unions" are devoid of choices,most have no means of their own livelihoods or scared of societal  booings.

Isn't it amazing,it's always the men that seem to promote and understand polygamy and call it our culture.
The women and children are the worse for it and their opinions ought to be sought.
There is something in it for that polygamous male,there is nothing,absolutely nothing in it for a woman.
@babyosisi

Note: I'd like to humbly request that you please read the entire post and please dont jump to any conclusions halfway. Thanks.

Taking the points one by one

1) Not neccesarily better value, just different. I assume your analogy is based on the idea that customs such as polygamy should be classed alongside the customs of primitive/savage cultures. While I am not in support of polygamy, I don't neccesarily think that you can sincerely do this without explicitly proving that we have a superior alternative in the modern world. While I have a personal preference for option (c), it would be uncivilised for me to discredit options (a) and (b) simply due to my personal preference.

As a woman, you obviously are in strong disagreement with the primary supporting assumption of (a) , which is that women are considered to be property. I am also in disagreement, but have to admit, not being the person considered as 'property' puts me in a position to be a little more objective.

Nonetheless you have to understand that to any culture that does not recognise the equality of women, polygamy as a solution seems to be so obvious it is almost stupid not to consider it. Rather that attempting to discredit polygamy itself, you should attack the root assumption and discredit the idea that women are somehow inferior.

2) Legitimising mistresses is the root of both options (a) and (b). Let me repeat that my persona stance is neither of them. However, understand that marriage is the root of civilisation, and for the reasons I outlined in my first post, the problem of impregnating women that are NOT your wife is a real one, and needs to be addressed by any civilisation if it is to progress.

Civilisations thrive or die purely on their own merit, they are not graded by any external yardstick. It just so happens that the civilisations that have survived today chose options a, b, and c as solutions to this problem. Whether we like it or not, polygamy and the western method have proven themselves valid solutions to the problem, however distasteful they may be

It is important however to note that the issue of suffering being inflicted on members of the family, while not addressed, did not prove in itself to be sufficient to destroy said cultures. This is what I mean by 'valid', I am not somehow vindicating the choices. It is akin to saying that the sharia law of cutting off the hands of thieves has been succesful in curbing the rate of petty theft in affected areas, while simultaneously agreeing that such a practice is inhuman and barbaric- by MY STANDARDS. To some people, killing a chicken for food is inhuman and barbaric. (Not to me. smiley ) To others, crippling a thief is common sense. Its all just a matter of perspective.

3) If the men are sincere like seun said, they would choose option (c), and so they do not factor into this discussion at all. Obviously to choose option (a) you must consider a woman your property (am I sincere to my laptop? ) and to consider option (b) you must have already prioritised your happiness above not just hers but your childrens'.

4) Yes, it will be men that promote option (a). Thats because not many women would openly claim to be a man's property, and those that ca accept that, will not go and shout it from the nearest mountain.

Thanks for reading through. Please please do not post a response that makes it seem as if u didn't smiley
FamilyRe: Why Would A Man Go For A Second Wife? by dakmanzero(m): 5:14pm On May 14, 2007
@babyosisi

walking around barebreasted was not part of the culture in all parts of Africa, and in the parts where it was ok to leave your boobs exposed, breasts were not considered a sexual object. Im sure that In the year 2199 if we socialise ourselves in that direction, ears could be the next sexual object (that need to be covered). I believe that Men's sexual orientation is as much a product of nurture as nature.

polygamy is different from keeping mistresses. It is the act of legitimizing mistresses so they and their children are protected by law. The children of your mistresses cannot lay the same claim to your property as can the children of your wives. Marriage is all a question of ensuring that your sexual relations are condoned by the state, and the woman you impregnate + her children are bound to you by law and tradition. Without marriage, few men would hang around to raise a child properly/pass on his belongings, and civilisation would not progress.

@nferyn

It is remarkable how I never find it easy to disagree with anything that you post. Understand that I am present in many of the threads that you participate in, but keep my mouth shut , because you usually end up saying exactly what I was thinking, but with much superior articulation.

In any case you are right, option (b) is more complex than my simplified explanation, but I believe I went into sufficient detail to put my point across- The western way of doing things is merely an alternative approach to working around the same unsolved problem.
