I pray not., constant military interventions in our political scene have thrown up evil people that are still in power or still controlling us behind the scene.

"Oba" was never a yoruba language. Oba is a Benin language, yoruba just adopt it.
Please don't even try to say the word 'Oba' is from Benin...

Yoruba people has Oyo, Ondo, Lagos, Osun, Ekiti, Kwara and Kogi states with proudly Yoruba's...Yoruba tribes in Republic of Benin have Obas who know they are of Yoruba roots and they are proud of it..

The ancestors of Edo Bini knows that they can't claim that Oba word at all.

i have always thought it was the yorubas(the ones living in Lagos) that first came in contact with the Europeans.

And the Europeans also lived long in YorubaLand(Lagos) before permeating other regions.

They stayed long enough in Lagos to establish the first mission school(Badagry and CMS)...so why weren't their surnames influenced?
Yes we have Yoruba people with names like Pierce, Young, Preston, Cole, Coker, etc in Lagos too

actually if you do your research then what you've said is true, before they were called the NPF they were originally used by the b:ritish in the mid 1800s to early 1900s to maim, terrorize and burn down assets and houses of people who opposed the british rule and they were mostly comprised of Africans that were not originally from the location called Nigeria or even west Africa.

BluntTheApostle:
I am not going to blame anyone because I don't know the whole story.

Maybe the parents had their reasons for rejecting the relationship; maybe it was even a good reason.

Sometimes, we become so much in love that we think our parents who are against the relationship are doing so for selfish interests.

Sometimes, we love just too much that we don't see the glaring problems with our relationships.

For example, some people are in abusive relationships without knowing it. Some women think that because a man has never raised his hand to them, then he is a good man. But what they don't realize is that there are subtle forms of abuse that would fool anyone who is deeply in love. Our parents can sometimes detect these problems and disagree with the relationship.

And for parents, you can always apply wisdom. I don't know how? But one would expect that someone who has raised a child to that marriageable age in life should have garnered a lot of wisdom about life.
The problem is as a result of OSU and OHU caste system in Igboland... It turns some into outcasts not fit to be married.

BTW, I understand OSU own, which one be OHU caste againhuh

A Minneapolis man has been arrested after shooting dead his wife, dumping her body in their garage then opening fire on two sisters next door, wounding one while she shielded her 18-month-old niece from the gunfire.

Jason Michael Mesich killed his wife Angela Lynn then put her body in the garage of their home in Minneapolis at 11pm on Sunday.

According to police, they'd had an argument about not having enough sex.

He then killed the wife and opened fire on neighbors.
