Now assuming this chick married that club toaster, how would she bring up her sons?

And most importantly, what sort of mother-in-law would she be??
I can't even begin to imagine ..I did not understand whether it was low self esteem, inferiority complex or just plain stupidity.

Maybe because I have always been allergic to drama but the most reasonable reaction to me even at that young age was to break up with him Abi how hard is that huh

I understand marriage is a bit more complicated but that example was just to show the mindset of people even from that young age.

My trainer recommended this, although I cracked after 2 weeks, i lost 5 inches around my tummy.

No fruits and no other vegetables other than green coloured ones, zero sugar!. Carbs restricted to only yams and sweets potatoes, no rice, potatoes or naija swallows. No juice or any sugared flavoured drink. If you are a coffee drinker, you have to give it up too............lots of green tea and avocados. Like I said, I cracked after 2 weeks and have not been able to repeat the feat and the inches i lost have not been gained back thankfully. If i could repeat it for a month, I go happy die
Yeah similar tips he hard small sha embarassed

But might just have another crack at it.i think I could do 2 weeks. Let's see how November goes

Lol honestly i can't,i even run away from people's fight.I was just trying to give many instances and one from my very good friend.

I witnessed everything,it was so dangerous when the mistress started stalking her and her kids. She had to do something.

Whether she dealt with her husband then decided to forgive him after she was driving a new ML that's her business grin grin but the mistress had her fair share also.Everybody got served!
Some people get mind sha cheesy I know some side chics take it to a whole different level sha.

I remember when I was in uni, I had one toaster (who was also toasting like 100 other girls cheesy) .his girlfriend abi is it 'wifey' would be eyeing and giving me attitude all over campus(we had mutual friends ) it was so obvious to everyone That I was not interested in dating the guy (he was a club boy and I can't stand womanisers ) but I could never ever get over the blatant disrespect that the guy would mete out to this girl eg telling her to get down from his car while trying to chat with me )and she would not break up with him and choose to be 'eyeing or giving me attitude' undecided all over campus when it was so obvious I was not interested. that was as a teenager o no strings, children ,marriage etc attached .that one na acid acid she for don dey pour for now lipsrsealed

Human relationships can be complicated sha.
Wow! You guys really had a nice long discussion. I initially thought Mindfulness was a gal. So you just wanted to pull the ladies strings.

We agree to disagree, bottom line for me is women need to stop lying to themselves(I actually have a post on that) and placating themselves that their husbands were snared.

That's crap. Hold your husband accountable but some can't because they were the side chick before marriage.[/quote]

Interesting debate

Edwife I can't imagine you pulling weaves though grin

My take wives should face their husbands as men rarely ever confront whoever their wife was cheating with.As for the mistress/side chic karma is a female dog so I personally feel wifey Has no business confronting her. Pulling weaves might be therapeutic for some people sha cheesy but not something I would do.

From personal observation with ex runs/aristo chics they tend to make the most paranoid wives ever wink guess experience is the best teacher cheesy

Lol! Sounds like you need a running companion, Dami.

D'you know I almost gave in to lethargy and nearly didn't go for my swim class? But I'm so glad I did. Just seeing the other tonned up and determined ladies in the water got me going.

Next Saturday, I'll take a pic of myself in my swimsuit and post (briefly) on here for you lot. Been planning to for a while, but just never got round to doing it. smiley
The struggle is real.lethargy does sure set in it takes a whole of will power to keep going. I have running partners but you know how it is sometimes with lil children and child care issues sometimes clashing.

Some of my friends in naija who have live in nannies, house helps ,driver ,washman were asking me when do I get the time to exercise? I said it's a priority so I make the time. My life is busy but if I can squeeze in a full hour (or more sometimes )to watch TV I can squeeze in time for exercise.

swimming sounds so cool.Doing varied activities makes exercising less boring and monotonous so seems your method is one to adopt.

What if i told you those wobbly bits will melt in time and exercise will only do a bit when they are still quite wobbly. I should know, I don't have love handles anymore but I want a six pack and my trainer has told me food can will take me there and exercise will only give me definition.
Yeah, that's what most trainers say I.e abs are made in the kitchen.

I have heard no carbs after 3pm,less sugary fruits eg bananas, red grapes etc helps. I did that for a week that is no carbs after 3pm but some days I still stumble. I don't have carbs after 7pm though and I hope to gradually get to the 3pm cut off.

You're right. The last lap is usually the hardest.

I've got a strict routine during the week (Mon - Fri) but on weekends, I tend to slack. Waking up early in the mornings before cockcrow on Saturdays and Sundays, when I just want to have a lie-in is a Herculean task. I only just about managed to get there on time today for my 9:30 swim class (oh, I've been moved up from Adult Improvers to Adult Advanced - yayy!!) and so missed out on doing my 30 mins sit up + 1 hr run.

Not easy but I'll get there. Dieting gets easier with time as you get used to avoiding certain foods too.

@Damiso: The clocks have moved back one hour na - so going for the early morning run isn't going to pose too much of a problem. smiley
I know efe embarassed it's the whole grey/cold look that autumn/winter has that makes it not so appealing. But I just have to drag myself out most of my work outs these days are mind over matter anyway cos I never feel like it but I just find myself doing it . I even go to bed in sports bra and running clothes sometimes embarassed so I can just get up and go embarassed needless to say hubby is not a fan of the sports bra in bed business embarassed cheesy grin

I been thinking it was just me. I rarely excercise now but I have portions control down to a tee.....certain foods are no longer consumed by moi and wait for it, I weigh 58kg now. I don't want to lose any more and my oranges berra not get any smaller angry

Wow you have really done well it's just maintaining that is left for you now .portion control is really the ish. I think one's tummy kinda gets used to lil portions,I could not finish most of my meals in naija cos I was always full up and I was so uncomfortable when I finished some.

Still exercising but doing alot more of abs (crunches ,push ups, planks ,toe touches etc) routines I need to get rid of some stubborn wobbly bits angry around that area.

damiso, I had to log in to comment coz of you. grin

I'm so happy and impressed with your results. I know it's a little weird, but seeing people embrace the healthy lifestyle (plus results to show for it) gives me joy.
I hope you keep it up (the food aspect) even after you reach your goal weight. You're awesome!

Oh, I have that pearl choker/neck band. Great minds shop for accessories alike. cheesy Love all your outfits too.
Thank you kiss kiss kiss for the compliments.

You are not weird at all . I know the feeling and I have a couple of friends that I am also encouraging and I feel so happy when they get results.

This thread and so many of you (efe, chilli, naijababe etc) also really helped in making that change .plus I am forever reading up on healthier choices .
It's good to have people who understand and get it as well self determination cos the comments I got in naija ehn grin I have a friend on the same journey who gets upset by them but I have told her just do you .Me I just get amused.I got
' I thought you would be bigger' ' is there food scarcity in London ' ' is your husband not feeding you ' 'were you ill' 'it's enough your head is bigger than your body '.etc etc grin

I also kept getting 'what diet are you on' and I can see disappointment when I say I am not on s diet per se.been down the diet route and while it works for some was just not sustainable and weight just came back on.

It's a change for Life and I know the benefits will spur me on to keep at it.

My husband had to tell me 'calm down its just a week' cos he could sense how horrified I was by the prospect of not being in charge of my meal prep while I was in naija embarassed grin

Lol! I think it was.

Either way, t'was really tasty. And healthy. cheesy Anyway, how've you been mami? And more importantly, how've your exercise regime and clean eating been going?
Very very well. Went to Nigeria so my exercise and food was disrupted a bit but I was able to manage my portions.have had a couple of 'off' days but as its a lifestyle change I quickly make amends.

My mum is so worried about me grin she thinks I look ill. I kept getting 'see all your bones' 'what is this ' . I never realised how much leaner I was until I had to put on a wrapper. cheesy

I have more 2 more KG to get to my target weight. I run a bit less now though and do a mix of abs/core,Strength training ,legs etc routines. I just find it harder to get motivated to hit the pavement when it's dark outside embarassed

Pic below is my progression from March up until September (L to R) and I am even leaner now.
