edwife:Haaaa sorry o no vex Not nice to stereotype but most of the ones I have met Na wa . yellow tight jeans, fishnet singlet top on those tearoses kain boat shoes plus the kain belt Idowuogbo talked about.bros we dey go war ![]() |
Na wa o all this on op dishing ,serving food? O ga o . Madam not really a big deal as I even think the cooking is the real stress. but oga sef no try if madam was held up doing something else. where is the camaraderie that a couple should have? All this rigid rigid 'I can never' 'I can't ' you must' why not dish the food and jokingly bring it up later. And that is on the part of both parties. Phew Life is not that hard. |
edwife:What now are you Congolese ![]() My office server is down I should be happy but am not babanla wrong timing ![]() |
Idowuogbo:Congolese men dress sense no be here ![]() |
C Ewuro4: hope you don't have them in all shades and colours like my mum does? Na to begin dey dash Salvation Army be that o.Just joking am sure you buy the good quality ones and you can still always wear on your Iro and buba ojare. One can't be ota aje and throw away good quality items.I have only two pairs (don't even know where they are) the one I wore on my traditional wedding and the one I wore at my daughters naming both bought courtesy my mums cajoling ![]() |
It is well with Light and I pray you are able to get all the help and resources you need for her treatment. Please try to bear with your husband sometimes stress allows us to lash out at the closest people to us. And that is you at this point. Will do a transfer tomorrow and let you know when done. It is well e hugs |
Very nice thread though old.. All this pepperless I live with don't just get it ![]() |

Kimoni:True sha ![]() |
Oahray:You are right jare. I wanted to use hire a nanny. ![]() Don't mind me I was speaking the OP's English. ![]() Spending time with your children is not necessarily a 'cultural ' construct don't mind all these people hiding behind 'African culture'. In the past life was communal and so even mothers had multitudes of people who were more than willing to take the children when she was not available but as life gets more urbanised and families become increasingly nuclear who else will take care of your child but you? Don't mind all these ego talks joor all these brothers will push pram taya if they live in the west and have to fork out £40 if their wife just needs to go out for 4 hours. Its because they think have one mother or sisters around that they are talking about one yeye ego.grandmas of these days are not smiling o dem sef wan chop their own life than to become your baby sitter |
Kimoni: true sha But that picture I posted is possible by working out and eating right. You just gotta squat baby ,do strength and ab exercises but I haaaate those two kinds of exercising so I don't know o .I was almost like that pre children ( I saw one of my uni pictures recently and the waist was like that even with the ikebe ). But my longer throat no gree me because me sef I know that it's not only the children that caused my weight gain make I no lie on the poor pikins All the almond croissant, pan au du chocolate, Pizza Hut,dodo and jollof rice get wetin e dey do for body. ![]() I know someone with 3 kids with that kind of figure. I know genes and childbirth are big factors sha and there is no perfect body shape. It's not easy jare and sometimes you just think wo as long as the body is functioning properly ojare, one should just thank God.The ultimate goal as always should be about being healthy and fit and a banging body is just an added extra. |
You pay/ask/beg someone to babysit or nanny your child. A parent can't 'babysit or nanny' their own child. So a father is simply taking care of his child when the mother is not around is the same way the mother does when the dad is not around. I also used to say 'hubby is babysitting the kids' but someone brought the use of the word to my attention. Granted some mums(to be fair some dads too) tend to be more reluctant to be away from their children for extended periods ( I know i say I can't wait to offload them but after 3 days am missing their wahala ) but a child or anyone forms a bond with someone they spend one on one time with.how y'all gonna bond with your kids if you don't want to spend one on one time with them? ![]() |
Now that I am a parent it really saddens me when I see children not having the basic necessities of life and even though OP might seem harsh He is right. One of the ways to reduce poverty(doubt if poverty can ever be eradicated ) is for people to start having children they can physically, financially and emotionally cater to. Even in the west, welfare has not solved it. And it's far worse in Africa. I also think it's unfair to keep having children with the hope that the older ones will raise/finance the younger ones. It could happen due to unfortunate circumstances I.e death, hard times, illness, loss of employment etc but to keep on having younger children with that mindset is such an unfair burden to place on your child's shoulders. |
oloriB:make sure the moi moi mixture fills the foil container half way. That way it even when it's being steamed or baked it won't spill. |
EfemenaXY:Thanks Efe |

EfemenaXY:I no know but dat Na the main body shape o want o thick fit ![]() I know about strength training even doing Jillian Michaels it's the side lunges and weighted squats that used to get me. ![]() |
naijababe: it's not really weight per se for me. I will even be happy once I get to to the 72kg(healthy BMI for height ) mark. I just want to be toned jare. See my inspiration I don put am for the fitness thread ![]()

This is my goal ... Already my body shape sans the tummy and my arms are not yet there which is why i need more strength training. Cos me sef know my hubby loves the bakassi wey I get make I no lie I don't think I can ever be skinny just want to be toned and fit .

I lost another 2kg in August and I am also taking on the 100km challenge in September. |

EfemenaXY:You and some other people are my inspiration o it's not me o me that I am lazy I have this running buddy that gal wan kee me , I noticed my pace has increased sef. I said let me do 30 mins before the rain starts again and trust me if I was alone I would have probably gone back home when it started but this gal was just going and going chisos. She is training for Royal Parks Marathon so has a target of min 100k every month. |
EfemenaXY:No ..rape seed oil. I dey fear Palm oil these days not for nutrition or anything but there was this message circulating about contaminated Palm oil in circulation in London.. And I shop in Asian or African food stores I don't trust those people to destroy contaminated oil ![]() |
armyofone:Yes I used foil packs. Thank you jare I had to use Ata rodo sparingly cos of all the pepper less people in my house ![]() |
naijababe:Na you know ![]() I ran in the rain today I can't believe it almost 10k sef. My husband thinks I have lost it. maybe because I have gotten rid of weave on sha I could not just deal with the itching after working out so my hair will be in corn rows till further notice ![]() |
Ewuro4:Don't let me vex for you o. You are reminding me . no bank holiday again till Christmas and the last one was in May joor ![]() As for shoe and bag I think UK peeps outgrew it. There used to be a whole street dedicated to these shoe and bags but they are gradually just being phased out. Reminds me of dem mumsi but to be honest sha they tend to be the best things for conventional iro and buba. However peeps (30's to 40's) don't really wear conventional iro and buba anymore. The IN thing is blouse and Iro if wrappers will even be worn at all and they tend to go with the whole loubotins or Jimmy choo and clutch vibe. Even in Nigeria people in that age range don't really wear them (Italian shoe and bag)again. And to be honest UK peeps tend to catch on Naija owambe trends faster than our North American peeps ![]() |
