Nostalgia, the past is always good. Dictatorships are inherently more corrupt than democracies no matter how good the leaders are. A dictator's primary concern is political stability, he wants to keep his power above all else - the problem is that in order to develop a country and build the necessary structure, a regime has to impose taxes, imposing taxes will hurt the masses and this would lead to political instability, so it is always in the best interest of a dictatorship to reduce the development of his country while increasing propaganda about how things are good. |
" A self-fulfilling prophecy is an assumption or prediction that, purely as a result of having been made, cause the expected or predicted event to occur and thus confirms its own 'accuracy.' " Paul Watzlawick People sometimes create their own nightmares, they hear of a prophecy set about to prevent that prophecy which ends up making it happen, the story of the Trojan war in Greek mythology is a perfect example of this. Am I the only one who didn't take this protest seriously, I mean who in their right mind announces a protest weeks before the actual date, at best I concluded it was cringy nonsense - at worst, it was a pathetic DSS led sting operation. But the way Nigerian politicians have given attention to the protest, you would think it was something serious, protests are only dangerous when they are unorganized and sudden, not when you have weeks to anticipate it... What they are doing unintentionally is they are showing Nigerians how scared they are of their own people... And once some elements sense that fear it would have the ironic effect of causing the very eruption that they are trying to avoid... Now what shape or form would that eruption take? ...I'm not sure but if anything bad should happen in August, let the government understand it was their ridiculous fear mongering that made it happen. |
Let the August 1st reach, I've bought popcorn I want to watch drama. Some people are playing 'wait-and-see' politics. |
Exousiang01:If you don't trust somebody don't employ them or at least don't put them in charge of sensitive areas like your food. If you employ them and you wish to monitor them, inform them that a camera is watching them and everything they do, that would ensure their good behavior. It's a hidden camera, the fact that she didn't know it was there confirms it. |
Knowing this gender i'm curious to see how she treated the maid... The fact that she planted a hidden camera in her kitchen proves she doesn't trust the maid, she didn't trust the maid because she expects the maid to do something bad, she expects the maid to do something bad because... |
White people be speaking pidgin and in their head they are resonating with Nigerian culture It's like travelling to USA and start speaking black american slang or travelling to England and start speaking wag-wan. It is ghetto culture and doesn't reflect majority of the people. |
To see if you have tattoo, perhaps you look like Iya Pablo. |
Soldiers are not police officers... A police officer might stay at a particular location for a long time and even become well connected with the community... Soldiers by their very nature and training cannot stay in a particular location for a long time, it makes them restless... Also, soldiers are trained to distinguish and sometimes despise the civilian population. Sending a thousand soldiers to a LGA it automatically becomes 'occupied territory' and the civilians become 'enemies'. |
Hide, run or submit Most criminals in Nigeria are not psychopaths, they are just there for your money and 90% of the time they will not kill you once they have it. Ps: Karate, boxing, taekwondo etc. Won't help you in a street fight, let alone a life or death situation. |
They have gotten married now abeg make we rest |
He's addicted to the limelight he should better not die of overdose |
I heard there's a kind of fish called blowfish, this fish needs to be cooked with extreme carefulness and skill otherwise it would poison the eater... In Japan, ordering the fish in a restaurant is usually a sign that you believe the cook who prepared it - is highly skilled... I pray one day a Nigerian would catch that fish I know they will surely eat it. |
Making lots of enemies as usual |
To be honest our media like to over report, it's not everything you see you should say, you need to look at how it affects the wider society... That's how the nonsense sit-at-home became a thing over reporting. |
Reno has been accusing him of being mute on Igbo affairs, he seemed too hell bent on sucking north poles lately, next you have the LP crisis so he needs lots of support right now... he knows fully well Nnamdi Kanu won't be released but at least it will give him his ipobic base back. |
This guy will end in an early grave The fire that burns the brightest and hottest usually run out of fuel quickly |
Nature is chaos, for every one animal you use to prove a point, you will find five others that disprove it. You didn't talk about Lions, female Lions will bleep the toughest Lion they can find... Now if a new Lion should come into the pride and defeat that Lion, they will equally bleep that Lion too, and they will stand by (protesting feebly) while that Lion kill all their children from the previous Lion and impregnates them with his. Ps. Lions don't provide shit, kinda the other way round. Negroid001: |
I'm surprised he did 12 years In USA he would have been set free almost immediately (as long as he shot the right colour) Kudos to the Nigerian army for not looking the other way |
Christistruth00:You know he ruled for just 6 months right? 6 months to rule a very corrupt and unstable country that just had a coup, imagine judging Tinubu by his first 6 months. He didn't promote certain officers in a six month span meant he deserved to die and thousands should follow him.. Like I said confirmation bias. Your day will come. |
Christistruth00:You guys are seriously hopeless, you are suffering from confirmation bias Despite the fact that Aguiyi Ironsi placed Northerners in key positions of power you believe he was evil because he allegedly tried to replace a VC, a VC post that didn't have value to his regime and he didn't even do it merely allegedly tried to Then you claim the Governor of the North resisted it, while not mentioning that it was Aguiyi Ironsi that made Lt Kastina, Governor. |
erico2k2:They do not protest on the grounds of "we are hosting so and so airport hence you must do our bidding and neglect everybody else" |
T9ksy:Well at least you admit they buried him, that should punch a big hole in your revenge idea |
T9ksy:As for the plucking of Nzeogwu eyes once again you confuse army with civilians The eyes were a trophy, it's like the way the British would steal African gods and store them well in museums although they didn't believe in them. They plucked his eyes doesn't mean they hate him, they kept his eyes because they saw him as a great man hence they can boast that "I have a great man's eyes". |
T9ksy:Quick question why did Murtala Mohammed and TY Danjuma plot a coup against Gowon? Why did Dimka plot against Murtala Mohammed? Why did Babaginda plot against Buhari? Were they all about revenge? The July coup was for a variety of reasons The main reason was Power they wanted to rule, they don't want to be number 2 they want to be number 1 (by 'they' I mean the likes of Murtala Mohammed and TY Danjuma) The next reason was promotion, many soldiers saw a chance to get promoted and killing Igbo Officers made sense, after all if Igbo Officers were being killed someone has to get promoted to take their place, a good career plan (the likes Dimka enter this category) And then we have fear, some soldiers genuinely feared that they were going to get killed or at least have their lives destroyed by Igbo Officers so it was a 'i will kill you before you kill me situation' We also have solidarity, "my friends are doing something bad but if I don't join them I would be ostracized" this mindset is even stronger in the army (majority of the soldiers fell in this category). Lastly sadism, some people are just sadists who enjoy killing and watching others suffer and sometimes they join the army. Obviously they are not foolish enough to admit their true motives, saying "I am fighting for revenge" sounds much better than saying "I am fighting for a promotion" |
T9ksy:Yeah that's the thing The man who personally killed Ahmadu Bello was Nzeogwu Chukwuma. When he (Nzeogwu) died, Gowon gave orders for his corpse to be transported to Kaduna, he was then given a respected military funeral in Kaduna. The man who killed Northern elites was buried in the North with respect. Your mistake is thinking soldiers follow the same moral code as civilians, all this talk about revenge is complete nonsense. |
This is why Lagos will always be successful, some tribes when God put small power - little success in their palms they immediately begin to meditate deeply on how they can oppress others with it... If the government had build that airport somewhere else they would cry marginalization. |
ccrenda5540:I know he was terribly defeated when he tried to invade Onitsha, he had advantage in weapons, advantage in numbers, more food and supply and yet 90% of his troops were killed, only incompetent leadership could achieve that. His expertise was in plotting coups and shooting defenceless civilians, he was cunning but was never intelligent (if he was intelligent he might still be alive) |
GeneralPula: Chickens can't wield guns |
For one temple to be built another must be destroyed, you cannot serve two masters Either the Sultan has the power or the Governor has the power, choose your poison. If the Sultan is an Islamic Leader then let him be officially an Islamic Leader of Nigeria and abandon the Sokoto. This was most likely a blackmail from MURIC. |
