Yet I couldn’t see anywhere from those verses where Jesus commanded anybody to pray to him in order for him to come to the person’s heart. Nancy, I’m sure you must have tried all you could on this to proffer an answer but as it seems, the question I asked still lingers and as it seems, you’ve not given any satisfactory answer. Whenever people talk about the Lord’s Prayer, it is easy to remember Matthew chapter 6 because the format “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be santified” is found in that Scripture. But now I’m asking where the format of this Sinner’s Prayer where you have to pray for “Jesus to come into your heart” is located in the Scripture. I hope you get now. Nancy2020: 1 Like 1 Share |

freshboi88: Hmm. You asked a question which was answered and you’re still ranting? Listen kid, you’re not the Author and Finisher of my faith so you can’t dictate how I’m going to answer questions. See why I said the questions you ask are always non sequitur . Go and look up the meaning of that word. You’re hinging on Revelation 5:13 which says that all creature will bow down to the Lamb means that he is not also a creation? So when the all kings of the nations came to bow down to Solomon, did that imply that he is not a king himself? Psalm 72:11 It’s just a pity that your reasoning is flawed and you have no one to tell you. 1 Like 1 Share |

According to you, my response is weak yet you couldn’t counter any of the points, instead you had to repeat the questions like a broken record? The questions have been sufficiently answered. All you have to do is bring up a rebuttal. Helloooo, that’s how debates work if you haven’t noticed. It’s also obvious that clear reasoning doesn’t work on you so why bother myself any longer. freshboi88: |

The answer is located at Isaiah 55:7 and also at Psalm 73:3-19 & Ecclesiastes 8:12,13 if they do not turn from their wicked ways. |

freshboi88: 1. What do you mean by this statement? “Is he not supposed to be part of every creature as u guys teach” ? Has Colossians 1:15 not be sufficient enough for this already? Jesus being called the firstborn of all creation. is straightforward. It means he is also part of creation. Whereas Jehovah is the only One without a beginning. Psalm 93:2 When God told the Israelites to sanctify the firstborn of the all living things (Numbers 18:15) which included their sons, are we saying that the firstborns of the Israelites are not Israelites themselves? So if Colossians 1:15 calls Jesus the firstborn of every creation, doesn’t it mean that Jesus is also a creation himself? 2. OK then you’ll have to explain to us why God told the Israelites that they would receive praise and honor and glory as they stood out from the nations around them. Deuteronomy 26:19 Does it mean that they now held status of God too since they would receive glory and honor? |

No no no I’m going on that rollercoaster with you again, since you’ve shown how uncouth you are in terms of knowledge. We already agreed earlier on this same thread that we’re following two different kinds of Jesus. As regards John 17:23, you claimed the prayer of your own Jesus was never answered and that’s the reason for your UNITY IN DIVERSITY while I claimed the prayer of my own Jesus was answered which resulted in the oneness in thought and teaching amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses. 1Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:3, Philippians 2:2 Funny enough when the Witnesses quote Scriptures to show that Jesus is completely different from God, the Scriptures are clear, straightforward and definitive. BUT whenever you Trinitarians quote Scriptures in support of your doctrine, the meaning of the Scriptures is always vague. freshboi88: freshboi88: 1 Like |

MaxInDHouse: You don’t have to tell me, I’ve done it countless times. There was once I saw shadeyinka and MuttleyLaff some months back seriously arguing on one of these NL threads. Guess what their argument was all about? Can God talk to himself and send himself to do errands? so you can imagine what Trinity does to the brains of people. The other day I quietly observed a thread where that self-acclaimed Bishop and Nancy were conversing. Nancy asked him what his thoughts were on idolizing Mary since she’s a Catholic, and then the bishop didn’t want to be straightforward in his answer so he used style dodged the question with long talks. Later, in another thread, he claimed that Catholics were wrong in idolizing dead saints(Mary) in the absence of Nancy My brother, UNITY IN DIVERSITY is the reigning thing now oo! 1 Like |

Nancy2020: Okay. So still no Scriptural support for the below? You could simply say you’re satisfied with the popular traditions of men(Isaiah 29:13, Matthew 15:3) I’ll get the hint at once instead of all these. So you tried fixing the below into the Bible and it didn’t fit? Guess the internet was right that it stemmed from Catholicism and Protestantism then. Nancy2020: My question is and has always been where the format above appears in the Bible and so far it’s been story and story. When people talk of the Lord’s Prayer, the mind quickly goes to Matthew chapter 6. So now that we’re talking of the Sinner’s Prayer, I need you to show me where it’s stated like the Lord’s Prayer format. Shey you get now? 1 Like

Reminds me of the Pharisees and the Sadducees who were always at each other’s throats(Acts 23:7,8.) but would always unite to face Jesus. Matthew 22:34 Nice to know there’s nothing new under the sun. Nancy2020: Hello Nancy, I trust you’re doing good this fine afternoon! We’re still on this? Okay let’s get this ironed out. In what Scripture does the “Sinner’s Prayer” have its basis? Google would have it that it originated from Protestantism and Catholicism. But since you know better let’s hear from you.
Really?! What is the name of this JW and what Scripture did he quote to explain what he said? Could it be that you misunderstood what he said? 1 Like |

Nancy2020: Wahala it’s like you don’t know what the “Sinner’s Prayer” is all about? That’s the problem I normally do have with some people, you discuss with them and your IQ points keep reducing. Bible kwa you don’t know, even your traditions too you still don’t know. Funny enough when I searched on Google, no place was it based on Scripture. So it even has roots in Protestantism and Catholicism, not the Bible! The outline to following Jesus was already stated at Matthew 16:24.

Nancy2020: Miss/Mrs Nancy2020, I’ve read and studied the Bible in-toto so I already know there’s no place in the Bible where Jesus said that you must place hand on your chest and recite an anthem that he should come into your heart. The points I made earlier are solidly based in the Scriptures, too bad you can’t refute any. |

Nancy2020: Hmm wahala dey. So I quoted John 76:5 for you on this thread? First, it was Matthew 88:77-78, Nawa oh! Nothing man no go see. The rest of your post is hogwash. To you, accepting Jesus means placing hand on your chest and then deceiving yourself afterward to do “good”. Even the infamous “Sinner’s Prayer” has no basis in Scripture so the first sentences of your comment make no sense to me. It’s more funnier how you can’t quote Scriptures to back up your stand! Meanwhile according to Jesus, accepting him means what he said Matthew 16:24 “If anyone wants to come after me, let him 1. disown himself and 2. pick up his torture stake and 3. keep following me” Let’s consider each point in his statement. 1. TO DISOWN ONESELF means to submerge one’s personal desire, motives, thinking, goals, ambition and live instead for the one(Jesus) who died and was raised up by God. 2Corinthians 5:15 So in that event, the person’s whole thinking process changes and makes the doing of God’s will the most important thing in his life. Matthew 6:33 2. TO PICK UP ONE’S TORTURE STAKE mean that the person who plans on becoming Jesus’ disciple should be ready to face fierce opposition, persecution, scourging and death on account of being Jesus’ disciple(Matthew 16:25) but he should rejoice that his reward awaits him as he successfully endures to the end. Matthew 24:13 3. TO KEEP FOLLOWING JESUS means to continue following in his footsteps as Jesus becomes the person’s role model(1Peter 2:21) and he also continues observing Jesus’ commandments, keeps on heeding the instructions from his Master/Commander as a soldier of Christ, no matter how difficult it seems to be. 2Timothy 2:3 Who amongst you knows this and lives up to it? Your guess is as good as mine, NONE OF YOU. That’s why I said your version of accepting Jesus is only in your mouth, it can’t be seen from your works. Luke 6:46 Meanwhile, Jehovah’s Witnesses are doing excellently in this regard. 1 Like |

Nancy2020: You’re just too funny, ma’am Nancy! How do you accept Jesus without obeying Jesus’ commandments then? John 14:15 Are Jehovah’s Witnesses OBEYING the commandments of Jesus? 1. To love Jehovah their God with their whole heart, whole soul and whole strength? Matthew 22:37 2. To preach and teach about God’s Kingdom(Matthew 10:11-13, 24:14) just like he(Jesus) did? Luke 4:43 3. To love their brothers and sisters more than their own physical family(Matthew 12:46-50) to the point that outsiders will confess that they love themselves too much? John 13:34-35 4. To be no part of the world by remaining neutral in the face of political and social issues(John 17:14-16) and instead advocate solely for God’s Kingdom? Daniel 2:44, Matthew 6:10, John 18:36 5. To treat all of God’s inspired Word as truth and not neglect any part of it? John 17:17 6. To refrain from using carnal weapons to resolve issues and refusing to participate in war? Matthew 26:52, Isaiah 2:2-4 7. To maintain a fine conduct before the eyes of many to the point that some will say “Jehovah’s Witnesses are the best set of Christians!” ? Matthew 5:13-16 How does either your church or you match up to any of these? Who are the ones who have accepted Jesus with their actions instead of mouth? Luke 6:46 My best bet is on the Witnesses. Titus 1:16 says that many claim to publicly know God, but they have disowned him by their works so if you’re accepting Jesus with nothing to show for it you’re in serious wahala. John 15:8 1 Like |

Nancy2020: Point of correction. I came to the conclusion long ago that the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses are the only group of persons doing God’s will and it’s only those who are doing God’s will who are going to inherit everlasting life. 1John 2:17 You thought anybody could be saved in Noah’s day if they didn’t enter the Ark he built? I’m already 100000% convinced that the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses are the new spiritual Ark in these last days(1Peter 3:21) The time left is greatly reduced(1Corinthians 7:29) and the reason we are even speaking to you is because now is the day of salvation for all to come to Jehovah’s mountain. 2Corinthians 6:2 The time you won’t see us again is fast approaching during the great tribulation when people will seek us to preach or talk to them but it won’t happen. Ezekiel 7:26 So just how it occurred in Noah’s day, that’s how it will occur in the nearest future. Luke 17:26-30 1 Like |

Nancy2020: Thank you for your input but you mean to tell me you didn’t see this part in my post? DappaD: Now if it’s about the old/new covenant, that’s a different ball game altogether but the rest assured that the introduction of the new covenant doesn’t render the Law given to the Israelites worthless, after all Paul said the Law was righteous and holy(Romans 7:12), only that we are not under obligation to carry with the same worship procedure as the ancient Israelites did(Romans 10:4) nevertheless there is a lot to learn from the Hebrew Scriptures(Old Testament) 1Corinthians 10:11 Since it forms part of God’s inspired Word. 2Timothy 3:16-17 When talking about the covenant God had with fleshly Israel(Exodus 19:5) and the one he now has with the spiritual Israel of God(Romans 9:6-8, Galatians 6:16) that’s a totally different topic! |

Nancy2020: 1. Yes! Jehovah is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. John 20:17, 2Corinthians 1:3,4, 1Peter 1:3,4 Jehovah is referred to as the living God(Jeremiah 10:10) while Jesus is referred to as the Son of the living God. Matthew 16:16 2. New/Old testaments as in you mean the two parts of the Bible or the old covenant God made with the nation of Israel or the new one he made with the anointed Christians? I guess you mean the former and well in that case, none is superior to the other, the entire 66Books of the Bible was produced as a result of God’s holy spirit. 2Timothy 3:16, 2Peter 1:19-21 This is what Romans 15:4 says on this matter. “For all the things that were written beforehand[in the Old Testament] were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.” Surely without the Old Testament, the New Testament would not have come into existence from what Paul is saying because the Law and the Prophets led the Jews to the Christ. Galatians 3:24 So once you begin to cherry pick parts of the Bible to apply in your life, it simply means you want to grieve God’s holy spirit(Ephesians 4:30) which is a serious sin. Well it is a fact that one can honor someone he doesn’t worship, like one’s parents, the authority etc. Ephesians 6:1, 1Peter 2:13 But one CANNOT worship someone he doesn’t honor and that’s where Jehovah is the only exception. Revelation 4:11 Or can you worship someone you don’t honor? I guess not. But you can honor someone you don’t worship. That’s the secret behind the John 5:23 you’ve been quoting since. 2 Likes |
