PoliticsRe: Come To Think Of It,jonathan Ought To Respect The Pdp Zoning Arrangment. by darqly(m): 6:39pm On Jun 13, 2010
@ poster, sorry but your assumptions are rubbish. Nigeria and her interests are far bigger than pdp and their lousy inhouse arrangement. If i get u right, for the sake of peace,we should allow pdp impose say,a dull,half-schooled,agenda-less president on us with his only qualification being that he's from the north? Some democracy we're practising here dude. Come to think of it,why does the pdp even HAVE to produce the next president?

Just stroll to ur state office, find out if they're recruiting and drop ur cv. And whatever u do,don't lie in that cv. U don't really need anyone on the inside,so long as u're intelligent and physically fit. You should scale the first round at least. Best of luck.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Entry Level Salary Of Zenith Bank And First Bank by darqly(m): 9:52am On Jun 09, 2010
Sorry to say,but you're between the devil and the very deep blue sea! I know little about zenith except that your job function limits you severely and u end up being 'jack of one desk'. Firstbank on the other hand is another kettle of fish- you can actually get paid for doing NOTHING,full salary with all benefits. Then u will likely miss being promoted for the first 3yrs of your career because nobody in hr really gives a damn about some ET. But at least you'll learn ideal ethics of banking and still get the chance to be rude to a few customers. Sorry i sound so critical but my stint in fbn left a bitter taste in my mouth.
RomanceRe: Somebody Just Slapped My Babe. by darqly(m): 8:09pm On Jun 03, 2010
Were u there when de slap was dished or did she return with a shiner as evidence? In any case,it's not ur fight so long as u weren't there, she's ur babe, not the wife. Don't see how the slap affects ur getting laid, unless she was slapped upside down.
CareerRe: Bankers' Forum by darqly(m): 11:34pm On May 29, 2010
Leighcon, i felt that way exactly after 6mths doing debit and credit. I told my colleagues we were being overpaid and they laughed it off. So i moved on to where i felt i'd at least task myself though it still does get to be abit routine. U see, ideally we should be thinkin up new schemes, products or investment types that'll bring income to the bank and leave customers better off. But all our marketers are deposit-seeking predators that barely have the time to be interested in what can grow your biz and by implication, the bank's bottomline. Still, try not to limit yourself-if u figure out a way to better a process or render service optimally, share wit ur superiors and/or product devt team.
CareerRe: Airline Pilots Pay In Nigeira by darqly(m): 8:05pm On May 28, 2010
I was just going to tell you to ask your mum as well. But seriously, does the pay matter that much? I know someone who took a drastic cut in pay to continue flying- he now flies for NIPOST. I'm gonna get my wings soon as i save enough to quit my present job. It's more of a passion, and some glamour to be a pilot not really the pay anymore.
CareerRe: Bankers' Forum by darqly(m): 7:58pm On May 28, 2010
Leighcon, i guess the previous poster has pretty much answered ur question. I'd add that it pretty much depends on ur unit and possibly region. If you're still in i.t, you'd probably find that the saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' works true for u and you'd be idle for some periods. On the other hand,if de bank decides to upgrade or use some new app, you've got your work cut out for u at that time. This is why some banks now outsource most of their i.t work. But brother,if you're in operations, and you claim you're laidback, you're sitting on a timebomb with a VERY short fuse. Still welcome to the fray compadre.
PoliticsRe: General Buhari Greatest Leader We Have Had In Last 40years! by darqly(m): 12:12pm On May 28, 2010
We're a very sorry bunch aren't we? Nothing's ever good enough for us nigerians so we keep whining. Buhari's govt instilled discipline in the society if nothing else. You knew that if you tossed garbage on the streets or pee wherever u feel like, you'd be lashed and fined. No matter the measures he employed, his anti-corruption crusade was EFFECTIVE. Corruption is cancerous, you don't kid with it else it'll spread and rapidly too. You CUT it out, treat it aggressively. Nigerians will only support what favors them- sure most of u here screaming that he was draconian had some of ur uncles flogged or incarcerated by his regime. To insinuate that Buhari even dipped his hand into the cookie jar at ptf is the peak of ignorance and petty vendetta. No one has been able to come out boldly with proof that he embezzled funds, why? Cos he didn't! Someone else was stressing that idiagbon did all the work whilst Buhari was a figurehead. I don't want to toe that well worn cheap ethnic propaganda path. A good leader picks an even better team so his work is easier. That aside, i'd vote Buhari as the man to clean up our country, literally speaking. We've become so docile, lazy, dirty, dishonest, wicked and plain stupid for our own good.

Responses i'm getting are hilarious to say de least, guys! Come on,all of u saying he should call the toaster or threaten him are totally off key in my book. He said his 'girlfriend' not his 'wife', so what bloody jurisdiction does he have over her? Zilch! De banker dude is de one wit zero game and yes i agree he can be reported or advised but by the girl only. How many of us guys are idle enough to be hustling wit other toasters, hell if your girl doesn't get any other attention asides yours, u should seriously be worried! Babes will still have an aside if they want,so will guys. Bottomline? The punk should be handled by ur girlfriend, NOT u,so long as all you're into is girlfriend-boyfriend,finito

AutosRe: The Preorder Mess by darqly(m): 7:06am On May 21, 2010
Why can't we promote a referral system i.e- Recommend sellers we have used in the past? Likewise, though this is a tough one, dealers could also refer potential buyers to one another. There's enough for everyone, you can't always have ALL the cars the market wants, and if you do,not in the exact specification. Despite the success so far,i bet business can triple if there's more trust and credibility especially from the dealers.
PoliticsRe: FG Endorses Sanusi! by darqly(m): 4:14am On May 21, 2010
@papa- I suspect you're doing ur analysis on a naija-style monopoly board cos if you were homebased like some of us,you'd see that ur model is just impractical. Will the average nigerian save up to buy a Tata as his first car? I think not. Will he take a LOAN to buy tokunbo? Yes sir! I still posit that car imports u mentioned are luxury far as Nigeria is concerned. Who can afford a brand new car in Nigeria- Blue chip,Govt,Professionals(few and far between). Hardly qualifies us for a Toyota plant, find out from PAN. Asides consolidation 1st round,Soludo offered little else.Companies were raising money from the capital market like it was for charity- Zenith alone came twice in about 36mths or so. And we all borrowed money and went to the stock market and the market took a tumble cos the prices were Overvalued and what goes up must come down at some point. My grouse is the whole world lost money- why not us? What did sls do that is out of the ordinary? Forget all this real sector funding- in Nigeria all the banks will finance is Oil and gas, govt projects,a few overdrafts here and there and cut-throat mortgage occasionally.
PoliticsRe: FG Endorses Sanusi! by darqly(m): 8:53pm On May 20, 2010
@papabrowne, I'm not sure your analysis on the automobile industry will hold water. As with any other right thinking business concern,it'll take more than just imports to attract car assembly plants to Nigeria. Have you considered the overhead they'd be servicing vis a vis power, zero infrastructure, dearth of skilled workers etc? Car imports slowed cos we don't have luxury money at the moment, and its that simple. Why do we think our economy has to be insulated from the crises? Last time i checked it was global and even the major car manufacturers slowed on production, shut plants and fired staff. Our entire stock market, which mirrors the economy was built on a fraud and sheer window-dressing. Can you imagine a firm like Fbn aiming to have its share valued at N100 pre sls? Hell they can't even attain N20 now. Numbers don't lie, they always add up. Try another one.
PoliticsRe: Don't Honour Invitations, Muslim Group Tells Yarima by darqly(m): 9:41am On May 20, 2010
The problem is not with islam but the pervasive illiteracy amongst the adherents of the religion. If the leader of such a group can boldly proclaim that muslims should go ahead and marry any CHILD or woman they want, then the doctrines in islam are bizarre to put it succintly. Growing up,we had hausa muslims for neighbours-they had a daughter.About the time i was shipped off to boarding school, the lass was pulled out of class 6 to marry one Yau-a mechanic. Fast forward 6yrs later when i graduated, the girl comes to visit her mum next door with the grand children. The image i recall is of a poorly fed, apparently unloved girl with already saggy 'frontage' and two premature, ill children. I was shocked to say the least, she was barely 19! And the phallus of a husband she has was already shopping for wife number two. If you want to see birth defects that are mindboggling, just come up to northern nigeria. This law is for the poor, dumb, illiterate muslim. Their leaders don't ever give out their daughters before they're of age. Shame.
PoliticsRe: FG Endorses Sanusi! by darqly(m): 8:43am On May 20, 2010
@tkb honestly i'm tired of giving that exact response to those stressing that sls is the reason people lost their jobs. He's the reason why Nigeria didn't wake up one morning and find that half our banks had gone kaput, savings lost and ALL jobs lost, Lehman Brothers style. Let our banks do business the proper way, build true corporate governance structures and by all means adhere to due process!

PoliticsRe: Chief Imam Tajudeen Bello Defends Paedophile Senator, Calls Nigerians Hypocrites by darqly(m): 2:38pm On May 04, 2010
Too bad the chap has to be mumu enough to be Yerima's fall guy. Anyone notice now core Hausa muslims have cowered and are waiting for the storm to abate before they offer any feeble defence? Yoruba muslims impress me with their liberality, small wonder their hausa brethren don't hesitate to put them to the sword any chance they get. Iliteracy and poverty are a dangerous combo-How old were Yaradua's daughters when they married?
PoliticsRe: New Video of Training, Martyrdom Statements : Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab by darqly(m): 10:49pm On Apr 27, 2010
I can't understand why muslims are angry and hateful at EVERYbody else, esp the West who they blame for everything vile. But they enjoy the vices of the west i.e technology, fancy cars, internet, kickass gadgets etc. One muslim professor on CNN blames it on poverty, miseducation and ignorance. And i do agree much of it is linked to poverty-come up to Northern nigeria and you'll see what makes the average muslim hate and blame all else around him. Look at this Muttallab clown for example, rich kid,ivy league education and yada yada yada and the prick is still fatalistic enough to leave room for some cleric to encourage him to kill a few infidels. The true tragedy is that other so-called refined muslims don't speak out against their ilk- Ipso facto endorsement.

PoliticsRe: Jos On Fire! 7 Muslim Motorist Killed By Berom Militants Along Abuja Road by darqly(m): 1:16pm On Apr 21, 2010
Everyone is mentioning grazing rights, fertile lands and spring water as the issues at stake. This is a gross misrepresentation cos last time i looked there is no farmland in bukuru market,or main market or other places destroyed by miscreants in Jos. The muslim horde that looted houses and torched them didn't segregate btw berom and non-berom,neither did they spare lives based on ur language. Jos is like a large chess board where the likes of Mantu and Ibb other muslim extremists are making moves. Ask de average hausa/muslim wat he's fightin for in jos and he'll tell u he's from jigawa or bauchi- it's a quest for dominance and nothing more. The hausas in jos are traders, drivers and artisans, not farmers. They're also largely unschooled and impoverished - not our fault. We'll fix Jos but de cost will be dear,on both sides.

No need to call ANY glo office. What partnership does glo have wit chevron or texaco for heaven's sake? You can't win what doesn't exist or what you know you didn't contest for! It takes a little greed and little stupidity to fall for a scam such as this. If you give your bank details, trust me,you're giving them a headstart in cloning your debitcard or attempting to gain online access to your account. We're all informed,or appear to be. When in doubt, just google it.
