I think jason x is nearest to the defination of what jedijedi is in this child's case. I'd say it's a generic term for several illnesses related to bowel movts-irregular anyway. I'm no doctor and i'm no yoruba scholar either, but the 1st thing that comes to mind is a running stomach or diarrhea. Esp when de lad has a sweet tooth. My mum used to give us Agbo after parties and during christmas. |
Damn, nairaland is crawling wit mossad types, lol. See how they unravelled the poster's misdeeds and treated his case sharply. Lesson learned? A lie can only get you so far! |
@aboki, that was really needless. But still a pointer to the fact that you acknowledge your kinsmen are synonymous with violence and barbarity. |
Yeah well if this reasoning can hold water, then the EPL can be held responsible for the backwardness of the entire north! I served in Madobi loc govt area in Kano- they still use coins there, some people walk BAREFOOT there, some had never been past Panshekara bustop and many Will NEVER travel out of kano itself. BUT there was a viewing centre and one riffraff i encountered was reeling off BENFICA's champions league history like it was the Koran! I was shocked to say the least, the boy doesn't speak one jot of english. |
I beg to disagree strongly on this one. The so-called renaissance pros are just involved in cheap blackmail and a public smear campaign against sanusi. Why did they keep mum until he started flushing charlatans out of the banking system vis a vis reforms? What is the source of the income, the huge war chest they are using to finance this obnoxious monologue? What do they hope to achieve or stand to gain- that the reforms be reversed?or Akingbola et al be reinstated to continue their come-chop banking? Or should he re-value their stock which had been obviously overpriced and are now a true reflection of their operations? There is nothing professional about their slapstick campaign so far in my opinion. |
Regardless of momodu's precedents, the man actually made sense this time. The so-called pdp bigwig has the temerity to suggest that a shift in the status quo which we Nigerians need,is not in their party's interest. So the pdp is bigger than Nigeria?and the country can go to hell? |
Another round of civic education probably, don't know how else. And the authorities have to LAY the law down, hard. You can't go around lynching fellow citizens and escape scotfree. |
Anybody been to IITA in Ibadan? Now that is serene. Spent a week there and was too sad to leave. Heading back there for a pre-honeymoon on my next vacation. Maybe i'll post some pix. |
When I spent a year in Kano, each time i went to the market or mingled with the populace, a sense of dread overcame me.I always looked to see if i could spot someone that had killed his fellow man during one of their regular bloodfests. Even when i visit Jos,my home, i imagine my childhood pals snuffing life out of fellow humans with impunity, without a second thought. This week in The Punch,i read of a girls school in Bauchi that lynched a suspected rapist and dumped the corpse outside the school gate- Secondary school mind you! Its truly shocking how easy it is for us to take a man's life then try to justify it. In many cases, most citizens have participated in one mob action or the other and allowed the primordial instinct in them to be manifest. There's need for urgent redress, else we're headed the way of Somalia or 10,000 Bc! How did it ever get so bad? |
Abegi. Have a coke and a smile- that was the slogan in my time. Wat's wit all this crap about leaving a tooth in a glass of coke for a period of time and the tooth will erode and eventually disappear? This is utter bull, yes it causes your teeth to decay, makes some people fat and will give you jedi-jedi but nothing in life is fair! So Tafari, keep up the good work- long live coca-cola. If u don't like it,stick to kunu and zobo. |
Yawn. If people perish for lack of knowledge, Nigerians are an extinct breed already. Such ignorance and illiteracy is hard to fathom. 'Chai' as they say. |
And if i may ask,how many years experience do u have to bargain with? This is just service year not a job fair. |
My opinion, whether or not Goodluck runs, ANY candidate pdp fields is tainted by the covering of that corrupt umbrella. I believe there'll be a major shift and major upset in elections next year,we're after candidates that can deliver, not some lousy rotational policy that invites mediocrity. |
But seriously, who still reads Daily tissue? I use it as a substitute for 'Laugh out Loud'. Lousy control c, control v journalism. |
@ babaearly,i said the alert was silly not the poster,so ur calling me an ignoramus is amusing and too petty.I asked for facts. @lyfe thanks 4 de chemistry tips But acid rain is a geographical/meteorological phenomenon primarily. If u use the same google u used to find out about the acids involved,u'd find that this false alarm has nothing whatsoever to do with circles around de moon! That shoots holes in the whole matter,NASA isn't so incompetent as to start by telling us rings were spotted ergo expect worldwide acid rain. The acids involved are caused by both man and nature, and increased concentration triggers acid rain. The rain is localized to areas prone to oil and coal burning, smelting and car exhaust in volumes that constitute a threat to de environment. Acid rain has been harming the ecological life on the East coast of the USA since the 1970s and is only a significant threat to humans. It affects statues, buildings and roofs. By the way, this is my field of study- I just don't practise it. End of story. |
Yes. Its a silly alert and not only misleading but also a display of ignorance. Since when did acid rains become a calendar occurence? Where will the rain fall,is it worldwide or restricted to africa? Rubbish. |
Back to the original question- The North will SO suffer, for every Dangote they have, there are 4m maishayi or maireke or shoeshiners. The almajiri armies they presently deploy will have no one to kill and will realize their elite have really been shortchanging them- and they'll turn on them in blind rage. The businessmen will also realize the VAST price differential between one metric tonne of crude and one tonne of tomatoes. God help us. |
But why the emphasis on artistes moving to lagos to succeed? Whats the correlation, can someone explain? |
Based on a survey i read years ago from focus on Africa but which should be outdated by now- S Africa has the best equipped and most sophisticated army. Angola has the most experienced army, thanks to UNITA. Zimbabwe has the most disciplined army. Nigeria has the largest army or should i say HAD! The most professional went to either Egypt or Algeria, i forget. I'd give it to S africa any day. Did you know that for the right price, you can hire even fighter jets for mercenary purposes from SA? |
So you're just getting this bit? Daily tissue is where we get our hearty chuckles everyday. A paper that undertands copy and paste esp from reuters and aljazzera, and practically promotes blind hatred. The Arrow that wrote this story sent it in from kaduna,to let you know how thorough his investigation was. Christians abducting muslim girls, enforcing conversion and using them as sex slaves? Then medina must be in mexico. |
@Idupaul- That was harsh, but unfortunately the poster didn't help himself at all. |
People get a grip, paranoia is beginning to set in. Is someone with a club or at best machete, said to be HEAVILY armed? The fulanis in question, did they come in trucks chanting war cries? Trust me,the fulanis I Know won't announce their entrance, they'll just ATTACK and kill a few helpless people in cold blood, albeit gruesomely. So cheer up lads! |
Perhaps we've become dulled by the constant sight and threat of death all around us. I know corpses lie around some side streets in lagos for days and even decompose in full glare of the public. I fear the majority of us have a morbid fascination for death, very sad. |
@18 kurtu- almajiri means beggar with a plastic bowl. What tripe are you spewing here? Is not your mates gettin a good lickin from MEND daily? Some officer you claim you are,bet you're one halfschooled NDA wanna-be. If memory permits, some retards chanting 'allah be praised ' torched a church on a sunday and sparked off this orgy of violence.Nowhere in the history of this country have christians or even idol worshippers desecrated your mosques each time a follower gets a weak erection. But all it takes is for someone to spell the prophet's name wrongly, and you get the bizarre urge to spill blood. In case you haven't noticed, the world is tired of your type of religious extremism. The term islamist is synonymous with terrorist and you believe EVERYBODY except you is wrong? Anybody who kills women and babies is a COWARD, and this is what the hausa-fulani muslim in Nigeria represents. And you,a soldier? Bloody rank and file maybe. |
While i won't be quick to label him a crook,it seems just about ANYONE will dip his paws into the cookie jar if we all look away long enough! Sad though, even journalists. |
Is the same Afribank where staff take money out of the vault and leave IOUs? Shareholders should be more active in following the health of their investments instead of waiting for dividends at yearend. Instead of displaying ignorance by blaming Sanusi, they should thank him for not letting their business go belly-up overnight. Our shareholders are so uninformed,it beggars belief they even managed to invest in the first instance. |
@beejay- when u say preliminary fight in jos, which one are u refering to? Was it 2001 that started on a friday after u divided arms or the last one that started after some muslim retards burnt a church on a sunday,oh and with the worshippers still inside? The problem is that so-called enlightened muslims like urself, silently encourage your almajiri killers by not openly condemning them. Here you are making a folly of urself claiming it was as a result of attacks STARTED by christians! Truth be told, have u EVER heard of christians leavin church on a sunday and burning mosques on their way home?or killing imams because some fool said Jesus was gay? U lot are too damn violent, and this incident has shown the world what ALL of you truly are- Savages. Without christianty and western civilization, you people are the poorest, saddest lot on the face of the earth. We won't always suffer violence, the day we stand up to islam,it'll be the whole world against you. |
True Word brother. |
@elrazur, nice math! Can a leopard shed its' spots? I think not. So far as he didn't outrightly condemn the killings,he's probably chuckling in his courtyard saying it serves the infidels right. Godless murderers. |
