You're reading fiction and canvassing that global warming isn't occuring, where exactly are you based geographically? I can give you a few excercises to carry out for yourself. Even in my lifetime I have experienced subtle but obvious changes in climate in my locality. Have you seen the Lake Chad 30yrs ago and have you seen it TODAY?? You amuse me.

Decades ago we didn't consume as much gas, use up as much CFCs, or even reproduce as much. Advances in technology, science and medicine means we drill more, use more, procreate more and live LONGER.

We speed up climate change in more ways than we can even imagine. Sea levels are rising because glaciers are melting; Crop cycles are in disarray because the rains are haphazard and floods are occuring everyday.
God is fair; Africa DOESN'T have the capability to cope with these natural disasters so we don't get them. But make no mistake, we can only maltreat our earth for so long. As someone pointed out and rightly too, the earth is self sustaining, self healing but we're killing her faster than she can regenerate.

For those who insist the west is using this to fleece the rest of us, they are merely seeing now what we'll see in 20yrs, as always.

@ Kenkruse, it all depends on the previous user(s). Some car owners are really finicky and keep their cars in top shape, regardless of the age. Such vehicles would tend to have higher mileage but are none-the-worse for wear. I drive a bullet as well and mileage is heading towards 215000, most of it clocked up travelling, which I do once in 2 months at the most.The result is my engine,shocks, tyres and AC are ALWAYS in top shape, cos I drive in top gear. Asides travelling, the car is parked from 6am to 7pm every working day, and I cruise around during the weekends Body is spanking new too.

If you've inspected the car and it's sound, go for it. Tis a bargain still.

About siting schools in the North,The hard part is not so much building them as it is CONVINCING northerners to go to the damn institutions.
A good case study is ATBU Bauchi or even good ol ABU Zaria; The northerners- Hausa in particular- make up the least student populations in these universities. And when you do find them, its not seeking education that has propelled them there, most times its what we call "Niggan-chi" and showboating!

I had the chance to drive a Kia Rio sometime this year, it was like being inside a Beautiful "Kwali", everything just within reach and in moderation, but I felt every bump on the road I can tell you.
The bigger Kia's yes but the smaller ones are better suited for within-city jaunts.

The above was culled from an article in the guardian by a former staff. Its so saddening that a life could be snuffed out like that without regards. Imagine what his wife will go through, and the trauma his children will face. I pray for strength for them.

I guess the preponderance of bad governance and evil in Nigeria is largely due to the facat that religous leaders don't TALK at all. These are people of influence and respect, but they hide behind the cloth and don't call what is bad, bad, thereby giving it their endorsement by proxy.
I wish they'd be courageous enough to speak out more.
