Kenekingisback: Fraud
"Apart from the cost of relocating some facilities, especially the Nigerian Army 81 Ordinance Corps in Yaba which is estimated at over N5 billion, there is also the relocation of oil and gas pipelines within the Lagos axis."
- N5bln
To relocate old artilleries, operational vehicles and bungalows? And who pays for the Army to acquire new land to relocate those things and buildings? Probably paying for the new construction as well Compensation has always and will always be a huge cost component in developing infrastructure in a mega city like Lagos. |

doziex: Guys, me I blame CAS for this accident. What was he thinking trying to show off NAF's capabilities, when NAF is at war on several complicated fronts, with very few platforms available. If aerobatics interests him, he should make available platforms and units for aerobatics. Not canibalize the limited capacity of a fighting force needlessly put on a shoestring budget.
If the CAS was optimally resourceful, NAF should at least possess a wing of Alpha jets and a wing of F7s. With no additional funding.
The Pakistanis have retired and upgraded all their F7s. This gives you about a hundred planes and parts which they are ready to sell at "fly away" prices. The alpha jets were bought up by private enthusiasts e.g John Travolta. When they were retired from Franco German fleets.
We could continue to ramp up numbers and parts from these sources. Sorry sir, but Wiki puts them as second largest fleet operator with over 100 frames in 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-7#Operators |

FemiMaduka: My guess is that it's either the two jets are Alpha Jets or Albatrosses (I doubt if there are enough Chengdu F7Nis to spare, especially because of the NE commitment), but the point is that both of these airframes are old and outdated. Most decent airforces have retired them.
These airframes are tired. Maintenance is also an issue. Ťhis is going to affect the airforce someway, somehow - even if the jets were not drawn from the combat pool engaged in the NE theatre.
We have not even talked about the possible pilot fatality!
It's a mess however way you want to spin it. It's a pair of F-7s that went down bro. 1 FT-7 (Trainer) and 1 F-7Ni. Terrible it had to cost a life, but I believe it will be the beginning of the end for the F-7 aka widow-maker in NAF service. The trainer that crashed is the last one in Nigerian spec/service. And the aircraft type is fully out of production now. How do you develop new pilots without trainer aircraft? |

wirelex: DaV8King how can you say NAF has never done this kind of parade before. If you dont know why not ask. Bros maybe I mis used English. But we can agree that NAF has not had aerial parades at the intensity of drill/number of aircraft they are/were planning to use this time round. I live in Abuja and have regularly seen up to 20 air frames (jets, C130 and choppers) practicing at the same time over the last 2 to 3 weeks. |

lionel4power: The Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) re-announces the sale of a number of aircraft and helicopters, as follows:
1 Hercules C-130/B 2 Casa C-295 12 Hawk-63 17 Cobra AH-1/F 13 Huey UH-1/H
note that the Hawk and CASA C-295 are basically brand new. Nigeria go and offer US$150 million for all with stores and training!! This is one careless spend that no true Nigerian will complain about in light of our issues. All have their place in our Armed Forces except the C130 B as it is probably older that our C130 E and C130 H fleet. |
