Please me I don't know o, I dey ask. Is it only in Nigeria that such badly capitalized and managed companies are allowed to continue running? While they use credit as a lifeblood and suck in gullible and uneducated investors for more and more prestige and capital. The show continues...........till the music stops. We know how the story goes from here on. Oceanic, Intercontinental, Japaul, Oando, Skye Bank, Jimoh Ibrahim(ALL his companies) and Union DICON Salt come to mind. P.S @Yayira and other Ghanaian NSEMPAs I don't know how active you are on GSE, but Energy Bank is an avoid o!! Tell ya people make dem know. If you doubt, Nigerian NSEMPAs can combine with Google and confirm this for una. The bolded is the reason why |
Speaking of corporate governance, STACO Insurance have just sacked their founding MD. Main offence is financial misappropriation. Plus the other usual offences http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/23301_STACO_INSURANCE_PLC_CORPORATE_ACTIONS_AUGUST_2018.pdf |

mendes911:Not a bad one........could be more efficient with selling and distribution costs though |
Nigeria Breweries: Disappointing but not surprising. As Interbrew's result showed, game has changed. Time to innovate. Is an accountant running the business? Appears to gain financial income generating skills while losing focus on core business of selling beer/malt/Fayrouz. Check flat revenues alongside ballooning production and distribution costs. Meanwhile finance and investment incomes rise while their costs for these decline. Large long-term (largely passed down) shareholding in NB due to regular dividend payout and long term capital appreciation, beginning to seriously doubt continued viability of this with this kain performance. Na Guiness remain make we do full sector comparison. NB vs Interbrew vs Diageo #beerwars |
Agbalowomeri:Thank sir, have seen it. Good news really takes time to come lol |
cadno:Oando, broda is like your village people don't like you. Go up thread about 6 pages, read and then decipher by yourself. Company declaring profit due to tax credit, legal cases since last year, SEC hammer still threatening, eroding capital. I rest my biro.

Diamond Bank

mendes911:I suspect their parent (FMN) is using them as a source of cheap funding while loading expensive loans on them. Same report states N445 million, or more than 10% of current assets (N3.8 billion) is tied up in related party transactions This is nearly a 300% rise compared to same period last year. Meanwhile, they drastically slashed internal borrowing and loaded their BOI loan on the company. Would have been a good backyard to enter FMN from, but this gbese load is heavy. Now the insurance company and Stanbic Pension quoted upthread, THAT is a good backyard entry (at the right price) |
Yayira:Same here. Or is it that NSE Disclosures is going funny as bad news is ab............

Nigeria the season film

Afriprud's result looks good. Income dropped about 10% due to a possible one time investment write off. Despite this, fee income rose almost 50%, same with investment income. 10% rise in Operating profit and EPS. Has the market already priced this in at current value ? @CurrentPrice @OGG your insight will be appreciated |
But why is BOI lending Promisador money? Na small or medium scale company?!!
|
Saudi Aramco, one of many companies in a country of less than 30 million people earned N168 trillion. The whole Naija earned less than N8 trillion from oil officially. Yet we are busy shouting oil country upandan abandoning other resources. Very unserious country we are.
