Romance / Should She Tell Her Husband The Truth? by DAVECENA(m): 6:14pm On Apr 28, 2015 |
It is Generally believed that most men are known to be non-committed to marraiges than women which entails having concubines, secret wives e.t.c. but women aren't saints either. Last week i received an urgent call from one of my best female friends(married) requesting we meet to discuss a very pressing issue.I felt something bad probably death had happened but she obviously wouldn't request we meet if that be the case. At 4:30pm somewhere in a restaurant we met.The expression on her face potrayed that of someone who was facing marital stress. It took me 15mins to let it out of her mouth. At first she said "I'm Pregnant" and i was like "So why are you sad when you ought to be rejoicing after 4years of marraige".Then she revealed her husband wasn't responsible but some one else. And i was like are you out of your mind? I initially didn't realise she was dead serious. The pregnancy belonged to her husband's best friend James(pseudonym). Explaining how it all happened, her husband was on a 2weeks official trip to China. She paid james a visit on a friday eve to drop a message from her husband.James purposely engrossed her in a talk which lasted for over 6hours.When she realised it,it was 11pm.She had no other choice than to sleep over knowning fully well it would be dangerous outside by that time of the night. And that was how it all happened. After the entire incident, the guy didn't even feel remorseful while she has warned that they shouldn't see each other in private to forestall further occurence. Jane(pseudonym) can't look her husband in the eye as a result of guilt currently eating her up. She is 4months pregnant already. Telling him the truth will definitely dent her marriage and keeping it to herself is something she wouldn't be able to hold for so long. Should she tell her husband the truth or let sleeping dogs lie? |

A supporter of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, identified as Abubakar Duduwale , has set for a walk from Yola in Adamawa to Abuja. He told newsmen in Yola on Saturday at the onset of the walk that the adventure was to express his joy over the emergence of Buhari as president-elect. Duduwale, from Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa and Chamba by tribe, reportedly began the journey at Yola Gate on Yola-Numan highway at about 6:30 a.m. He said he had wanted to start the journey a day after the Independent National Electoral Commission announced Buhari as a winner but somebody from Lagos pre-empted him. “The reason why I am trekking from Yola to Abuja is to express my joy and solidarity with President -elect Muhammadu Buhari. “I want to trek from Yola to Abuja to witness the inauguration ceremony of President elect, Duduwale said. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Suleiman Hashimu, a supporter of Buhari had earlier undertaken such walk from Lagos to Abuja which he concluded recently.(NAN) source: http://leadership.ng/news/428472/another-buharis-supporter-starts-walk-from-yola-to-abuja |

Port Harcourt – The Nigerian Union in South Africa said on Saturday that Nigerians lost more than 4.6 million Rand (N84 million) to xenophobic attacks . The President of Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, on phone from Pretoria, South Africa, said that the losses were initially put at 1.2 million Rand ( N21 million). ‘’ The Nigerian Union in South Africa has completed documentation of the losses suffered by Nigerians to xenophobic attacks. ‘’ Nigerians lost more than 4.6 million Rand or N84 million during the attacks. ’ A mechanic workshop owned by a Nigerian in Jeppes, near Johannesburg, for example was completely burnt with 11 cars inside it. “ The loss is put at more than one million Rand or N20 million,’’ he said. Anyene said the Union had compiled the losses and given the list to Nigeria’s Consul-General to South Africa. He said Nigerian victims of the attacks needed urgent assistance to re-settle because many had lost their means of livelihood. ‘’ The Consul-General has travelled to Nigeria and we appeal to the Federal Government to do something urgent to assist Nigerians affected by the attacks. ‘’ We have made representations to the Federal government . “ We are also hoping that working with the South African government, there will be a way to compensate the affected Nigerians so as to enable them go back to their normal lives. ‘’ The tension is less now. The South African government has come out in full force to check the attacks,’’ he said. Anyene said the losses suffered by Nigerians were in the form of vandalised mechanic workshops, burnt mechanic workshops, looted shops as well as stolen and burnt cars. ‘’ More than 50 Nigerians were displaced during the attacks. The Union has assisted them to return home. ‘’ The Union is also planning to assist a family to move to a new accommodation because the present home is not safe,’’ he said. Politics / I Warned You On Looming Defeat, Tukur To PDP by DAVECENA(m): 12:22pm On Apr 24, 2015 |
ABUJA- FORMER National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has attributed the defeat of the party by the All Progressives Congress, APC during the March 28 and April 11 general elections, to what he termed, failure on the part of the leadership to adhere to his warning on the looming loss. Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and President Goodluck Jonathan Tukur who noted that he was having the last laugh over the party’s defeat in the elections, stressed that the party ignored his warning and refused to mend its ways. In a statement yesterday in Abuja, Tukur stressed that he had warned the party in 2013 that it will suffer defeat in the 2015 general election if the leaders refuse to change their ways and allow for internal democracy within the party. In the statement titled: “PDP- Were you not warned?” the former PDP chairman reminded the party leadership of the speech he read at the PDP National Executive Committee [NEC] meeting of Thursday, June 20, 2013, which he presided over as chairman. Tukur who noted that he had warned his fellow party leaders and members to have a change of attitude if the party must succeed, said, “In our efforts to achieve success, we must rededicate our genuine political believes, change our attitudes and identify our political needs. These good values cannot be realized without accepting the supremacy of the party constitution as key instrument that ensures progress, stability and internal discipline. The former National chairman who also drew their attention to his words, said, “we must strengthen our democracy through determination, not personalization, correction, not manipulation, collectivism, not individualism and sacrifice, not disservice. “If these pronouncements are substantial then, the party should quickly take urgent steps to achieve higher levels, at least by coming to terms with democratic norms and practices.” Tukur argued that he also asked party members to accord President Goodluck Jonathan some measure of respect, saying, “We owe ourselves a duty to protect, project and support our President to leave behind, a lasting legacy for Nigerians,” while reminding them of the promises made on the PDP journey. source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/i-warned-you-on-looming-defeat-tukur-to-pdp/

Politics / APC Shuts Its Doors Against PDP Defectors by DAVECENA(m): 8:36pm On Apr 22, 2015 |
The All Progressives Congress on Wednesday formally shut its doors against members of the Peoples Democratic Party wishing to join its ranks. The party also enjoined members and leaders of the ruling party to stay put where they are and rebuild their party to play its new found role as the main opposition party. It admonished the PDP to come to terms with the cold, hard reality that its fortunes have since plummeted and that it is now in opposition. The APC made its position public in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Abuja. According to the APC, the leadership of the PDP is not even waiting to be approached before fleeing to the APC. Mohammed said, “PDP leaders and members are falling over themselves shamelessly and swearing undying allegiance to the APC. “Well, in case they did not get the message of the President-elect and our National Chairman, we want to repeat it in very blunt terms: PDP leaders and members, you are not welcome in APC. “Please stay in your party, but if – as we suspect – you cannot survive in opposition, then, take a walk, quit politics.”Mohammed was reacting to a communiqué issued by the PDP, in which it alleged that the APC was harassing its members and that it was trying to turn Nigeria into one party state. The APC said the fact that the PDP devoted a substantial part of the communiqué, issued after the inaugural meeting of the its National Working Committee and Governors/Senators-elect, complaining about alleged harassment and intimidation by the APC, instead of strategizing, shows that it was yet to come to terms with the reality on ground. It also observed that the out-going ruling party still does not understand the enormity of the challenges awaiting it as an opposition party.Mohammed said, “The truth of the matter is that the PDP is scared stiff of being in opposition. We don’t blame them as they have neither the capacity nor the commitment to be in opposition. “A party that stood for nothing but looting and rent collection will naturally be afraid of being in opposition, where there is nothing to loot or rent to collect.”The APC also admonished the PDP to stop whining over an alleged plan by the APC to use the Election Petition Tribunals ‘to truncate and subvert the freely given mandate by the people in the states and constituencies’, saying it amounts to blackmail. source: http://www.punchng.com/news/apc-shuts-its-doors-against-pdp-defectors/ 1 Like |

3-The Democratic Republic of Congo The human rights record in the State of Congo has remained poor in almost all sectors. The records are revealing the happening of various severe violations including Unlawful murders, disappearances, rape, torture, and uninformed arrest by the security forces. Important thing is that only a few actions were taken to penalize the violators. Several armed groups remain active, and their armed actions on the civilians are continued to occur. Political disputes have augmented all over the State with protests against the suggestions to change the Congo’s constitution and let President Joseph Kabila to run for a third term.

4-Pakistan The condition of basic human rights is complex one in Pakistan because of many factors including diversity of the country, a large population and an Islamic republic with mixture of both Islamic and Secular laws.Several armed actions performed by the Taliban and their associates during 2013 Parliamentary elections. Many targeted killings and the bomb attacks carried out during that election by the Taliban militants. That was the first time a civilian government transferred the constitutional power to another civilian government in the history of Pakistan. Freedom of the press is permitted but still any report against the government policy or on a critical military issue is censored. Freedom House (Non-governmental association in U.S.) rated Pakistan as “Not Free” and gave a score of 64 out of 100.Human rights violation activities made in Baluchistan by the Security forces. The U.S. drone attacks on some Pakistani remote areas are also creating violent conditions. A number of people arrested by the security forces as suspected terrorists continue to suffer in illegal military custody without being produced in court or being prosecuted. Domestic violent behavior against the women is an epidemic social crisis in Pakistan. According to study conducted by the Human rights watch in 2009 about 70 to 90 percent of girls and women in Pakistan have undergone some abuse.

6-Afghanistan While talking about Human rights situation in Afghanistan, there is a lot of conflict and controversy. Especially Taliban was well responsible for the various fundamental rights violations in their time of government. Some areas are still under Taliban control, where Taliban abused, mainly against women and girls. A series of highly-profile attacks on women in Afghanistan highlighted the degree of threat that holds for Afghan women. The law that was adopted in 2009, to stop the violence against women, is still not enforced. The security shift in Afghanistan has moved rapidly as the International forces handing over areas to Afghan security forces.
