Would've minded my business too like I've always done, and like someone did on first page. But somehow, I couldn't. So... * Your issue might not particularly be a big deal. It isn't a trivial one either. Therefore I can say your concerns about your lady is very legit. Probe all you can now (or maybe not, if you don't have long term plans with her). * You did nothing wrong. Or if somebody did something wrong, then it's the both of you. So, anybody pointing accusing fingers at you are just being insensitive or insincere. * And please, (and am unapologetic about this one) anytime you see a "F" moniker here on Nairaland, by default subject such comments to thorough scrutiny. As you can see, it's only the "F" moniker with a username Cupie (not sure, actually) who bothered to address your post. Others were just getting unnecessarily emotional and defensive. While your lady mirror the offline lifestyle and personality of some of these "F" monikers, a handful of others, on the other hand, have taken it as a full-time job to defend anything feminine regardless of the context or circumstance. * Trust and respect are two words that have been abused a lot. Take anyone using these words, offline or online, less seriously. Some honestly don't know the meaning of these words. Others in fact, do, but have decided to cash on the fact that many don't. For the umpteenth time - trust and respect are not a given, they're earned! In plain English: those who should earn your trust and respect are those who didn't for once gave you a reason to doubt or disrespect them. * Finally, the insinuation of a couple guys on the first page shouldn't be hastily disregarded before it's been carefully considered! Disagreements in relationships is fine. That's why I mentioned the other time that you aren't to be blamed for driving this matter to this juncture. At the very least, it quaked your relationship and gave it a direction so that you both won't be deceiving and wasting each each other's time. A lot for relationships these days and if you're unfortunate to jam someone who's got a ph.D in deception and manipulation (not implying your lady is), ha!, let me just end it there. 4 Likes |

benebaby77:But why would you want to work with a client whose account had been "permanently" suspended? Doesn't it occur to you that his account was suspended for a reason - and that reason being that Upwork had received lots of petition about the client of how he often scam freelancers by tricking them out of Upwork's platform? Been there, done that. I wouldn't want to give other wannabe scammers a clue, but I advise you pass on this client. 1 Like |

I have a few questions. (1) Will the "test article" be paid for? (2) Is it the test article (or the assigned article after the test article) that you claimed will be paid for upon acceptance? (3) Can other determinants like the background, experience and suitability of an applicant take precedence over the test article as a criteria for being hired? (4) With regards to your decision to pay at the end of the month - is this sacrosanct or otherwise open to discussions? |

I'll be radically blunt with my contribution. That mentioned, here are a few tips that can guide you: * High paying job that offer lesser stress come without the noise - and shouldn't be one that will be suggested or recommended to you; it should be you taking the concious effort to unearth them. It's fine people are suggesting IT skills. But I want to tell you that someone like Neil Patel, Brian Dean do SEO consultancy for top brands like HP and Amazon (and, well, I need not tell you how much they'll charge in consultancy fee). PS: Brian Dean has a Master in something related to Nutrition. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? And even more ridiculous - Colin Theriot. He's the owner of the Cult of Copy group on Facebook. Besides he has his own IM product - copywriting course - he as well consult for household names netting them up to six figures in income (again you can imagine how much he'll gross as consultancy fee. And I must add: he get booked over almost all the time). Another person I want to cite is Lincoln Murphy. What this one does is to help startups and brands optimize their approach so that there's less customer churn. You see? Another tip: * You don't necessarily require a paper cert to qualify for high paying job that offers lesser stress; you just must be willing to offer real value (as against more efforts = stress - as is synonymous to majority of the science based courses as are being suggested to you). * And for Pete's sake - if you're fixated on taking a science based course, look anywhere else except Nigerian Public institutions. No serious employer will employ you based on what you're being taught in class! |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Man Narrates How He Disqualified 3 Job Seekers For Not Having PVC by david290(m): 12:40pm On Apr 22, 2018 |
Myfantasies - I just drop by to say thank you for being consistent with your stance. Don't ever let anybody make you change your opinion (except of course something is done to your genuine concern - RIGGING). You raised the issue of rigging as your basis for not voting - how many of your attackers have addressed this issue? Or what difference does it make when one gets their PVC, voted on the day of elections and during the counting process voila, kano votes! A lot has been said particularly about that kano vote. Even prof. Jega when interviewed couldn't state in express terms that juveniles' vote didn't constitute a better percentage of the figure announced. And just recently, an INEC official laid claims to threat to his lives by members of a community in one part of Nigeria simply because he refuse to register juveniles. How much attention has this story gotten? Has this story been investigated and the culprits brought to book? Just as we all remembered the roles military men played in the election of Ekiti. Or should I bring to mind how a one time Gov. in the east, in his thanksgiving speech, conceded not being the winner of the election wherein he was declared winner? And if you were in kwara state last year and witnessed the LG elections, then you'll know what am talking about. For some last few words. Well I wouldn't say those who want to go get their PVCs should not do that already; but what I know is that provided the current system is sustained, your choice candidate(s) can NEVER emerge winner in any election in Nigeria! 1 Like |

Politics / Re: How Do We Make Nigeria Become A Great Nation - Let's Brainstorm by david290(m): 2:52pm On Dec 30, 2017 |
It's simple: let's reverse engineer the situation. This can be pretty difficult but I believe it's achievable. The one opportunity that I see the youth riding on to leadership is the lack of trust the citizens have continuously expressed against the leadership of this country. And from what you saw happened in 2015, I can almost bet my left ball that Nigerians will vote anybody they have trust in, regardless of his party. We first need to make the leadership style of these current old cargoes unfashionable. They make promises, we, on the other hand, should show results. Let's start by using proven tactics like crowd funding to provide jobs for our youths. If that will not work quite as quickly, with my little internet skills and business knowledge in conjunction with those of other smart Nigerian youths, we can scout and support our youths with great ideas and ventures by helping them to launch and thrive, after which we'll make them pledge their loyalty to make at least a 20% slot for Nigerian youths. All this will add when we present a candidate who will be fielded on the platform we'll be creating - this will give us control over the leadership style of our candidate, and will as well reduce the financial obligations like the purchase of candidature forms and campaign costs. Long and short of my epistle: > We need our best brains > We need to be actively involved in leadership roles > The youth need to unite for a common cause > Let's use this unity to build credibility and a platform, which, in turn, will be used to win the hearts of electorates during elections Please search and join the group Fellow Nigerians on Facebook if you're interested in this v 2.0 project. |
Politics / The Politicians Vs. The People In Smoked Screen (a Poem) by david290(m): 7:24am On Dec 30, 2017 |
Note to readers: This poem is one of the poems contained in the now published anthology, Assortment. Smoked Screen Another morning With more to be seen Before the sun rising As I watched from my smoked screen “We shall supply everything, People, you all would feast reckless None shall lack a thing Somebody get ready for development and progress!” “Progress? When you led us into a deep recess?” “Times are rough” “Yeah yeah game of chess You know, it’s tough” “But can we have the bread and the butter?” “The laughter and the laughs?” “They’ll come hereafter” “In bits and in halves” “There was never an outrage” “That’s the truth” Then, there was an outage, Where’s the truth? “We’ve restored power, We conquered them and have now restored peace” “Sorry, we meant electric power, more gunpowder The war did not cease!” “My spleen!” “Brief me a bit” “Smoked screen!” “Deal with it” (©2017 Samuel D. Webmasters / Re: Tips To Drive More Traffic To Your Blog by david290(m): 9:09pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
Sapiosexuality:By 'business blog' I mean do you just want to have those traffic for traffic sake or you intend to commercialize them either by selling your own product or going the way of AdSense, affiliate? Whatever your answer to the above, I'm only assuming that knowing someone is actually seeing and reading (and perhaps sharing) your blog posts on social media is enough motivation. No bias against your blog focus. My only concern is that your blog focus besides that there may be difficulty in implementing SEO, as well may not have enough interest (or audience) to justify your blogging efforts. This by implication means no (or very little) traffic to your blog since your webpages are not matching users' queries. However, I still maintain that I keep no bias against your blog focus and I absolutely respect your decisions. |
Webmasters / Re: Tips To Drive More Traffic To Your Blog by david290(m): 1:54pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
Sapiosexuality:A lot is involved with getting traffic. I visited your blog and find that it lacked focus. If you want to generate traffic to your 'business blog,' I'm sorry, you might have to niche and while at it ensure the niche appeals to a global audience (the general trend of covering naija daily news rarely works because the traffic you'll get is momentarily plus this kinda traffic when viewed from the AdSense perspective isn't as profitable as, say, a traffic from the US). Bottom line is, picking a niche is the basis for getting traction from your blogging efforts. For instance, have you heard of back linking/link building? This SEO strategy works but is rarely used. You've got to have a niche because the quality of the link linking to your blog and the blog you'll be linking to, is often taking into consideration when Google ranks a website/blog. |

I have always known our judiciary to be like this. Whoever doesn't know where we're heading in this country should go and find yesterday's thread where a Skye bank manager who cornered #2million was granted a #100000 bail. The thing is, if you don't have money in this Nigeria just avoid trouble like I'm doing (at least until you'll have money to buy judgement.) 1 Like |

Romance / Re: Why I Won't Marry A Lady that Can't Cook by david290(m): 2:13pm On Dec 11, 2016 |
I think what feminism (or modernization) is doing to the brain of our Nigerian ladies is gross. That's why I'll never come close to any lady exhibiting feminism traits. In their warped thinking they feel feminism is about competing with men. Just take a look at how they're asking why men can't cook too! Hello, we all have our individual roles. That's why it's call family. Saying a married man should become a steady chef/cook is like saying married men should start to carry pregnancy. Or like saying men should start fending and breastfeeding babies. These are things that men may not be able to do because nature has not wired them that way. And seeing that nature has wired men to be physical and dogmatic, much the reason any responsible man must be responsible and accountable for his family's welfare. Conclusively I think it all boil down to getting acquainted with someone who understand marriage, very well someone who doesn't see marriage from the feministic angle. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

This information might help someone. With the W-9 verification ish scammers are on the prowl. If you're a foreign freelance writer on Upwork, be VERY careful. Now this is how it works: They [scammers] post a promising (but actually phony) task and it all boils down to guiding you [the freelancer] into sending them a picture of yourself holding your ID plus giving out your W-9 details. The gist is they will go ahead to use these details to open different credit accounts. My thought is that it is these accounts that some unscrupulous elements are using to withdraw or help their patronizers to cash out having initially circumvented Upwork's rule that freelancer should register with their real location. If this doesn't bother you since they were supposed to use your details to open several accounts, consider identify theft and its gross consequences going forward. Be guided. |

Romance / Re: Is It Ok For Ladies To Carry Condoms In Their Bags? by david290(m): 1:41pm On Nov 03, 2016 |
I do hope things never happen beyond how we envisage it. I used to look at a scenario where a lady has some few cds in her bag and she was abducted... I don't want to think of the impression she will be giving out to her abductors. More so, I see people giving 'sexual activeness' and health wellness an excuse for mauling packs of cds around. Well, while this might be an individual thing, I do not know what today's rapist are using to rape their victims, but I do think the rapist of tomorrow will be raping their victims with condoms! Aren't they sexually active, too? Abstaining from sex or sticking to a faithful partner (in which case health issues fret will be out of the debate only even betrays forward thinking). Again, I do not know if there will still be kidnapping as of tomorrow, but blackmails (from the many escapades of the past, will be a lucrative business sometimes soon). We're trying to build a sane clime, where each individual is 'responsible and in charge of their decisions,' yet words like 'sexual activeness' and 'konji is a bastard' will not stop oozing from the abundance of our heart. Should this replace men and women having self control and being truthful to one another? Is it a hard work than those who decide not to have sex and they're fine? How has this reduced them or anybody? While the decision to or not to have sex is personal, we shouldn't take this whole thing like life depends on it and start to maul cds everywhere we go. |
