Sleekfingers: If u don't know...psalm na incantation...what's the meaning of incantation?..... Spiritism has nothing to do with Christianity. Those taking the book of psalms as incantation are those whom Revelation 18:2 refer to. See also Deuteronomy 18:10-11 also states: "There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, anyone practicing magic, anyone who looks for omens, a sorcerer, 11 anyone binding others with a spell, anyone who consults a spirit medium or a fortune-teller, or anyone who inquires of the dead". Lastly see the definition of incantation:

Christianity Etc › Re: Will This Biblical Quote On UN Wall Ever Come To Pass?(photo) by DavidEsq(m): 12:46pm On Oct 14, 2018 |
That scripture the UN wall is referring to is already taking place now. That scripture quoted is Isaiah 2:4. However, it starts from verse 2 which identifies the time this event would start taking place, which is "in the final part of the days.......". That scripture is also quoted in micah 4:1-3. Micah makes it clear wen he said "the mountain of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains. What is that mountain of Jehovah and what are the oda mountains? It means oda mountains would be existing along Jehovah's mountain but Jehovah's mountain would be made more prominent above the oda mountains. This tells us that the oda mountains are not good mountains and do not have God's support. False worship is being distinguished from true worship in that scripture. It is as a result of this true worship, that persons who were once soldiers would become preachers of God's word. And their hands and knowledge that was applied to war will become applied to oda endeavours of life, such as farming. Revelation 15:4 tells us dat all the nations wld flock to Jehovah cos his righteous decrees have become known. The truth today is being preached worldwide, from house to house and online. Testimonies abound of several persons who have held on to their faith in the face of forced conscription into the military (they ar called conscientious objectors) and their rights are now protected by the law. The UN is misunderstanding that scripture because the time they are referring to is a period of world peace, which 1 Thesselonians 5:3 tells us wld be the beginning of sudden destruction of this system of things in fulfilment of Daniel 2:44. The recent peace pact between North and south Korea is very pivotal in marking this world peace, coupled with the general clamour amount world leaders today, for worldwide denuclearization. Indeed the scriptures must be fulfilled and in 1 Thesselonians 5:1,2 the bible is very clear to those who have taken their time to honestly find the truth. |

solite3: yes I will not die even if I die the first death I will live again. you get it twisted, I m not the one that gives eternal life but God through christ.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. So based on wat u said @ the bold, u appear to agree that u are subject to Romans 5:12 (as all men are). Now the statement "even if I die" does appear to admit that death still reigns over man. It also expresses uncertainty of what one really believes, a fact which the bible does not support (shaky belief). So u see? A mental state of self induced grand delusion of being immune to death, yet expressing hope to benefit from or be part of a resurrection is being equivocal, which the bible doesn't support. See 1 Peter 4:7. To express hope in a resurrection simply shows our hope to one day live above death. |

solite3: faith and works are like fire and smoke. A true faith will produce good works, in other words works justifies ones faith outwardly to men. But those works do not save, it will be a grave error to depend on works.
as for purity, every believer is already pure/holy but should remain so, this also is done by God.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
keeping His commandments, the commandments of the Lord is for us to love one another. It is not works that save us but it is proof of our faith. But when we undermine our works, we are hypocrites who appear godly but do not exhibit the fruitage of the Spirit (which 2 Timothy 3:5) talks about. If we undermine the obligation the previous scriptures place on us, especially 2 Corinthians 7:1, then we are the type of persons described in Romans 10:2-3. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Who Goes To Heaven? by DavidEsq(m): 11:04pm On Oct 09, 2018 |
Hier: Life is in stages and men are in sizes, Isaiah 55:11 is one of my favorite verse. One problem am having while continuing this process is, my spirit might not really see those verses in the light you see them. In that light, go forward in this dialogue might not be convinent, reason being that, the same Isaiah 55:11, is a favorite verse of mine, I have meditated on it and I have drawn so much from that verse. I use Isaiah 55:11 in the light of a confession. I use it in the light of my words. We interacting with God based on how God would want us to perceive Him. In that light, I pull the curtain. I sure would read up on that later, I mean the thereafter, but I don't think I need those knowledge now. I want to rooted in what God will have me do in life and how to fulfil my purpose on earth, I consider those teachings tertiary, I mean and not profitable for me at this moment. Bye 1 Corinthians 14:20 "Brothers, do not become young children in your understanding, but be young children as to badness; and become full-grown in your understanding". 1 Timothy 2:3,4 "This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, 4 whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth". Colossians 3:10 "and clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it". Colossians 1:9,10 "That is also why from the day we heard of it, we have never stopped praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the accurate knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension, 10 so as to walk worthily of God in order to please him fully as you go on bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the accurate knowledge of God". Jesus Christ in Matthew 18:3 stated "and said: “Truly I say to you, unless you turn around and become as young children, you will by no means enter into the Kingdom of the heavens. 4 Therefore, whoever will humble himself like this young child is the one who is the greatest in the Kingdom of the heavens. Who is a child? Why the use of a child as an example here? The answer is simple: a child has a learning mind. Never too proud to be corrected. Always curious or eager to know an always humble to learn. It is this learning mind that Jesus was referring to, when he spoke those words. So if we feel we only need selective knowledge, then 1 Timothy 6:3,4 rightly describes us in this way: "If any man teaches another doctrine and does not agree with the wholesome instruction, which is from our Lord Jesus Christ, nor with the teaching that is in harmony with godly devotion, 4 he is puffed up with pride and does not understand anything. He is obsessed with arguments and debates about words.........". And 1 Timothy 3:7 then caps it all when it described certain person having a godly appearance as: "always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth". |

Hier: 1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
I stick to the part God wants me to stick to, so I feed the church better in that regard. Winners - Faith and prosperity, Deeper life - Holiness and Righteousness, Pentecostals- Dynamic of the Spirit, Kenyon- Redemption, Mountain of Fire - liberation and deliverance, CAC -Adura(Prayer), etc
I stick to my script, that's my scriptures. U seem to disagree with 2 Timothy 3:16,17. That's for another day, tho. Back to the issue at hand in my oda quote, pls. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Goes To Heaven? by DavidEsq(m): 10:15pm On Oct 09, 2018 |
Hier: . No, Sin was more like a diversion or detraction or a delay I would say, and the renewed men would continue in the light of where we stopped in the growth process.
Let's have it at the back of our mind that, those with the born again and recreated spirit, which the Holy Spirit emphasized would be like Him when we see Him, shall be the ones who would continue the journey in Gods plan or will for us.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Let's continue Good. The bible supports ur answer that God does not abandon his purposes. That he wld fulfil his purposes, no matter what. We see dis at Isaiah 55:11. Kindly read it, pls. When u have read it, we wld then pick out bible verses which show that God wld fulfil that original purpose of man living forever on earth. That arrangement is wat we wld consider now, but first, read Isaiah 55:11. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Goes To Heaven? by DavidEsq(m): 10:07pm On Oct 09, 2018 |
Hier: Well, I'm still a student of the word, there are areas in the Bible I must accept I'm not deeply rooted in my understanding of them. About heaven, I would generalise that, heaven is the term being used for wherever God has prepared for us. I rarely read the book of revelation that talks about the thereafter, there are times I have to study a particular area or topic of the Bible as God would want me to. I prefer reading the letters of Paul, the Gospel and a bit of Gen (creation) those are the areas I give more attention to, or let me say, God wants me to give more attention. Learning is great, I have Christian books, but what's the essence of Christianity, go ye therefore into the world and make disciples. In my light of understanding, only necessity would warrant that I talk about some topics, the truth of the Bible is, there are more than one verse that addresses a subject. Your question, man was to live eternally without dying if they didn't eat the forbidden fruit, or conceived the thought that brought death. 2 Timothy 3:16,17: " ALL Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." The implication of 2 Timothy 3:16 is that when we don't read ALL the scriptures, we wld likely make erroneous opinions, doctrines, etc. This is because, the bible answers itself. So we wld be depriving ourselves of the completeness and accurate knowledge that God offers us thru his word, the bible. |
