Two things are involved: 1, u dont have job yet cos no agreement btw both parties. So anything can happen.
2, you can leave anytime without any period of notice.
Just know that both of u are playing game and if u are smarter than them u will win but if they are smarter than u they will win. Meaning u only need them to get better offer and they only need u to do any work at moment cos u said is a new firm. Meaning 3months equal to 6years experience.
But if along the line u fall in love the job immedately u collect ur 6th month salary the following day tender ur resignation letter and if they ask u why? Tell them u hv bin working for the past 6mnths with employment letter. Under 5mins u will receive ur employmnt letter.
Note: naximum 6months if u dont want to blame ursef.

I will quit immediately. A lady I know married a guy, hired caterers, hall and all that is needed for a big ceremony. They married last year August and was homeless February this year. The car he claimed he owns is on hire purchase. As I type this they are living with her elder sister (she is even pregnant). So lying about job is a big turnoff to me.

I think its high time the state enacts stiffer measures against rape, devoid of the option of fine or bail with long jail terms. People must start speaking out instead of being subdued by this hypoctitical mask of stigma and reputation. Justice must be done; not just for the innocent girl, but for the society in discouraging others from committing such wicked crime.

You have it exactly right. That's why I'm on this forum. I know you all can't make the decision for me but I'm having second thoughts if this is something I'll immensely regret doing/not doing. I had an idea about his family behavior but it never directly affected me until now that I'm being attacked. I know God wouldn't want me to make a decision out of fear but I'm still on the fence if this is also God's way of telling me to run. I see the fire now before marriage and me saying yes will be me putting my hand in it. I don't know if that's wise.

This is what happened to my Dad. One of his tenants failed to pay and when he was given 1month quit notice, he started blabbing saying my Dad should give him at least 6month notice even after there was a tenant landlord agreement that whoever fails to pay should leave within a month of which he signed and my dad has a copy.

He even threatened to sue my Dad If he is not given 6month notice.

When it was clear to him that Daddy is not the type of snake he could kill with a walking stick, he started begging him to give him some time to pay.


Bros go and pay your house rent, if you don't have money, then look for smaller house to pack in, as simple as that.

Your landlord is definitely not running a charity organization .

Now listen to this piece of advice, it will help you a great deal.

If you house rent will be paid on December, start saving money from January, before December comes, the money will be complete.

OP, if you are a yearly tenant and ur rent is in arrears and remains unpaid, you are automatically now a tenant-@-will who is only entitled to One week Quit Notice and not 6 months Quit Notice. We have the Supreme Court of Nigeria decided case of :Odutola Vs. Papersack Limited. But if there is a Tenancy Agreement signed by u and ur landlord, the duration of the quit notice to be issued to determine the tenancy contained therein subsists

Hello, please check your Tenancy Agreement. If it has the words TERM CERTAIN then I'm sorry by law all the landlord is required to give you is seven days. If the words don't feature then as a yearly tenant you are entitled to six months notice. Even if you are a tenant at will. There are decided cases up to the Supreme Court on this issue. You should have had a lawyer read your agreement before signing. It's usually a land mine set by lawyers for ignorant tenants. I rescued a lady recently from signing such an agreement recently. The best you can do is plead with your landlord for an extended time which he may generously give. If not he is backed by law. Check your Tenancy Agreement.
