gunuvi: Let's put sentiment aside here. Crude oil has really blindfolded us in Nigeria, can u imagine the income that such edifice would have been fetching us if they have turned it into a tourist spot?.Wait, what?!?! Is that sarcasm? |
slimfit1: Well what can I say, well the building is a danger to itself so let demolish it and use it for something else. It's not all the time we blame Gej for everything that goes wrong. What?!?! Destroy a national monument? Where is your knowledge of history? Na wa o. |
pesty100: is it compulsory for people to rant, I said 1997 or so, I wasn't clearly sure of the date... If someone is wrong, be a little polite in correcting them please next timeThat was unbecoming of me to do that sir. I take full responsibility and no excuses. |
Here is another link to the top 25 film school in the US. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/top-25-film-schools-united-721649 |
@ OP Excellent topic. I came across an article online about this. Here it is. What is it that makes one film school superior to another? The process of creating a film, regardless of whether it is art, cinema, documentary or an event, or regardless of where it is filmed – Wyoming, Wisconsin, West Virginia – requires knowledge in a variety of areas. Camera operators must understand the theory behind film, the technology necessary to capture events on film and the knowledge to produce a meaningful series of images which convey the intended meaning behind the film. A good film school will teach students the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the functions required to accomplish this. An excellent film school will produce graduates who have developed an inherent understanding of what must be done, the creativity to produce unique projects and the ability to successfully implement their ideas. Developing a curriculum which matures each student’s natural abilities and cultivates an advanced understanding of what makes great film is essential to significant success in the commercial or private film industry.http://www.thebestcolleges.org/the-10-best-film-schools-in-the-united-states/ |
igbsam: MaybeHere are sources below to educate yourself on the virus and stop watching those MOVIES!!!!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yambuku#Ebola_outbreak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebola_virus_disease#Epidemiology http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/ http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/07/28/ebola-virus-deadly-africa-outbreak/13260541/ |
rickkid: The "conspiracists" might be dumb and clueless, but in this case, there actually IS a conspiracy. This Ebola outbreak is NOT what you think it is (virus hopping species from animal to man). It is a PLANNED biowar experiment by the usual suspect. The above report even named the hospital which is at the epicentre of the so-called outbreak. Why don't you conspiracy theorists check the credibility of the websites that you get information from You just go online and grab information from any stupid website that confirms your suspicions. Na wa o. I don't know what to blame. Is it that you have watched way too many movies or is is this just another example of intellectual laziness? Unbelievable!!! |
rickkid: This report is disinformation.Another dumb conspiracy. Where do you guys even come up with this stuff? You just pick anything from the internet without checking its credibility? Na wa for una o. |
ceejayluv: It wasn't created, it was isolated from a previous outbreak and patented to protect the intellectual property so as to have a monopoly on that particular method of vaccine development of that particular strain. The way you're pasting the link all over this thread shows you just "discovered" this patent . I bet you didn't bother to go through the patent literature. No mind am o. |
tinuolababy: America at workWhat did America do to you? Typical Naija people. Always your instincts to expect the worst from people you don't even know. Stop watching too many movies to educate yourself. Here are sources below to educate yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yambuku#Ebola_outbreak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebola_virus_disease#Epidemiology http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/ http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/07/28/ebola-virus-deadly-africa-outbreak/13260541/ |
pesty100: Like one of my friends said, if this ebola had been existing(since long) then it should have wiped out the human race unknownly.... Why is it that it was just discovered(1997 or so)... It more than an ordinary virus, maybe a biological weapon gone wrongRubish. What an ignorant comment. Why don't you educate yourself about the disease before talking. Besides, Ebola was first discovered in the Congo in 1976 and not 1997. So stop listening to your friends and other ignorant folks and do your own research bruh. Here are sources below to educate yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yambuku#Ebola_outbreak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebola_virus_disease#Epidemiology http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/ http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/07/28/ebola-virus-deadly-africa-outbreak/13260541/ |
igbsam: This is serious o. This virus so, i hope its not some kind of biological weapon tested on the african soil to see how effective it is. Watched an American Series Movie (The 100) where it was used.Dude! You have watched way too many movies. |
adesewa4uyahoo: Nawah o.....i perceive d whites created this virus and tested d potency in africa....chai dere is God oSee ignorance. Why don't you research the origins of the virus before speaking lies. Chei! Naija people. Here are sources below to educate yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yambuku#Ebola_outbreak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebola_virus_disease#Epidemiology http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/ http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/07/28/ebola-virus-deadly-africa-outbreak/13260541/ |
This is a team that needs a new central defender and another defensive midfielder and yet they spent money on a winger and a striker. Who makes th e transfer decisions at Man U? Arsene Wenger? |

What google search feature is it that the article is talking about? |
phreakabit: Sometimes I am amazed at how people read and don't comment. Not even a question! Threads like this as well as couple others here would help in sensitizing and educating the citizenry on how to handle and help fight this deadly disease. Some threads like these should even be made into a sticky on the front page. I don't get the mods.Yes o. No wonder you see some people saying stupid stuff like America invented Ebola and other nonsense things. I can understand that the website needs clicks but it should also act as a means of educating people who don't normally have access to the Internet but the website decides to continue to feed the masses with trivial knowledge and you wonder why there is still a strong ignorance or semi-truths floating around nairaland. |
Excellent topic. |
phreakabit: Frontpage is for daft topics only. . .Subjects that appeal to the "crowd".It sure seems like it man. Stuffs that pander to the masses and generate clicks. |
lomomike: You're wrong bro, its important to bath to rid one of dirt, dried skin, sweat, bacteria and germs, oil and other body fluids on the skin.Dude, we are mostly on the same page. I was just referring to his earlier comment that it is not only about bathing. |
lomomike: You're wrong bro, its important to bath to rid one of dirt, dried skin, sweat, bacteria and germs, oil and other body fluids on the skin.Dude, we are mostly on the same page. I was just referring to him that it is not all about bathing. |
Interesting article. This kind of thing should be on the front page instead of a lot of this silly topics. |
Qoigord: So you're at some random place and you happen to see someone in the same clothes as yours, what will you do?Chei!! If this was yanki? I would say "first world problems" but I guess first world are not only limited to first world countries. |
Litmus: Nigerians are said to be treated far worst in other nations than Nigerians ever treated foreigners. Arn't Nigerians the ones said to be thrown regularly out of Chinese windows; attacked and murdered in South Africa, Ghana and Guinea; paraded all over the you-tube by Malaysians; killed in India and their business closed down? Worst, Africans celebrate the maltreatment of Nigerians. It doesn't bare thinking what might have happened to Nigerians in South Africa, for instance, if a Nigerian had turned up in their country and peed Ebola deliberately on their doctors. So because other countries mistreat Nigerians, Nigerians should now retaliate? How childish is that? They did it to us so we must do it other people. What kind of reasoning is that? Two wrongs don't make a right. Nigerian authorities need never worry that Nigerians harm any foreigner . Nigerians are the kindest people in Africa, that's a fact. Please can you show me the statistics to back up that statement. While you are at it, please tell me who conducted that study. |
sebali: Na Jazz O.What?!?!?! You think the devil is going to protect you from death?? Instead of running to God, you are begging the devil to protect you? Chei!!!! The way people think at times. It is appointed for man to die once and then the judgement. What exactly do you intend to tell God during the judgement. |
Ozonna: My brother this is not terrorism. This is Ebola wey no get cure.I know but you can't just arrest someone because of their country of origin. That's just straight awful. What if America and England started arresting Nigerians in America simply because they come from a country that experienced the Ebola outbreak? I remember when Nairalanders where mad that Donald Trump proposed canceling all flights from West Africa during the height of the outbreak yet Naija is doing pretty much worse than that. Arresting someone based on nationality. How awful. |
maxism2: Lagos-At least 39 foreign nationals were ,yesterday, arrested by Police and Immigration officers in two hotels on Lagos Island. It was gathered that they were arrested following a tip-off by some residents of the area over fears of the spread of Ebola virus disease. What kind of country is this?!??! You can't just arrest someone based on some unfounded fear. Man, the things people would do when they are afraid. It would be the equivalent of the US arresting anyone of saudi or middle eastern descent after 9/11. |
padeolu: Thanks a lot sir. I'll see the video now.Na God o. The video devastated me. I hope you that you are able to watch it to the end because it gets really intense. Also, please stop listening to the skeptics on this thread. They wouldn't be there to help you in the day of trouble. The name of The Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and is saved. |
SurePresident: A young friend of mine died in his sleep early this year. Not from poison and he wasn't sick at all, healthy young graduate that just got a well paying job. He just slept and never woke up the following day. I still cry, I miss him dearly. We both didn't fancy anything like Church or GOD, his death made me to get closer and commited to God.Sorry about that. That's so sad. Pleeeease, watch the video I posted earlier, it's extremely important. |
new2020: The figure he saw I believe I read it correctly was in the first part...the dream. The second part was when I think was the seizure. "He still felt the pain while typing the story" that's what I mean by being exhausted afterwards. No, you don't get it. He saw a figure run off right after he woke up. And he said he felt the bee like sting after he woke up so that tells me the experience is somewhat different from your own. |
