new2020: Listen very carefully. This has happened to me more than 50 times from 17 to 27. When I was in Nigeria I used to assume like you it was a demon or something. However, after I left the country( back now) It kept happening in far away Australia; so I knew something wasn't right. So I discussed it with my personal physician casually, he immediately told me it was a type of seizure and requested I see a neurologist. Listen to me very carefully, this is not witchcraft or demon, is a medical condition. I experienced exactly 100% of what you experienced...struggling to wake up but you can't, like somebody is restraining you, you can't breath, you keep struggling until you finally wake up. When you do, you feel all exhausted and scared to go back to sleep. My was almost twice a week. Long story short, I began taking anti-seizure/anti-convulsant medication, exercising more frequently for better blood flow to the brain which stopped it. If ever it does happen is like once in 4 months but doesn't bother me. So, go and see a neurologist to prescribe you anti seizure medication. I can't believe I could ever find someone who will replicate the same thing that happened to me. It's unfortunate that we always attribute everything to witchcraft and demon.
So how do you explain the figure he saw? you are just going to discount that? I mean the guy said that he still felt the pain while typing the story and here you are saying its something else. Agreed that his situation looks a little similar to what you went through but its not exactly the same.
padeolu: Thanks bro.. But what I meant was that, its only Ps91 I can recite offhand. I will consider learning others...once again, thank you.
Bro, please i hope that you watch that video i sent you at once. Its extremely important man.
My former housemate told me he had a similar experience. He said he fell asleep one night while watching porn and after a while he woke up and there was a strong feeling of fear that came over him. So he decided to look around and he saw a very black figure in the room that disappeared when he saw it. He said it was such a scary experience.
Let's just thank God for his mercies and his grace because had it not been for the lord on our side, the enemy would have swallowed us.
padeolu: Thanks sis, I've thought about that but I don't know how to go about that. I pray and read bible verses, I also do good to others. Isn't that all it takes to live a holy life?
padeolu, Please watch this video. Its extremely important o. I guess you would get your answers here.
poiZon: so where obj from, no be southwest. hw abt that bode george that was NPA md n na during him regime dis shit happened, na from SOUTHWEST TOO. so whats is ur argument now?
Nigeria's problem is the federal model. Everything is too centralized and this creates the opportunity for inefficiency and waste. This top down model should give way to a new decentralized model where each state is semi-independent of the FG and are allowed to set there agenda and determine their destiny with the federal govt overseeing their development. For example, each state should be able to raise it own revenue itself instead of waiting for the federal government to allocate funds yo it each year. The same goes for electricity, each state and city should be able able to determine how to generate its own electricity either by getting into its own contracts with electric generating or utility companies.
himkers:Na true U talk OP. I opened a thread like this sometime ago. Its exactly the same thing that happened at SARS Awkuzu, Anambra state.
Every midnight, they switch off their light, call out some inmates, take them to their slaughter slab, fire some shots and that's the end; they won't return. Their parts are either sold or disposed off at some river. Once they tell you "they are travelling you", it means you will be killed that night. And to make it all worse, it is a fellow inmate that will be ordered to come and cut out the organs they (SARS) need from the dead person before the body will be disposed off.
My brother is a real life witness to their muderous acts and illegal killings going on at that SARS office, awkuzu anambra. FG should seriously investigate this senseless killings by Men of the police especially their SARS units.
If this is true, it should be on every blog or website.

Ikenna351: Of course, I wouldn't expect you to understand if truly you are a female. Simply because you were never a male teenager and wouldn't know what thread like this would do on them.
Ikenna
Bia Ikenna, i know this is off topic but please can you put this thread on the front page. This is a sensational story abeg.
michelin89: Ahhahahah! I love women. Always so sentiimental.
Men are not women. We have 9 months to get used to our new babies, they don't. They start from the first day these kids are born. A kid is already a great challenge for man, not to talk of two. In this case not only does he have to struggle into the kids-mother bond but he has to find his way in between the kids too because we know how twins are.
I don't blame the man but then he should just accept that these things happen and try his best to work things out.
Growing twins can be lovely until you don't try to mold them to be identical people!
do you know that once you get married all other female friends should be something that must be in the open? let say you have female friends not gf but just friends, it is your responsibility to intro them to your wife same with her, her male friends if she has any. when they call you, give your wife the phone to talk to them. what are they calling you for that they can't call your wife for? so she is right.
i don't like women who go abt calling other women's man. once you know this person is married, move! befriend the wife not the husband!
open marriage is important to prevent suspicion which is one of your problem. yes no any woman i say no any woman would want to share her man with another woman be it just friends or something. same with a guy too. you wouldn't want your woman to be cooking your meal and chatting with her male friend on the phone. please be honest with yourself. i don't blame her for embarrassing your female friend, you seems to have proudly said it. na wah! i hope you have sorted it out. i hope for the interest of your kid you have both settle the problem. always remember your wife comes first. you both should sit down and make a decision how to help both family and when. no hide hide in marriage. things should be done in the open. there is nothing wrong if you say ' honey let's send money to mama' and wifey says oh ok or let's do it next pay check. it is a simple thing to do.
you running away for a problem is not a way to solve it. know your mistake and avoid it. i hope you and your woman are enjoying the marriage again since you both last posted. you are in our prayers.
run away from titi, ngozi or hauwa won't help you because you wont learn by running. deal with it.
735i: I would sincerely love to explain… but it will be a long post… It would basically be a combination of futures and options… But..yes they can mitigate with derivatives.
I know what futures contracts are, I just didn't know much about its application by oil and gas producers but looking at it now it makes sense.
derivatives don't properly mitigate against the full range of risks associated with the project like another Niger delta insurgency, sabotage, lawsuits and all the other ridiculous risks that come with doing business in naija and we are not even talking about natural disasters here. So like I said earlier, insurance is the only way I see them hedging there bets in this project.

Sorry for the triple post, my Internet is just slow man. But I hope you saw my last post?
735i: Good… i see we are getting to the same wave length.
Now read carefully; There is no risk without reward. The higher the risk…the higher the reward (theoretically). There are several methods to avoid, transfer or mitigate risks so that there are no extreme measures. All the risk factors you have listed above can be managed either through Insurance, outsourcing or derivatives trading. I only listed dry wells because that was the major risk you stated in your initial post. @ the bolded… That is why they will seek to make maximum profit irrespective of negative externalities…you eventually contradicted yourself.
Not that it's important; I admit that i do not know all about risk…but i hold a masters degree in risk management from a top university in the UK and i have solid work experience in risk management roles…. You are not in a position to educate me about risk. Thank you.
Sorry I made a mistake in my earlier post that is why it looks like I contradicted myself.
Also, I don't see how derivatives trading is going to help Chevron mitigate risk after all they are not buyers of the product, they produce and sell. they can't fix the price at which they sell there product, it is governed by the free market. So besides insurance I really can't see how to effectively hedge against risk in this venture.

735i: I understand that NNPC does not have the expertise to run the project. But i am 100% sure it has the finances. So why can't we finance the project and outsource the construction and operations? My worry is on what will happen to the revenue from this operations…. will it be reinvested in Nigeria? or will it be sent back to the U.S? Remember..Chevron or NNPC…the natural resource belongs to Nigeria...
What?? NNPC has what money?? Guy, we are not talking of a couple of hundred millions here, we are talking of billions. Projects like this are very capital intensive. This is not a road construction project we are dealing with here. You can't just "outsource" the project like that bro.
735i: The list is endless!!! Chevron must have done its research and found that the project will be viable so there's no risk of dry wells.
It's sad that you would say NNPC does not represent Nigeria in this case. Would you rather Chevron be allowed to come into Nigeria, tap your resources, and pay you a pittance for something that is naturally yours?
First of all, risk is anything that jeopardizes the success of a project or of achieving a goal. It can come from political instability, natural disasters, attacks from militants and other forms man made attacks, uncertainty in financial markets, project failure, accidents, credit risks, lawsuits etc As you can see from the definition, risk is much more all encompassing than not finding oil where they explore. So saying that chevron bears no risk in this venture simply means that you don't have a good understanding of what risk is. That's why I said it was a bad business practice for an investor who hardly bears any risk like NNPC in this case to just come in and just demand a share.
Also, Chevron is a private company and I expect it to do what is in its interest which is to maximize its shareholder value. Unlike the so called NNPC.
publisher: A section of the Nigerian media has innundated us with news of Boko Haram capturing 'new Nigerian territory' and hoisting their flags.
This is apparently the next line of propaganda war that Boko Haram has adopted in the face of impending defeat in the hands of Nigeria army.
Boko Haram in conjunction with their foreign and local media partners now concentrate more on targeted attacks in a predetermined location; they clash with the Nigerian army, kill innocent people, lose many of their own fighters and retreat to their hideouts. Next morning,Boko Haram media partners get to work by informing the world that they received "phone calls" from "unnamed" sources that Boko Haram has taken over new territory and hoisted their flags-no pictural evidence.
Even the very proud Abubakar Shekau is yet to provide a new video showing him relaxing at his newly conquered territory.
The Nigerian army in its wisdom has reduced or stopped announcing its victories and casualty figures against Boko Haram-this has afforded our army the liberty to kill, capture and slaughter Boko Haram fighters at will without any international scrutiny. This is why Boko Haram and their media backers a few weeks ago, released a video showing members of Nigerian army slaughtering their members-it was a subtle cry for help.
The Nigerian army have now turned the tide and become terrorists to Boko Haram members and their supporters.
The insurgency war is far from being over as many remote towns in North East wll continue to experience attacks and bombs will continue to explode here and there, but the truth is that Boko Haram fighters are being decimated rapidly and their only hope of survival increasingly rests on the pages of selected newspapers, reckless social media fora and opposition backed news websites.
