Going by your logic, the only way for a town to develop is to become a state capital. This a very flawed view of how development occurs. No wonder every village and hamlet is asking for their own state.
The old western region did a lot of things better than what we have today. Education, health care delivery, road maintenance, internally generated revenue etc. Many of the states in Nigeria today cannot survive for six months without a handout from the federal government.

Hey quick question, u said u applied to IEOR/FEOR or finance programs- do u have a very quantitative background. I am asking because one of my friends is getting the punishment of his life while applying for jobs- he is getting rejected everywhere despite being a top applicant- 3.8+ GPA in the hard sciences, significant awards in school, part of a selective program in his school which gets him in contact vice-presidents and managers at morgan stanley, bain and deloitte - but he has gotten 0 job offers, despite his networking skills and experienc eand so he wants to apply to graduate school.

2- Most Nigerian women tend to keep to themselves in the states (super close ties only with other african women and social circles), so there is less of a chance to even mingle close enough socially to date a black american
3- men are going to "sow their wild oats" naturally- So- its more likely and acceptable the African Man ends up broadening his horizons with women from "other" backgrounds.
4- A lot of African women don't "look approachable" to American men. Though they are beautiful- Their Attitude and facial expressions send messages that they are always in a state of disgust with someone or something- so black american men see that as a clear sign to NOT Approach such women.
