I think the reason for all this was as a result of the native africans who were just learning english for the first time so they embraced the white man's language over enthusiastically and probably loved the oyinbo more than they loved themselves. So as a result of that, they abandoned there so called old and "primitive" ways so as to become "mordern", therefore they started naming themselves and children names like 'Pillar', 'Government', 'Polycarp white', 'Hitler' and so on and so forth. They remind of what the late Fela used to call "Gentleman".

I never saw my parents kiss either. Just hugs and my mum never liked the idea of us seeing ppl kiss on tv. It was a sin so we always put off the tv at such scenes. Evn now when I am watching a movie with someone and ppl start kissing and smooching, I change the channel or I dont look. LOL

Don't listen to Fhemmy, the truth of the matter is that's how it is in our society. PUBLIC INTIMACY IS NOT IN OUR CULTURE. I can't even imagine my dad allowing my mom to hug my dad in public (talkless of kissing), that would be embarassing. If i were to marry an akata or oyinbo and i brought them back to naija, i would probably act the same way your husband does. If we were in the US it might be a lot different though but in naija, i wouldn't feel comfortable holding my wife's hands in public. I guess that's just the way it is.

Each cow u see there will pay your rent in Newyork(newjersey) for 1mth  or more do the maths. Truck load of cows/rams/goats arrive at location every day.
