IamaNigerianGuy: Mandela did not run South Africa well ? Rwanda and Botswana are not well run ? Awolowo if given the chance would not have run Nigeria well ? Ojukwu did not run Biafra well ? In 1960 China had the same GNP as Malawi and was grossly under developed; if you had been alive then no doubt you would have called the chinese sub-human too. Read the literature and understand the causes of African underdevelopment. Stop insulting a whole race. Your Father is black and a Nigerian - do the maths. Engage your brain before your mouth (or keyboard ) Don't mind people like this guy jare. I have noticed that people who don't understand the complexities of the socio-economics of countries usually resort to simplisitic conclusions like "blacks are not smart enough" and all that nonsense. I doubt if guys like this have even bothered to read books like Why Nations Fail, Poor Economics or the Bottom Billion. The answer is usually no they have not even bothered to read but yet you would see them open there big mouths to insult an entire race. |

MetaPhysical: This is a very painful and sad story to read.
Foreign countries benefit greatly in our misfortune. If it appears we are getting ourselves right and correcting the ills in our society, it upsets them because our progress will do two things, 1, greatly reduce the pressure to escape from Nigeria, which diminish cheap labour pool; 2, Nigerians in their countries will also start returning home and abandon the cheap and undignified labour they are forced to take as foreigners. The effect of these two impacts will definitely affect lifestyle and status of living in their country. So to promote and sustain their own status and social upward movement, they destroy ours using different political and treaty tactics called trade agreements and endorsements. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!!! You are so wrong its not even funny. |

bencarson007: . Let's not condemn this girl in all totality... I agree that she made a childish and stupid call but trust me in this part of Naija, (I live in Benin city for the last 2 years now by the way), some fathers are just disasters waiting to happen... Lazy and abusive... So don't blame the kid... I woke up a month ago and discovered my neighbour - an 18 year old boy was missing and upon enquiry, I was told '... E don enter malay (Malaysia) and upon more questioning on how he generated the money to travel, I was told '...na God o...somebody wey see am and just like am naim carry am go (PITY)... Now the question is what did he go to do there ? Peer pressure and lack of proper fatherly guidiance were the main culprit... And like I told his brother, the little boy followed the internet fraud gang to go there - but when next he calls, tell him I wish him well but he should steal and try not to get caught... Another case is my landlady's sister. - a very young woman who just lost her husband in November... She is planning to sell her husband's cars so she can enter 'that way' (ITALY) leaving her kids here so she can go HUSTLE and the entire family sanctioned it as there is nothing left for her here in Nigeria... WELCOME TO EDO STATE...Many families here in Edo have long lost their sense of value for love of money |

Snow84: Learn how to pass relationship-related comments from that Raine80 moniker. If the father had made it known that he gave the car to her daughter, that marriage is doomed, especially if the man is not rich enough to own a car. If the husband is not rich, and the wife is from a rich family, enrich the man, for charity sake, and see the man becoming grateful by loving his wife more, assuming what brought them together initially is genuine love. Before marriage, the father should have tested the man by giving him 1m naira to see r what he can do with it. If the 1m naira vanishes without making any good use of it, the father would advise her daughter to be wary of the man, and steer clear of interfering in the affairs of the upcoming family. You don't have to teach young people, adversities will teach them. If the man's ego is too fragile that he cannot accept the fact that someone is willing to give his own daughter a car as a wedding gift then maybe both of them don't need to be together in the first place. He should leave. Good riddance to bad rubbish. |

firstking01: Giving somebody gift is not wrong but simple courtesy demands that you let your spouse know to avoid unnecessary hintches in the relationship....in the case of the lady in clue she's even married sef and that's the more reason she should let her hubby know irrespective of who gave her the gift....
You were away but i kept seeing your shared post?? ImaIma1: But if he had given them a tray as a gift he wouldn't need to ask permission in case they already have enough trays. Such myopic and egocentric mindset! Whatever they do with their gifts is left to them. It is a wedding gift and she is his daughter. What broke the marriage might not be the gifts bit how the couple handled it. GBAM!!!! Someone please help me with that meme of Drake clapping. |

agog: To be candid with you your father is a short-sighted man because his perception of death at age 50 is so awkward. Many people have live till 80 and beyond and have left enduring legacies behind!!! So why should he be expecting death at age 50, thereby leaving his parental duties undone? At 50, he should really be consolidating his energy on training his children educationally, providing for those who are still living in his house and are unemployed. With this, his memory will be cherished and will not really matter if he actually died at 50 or lived till 90! Maybe you need to talk to other family members to let your dad see reasons on why he shouldnt abdicate his parental responsibilities for a flimsy and unfounded excuses. The consequences of not doing his parental duties are grave and irreparable. And as a matter of urgency he should make efforts to contact your elder siblings who has left the house for a no destination and bring them back before they are negatively influenced outside. Even Donald Trump after he has accomplished a lot decided to run for the Presidency before he turned 70. |

It is sign of a shrinking Nigeria.
Even smaller countries open up more embassies - not closing.
Boko has caused huge capital flight/loss from/for Nigeria in the last 8 years of Boko operation.
Those who run Nigeria will not tell you the truth about how Nigeria is getting poorer, despite oil revenues. I don't know about "shrinking" but this is called tightening your belt and living according to your means. |

signature2012: Used and dump Comey. What i got from this is that its always good to do the right thing no matter what. Sally Yates, former interim atty general got fired by Trump for refusing to defend Trump's unconstitutional travel ban but at least she went away with her head held high. James Comey went against FBI protocol to appease the mob and STILL got fired. Guess who the hero is today? Tomorrow, future FBI recruits would be taught about what Comey did and how it should never be repeated again. Sally Yates would go down as a courageous lady who was courageous in the face of adversity and injustice. |

hostlink: The United States President Donald Trump has sack the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Comey.
Trump, in a letter to Comey, said he appreciated the sacked FBI chief “for informing me on three different occasions that I am not under investigation.
“Dear Director Comey: I have the recently attached letters from the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of the United States recommending your dismissal as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“I have accepted their recommendation and you are hereby terminated and removed from office effective immediately.
“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau.
“It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.
“I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours,” Trump said in a letter dated Tuesday to Comey.
In a statement issued by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, the President said Comey’s sack was with immediate effect.
“Today, President Donald J. Trump informed FBI Director James Comey that he has been terminated and removed from office.
“President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
“The FBI is one of our Nation’s most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement.”
Trump said a search for a new permanent FBI Director will begin immediately.
Comey has come under fire from Democrats since Oct. 28, 2016, when he sent a letter reviewing the emails of the Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, two weeks before the presidential election.
The Democrats have also continued to criticize Comey for not indicting Trump over his possible links to Russia.
Trump’s Republicans on the other hand, criticized him for not carrying out criminal prosecution against Clinton.
Comey appeared on Monday before the Senate Committee investigating the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
