pocohantas: I agree with your points, but why would any woman seek to control and manipulate a man?
People that manipulate and indulge in all sorts of emotional blackmail are weak people who capitalise on the obvious weakness of the other party...to feel superior. I avoid them! GBAM!

Rosskii: The whole terrorism stuff is a western backed ruse to corner the resources of certain countries, through forced 'liberation'. If you research groups like Al Qaeda and Isis, you will find they are funded and supported directly or indirectly by the west. Osama bin Laden was a Saudi Arabian. The Saudis are the US' main ally in that region alongside Israel. The Saudis directly fund Isis. Go and research and quit being a dummy. mikolo80: our ppl don't want to work or risk anything. they want ready made white collar jobs..den no wan enter farm Its not their fault, its the job of the fed govt to create a climate where it is easy to run a business but they have failed to do it time and again. Nigeria consistently ranks as one of the most difficult nations to set up a business in. There is hardly any infrastructure. There are no loans and even if there are, the interest rates are too high (prohibitive) but instead of the govt to focus on that they are trying to stand in the gap to create a wealth themselves which is not sustainable in the long run. |

agabusta: It is quite naive for u to think we don't need to gather foreign intelligence during peace time, and when we seem not to have any enemy.
Some foreign countries are equally gathering intelligence on us and we need to counter this.
That is the kind of mindset that blew the boko haram issue out of proportion. First of all, you need to stop watching too many movies ok? and learn to seperate fact from creative movie writing. Secondly, your assertion that this "is the kind of mindset that blew the boko haram issue out of proportion" is completely wrong! it was the legacy of mismanagement by Nigerian leaders who failed to provide this kids with economic opportunities that most likely led to this and the ensuing incompetence of their response that has led to our current predicament. Learn to diagnose a problem properly. |

sapele914: Ignoramus every country in the world has an intelligence agency as long as you have consulates or embassys abroad you have career spies that work in the embassys gathering information. It will be very foolish to assume that cameroun,Niger,Benin and Chad don't have intelligence agencies or why do they have military attaches in their embassys? Hahahha, you have watched waaaaaaaaaay too many movies i see. In the real world, intelligence gathering has to have a purpose, you just don't do it because everyone does it. You do it because you have a goal: thwarting an hostile element or protecting your interest and each of these goals have to be prioritized in order of importance. Then you build an intelligence gathering apparatus to meet this challenges. For example, Israel is surrounded by enemies all around that probably want to drive them into the sea so they had better spend a significant part of there resources on defense and intelligence gathering. Apart from splinter groups like boko haram there is no other foreign power that is out to get Nigeria so why don't we just have one organization (DSS) to focus on that instead of building another intelligence agency just to feel among?A lot of countries do have an intelligence agency but you have to understand is why they have one. And if they do have, what is the scope and objective of the organization? America is a very wealthy global empire so gathering intelligence on people who might attempt to hurt them or their interests around the globe might be a matter of national security. Nigeria on the other hand is a backwater banana republic in some far flung corner of the world that is of no strategic interest to anyone so what in God's name do we have a National Intelligence agency for and a Department of State Security for? This is what we call organizational redundancy. This is not the cold war era and we are not in an ideological struggle with the Soviets or communism in general. So bros abeg, stop watching too many spy movies and listening to conspiracy theories. |

I have said it time and again that the govt should not be the driver of Agriculture or the economy. It should be the people. That's how you sustain development in the long run. All this nonsense where the govt runs almost everything is the reason this country is still living beyond its potential. |

logica: Different functions. NIA = CIA like DSS=USSS, where Nigeria=US. But yes, we don't need the NIA. It is simply like the Office of the NSA - nothing but an ATM through which money is siphoned by the Presidency under various fictitious endeavors like Arms Deal and Covert Operations. What in goodness name do we need a CIA for? Its not like we are at war with any foreign country? The countries that have powerful intelligence agencies are the big and wealthy countries who have so much influence all over the world (USA, China, former USSR etc) or those who have enemies all over (Israel, North Korea). Last time i checked, Nigeria is cool with Cameroun, Niger, Benin and Chad so what seems to be the problem? If its Boko Haram you are chasing, then you use millitary intelligence but why do you have to go establish another money guzzling bureaucracy like the NIA just because you want to ' feel among'? |

Nigeriadondie: Blame the national assembly members who ve delberately failed to make clear laws on corruption and believe me even if they were prosecuted they wud spend only 2 years in jail. Ask Bode George Of course thieves cannot make laws against thieves. EFCC can only arrest, investigate and prosecute but can't jail the corrupt politicians. At best they cant detain but only for a while. Honestly this is why we need to make provisions for referendum in the constitution so that the President can take an issue to the people if legislature does not want to pass it. This is what Buhari should have done if he was a scholar. The first month of his presidency he should have surrounded himself with the best lawyers and take a thorough look at the entire system including the constitution the by laws of the political regulatory body's like INEC and amend them. For example, adding the aforementioned referendum would have been good so that if the house or the senate don't want to pass a strong anti-corruption law they can take it to the people to vote on it. |

MZLady39: Well brother, You are correct. I really try to avoid politics..because it's a touchy subject (just like "religion"..however I choose to speak about religion out of the two). I haven't ever gone into the "Foreign Affairs" room here in NL for a few reasons. I have a lot to say...but think it's best to keep quiet in that area. President Trump did NOT show humility during the campaign at all. He absolutely displayed disgusting behavior towards my former president Obama. It was one of the most divisive and ugly campaigns that I've ever been alive to witness. I don't condone that behavior from anyone. However, unless I'm moving to a foreign country, the U.S. is where I have lived my entire life...and am still here. He is my president for the next 4 years....so I accept it. There's no need to be bitter, complain or protest. I'm not for that. As I said, there's lots of areas of his presidency that I disagree with BUT, I'm gonna still respect his office and continue to pray for him as I would anyone else Ok, i respect that. |

MZLady39: See that is why...(regardless of some policies that I may not agree with)....I can respect this man as a person and as my president. He is who he is....straight-forward. He could've easily gone in the direction of pride...but it seems he was extremely humble in his answer. As Christians, we are called to pray for our leaders. Where was all this humility during the campaign when he was saying "only i can fix it" where was the humility when he was criticizing Obama while he was in office? |

Education › Re: My Life In India As A Nigerian Student (Thank God I Made It! Baba God Noni) by davidif: 7:10am On May 01, 2017 |
ItzBeenGod: When I went to India to begin my under graduate program in July 2014, I was barely 18, it was my first time out of the country. Before I arrived on India’s soil I had heard so many Africans were there, specifically Nigerians. In India, my focus was on studying hard, doing my parents proud, getting to know the people and culture and, hopefully, learning to speak the language. While I only managed to acquire a smidgen of that, I gained great insight into the nation, Politically, economically, and spiritually. If I could describe the local people who I met in three words they would be: Kind, loving, and welcoming. But my experience helped me to understand that Indian culture carries its share of complex and ugly features too. As an African, I could relate to what it means to be misunderstood, underrepresented, and discriminated. But I developed the ability to understand issues from other points of view while living and studying in India. As a HRM student, I often found myself to be the only African or one of just a few Africans in my classes. Such an experience really allowed me to learn from the perspectives of my cosmopolitan classmates who hailed from countries such as, Pakistan, Nepal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda etc. It was a special chance to view my homeland through the lens of so many non-Nigerian. Many of them desired to visit Nigeria. in search of greater opportunity but were also cognizant of the country's ills. Pursuing my education in India taught me the virtue of humility, and the value of diversity. I will say it was really God all the way, Baba God noni. It wasn’t easy, but it was really worth it. Abeg Nairalanders Make una congratulate una boy na E no dey easy to be a Graduate All my Boss them Moderator Oga Seun Lalasticlala Abeg compensate your Boy with Front Page now...
