Ovamboland: Very funny, those leaders in green energy have burnt coal and still do till today. They are smart enough not to ignore cheap energy rather than remain in stone ages.
Talk of any European country and the so called green champions and I tell you they all burnt coal to develop. And the funny thing is we almost equally share with them any after effect from high carbon footprints.
To be fair they should allow us develop to their level before curbing coal plants The alternative is for them to give us free panels as incentive to not burn coal.
The usa is planning to spend $30 bn a year on heart health issue alone while we cannot find $20 bn for our entire national budget including roads, rail, health, salaries. And you want to compete with such people on even keel?
It's even funny to compare our survival strategy at 180 million with countries with population range of 5-10 million. You fail to grab the urgency to get our population to work, we don't have the luxury of romanticism with clean energy. All that will be handled when our development and resources matches up.
And all those places you mentioned to be polluted, Nigerians will go there in droves to escape to where jobs are available and they have 'light' Dude, we are blessed with something better than coal. It's called natural gas. It's cheaper and cleaner. So why would we want to get into that industry. |

0b10010011: IMF has never wished Nigeria well
Ever since there implant, Okonjo Iweala, left our financial corridors, it's been a blow they re yet to recover from Haha Haha what an ignorant statement. Your govt went to borrow money from the IMF earlier this year but they bounced you guys. They said you didn't have a solid plan haha and you are getting mad at them? Some of you sound like the guy who went to roast a girl and when the girl rejected you, you now turned round and called her ugly haha. The truth of the matter is that people that come to the IMF to borrow money are people whose economy is in trouble in the first place and refused to make good decisions earlier. Thats why I.M.F are called the lender of last resort in other words, they borrow you money when no one else is willing to even touch you anymore (e.g Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, India, Portugal, Greece etc) |

That sowore decided to become more stupid than he usually is is not for me to know Dude, this guy lied about going to Harvard. Lied about attending LSE and here you are defending him as if you know him personally or were a classmate of his? What is wrong with you Nigerians always defending the indefensible? Why do you guys like defending your corrupt leaders simply because they are from your party? Are you blind going to see what corruption has done to this great country? Abi una no get conscience? Wrong is always Wrong no matter who does it. If this were saner climes, Dino would simply own up to his lies, apologize and step down but in Naija he will deny it and his supporters would deny it with him. The press has done a great job investigating and instead of praising them for their work you are here demonizing them as if no one in your party is not capable of wrong doing? Na wa for una o and they will be wondering why Nigeria is not prosperous? Hmm, her I wonder why. |
Politics › Re: Ambode To Pump $60m Into Lekki Free Zone Project by davidif: 7:22pm On Mar 25, 2017 |
LoveMachine: Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday, said about $60million would be pumped into the ongoing development of the Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ) within the next six months.
The governor, who spoke when he met with stakeholders at the Zone, assured that he remains committed to addressing the challenges and ensuring the project is actualised.
“I want to assure that our financial commitment to LFTZ will be improved in 2017, that is, we will accelerate to quickly clear our outstanding counterpart funding for the Zone.
“In essence, we expect that in the next six month, we should be having an investment of over $60 million. I believe that when we invest our share of the fund and China Africa Lekki Investment Limited (CALIL) does, it will bring a major development for the Zone,” he said.
The governor said that putting the fund at the Zone at a time when Nigeria was gradually easing its way out of recession would not only improve infrastructure and boost development, but will also help attract more investors to the Zone.
He said over $6billion has been invested in the LFTZ in the last few years, with Dangote Group providing a lion share of about $4billion.
Ambode said: “Over $6 billion has been invested in the Zone in the last few years with Dangote share in the lump sum at $4 billion and we have a land space of over 16,000 hectares of which, just a portion of it is activated.
“We are all aware of the investments by Dangote Group and the China Africa Lekki Investment Limited (CALIL), had done as it concerns the partnership they signed with the Lagos State Government. And this partnership made the company own 60 percent while Lagos owns 40 percent.”
Ambode also assured that work would commence on the Lekki Deep Sea Port next month, saying that it was also a critical infrastructure that would attract more investors into the Zone and ensure return on investment.
“With the ongoing construction of the seaport, airport and others, it is obvious that a single road isn’t sufficient for the Zone.
“It is now clear that we have to dualise the Lekki-Eleko Road beyond the Zone in order to withstand the influx of vehicle that will be making use of the road to access the Zone. With this, we will be able to sustain the investments in the area,” the governor said.
He expressed optimism that with the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Dangote Refinery and Lekki Airport coming on board, the Lagos East axis would witness massive economic turnaround within the next two years.

Recently he called and said he wants to settle down and apologised for his past behaviour saying it was because he has this trust issue with ladies but he said he is trying to change........i said fine, he's even planning to come and see my family in June. But two days ago, i needed to clear the air on something so i asked him via whatsapp that my girlfriend wants to divorce the husband because he slapped her and he condemned the act saying it could lead to battery if proper measure is not taken. I also asked him that my friend's husband left her in d hosptal when she was hospitalized saying she has family so they should pay d bill. He found out that i was referring to him but his reply was that he should have given me two more slaps as prescribed and y would he pay the hospital bill when i was taking advice from my girlfriend.... ttmacoy: There is no point beating the horse on this. Young or not the website for the summit is poor and suspect and I will not logically pay money based on what I saw on the site. Imagine the conversation with the VO, so what topic or speaker are you looking forward to hearing at the summit. errr I don't know the speakers yet. What companies etc. are you hoping to meet, errr it wasn't on the website. You see how silly that will sound?
Yes I agree the summit can either be held in the US or Africa, but saying companies will not send people to Africa is wrong. If a company sees the opportunities she claims on the summit website trust me they will send people. I have already posted links to previous similar summits held in Africa e.g. Addis Ababa and there was clearly photos of prior events with lots and lots of people so that puts your theory companies will not come to Africa to bed.
Again I ask where are photos of prior events and delegates and speakers? Or is the event too young to take photos in this day and age where smartphones all have cameras?
Can you honestly tell me if I sent you this link and told you hey this is an amazing summit go register $500, you will look at that site and pay for it? Can you honestly look at that link and tell me you will pay for it?
http://www.agedsummit.com/
I can assure you I have enough corporate experience to know companies and investors will fly to Nigeria if there are opportunities that warrant it and I have sent you an example of the Addis Ababa event which was full of people so I don't get why you keep claiming people will not come to Africa. I have worked for investment banks and currently a consulting firm and so I do not lack corporate experience.
Look at the objective of the summit, it is to introduce American companies to the lots of opportunities in Africa so if she has run this event 3 to 4 times why is there no information on past events, past successes etc? Instead you have copy and paste text from the UN climate change publication, and copy and paste from Forbes on iRoko. I'm sorry but I will NOT pay for such an event, and if I was a visa officer I would have lots of questions and the fact every single attendee was refused across multi African embassies suggest the summit must have been blacklisted.
Why is there only one sponsor of the event, literally this Mary Flower who heads both the consulting firm and the black alumni association, why only those 2 parties linked by 1 person. Those are the type of logical questions I would expect asked before paying money and I would expect VOs will also look at all this and if I was a visa officer the fact I can't even pay for such event means I will not issue the visa. Dude, i said in my earlier post that only the wealthy and large multinational companies can afford to send there people on some trip to a far flung corner of the world. The small to midsize to small companies won't. Why would i want to risk exposure to countries with political instability, weak laws and infrastructure. Secondly, this is not the first time they have hosted the event. They have hosted it multiple times and they say they usually get only a 40% rejection rate so why 100% this time around? uhn? DirewolfofStark: I think you're confusing trolls with spam. What was that you said again? Reporting spam on TwitterReporting spam on Twitter What is spam? "Spam" refers to a variety of prohibited behaviors that violate the Twitter Rules. Spam can be generally described as unsolicited, repeated actions that negatively impact other users. This includes many forms of automated account interactions and behaviors as well as attempts to mislead or deceive users. Behaviors that constitute "spamming" on Twitter will continue to evolve. There is a list of examples of what constitutes “spamming” in the Twitter Rules. Here are some common tactics that spam accounts often use: Posting harmful links (including links to phishing or malware sites) Aggressive following behavior (mass following and mass unfollowing for attention) Abusing the reply or mention functions to post unwanted messages to users Creating multiple accounts (either manually or using automated tools) Posting repeatedly to trending topics to try to grab attention Repeatedly posting duplicate updates Posting links with unrelated tweets https://support.twitter.com/articles/64986#
