Lemme make it easy to understand.

The way you love girls, that's the way gays love boys.

I don't know if that's simple enough.

You didn't choose to be straight, the same way they didn't choose to be gay.

You hit puberty and discovered you like girls.

Gays, on the other hand, discovered that they have no atom of sexual attraction toward the opposite gender.

That doesn't mean they can't be friends with them, but romantically, NO.

That disgust you feel when you think of being with a man, is the same disgust they feel when they think of being with a woman.

Being straight, gay, lez, bi, and so on are purely mental.

But since we have millions of gays who didn't choose to be gay, what do you suggest they do?

To live the rest of their life in a mental institution while you enjoy what you deemed normal?

They deserve to live happily, and that entails being with the person they love, without fear of being bullied.

You can't marginalized a group because they are different. That's insensitive!

Live and let live.

Well your submission lacks logic. I mean I can wake up in the morning and come and claim your house. The way you feel it's normal to buy or build a house is the same way it's normal for me to enter any house I like and call it my own. You have to respect my wish also. Everywhere nature as proved that like poles repel while unlike attracts. From magnet to animals and even charges. Even the reproductive organs are meant for one to enter the other. Infact 2 women can't continue life likewise 2 men. So please forgive me if I insist that they are actually cray.

I opened this thread for us to do some soul searching. If we keep minding our business in things that hurts society we are hurting ourselves. If not now then in the future. Remember the child that throws stone in the market is likely to hit his mother's head.

Acidosis,

Who or what is an anti-moralist? Whose morals aren’t they adhering to?

Rape is a crime not a punishment.

If Nigerians spent less time policing other people’s private lives and actually speak up when an actual CRIME is committed, we might have a better Nigeria today.

Her boss had no business or right to rifle through her personal inbox and you shouldn’t be okay with bosses firing their employees because of their personal life (except the ones that violates a company’s official code of conduct), if bosses are allowed to have that power, no one will be working in Nigeria.

Are you aware abortion is a crime or you think it's only rape that is a crime?

You actually have it backwards, Nigerians will never mind their business when it comes to people’s lives and their personal choices e.g when to marry? When to have a child? How many children? Etc. However they will look the other way when a crime is committed, e.g 419, domestic violence, rape etc.

Just like you OP, you’re seriously comparing criminals committing a crime to a young girl’s private life?? Her boss has no business with how she lives her life, his only business is how she does the job she’s been paid to do.

I do not compare crime/sin they are all equally weighted. The so called lesser sin lead to the bigger ones the criminals commit. If you don't see the potential crime coming from this lady's present actions then you know nothing.

I recently stumbled upon a post on this platform https://www.nairaland.com/5907336/what-found-sales-girls-facebook

The response from so many people explains why our society is dysfunctional. Nigerians really have no idea how "minding our business" breaks the societal norms. A society where robbers, kidnappers and all sort of evil people live among us waiting for the next crime is not the best for us.

We need to learn how to start interfering and doing our bit to nip this evil early rather than mind our business and wait for it to grow big enough to consume us all.

We keep complaining when a crime is committed. Infact if not for the recent public outcry, rape was gradually becoming an acceptable norm to overlook on the platter of "she spent my money". Things are getting out of hand gradually. We need to return to the time when we took care of our children together.

I will end this by saying that I do not approve of snooping and getting into people's private life. However, if you do and encounter something of concern don't play the ignorance card. Do your bit to help the situation because everything happens for a reason. Stay safe.

Amotolongbo:
We should learn how to separate business from personal life.

She is your sales girl, relate with her strictly on business and show less concern on her personal life.

The way I’m reading your message, there is already a growing emotion in you already towards the girl, the reason you felt so highly disappointed and wanna lay her off, not because she is underperforming but the way she chose to live her life, which should be less of your concern.

In as much she is performing her responsibilities to your satisfaction and not using her “wayward” life to affect your business like she did the first time she went for abortion, leave her alone.

The only reason why you can lay her off is if she goes on abortion again and that makes her to take a time out of work and underperforming.

I disagree with this advice. Please if you are a Christian you cannot allow evil to surround your environment. Abortion is a big crime. If you want to stay out of it please let her go. However, for me I will find a way to ensure she is turned away from that lifestyle and into a better one. As a community we need to look out for one another, there is a reason people come into our circle. This selfish way of living is destroying the world.

It is unfortunate we have lots of ignorant comments on this thread, accusing and insulting the woman for absconding or running away.
For the avoidance of doubt, let me explain how it works, firstly, sample is collected from suspected patient and sent to lab for confirmation. The patient is released to go pending the outcome of the result.
The result takes approximately 48 hours to be out.
If the result comes out positive, the patient will be contacted and duly quarantined.
From the twitter post of the governor, they already have the patient's information including her residential address. What happened to visiting the address ?
It is wrong exposing her confidential info and calling her out online.
Her number could innocently not be reachable as a result of some certain unavoidable factors.

Madam I too know, how did you know her house have not been checked before declaring her wanted. Or has all the cases been openly declared like this by the governor?

yungmin:
Some of the evils of quota system

In 2014, I and several other Nigerian University graduates had been shortlisted to write the Presidential Special Scholarship (PRESSID) designed exclusively for First Class Nigerian graduates who wanted to pursue both Masters and PhD in any top 25 Universities in the world. President Goodluck Jonathan had set the scheme up and the idea was to build a strong team of brilliant Nigerians who will come back to serve the country years later.

There were a little above one thousand of us who wrote the exam at CHAMS, Abuja. At the time, I was already lecturing in UNN so most of my friends (who were also my colleagues) enrolled. 16 of us in total. It was a computer-based test so we knew our fate instantly. I had scored 94% in the exam. In fact, 15 of us from UNN scored between 80 and 97%. Man! We came out of the exam hall completely joyous. We were so sure we had got the scholarship. And we were right. Sometime in February 2015, the list of 101 successful candidates was shortlisted in the National Dailies. Fifteen of us were on that list. I had applied to Princeton University, Imperial College London and University of Toronto already. That phase of our lives was glorious.

Fast forward to March 2015, Goodluck lost the elections to Mr. Buhari. That was where things started to take a new turn. Shortly after Mr Buhari was sworn in, he had recalled the list and complained that there was no single northerner on it. He believed it was an agenda of the South. Right before our eyes, meritocracy was shortchanged for Federal character. It was first like a joke, but we all lost that huge scholarship. It was worth about $250,000 per person (tuition and living expenses inclusive across 5 years). Before then I had little faith in the country but when this happened, I became weary of the country.

Thankfully, later that year, I got a full scholarship from University of Toronto for my Masters and PhD (6 years in total). Of those other 14 friends of mine, 13 of them have also moved since then - US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Japan etc. Obviously we moved on but truth is, the life we have now was afforded to us by the Government of another country, many of which will seduce you with permanent residency and citizenship afterwards.

Any nation that shortchanges merit for anything else will fall. Nigeria has the brightest people, yet, we are where we are (in Osibanjo's voice).
These people will corroborate my story as they were also winners of the PRESSID scholarship

These people will corroborate my story as they were also winners of the PRESSID scholarship: Odoeze Jideofor Okagu Ogadimma Olikagu Sylvia Chisom Hyacinth Ali David Chukwuma Izuogu Samuel Olisa Chima Eke and others.

Sad!
~Chidozie Ojobor

Really a sad one. Similar situation almost played out in NLNG around the same period only that northerners were added to some merit list and many wait listed were dropped. I was affected by the NLNG decision but I really see wisdom with federal character especially if we want to remain a peaceful nation. I believe someday when the issues causing the gap is addressed true merit will take its place.

However, for your case the NLNG method should have been adopted rather than deny people who truly merited the scholarship. Good to know you guys turned out well so did I.

If a condition is stated at the beginning, and it's abided to at the end of the process it is considered fair. If the process already says we will employ from 36 states plus FCT then merit will be considered at state level. We may not like federal character but if genuinely implemented it can help a nation to bond. I believe most people tout this recruitment as fair maybe because many "sourceless" people got it. Cheers man we will practice the real merit someday.
Licht:
The phrase "Federal Character" means merit has been sacrificed already! Hence you can never claim that the any process that is subject to federal character is on merit, because federal character implies that some people who are less performing, say, from the educationally less developed States, will find their way in, above candidates who totally flawed them from the educationally advanced states.

How do you deny a candidate from the south-south who scored 80% and allow a candidate from the north-east who scored 40%, and still have the audacity to say such a process was on merit? No! It's not. We've already used federal character to sacrifice merit in order to favour some folks. Ditto for why cut-off mark for entry into the Federal Government Colleges varies. A candidate from Zamfara State will have a cut-off mark of 23% & a candidate from Ogun State will have a cut-off mark of 85%, and you call that process merit-based? So, such a process lacks merit from the beginning once federal character principles apply.

Ask candidates that went for interview at the Towers and they will tell you for a fact that you hardly hear names from the geographical "upper" regions of the country when names were being called in the amphitheater. It was claimed that some powerful folks were not happy with that & decided to "adjust" the process to aid more people from those "upper" regions of the country to come in. For a process that started speedily to now take nine months between conclusion of interviews to issuance of APLs....

Lastly, note the use of the phrase "National Spread" which the NNPC used in its communique, it showed a desperation to validate the process. They've turned it to a game of luck.

My only regret with this NNPC EH issue is the risk one took to get out of location just to attend the interview. We even spent money on flights and hotel accommodations and suddenly we are not given a chance. Simply because one man has decided that contract staff who we don't know how they got there in the first place should be considered. I hope this is some joke because if it turns out to be true Nnpc should prepare for class action.

Thanks for the move guys. We are using the hashtag #2019NNPCRecruitment.

We are not relenting. Even if we move on, let us know we did something about it. Just like many people here, we traveled, studied hard, prepared ourselves, created WhatsApp groups and spent money to ensure we gave NNPC our best. To those calling us fools, I understand your fears and your opinion is respected but we must do our best to see that the conclusion of this recruitment sees the light day.

I am willing to contribute money if anyone wants to publish a newspaper article like people did in 2012 before NNPC Management yielded.

We are doing our little part. Let it be that at least we did something. Keeping quiet is a bigger risk than making a fruitless effort.

Remember #2019NNPCRecruitment on Twitter.

Love only.

I have not commented here before but I am not new on this street. Abort this Twitter things because it won't end well. NLNG peeps did the same and it ended badly even though we had waited for years. Putting pressure on management makes them take drastic decisions. I am an EH for superintendent position.

The Obi of a man is a bigot, there is no question about it. But does it really matter if Atiku drops him or not. Only some very few northerners will vote for Atiku and that's if he pays them a good amount of money. The man is not just popular in the north. Buhari might not have performed to people's expectations, but that doesn't mean northerners will vote for Atiku.

And of course, the Obi factor will still affect the little votes he(Atiku) will get from the north in a negative way. Fact.

Thank you for agreeing that the north plays ethnic politics. I am sure Nigerians know that whoever wins this election will never have any detrimental effect to only Igbo race. If we vote the right candidate we all enjoy, on the other hand if we vote the wrong candidate we will all suffer even though some will suffer more than others. It most disheartening that two men who are better are VP candidates instead of Presidential candidates. Please wake me up when Obi contests against Fashola or Ribadu.
