My brp just dropped when my application is still on “Application received by DMC”. Is this successful or should I say am safe to celebrate.

I will share my application timeline and documents probably after the close of work today or after my collection mail because there is a lot my application can contribute to this forum. A lot..

This sort of mistake do happen so that's fine

The ECO will hopefully be patient to search through and/or send an NSF if they haven't found one


Alternatively, if you haven't done your biometrics you can do a cover letter stating the location of certain documents so the ECO is aware of what catergory they are but that's just an option

The code for BRP should be stated in your CAS, have a look at it please

The documents upload will be after submitting your application, paying relevant IHS and visa fees, you will need to sign in using the link sent to your email, select the provide biometrics option and the choose an appointment, if it is self service then you upload yourself if it's is assisted then you need to take your documents to TLS on the day of your biometrics

Hello guys,

Please a cousin of mine was deported alongside her husband and 1 Child from Canada after a failed asylum claim in 2016.

Now she got admission for Masters in the UK.
A lot of pple over there according to her are advising she leaves out that detail in her visa application since their then passport was not released at MMIA.

The question is do we have pple that have gone through this experience that can advice her on what to do?

My own opinion is that she should include it but I guess pple with UK experience are advising her otherwise.

If I may add to what others have mentioned

1. Since you hid this information from your Uni if anything goes won't you won't get a refund

2.You filled in a shorter date when the duration is clearly longer, can I ask how you intend to provide evidence for study gap seeing you were in Malaysia for 4years, if your MSc wasn't declared then I assume your BSc is even more years accrued?

1. Is it compulsory I declare my masters in Malaysia (I spent 4 years there) I didn’t declare it during admission stage.
2. When I was filling the visa application, there is a question that says have you visited any country in the last 10 years. I can’t say NO because I gave birth to my daughter in Malaysia... her birth certificate is from Malaysia and her passport was issued in Malaysia.


I filled in Malaysia but for visiting not studying and the date of entry I put was around that time I gave birth to my daughter. Please is it okay or will they verify the period of my stay in Malaysia.

Good Morning all,
I'm billed to do biometric tomorrow. I applied for my visa on 20th of Oct, printed my statement from 20sep to 19th Oct, 2022 to fall within 28 to 31 days rule. Four days after(24/10/2022) I applied for visa for my wife and children cos I couldn't get forex on time. I printed my bank statement again from 22sep to 23 Oct to use for their own so as to fall within 31 days of their visa application.
My question is have I done the correct thing printing that statement for them or I should not bother printing statement for them but they should rely on the one I printed for myself which is from 20sep to 19 Oct.
Why I'm asking this question is I have been hearing do not recycle fund and I don't understand this. Kindly advise.

If it is not on your previous Uni's letterhead it is no longer an academic reference but a personal reference

If that is what your Uni is requesting for then that's fine if not then you have to provide the proper reference on a proper letterhead

As early as when you are financially ready to do so

Ensure you also have sufficient time on your current BRP and you have to make sure she joins you before PSW visa if you choose to go down that route after study


My advise 6months before your PSW application and BRP expiration whichever comes first

MA is in the UK already and dependant is applying. POF for dependant is in dependant's name.
MA indicated during application that nobody is financially dependent on her. The dependent indicated same too.

For financial evidence, the two different accounts for MA and dependant was uploaded showing required sums.

Anything to worry about here?

I understand the unsettling feeling but there is nothing to worry about

You might get the link sent prior to your visa approval because that is when the ECO may spot it and initiate the link for payment

You may even pay your IHS when you have arrived the UK If your visa is successful


You don't need to generate a new IHS no please

I don't know how long it'll take before it comes although it's just 2 working days ago since I did my biometrics but I'm a bit worried as to how long it might take to come. However, is it possible I go to their website and input the ihs reference number to make payments there?

Please have a look at the caseworker guidance documents under relationship section for more types of evidence you will need, again ensure they span across minimum 2years and are verifiable

You can get married anytime just provide the relevant documents to prove your relationship is substantial

Apart from your certificate please include other evidence like joint bank statements,bills, investments ,pictures, emails/chats, hospital letter if both were registered as a couple in same hospital etc

So if your were self employed from.xyz to XYZ provide CAC or if you were employed previously and have a reference and then moved on to your own business you can provide both

Also, you can call UKVI and seek more guidance on this if that helps

They may be able to tell you the status of your application and if varying it will be ideal

Completely agree but then if a decision has been made she can't vary anymore, at the moment she doesn't know if a decision has been made it not

The application seems to be well over 2months and it may simply be admin delays
My concern was getting stuck in the middle, reason I suggested they wait till they get a decision since it's taken this long

Applying for a variation when the current permission is already out of status is also another thing worth considering

But I guess the OP may decide to do so

since the person is in the UK. … they can make another application even with a pending one by varying the application. It is called varying your application. They need to check the policy on the visa fee refunds
Also she wont be illegal as long as she made an in time application and it is with the home office … if they use 10 years to decide, she will be legal for tht 10 years until the decision is made.

You can't apply for 2 different visa categories at the same time

You have to withdraw one and put in the other,the risk now is her current visa is already expired,if she withdraws that application then she starts to become illegal

I assume the reason she requested for an extension was to repeat a course?

My advise is to wait till the previous application comes through and then she puts in a new application for skilled workers visa, she has up to 3months to use her certificate of sponsorship (COS)

If the time elapses,her employer will need to reissue another COS.
If she moves to an illegal status there's nothing they can do for her

Please, if you have been in this situation before, or have heard anyone who had been, kindly help!!!

My sister is presently doing a postgraduate programme, had a 3-month extension so he was given another COS for 5 months in order to apply for visa to cover the extension. She will finally complete her programme by middle of November.

She applied for the visa in July 2022. Her last visa expired since August. She is still awaiting response from Home Office.

Now, she has got a new job. Start date is November 20. They have issued a COS.

The question is, can she apply for the work visa even if the other visa is awaiting decision? Please help us, we don't want to waste money!!
