all4naija:
I don't still understand your argument. If you didn't understand what I connote by gene mapping sorry to say you know nothing about genetic engineering. On the other hand it was all in response to you refutation about DNA which I wanted you to understand that Scientists are beginning to have understanding of it beyond your shallow supernatural idea attached to it. We are talking about how much we have come to understand DNA is nothing supernatural.

Stop compounding issue, little grammarian!

Sam7:
I am truly shocked that persons like all4naija and thehomer are writing unimaginable things on this thread. It is very scary. They think they know it but they are far from the truth. Very far. They couldn't provide answers to my questions and they have not in any way managed to confound the logic behind all I wrote. They keep asking why is God hiding and I keep wondering how insanity can fill a person's mind that he needs His Maker to explain to him why he cannot see him. I am sure if God today shows himself to someone, these same people will say it is that person's imagination and if God shows himself to them, I am so sure they will say they are under the influence of a drug or something. I think taking time to explain to people like these will be an effort in futility. As I had earlier written, to believe there is no God, requires faith and to believe there is God also requires faith. Nobody is looking for excuses for God but I will ask you guys why it takes drilling to discover oil and other minerals. I will ask why it has taken many years to create a microscope. Why couldn't man make a microscope in the stone age? Why in the 18-20th century? All your talk about science is based on simple lack of understanding of common sense. What is science based on? Research and inventions based on research results. Can a man who has not been to the moon explain how the moon's surface look like? definitely not. That means your research conclusions will be based on the limitations of your research. It takes faith to believe the scientists and their conclusions and it takes faith to believe that the Most High God created all. It is so sad that little creatures like these guys (all4naija & co) think someone that made the entire universe can be availabe for your physical eyes to see. Can you cope with His Presence? Leave out the descriptions of the Bible and let us talk logic. Is it logical for someone that creates such a massive thing as this universe be so simple for you to see with your unclad eyes? I am sure if someone physical appears to you tomorrow and claims he created everything, you sure will slap him till kingdom come. Does it make sense to think God is hiding? Why will He hide for you? He already knows that if you cannot believe His existence through what you see around you, then there is nothing else you can believe save the opposites even if He specially visits you. You will choose consistently to disagree because you have made up your mind He is not existent and why do you believe that? Simply because you don't see Him. What do you expect? It is my prayer that God will open your eyes to see that you are nothing but a very small piece of the massive creation of a great God. Simple.
Do you even think about what you write? Why has it taken man a long time to develop a microscope? Research and development is the answer. You build on previous knowledge to improve things. The way we went from still picture, to black and white cathode ray TV, to coloured CRTV, to plasma , It doesn't take faith to believe scientists and their conclusion, because they offer hypothesis, theories, concrete proofs and replicate their results. While everything about your God is make belief and can never be questioned. You believe blind in your God and question science, yet you go to hospital when you are sick, travel with a car and air planes, watch television, talk on cell phone, etc, ALL PRODUCTS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. And after you have been cured in the hospital, you give thanks to God and forget the effort of the many scientists involved in saving your life, whilst praising the Almighty who permitted you to be sick in the first place.

lagcity:
People say, "look at the animals, the universe, the mountains, our DNA and all these complex systems, there has to be an intelligent designer because all these things can't just pop out nowhere." But one thing that baffles me is that how can an "intelligent designer" just pop out of nowhere? Does this mean that the intelligent designer was also created by another intelligent designer and so on and so on? undecided huh Can the first intelligent designer please stand up? I have completely given up on these questions. The only thing i know is that i know nothing. In fact, if you look at me and ask me, "hey, Lagcity, are u real; are u alive and do u exist? My answer to you will be, "I have no idea undecided!" And i am not being sarcastic or being a smarta.ss. I just don't know!
You make perfect sense, and frankly, all you have said applies to me VERBATIM. But to the religious nut jobs, you my friend, are nuts cheesy
I will try to address the foolishness of all you atheist with these words of Jesus:

", O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it but the sign of the prophet Jona" - Matthew 16 vs 3b -4

Jesus said these words to the pharisees and Sadducees when they wanted him to show them a sign that he actually is of God. God exists and Jesus Christ is His son. There is power in that name JESUS that is more than any other power you can imagine.

Having said this, there are signs all around us that God exists. The parting of the Red Sea is still a mystery till today and Science has not been able to explain it neither has that occurence ever happened after that one time. Israel attributes it to their God - Jehovah, the same God that Christians worship today.

In contemporary times, the complexity of the DNA and the depth of information encoded in it explains it all that creation was not an accident. It is a careful work of design by a supernatural force which is God Almighty. Have you guys ever wondered how come the DNA is unique for every humans? Do you think that just happened? How about your finger prints being customized to you? Is that an accident?

In conclusion, I pray that you guys should have an encounter with God. But be assured that God is not man and has nothing to prove to you.
Bla bla bla, all based on some crappy old book.

God is a figment of man's imagination who was invented by herb (Hashish) smoking Middle Easterners who lived in tough condition. They created this stupid thing called religion which has been f.oolishly and blindly embraced by Africans. Mind you, religion (which preaches God) permitted slavery, murder (read Exodus 31:15), paedophilia (Mohammed and Amina), etc. There is no such thing as God, for if there were, he will reveal himself and be fair. He supposedly made a promise not to destroy the world with water, yet he sent Tsunami to kill more than 15,000 in Japan, caused the earthquake in Haiti, the famine in Somalia, do I need to go on? If there is a God, then he is probably very dumb, otherwise he wouldn't create people like Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, you can add Abacha and the crop of politicians we have today. Even IF there is a God who is supposedly enjoying himself in heaven, then he doesn't deserve any respect. He is more evil than satan and they should be friends and live together in Hell where they both belong. The religious nut jobs  will tell you there is God, yet the dum.b fo.ols have not seen him. If anyone sees God, tell him to stick a finger up his.

PoliticsRe: Okorocha Begins Delivery Of Free Kerosene In Imo State by deadie(m): 7:14pm On Aug 08, 2011
Okoro2015:
Why can't we put issues straight. We should leave this man alone to face the business of governance. When did NNPC's free kerosene distribution to all states in the Federation turn to Okorocha's feat? Even NTA news last night made this clear and yet people are here misplacing issues. We believe in Rochas and in his capability to deliver to the Imo Electorate. We know it's too early to assess him but we strongly see Orji Uzor's traits in the way his propaganda machine is working.
chamber2:
Sir, this is a short term measure designed to reduce the impact of the hike in kerosene price in the state. This is very laudable. The problem with Nigeria is that we rarely make provisions for emergencies and when they occur we feel very devastated. Okorocha has made a good move, albeit being a short run measure. Imo state, in the last couple of years witnessed the most bizarre of government, and outright disregard for the plight of the people. Rochas has come to prove once again that govt belongs to the people and not a few priviledged politicians who do not know when price of kerosene goes up.Atleast, till the next few months i may not be sending money home just for my mother to buy kerosene grin It is laudable and deserves to be encouraged.

Also, your comment about the appointments made by Rochas is far from being the truth. The fact is, People volunteered to work for the government of imo state under the umbrella of the Imo Rescue Team and non of them is in the payroll of the state contrary to what a few disgruntled elements want us to believe. I happen to be somehow close to one of the appointees and he told me pointblank that theirs' is a voluntary commitment as a way of identifying with the govt of imo state and an avenue to give back to the society. Hitherto, these positions were decorated with so many entitlements, but now people are ready to work for the govt on voluntary grounds.

Attracting investors is not a one day affair, it's a process and so far, Rochas is on course. Also, Imo state is a civil servant state and cannot be compared with states like Lagos, kano, and Rivers. But the state ranks among the most urbanised state in Nigeria. The govt of Imo state is also among the few governors that accepted to pay the minimum wage , so that is not the case. I would rather prefer that the money be used to buy kerosene for the people rather than see a few politicians loot the money.
Johnpaul2k2:
Stoooopid and ungrateful NL peolple, then was the scarcity of kerosene complains , now is Childish governance. this is for people staying in imo state. if you don't Like it , Go to HELL angry angry angry angry
Rochas, continue your Good Work

You and your crew are here once again peddling false news and rubbish. Why won't you guys just let others be? Whenever theres good news you must come and ruin it with statements like "Most Imolites live outside Imo state.
houvest:
Very good stop gap solution in the short run while a long term solution is found. Go on Rochas. Let the nay sayers keep moaning.
Obinoscopy:
I just pray Okorocha maintains the tempo, he will go places politically if he continues like this.

I wish him the very best and I'll keep praying for him so that he won't derail along the way

^^^Stop talking rubbish. The idea is ''sustainable'' if we WANT it to be ''sustainable''.

You have 40 billion barrels of crude oil sitting under your feet and you're telling me distributing free kerosene to the poor is ''unsustainable''? Because Oyibo taught you the word ''unsustainable''?

Nonsense.

Thanks.
The first guy quoted (Rossikk) seems to have deleted his post which I have copied from another dum.b source who thinks it is smart move. You just showed how ignorant you are. So we have 40 billion barrels of crude oil and that makes giving free kerosene is sustainable? Well here are some questions for you.

1. Do you extract and process it yourself to get the kerosene? And if you do, who pays for the production process?
2. Judging by your point, fuel and diesel should be made free, don't you think so?
3. Why stop there, we have limestone, and agricultural products, so when is cement, food and meat gonna be made free for all? I am awaiting your response Mr. Adviser.  grin grin grin

Distributing kerosene FREE of charge? I don't know this guy but all I have read about him has been positive. However, this act has erased the my regard for him, and here is why.

1. He said that the program is sustainable: Well it is not. A sustainable program generates the revenue to pay for itself. This one does not, it is a draws of resources from the state.

2. The product can never be evenly distributed. Some households may not have the opportunity to go, and other may have 10 family members who queues, gets the product and maybe resell it.

3. Free kerosene will not uplift people from poverty. With the money invested in buying kerosene, he can better equip the secondary schools  with free computers, 20 - 50 for each school (or 100 - 1000 if the money to be spent is that much) and provide them with internet connection so that each student will have at least 2 hrs computer time per week.  This will open their minds and with good tutoring, be exposed to scientific materials and get materials to solve their home works.

I could go on listing better areas where the money could be better utilised. Despite my criticism of this act, he does seem to have a good mind and I commend him for that. At least, he probably is not milking his state like the eediot in Abia State. I learnt he has 30 or 50 advisers, seems to me like they need to be replaced.

Andre Uweh:
@The poster, the groom buys all the items handed over to him in the list as well as pay the bride price. Some of the items are in this photograph below.
Andre Uweh:
The bride's family has to organise for the actual Igba Nkwu ceremony at the bride's family as Igbo tradition demands. I supported my wife's family during my own Igba nkwu ceremony.
I agree with almost all you said. While the bride's family is responsible for the organisation of the "Igba Nkwu", the groom may still provide the materials depending on circumstances. Usually, if the family of the bride are buoyant, they may shoulder the responsibility, otherwise it is left to the man.
