Did your Obaseki agree to concede any of his appointments to the genuine legacy PDP members? Youths blinded by sentiments and self delusion. |

Class01: So from what you are seeing happening in Edo State now, do you still honestly believe Obaseki was a lesser evil to Ize Iyamu? If so, then how come Ize Iyamu, the bigger evil, was preferred in 2016 according to the same you? And how exactly did you come to the conclusion that Edo people prefer having Atiku, a Fulani, succeed Buhari - another Fulani, over Tinubu? If anything, only Obaseki and the few benefiting from him currently support a Fulani-Fulani succession. No rational thinking Edo State person would accept that. And majority of Edo people currently hate Obaseki and anything which has to do with him directly or indirectly.
Seems you don't get the angle. We have no issue with Eze Iynamu infact we voted him as our governor ahead of Obaseki when Oshomole was leaving office. when vote counting was ongoing, he was leading and at mid night, INEC said they will continue the counting in the morning and when they came back, Obaseki was declared winner.
Key note.
1) When we voted Eze Iyamu ahead of Obaseki, it was not about Obaseki but was because we had issue with Oshomole and Obaseki was coming through Oshomole.
2) Fast track forward, When we voted Obaseki ahead of Eze Iyamu, it was not about Eze Iyamu or Obaseki. But Eze Iyamu was coming through Oshomole and we have issues with Oshomole.
If you don't understand it from the angle of lesser evil over greater evil, try understand it from the aspect of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". As for Tinubu. We don't have issues with him except that
1) He look dementia. 2) We have issue with APC 3) We have issues with Buhari and his government and he is coming from Buhari.
Even your shifting of goalpost from greater evil vs lesser evil to enemy of my enemy doesn't still cut it. One would assume that political enmity should be premised on bad records and poor leadership. However, this doesn't seem to be your definition of it because when Osunbor came through Obasanjo, Tony Aneni godfatherism and rigging all combined in 2007, you opted for him over the same Oshiomhole who had no such factors behind him. So your alternate theories fail. Likewise in 2015, Buhari came through Obasanjo whom your likes perceive as a statesman yet you resisted him. In 2019, Atiku came through the same Obasanjo and this time you voted for him. So your theory of whom a candidate is coming through is something you yourself have not consistently held onto. Try proposing another hypothesis. |

Skty: The guy @deadlytruth is probably from Osun state, angry about the 'Edo nor be Lagos' mantra....and disgrace to his fav - BAT..he knows nothing about Edo State By this alone you have just indicated that you are rather the one not from Edo State as no true Edo State native resorts to name calling or accusing those who reason differently from his as being from elsewhere. Only Ipobians are known for that and I suspect you are one. Edo no be Lagos is already stale in Edo State and only non Edo State natives and non-residents are unaware of this. Just take a trip to Benin and listen to people in the streets to hear for yourself the verdict on Obaseki. |

The person nearly finished me with curse. Same Lucky that didn't do roads? Even his his door mouth..e nor do. Insecurity that time, thieves then eh? House to house robbery...gunshots everyday ...well, na opinion things ..
But to me, Obaseki is the best. Sometimes,I think it's how people perceive things Saying Obaseki is the best is not really too different from saying Lucky did better than Oshiomhole. If Obaseki is even good at all, how come Edo State has now fallen so low as to be commissioning street lights which weren't even erected by the Obaseki who is commissioning them? |

tonididdy: Lol abeg Wetin be the difference btw your number 2 point and the original post you quoted . Being in control of a state's politics is not same as godfatherism. Awolowo was in control of Yoruba politics for long without being perceived as a godfather. Azikiwe controlled Igbo politics till he died and wasn't ever labelled a godfather. Ahmadu Bello had a strong grip and control of Northern Region politics and even singlehandedly handpicked Tafawa Balewa for prime minister position and till today no one accuses him of godfatherism. The problem we have today is that words have lost their meanings in the heads of the present youths due to poor education hence they find it difficult to recognize political leadership and therefore regard any form of it as godfatherism. |

I was a beneficiary of Oshobaba employment scheme which took in about 10,000 employees within his first 1yrs in government. I was employed in the 2nd batch of that scheme and I made my first 45k in life. That employment was what God used to save me from total collapse, and it became the launch pad of my success story. You people should stop Lieing abeg I just laughed too when I read his comment. He obviously doesn't live in Edo State else he would have heard of SEEFOR through which Oshiomhole employed many jobless women and youths in the rural areas in addition to many other employment schemes. Even the massive renovation of schools all over the state by Oshiomhole got a lot of youths and craftsmen engaged throughout his eight years thus buoying the state's economy unlike the present Mr. MOU who is hoarding cash in the name of building a phantom human capacity. |

Mumu Obaseki is commissioning a 3km street light on a road constructed by oshiomhole.
Lucky igbinedion the ex convict is not worth a mention.
Edo is usually unlucky with governors from Edo south. They're disasters! The failure of all Edo South governors in the history of Edo State is a cause for concern on the part of Edo South people. Oyegun was a disaster. Lucky Igbinedion was an epidemic, and now Obaseki is a catastrophe. |

real777: Nigeria governors are the laziest and the least intelligent in the world. Collect allocation from Abuja, pay salaries. Next is to reconstruct few substandard roads in already concentrated areas. All of these for 8 years and then the next one does his. No innovation, no well planned cities, no human capital development, no social security.
The difference between Oshiomole and Obaseki is this: while Oshio was building roads with wider views and some side walks, the current one is a sitting duck making all major roads in Benin city narrower. Two vehicles can hardly pass each other in opposite direction. The former used generator to power street lights while the latter is using Ossiomon gas plant. The both are very useless and a total failure in Edo State. The roads left by Ogbemudia is what they can't even maintain or expand let alone building their own world class roads. Nigeria and black Africans in general can't even show a local government in their state with close resemblance to the developed nations of the world. Did Ogbemudia's roads survive till Oshiomhole's time to warrant the claim that Oshiomhole couldn't maintain them? Most of Ogbemudia's roads were in GRA and far before even Lucky Igbinedion came, they had all been damaged by flooding due to the fact that Ogbemudia built those roads without a single drainage. Just visit the part of Ihama road that stretches towards Adesuwa Road to see the lake that easily forms there when it merely drizzles. And that was Ogbemudia's legacy on roads. |

Fira09: Can you explain how he was better than igbenedion? though I don't see any of them better. I consistently prefer Igbenedion to Oshiomhole. On a safer note; none of them are better.
Obaseki is the worstest. Oshiomhole did more projects in the northern region of Edo State than the rest, are we supposed to call that 'better'? Per the bolded, it is obvious you are plain dishonest. Over 50% of all Oshiomhole's projects were concentrated in Edo South particularly Benin City. The only places he did reasonable number of projects in Edo North is his Etsako areas and Etsako alone doesn't make up Edo North. Akoko-Edo and Owan put together beat Etsako in terms of population and landmass but if you get to either of these two parts of Edo North you would be compelled to ask if Oshiomhole ever saw them as part of Edo State during his tenure. Oshiomhole so favoured you Binis and Esans at the expense of Akoko-Edo and Owan, yet you Binis turned around and rewarded him with hatred. Though it serves him right because no one who tries to please outsiders at the expense of his own people doesn't end up in regret. |

But they made sure they cancelled Oshiomole ....so they don't have a godfather like Tinubu collecting money from Lagos since 1999(an Osun man, controlling Lagos treasury) nor be juju be that But how exactly was Oshiomhole trying to play godfather? This is the question those of you peddling this narrative have never been able to satisfactorily answer. Now, ask yourself whether an ungodfathered Edo State is anywhere near Tinubu's allegedly godfathered Lagos. The truth is that people voted for Obaseki for two reasons which were: 1. Buhari's alleged Fulanization agenda seemed to them a thing to be cancelled out by voting against APC 2. Bini people felt an Afemai person should not control Edo State politics. When their own Gabriel Igbinedion was playing the same godfatherism over Edo politics, didn't they obey him and voted his son, Lucky, for second term after a disastrous first term which his own father acknowledged in full public glare but quickly added that there was no vacancy in Osadebe House as he had paid for it for his son? |

For 6 years, upon all the billions that Edo is getting frm the FG. The laughable part is that this were done by oshiomole, he just replace them with new ones. Truly edo no be lagos The primary school I attended in my hometown was rebuilt to world standard by Oshiomhole after it stayed in a delapidated state for over 30 years. During Obaseki's first term, he repainted it and erected a signboard by the entrance gate with his picture on it and claiming he renovated the school whereas Oshiomhole actually did the renovation. People who saw this deception of Obaseki in my hometown still went ahead and voted him for second term all in the name of fighting a phantom godfatherism.
