U re very IGNORANT. sad

So Why did Angry Buhari Fans in the North killed those Youth Corpers in 2011? huh

Almost the Entire North voted Buhari/CPC in 2011. 😏

And when Jonathan and PDP won, they were NEVER vindictive and Jonathan even built ALMAJIRI formal Education Schools for them in 2014.

You APC lots are so full of Tribalism! undecided
Seeking political correctness everytime is not a virtue. In 2011 Jonathan swept Northern states like Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Benue, Plateau, Taraba and Niger. It was only in the Core North that Buhari won. Those who rioted in the Core North did so not because Jonathan won but because there were reported cases of electoral malpractices in their domain.

Your argument on Almajiri schools shows clearly that you weren't even following the issues into details back then else you would have known that the Almajiri schools policy of Jonathan was a show of vindictiveness to the North because right from its conception by Jonathan, Northerners rejected it on the grounds that it was going to be tantamount to educational apartheid, and therefore advised Jonathan to rather spend the allocated funds to revive and expand as many dilapidated public primary schools in the Core North as possible. They added that Ahmadu Bello whom all Northerners rever as the best leader they ever had spent all his life establishing Western Education-based primary, secondary and tertiary educational institutions in the North and discouraged the Almajiri phenomon. But Jonathan's advisers who saw the Almajiri schools project as an avenue to line their pockets urged him to stubbornly go ahead with it in defiance to Northerners rejection of it. If that wasn't vindictiveness, then what exactly was it?

Oga forward slash doesn't make two different things one. It can be used as 'or'.

What's the benefit of bringing them together? Is SS better off? Are their politicians from a different planet?
Last I checked, Bayelsa is wallowing in poverty despite oil and having an ex-president among them.

These things are trivial, let's advocate for a better environment for everyone
The context in which SS/SE is used by most Nairalanders, especially those from the SE, is in the sense of being one and the same. You can't claim to be unaware of statements like "we SE/SE need restructuring", we SE/SS are being marginalized", etc. In the context of the above assertions as examples, the forward slash definitely can't mean 'or' because the 'we' which proceeds it makes it clear that they are being taken together as one and not in the sense of a disjunction.

On the issue of whether Bayelsa is doing well as a SS state despite having produced a president and bearing crude oil, you need a refresher course in Nigeria's political history so as to appreciate the fact that their misery in Bayelsa and in the entire SS region is no fault of theirs but a fall out of Igbo greed which inspired Aguiyi Ironsi to first ever tamper with the truly federal constitution by which all parts of Nigeria would have developed by now through healthy competition amidst regional autonomy and resource control.

funny people. Why should igbos care about Senate presidency, if not to give one Nigeria igbos a talking point of hope, to feel foolishly patriotic to Nigeria that seeks their demise.

If igbos leave today, just know it won't be long before the islamics yorubas decide to leave. They know they are not compatible with the north, but their aim to destroy the igbos and their religion similarity, is what unites them. On top of that, the north can bully them to submission.

Igbos should move with discipline. We will keep using their actions to gain foreign practical assistance. We should never start aggression but we should get strong enough to make them loose in catastrophic ways, like how they wish us.
But you Igbos were far more incompatible with the North than the Yoruba moslems both in terms of religion and cultural philosophy yet, at independence, while those Yoruba moslems joined their Yoruba Christian Brothers to propose to you Igbos an all-Southern parties alliance which would have given the South a hedge over the North and even produced an Igbo man as the very first ruler of Nigeria, the same you Igbos rejected that offer claiming it wouldn't augur well for the very one Nigerianism philosophy which you now deride, despise and claim is responsible for the Nigeria tragedy? So whose fault that Nigeria is what it is today other than your very people?
What we have in our hands today as the Nigerian injustice, oppression of the common man, tribalism inspired voting, unprincipled politicking, etc are all the long term consequences of that myopic decision your political forebears made at independence against common sense and ideal principles of politics. According to Mrs. Hilary Clinton; people must learn to live with the short and long term consequences of their choices.

Of all the 4 groups, it's only the Igbo that is yet to produce a president for Nigeria. Reasonable Yorubas and Ijaws insist that its time for Igbo to produce a president for Nigeria.
You continue to spin the yarn to entertain yourself and Tinubu urchinss.
Hausas have never ruled Nigeria despite being a major ethnic group. Likewise, considering the compellingly evidenced Igbo paternity of Obasanjo, it could be said that Yorubas have never ruled too. What it therefore boils down to is that Igbos have ruled Nigeria three times - Ironsi, Obasanjo and Obasanjo again. Regardless of that, Igbos have twice been given the opportunity to rule but on each occasion they traded it away for asinine considerations only to come back to complain of being denied. So what more do you Igbos want? Are you the only majority in Nigeria?

Since 1999, rotation of the presidency between the north and the south has been in place and helped to save Nigeria's integrity.

But in 2023 when it's the turn of the Igbo, Atiku and Tinubu would not allow rotation. Atiku knew that the south would not permit his succeeding president Buhari. So Atiku came to contest merely to stop any possibility for an Igbo in PDP succeeding president Buhari.
Tinubu has Igbos who are presidrntial materials and who formed APC with him in APC during APC presidential primaries. But he didn't consider any Igbo worthy of presiding over Nigeria. In 1999, the PDP formed by an Igbo man enabled Obasanjo clinch Nigeria's presidential seat - because of consideration for zoning. Few Yorubas were in PDP then.
A cancer is about to be grown on the body of Nigeria if an Igbo is denied the presidential seat this time.
Without prejudice to the fact that zoning was only a PDP thing at the return of democracy in 1999 and other parties didn't have it in their rules,
In 1999 an Igbo man, Alex Ekweme, was the leading contender for the PDP ticket both in opinion polls and PDP NWC qualification criteria, but Ironically when IBB offered N5m bribe per delegate at the Jos PDP convention to dubiously tilt the tide in favour of a Yoruba man who had failed all the PDP NWC criteria, it was the Igbo delegate that first accepted the inducement from IBB and began to discredit Alex Ekweme thus trading their own opportunity away. That wasn't even the first time such happened. At independence, a southern alliance was muted in which prime minister position was offered to the Igbo nation as a matter of birthright on the strength of the Igbo party NCNC coming first in popular votes, but Igbos rejected it and rather traded it to the Hausafulani for a figure head ceremonial Governor General position in quest for one-Nigeria, only to later start crying of marginalization in few years to follow.
This has always been the attitude of Igbos. Trade away your opportunity for ephemeral egoistic or material gains disguised as a desire for one Nigeria, but later turn around to complain of being ganged up against and denied of that very opportunity.
You can't claim to sacrifice your turn for one-Nigeria and still turn around to ask for that turn. What then does sacrificing mean?

Let every region take care of its self
I don't think presidential vs parliamentary system is the problem. As long as there is autonomy for the subnational units (be they regions or states), attention will shift from the president/ prime minister to the governors/ premiers thus leading to a situation whereby people will be more interested about what happens in their states/regions of origin than in their states/regions of residence.

PoliticsRe: Iwuanyanwu: There Is No War Between Igbo And Yoruba by Deadlytruth(m): 4:17am On Mar 26, 2023
I watched the event live on Channels yesterday and Iwanyawu clearly and unequivocally said that "Yorubas are political rascals".
But the most interesting irony which none of the Yoruba commentators here seem to be bothered about is the fact that Obasanjo (an acclaimed Yoruba elder) was right there when Iwanyawu said so but when he (OBJ) later got the opportunity to speak, he didn't make any point of correction to Iwanyawu but chose to allege Igbophobia against other Nigerian ethnicities thus pretending not to see that Iwanyawu's kind of unprovoked outburst which had just happened right before his eyes is one of the causes of that Igbophobia.
How a fully grown Yoruba elder would see an Igbo elder calling his people political rascals right in his presence but ignore it and play the ostrich by turning around to accuse other Nigerians as having a phobia for the same Igbo nation is simply disingenuous. If I were a Yoruba person, I would see a bigger insult to Yoruba race in Obasanjo's conduct than in Iwanyawu's outburst.
I dare say here that a good number of Yorubas are as guilty as Obasanjo as far as this ostrich playing is concerned all in a bid to seek a non-existent southern unity even in the face of provocations and speeches from Igbos which stand as unassailable evidences to the contrary.

It's time SEUN OSEWA put a check or more importantly a stop to all these hate speeches that have been allowed to fester on and further deepened the divide between Nigerians.
The hate speeches are actually what keep Nairaland alive and bubbling. I can tell you that for many years Nairaland wouldn't catch my fancy until 2015 when I got inspired to leave guest mode and register to counter the mountain of hate speeches which the Biafrans who overnight metamorphosed into emergency patriotic Nigerians self styled as Obidients had begun to erect against Edo State for the "crime" of giving as much as 40% votes to Buhari as against the over 90% purportedly recorded in the other SS states. Ironically today, the same Edo State they insulted continuously for seven years has given one of the highest percentage votes to their own Obi now while their supposed closer SS brothers in Rivers, Cross River and Bayelsa have rejected them for either Atiku or Tinubu; yet we have not heard them insulting Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa for this the way they did to Edo.
With this we can understand that their hatred for Edo is inborn as against the 2015 election outcome reason they gave. Now, without their hate speeches, how would you see through their dark and envious minds?
See how they have already started mocking the entire Yoruba race on account of the woke and history-ignorant Yorubas who joined them to vote against APC in Lagos thinking they are "freeing" Lagos from clutches while back in their own SE they didn't really vote against those who have correspondingly held sway on vested interests.
