Hello house. Is there any one that has this problem? It seems there is a part of my brain that is wired this way for years now.

While most people lie to escape punishment and blame etc, i tend to lie for no reason atall. Sometimes i need to lie further just to modify the initial lie.

Examples:
1. I went late to work because i had to take home some office files which i worked with all through the night. When asked, i lied to my boss that i had a compound dispute tha made me come late. Saying the truth would have earned me praises from my boss and saved me alot of stress.

2. I got injured at home. When my landlady asked how, i lied that i had a serious accident when going to work that morning.
I told her a long story about the accident scene and all. She was sympatizing with me and almost wept.

These are just few examples i can type now, there is more.

I can't help but lie most of the time i have conversation with people. Any advice?

I could go on and on, but the point I am trying to make is that you should seat down, take out a note book and begin to mention those 'seemingly little things/blessings' you think God has giving to you. List them, and you'll be amazed at God's benevolence over your life.

Most importantly, learn to praise and appreciate God. Draw nigh unto Him, and see Him pick you up from 'those ashes' of depressional thoughts.
Read books, meditate, listen to music as well, etc.

Finally, don't you ever give up! And stop comparing yourself to others, ok?

This advise comes from someone who has, in the past, felt same way as you're feeling now. But the Everlasting Arm of the Most High, dragged me out of that miry clay through a book I read, titled " When God Doesn't Make Sense' by James Dobson. That book spoke directly to my situation, and here I am today advicing you not to do it!

So I currently work with one of the top commercial banks and I was posted to one of their branches on the mainland very close to my place of residence. So I incur close to zero cost of transportation, no traffic issue, no stress. And the salary is 100k, no promotion in sight, career growth is uncertain and the role isn't really great for my CV. I'm a teller.


Last week I did an interview via zoom because of the nature of my work and I got another job, but on the island. It's a private equity firm and the pay is 150k. The cost of transportation for the month is about 20k. There's great career growth and opportunities for self development. However, I fear the stress of going to the island and back daily. Waking up as early as 4am sometimes and coming back home late.

Please advise me on which to choose. I have till Monday to decide.

Those working on the island and staying on the mainland, how do you cope?

In that case, don't always buy the periwinkles without shell. Buy the ones with shell, ask the seller how to wash and use it for cooking. All you have to do after cooking is to suck it out from its shell while eating. By so doing, you'll feel the periwinkles inside soup while eating.

Alternatively, you can try not to overcook the shell-less ones.

It's Akwa Ibom delicacy, and it usually tastes good.
