In a bid to castigate the government you ended up making yourself look foolish.

The report there is about what every single citizen and government of Nigeria contributed contributed to the import and export of the country.

It has nothing to do with the revenue accruing to the government neither does your question of embezzlement come in.

The question that should come in is that what exactly did you contribute to the figure above either in terms of import(negative) or export(positive)?

This is a very good development that shows we are gradually moving away from import dependent to export. It may be slow but I’m very positive that before the end of 2020, it will be visible to the blind and clearly audible to the deaf that Nigerian trajectory is changing for the better.

Cambridge has issued a statement regarding this certificate clearly in favour of the president, clowns should come up with proof that Cambridge lied instead jumping from one branch to another like confused monkeys.
You should know that most likely there’s an investigation going on in the background that could potentially have effect on him for him to come out to say all this all in a bid to appear to have helped the president in the past hoping that he can gain the favor of the president in return.

No church and practicing christianity is a crime ....but u want right were u are minority hypocrite
Shifting the goal post already.

First it was banning all religions now it’s about churches.

Saudi has always been an Islamic kingdom and it is known worldwide. Before Abraham brought Islam to Saudi through his family, Saudi was mostly a desert. Meaning Saudi was formed because of Islam not before Islam.

Italy has never claimed the title of being a Christian country. Roman Empire has been in place long before Christianity came and took over the kingdom. So Christianity should naturally not lay claim to any part of the country but here we are today with Vatican even having its own rules and constitution.

Before you condemn a religion make sure you know it’s history and the history of your own religion.

So by your submission a minority has no right in a secular country. If that is the case, then Christians should have no right in nigeria cos by demographics, Muslims are the majority while Christians are the minority.

Who’s the hypocrite now?

There’s a reason God pushed her to your side. Forget your mates and friends going far. You’ve gone far than they can ever get for now except they also have your kind of responsibility.

Now you not only have yourself to use has point of contact to God for blessing. You also have a whole family one by one to use. You potentially have the opportunity to tap into the blessing of a whole family to enrich your own but they(your friends don’t).

Just ask God to keep blessing you so you can do more for them and if they don’t appreciate it, don’t get angry, just be happy that you’re assisting Gods creation.

Although it's not allowed here but I've moved from smacking to beating now but no change in his behaviour. I fear this boy will put me into trouble one day or grow up to hate me. I'm thinking of sending him to naija for one school semester but hubby refused.
Immediately I started reading your story I knew what his problem was but unfortunately most parents don’t know the damage it has on their children that’s why even you only mentioned it once.

The problem with that boy is TV. Get him and others off the TV and watch him gradually return to normal. 5minutes of TV is enough to distract a kids mind for days.

I have a nephew here in nigeria who is also having this problem. He’s 7. His brother is 5 but the 5year old is more organized than the older one.

It has become a war between me and them trying to control the hours they spend watching tv but because they’re not my kids, there’s limit to my control over them.

Try and research online to know the damage TV does to children then you’d understand. Beating him won’t help him.

Their brain is virtually empty at this point and they take in whatever information that comes their way but the information the TV if giving out mostly comes in form of programming. The TV is programming what enters their brain at a time that you should be programming what will enter their brain.

Not all children can take in two instructions at a time. The TV programming is blocking your own programming from being grounded in his brain.

His day dreaming is a result of the things he sees on TV.

I hope you have the will to yank off the TV from their daily routine and replace it with board games and books.

I wonder why the contract details is being kept secret. It would afford Nigerians to know who, how and why the contract was signed.

It would not make sense for government officials to go all the way to London to sign a contract. The usual procedure for awarding of contract is that proposals are made made through the budget office and bids sent to prospective contractors. The bids must past through Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), otherwise known as the Due Process Office before the contract is awarded. The whole project must be forwarded to the national assembly for imput into the next budget or approved a supplementary budget if it's urgent. Now, did this contract pass through due process?

Before a contract can be awarded the foreign firm must be registered in Nigeria or be partnered with a company registered in Nigeria. The government cannot just award contract to companies with no presence whatsoever in the country.

You raised a salient point. Why would the Jonathan administration agree to pay $850 million just 3 years after signing the contract, when the amount could easily have been used to execute it's share of the agreement? After all the amount is more than enough to lay the gas pipeline to the proposed production site.

Finally, the contract looks very illogical. The company is to take liquid gas from the government, refine it to wet natural gas to be used to power gas stations, and then keep the bye products.
Where are the gas powered stations, are the gas stations to be powered existing ones or new ones to be built?

What of the pipes to the new or existing gas powered stations, should they not be built first?

If their were plans to built more power stations, what of the transmission and distribution stations to be able to evacuate the power into the national grid? Our transmission lines had never been able to handle 5000MW.

What was the over all plan for the project?

I am not supporting the Nigerian government (whether Jonathan or buhari) for defaulting on a contractual agreement, my grouse is subjecting a contract entered into in Nigeria to British courts and laws. If you were the attorney general, would you go before a British judge an answer yes my lord? Or you want Nigerian lawyers who might not have license to practice law in the UK to study British laws and then go and defend the case.
The case should have been handled at the Nigerian courts.
We don’t have access to the details of the contract so we don’t know where the contract was signed.

If the contract was signed in London, then a London court will have jurisdiction but if it was signed in Nigerian then like you said why will a Nigerian lawyer go and defend the case in London.

Also if the company is registered in UK and not Nigeria, then irrespective of where the contract is signed, the London court will have jurisdiction.

Whichever way it is, it is a bleeped up and mediocre situation for nigeria to be in.

I have problem with people dragging PMB into this nonsense. You can imagine someone claiming the previous government negotiated an $850m out of court settlement and blaming the PMB govt of not going with the settlement.

How will they go with the settlement? You agreed contract with someone, you refuse to honor the contract and you’re agreeing out of court settlement that is more than times 2 the initial investment without executing anything. It doesn’t make any sense.

If it’s not meant to embezzle money then why will you not honor a contract and you go ahead to approve such huge settlement?

Blame game continues... the previous government negotiated out of court settlement of $850m to be paid in tranches, But as usual Buhari saw it as PDP/GEJ fraud. They now went to court and here we are blaming GEJ. The oversabi Buhari is leading Nigeria to a third recession because he is "fighting" imaginary corruption.
So between 2015 and now, $850m had grown to $9billion.

You self reason it does this make sense to you? Even if the interest rate is 100% per year will it have grown to $9billion in 4years?

Why then does Islam tag non-Muslims as infidels?

Why does it encourage the killing of infidels?
luluman:
Leave goggle & answer the direct question if you are a Muslim.
Look at the picture you used. In that article lies the answer you seek.

“Some parts refer to specific situations while others refer to universal spiritual principle”

That verse you quoted refers to a specific situation when the idolators in Mecca were waging war in different forms against Muslims.

The first woman to be killed for her Islamic belief by the idolators was sawed into two halves.

That Kaaba was build by prophet Ibrahim(Abraham) on the orders of Allah. After so many years, the idolators took over the Kaaba and started storing their idols in it. When Allahs message came back in the form of Islam through prophet Muhammad(S.A.W), the idolators waged war against it(the message, the prophet and the believers). They killed them(believers) and chased them out of Mecca.

Remember the Kaaba was built by Gods prophet Abraham based on instruction from God himself.

After the idolators declared war on the believers, that was when that particular chapter came. It was giving the Muslims the order to also fight back and attack the idolators where ever they are found.

That verse also serves as the Islamic rules of engaging in war till today. It applies only when there is war against Islam and Muslims in their own enclave(homes) NOT IN THE SITUATION OF BOKOHARAM AND ISIS THAT GOES INTO OTHER PEOPLES PLACE TO ATTACK THEM.

Below is the verse you quoted above and the one that followed it. You can see in the next verse that even during the war, if the disbelievers came to the Muslims for protection, Muslims are enjoined to grant them protection and ensure their safe passage to their place. EXAMPLE IS WHAT THE IMAM IN PLATEAU STATE DID BY HIDING OVER 200 CHRISTIAN IN HIS HOME.

I think you would find that i wasn't even born in Nigeria Neither do i live in Nigeria.

I was speaking from the perspective of an individual who grew up in a stable Functioning Nation.

You want Nigerian Government to waste funds criminalising, Dishing out fines of 50k and locking up poor people who can not even Afford food. Every issues must be handled with heavy hands? how exactly would the culprits be Tracked? In Nigeria were there are no databases, social security numbers or fingerprints systems.

You carefully Avoided my quetsions on were do you expect them to dump their refuse if no sites are provided for refuse dumping.

Mate! i wouldn't want to indulge you further, It would be pointless. grin
First I didn’t avoid your question I intentionally ignored it cos you were being selective with your reply but now that you’ve come with a straightforward comment then we can talk.

First LAWMA is the organization I charge of waste disposal and management in the state. There are lawma waste disposal drums all around lagos but you still see people dump refuse by the road side because they’re trying to avoid paying the tiny fee of maximum 4K per month(not because they can’t afford it but because they just want free things). Some dump the refuse on the road because they are too lazy to trek to the refuse dump drum. Apart from the drums, rolls of refuse disposal plastic bags are being sold for less than $2 and can last for several months.

Second the lie that people live on less than $1 per day is not applicable to Lagos state cos you just cannot survive with such ridiculous amount in lagos and still have trash to dispose. You’d rather be living on other people’s trash.

Third, the 50k fine is for the person who wants to avoid jail. Knowing Nigerians and our fear of jail people will pay the money and will never want to fall victim again. The bottom line is to avoid future occurrence. The fear of jail or being forced to pay 50k is the only thing that can set Nigerians straight if you know the kind of people we are.

The 500k is for any offender who wants to contest for elective post. For you to want to contest for elective post anywhere in nigeria, you must be ready to spend nothing less than 1million with no guarantees of winning. To contest in lagos for the least post, you’d have more than N2m. Anyone that can spend up to that should be able to afford clearing his/her dirtiness record for 500k.

Lastly the 50k mentioned is is not fixed and can be reduced but most importantly, it is to be levied on the houses and not 50k per each tenant. It will be contributed by all the tenants. Let them create a neighborhood watch to catch the offenders. If they don’t know it’s their responsibility to keep their surroundings clean then they should all contribute to pay for the fine. Any house with no tenant in lagos can conveniently afford 50k fine and even CCTV camera to exonerate themselves or catch offenders to avoid the 50k fine.

This is the kind of mentality that is keeping us down.

So of everything I wrote up there it’s only 500k that you could see.

With people like you abound in this country we will never move forward.

When you’re ready to discuss the truth about my comment, you can mention me again. If not then Adieu.
PoliticsRe: Stop Dumping Refuse By Roadsides, LAWMA Tells Residents by Debaiz:
What sort of nonsense is this. Isn’t it supposed to be criminalized. How can a government be appealing to citizens. You’re there to ensure things work properly not to beg people to make things work. That’s why we have police FORCE and not police PERSUASION. This is the reason Nigerians don’t have regard for laws cos they know those at the elm will rather persuade them than enforce the law on them.

Install CCTV cameras to arrest and prosecute offenders.

If that is too expensive, enact a law that will make each resident to be responsible for his/her environment up to 50metres radius. Any environment found wanting, arrest all residents within the 50metres, charge them to court to be imprisoned with an option of fine or both. Let the fine range from 50k above. Imagine arresting 5residents for An infringement. That’s 250k generated. People will adjust and create a neighborhood watch by themselves.

Have a record of offenders. Repeat offenders will have their fines increased on every repeated offense till it gets to prison point with no option of fine. Offenders should not be able to enjoy some privileges like contesting elections etc. to be able to contest, they can have their record cleaned for a fee of up to 500k.

All these are means of generating IGR that can be used for meaningful things instead of this useless tactic of persuasion.
