Ashirioluwa: Yes, if you give authorization to someone to collect your passport on your behalf They stopped this already, I also wanted someone to pickup on my behalf as I’ve done that in the past with an authorization letter but they said they don’t do that anymore, you must show In person to pick your passport up. |

Ennymama: Hello gurus in the house,
Please I need your advice. I saw a sponsored ads on Facebook about Canada Jobs. It also captioned that the company will sponsor the visa. I picked the number and chatted on WhatsApp. I was asked to send my CV to their email and after 24hours, I was mailed that my qualifications met their requirements. I was offered job as a Drill Engineer for the Oil and gas company. I was later sent Temporary Residence Visa Form to fill as well as Labour Market Impact Assessment(LMIA) form and Job agreement letter(that have in it that I will be responsible for the biometrics fee while other cost till arrival will be handled by the company). I filled and signed where necessary and returned them with my International passport as requested.
After few days, I was mailed to send the LMIA , Visa Form and my International passport to the lagos embassy of Canada through the email they gave (lagos@vfsglobal.g-c.online, so as to book my biometrics. I did as instructed and after few hours, got a mail from the said lagos embassy mail that my documents have been reviewed and i should proceed to pay for my biometrics through the payment link supplied so I can be given date for the biometrics. The biometrics fee is $116 CAD and processing fee is $91 CAD, bringing total to $207 CAD which amounted to #66,549.89 or pay same into one CEDI SIGNAL ZENITH BANK account and send receipt to them.
I am confused as to being real or not which is the reason I seek your genuine and honest advice.
Thanks. Please run away from them this is a scam. Their own Biometrics fee is higher than $85. And you’re being asked to pay to a private account. It’s a scam please. |

Oluwatomisinni: Good morning all.
Guys, please I need your help I received TLS mail for document collection on 29th of December but I'm not around for the pick up and didn't apply for return by courier during my biometric then. Have been sending TLS mails on how to pay for the courier service since then but no reply. So I need your help/links to apply for courier delivery or is post-biometric courier service payment not possible? Try to reach TLS to give you the courier option , keep sending them emails. The response may have been delayed due to holidays |

How true is this information pleaseeeee? As of June yes India, other months I am unsure of where they are being processed but there has been a general delay in processing visa applications most especially September and October applications. |

It's a new year and the holidays are over, visa officers on the thread can rest now because the real visa officers are back to work today. I hope we all that have been waiting get our passports with visas in them this new week by God's grace. The wait to renew a standard visitor's visa has been nothing but tiring plus frustrating. 47 working days here! |

Well, the holidays are over; let them hit the ground running. They have no more excuses. lol I’ve been earnestly waiting for the holidays to be over because of zero excuses after the holidays. We are now hoping for tons of PPR’s this month and going forward. |

Toceenay: I think you totally misunderstood the point from those that you withheld their names. No one here has ever said GIC is not a means to show financial capability, you mistook their points to mean "strong disapproval".
The point is - VO's don't give a damn having a GIC if the applicant still lack other good means of financial support. Almost all successful applicants here didn't even have a GIC account. (In fact, from personal observation, for the past 10 weeks, I don't think I've seen a timeline of an approved applicant that did GIC) So what's the point of going through the stress of GIC if applicants can have and solidify their normal means of finances to get approval! I’ve been reading through thread silently for over a month now and I’ve seen two. Cheers! |

NorthernshoreTS: Happy new year beautiful people. I tried using Access bank's Visa debit card last night to pay for my wife's application but it kept declining. I had to use an American Express card. So I'm not too sure Access bank cards work at the moment. True, just to add I tried using an access Visa card to pay last week and it didn’t go, tried several times and ended up using my GTBank dollar card. |

Joyousgem: Thank you Debbie for taking the time to respond, I haven't found anything to suggest a first timer can't apply for 2years. The person you are referring to proofs that there is no clear rule about it. They probably examine each application based on its own merit. Nothing actually and there’s no harm in trying if you’re sure you merit it or qualify for the visa. The Uk visa fees are high maybe that’s why people tend to begin with the lowest and gradually proceed to the highest. |

AmeliaT: Hello, the advice I got is that 6 months is required for a first timer. I am British and my husband is Nigerian and when applying, we were advised to apply for the 6 first and then go for 2yrs and then 10yrs. This is the same route most of my Nigerian friends have taken. It's better safe than sorry but if anyone has experienced contrary, please shout! I know someone who did two years straight but this was a “long time ago”. She was a first-timer and elderly as was going to attend her son's graduation |

quote author=Debbieeeeeee post=108844744] Has a decision been made on your application yet? If it has I’ll say just wait for a bit more and if it hasn’t and you still want to withdraw you have to go to the TLS office where you submitted to make the application, I’ll also say contact them directly too via email or phone call telling them you want to withdraw your passport. This has taught me a huge lesson to always pick the keep my passport option. Even prophetess is tired |
