mojolajesu: Hello People,
Please I noticed that my appointment date was changed without any email to that effect. Someone said the embassy could re-schedule your appointment by themselves.
After further check, I noticed my previous interview date feel on the US Thanksgiving day which I think that was why the date was changed.
is there anybody who experienced the same here?
Secondly, how many months should one leave the DS-160 before refilling it?
Thank you My parents date was changed to a week earlier from thanksgiving 24th to 18th too but I got an email immediately and this was like three weeks ago though. |

SimiMaya: Please I have. B1/B2 visa and I want to go give birth. I’m due in Feb 2022. No previous travel to the US. What can I do so I am not denied entry at the port of entry? I need advise from anyone who has done this before please Please you won’t be denied entry don’t jinx your travel even before you embark. What was the purpose you got the visa for ? Did you use it for the purpose ? In the case you didn’t use or haven’t used it for the purpose it was procured, research and get a hospital and doctor, carry enough money to show and be coherent with your answers at the point of entry and you’ll be fine. As a tip- maybe pay a deposit to the hospital or doctor before you land and also have a cogent a reason as to why you didn’t use the visa for the purpose it was meant for (if you didn’t) . You’ll be fine don’t worry! |

Thisuserwanjapa: Good day everyone, please I need your advice. When my application gets approved I'll be travelling by January and school is resuming by January 6th. Is it possible for me to defer my admission to a later date like September 2023 after getting into Canada, for me to hustle for my tution fee before starting the semester. I'd really appreciate if I can get any advice on this. I'm not trying to be a party popper but Visa officers read different travel threads on nairaland so please know which type of advice you should be seeking and not be seeking on a public forum. You’re applying for your visa with evidence that you can pay at least first-year tuition but you want to enter to quickly hustle first-year tuition. This piece written of read by an officer will be one of the reasons study permit approvals from this region/country will be overtly scrutinised or refused. Please seek this advice on a WhatsApp group or telegram group not on Nairaland and to those advising, be wary of your advice. |

bhupeshmahajan: Hi Mamas and Papas,
I am traveling to Houston next week and the delivery of my child is due on 20th Dec. I have a place to live in Katy, however, I have not not been able to figure out the doctor and hospital. I have been following this forum for some time. I got in touch with a few hospitals and doctors and got their cost. The closest hospital to my place is Houston Methodist West Hospital (Katy) and the price of the this hospital is USD 5900 (exclusive of all other costs), they have shared with me the list of physicians as well (as attached) who are affiliated with this hospital. Not sure, which of these physicians would be the cheapest in terms of cost and can offer a good all inclusive package. Please advise if you know any of the physicians who can give a good cost for C-section and is affiliated to Houston Methodist West Hospital (Katy). Or the cheapest option for physician and hospital close to Katy.
Also, I found that the cost of Oak bend medical center is USD 5,100 (which I have found as the cheapest so far from all the hospitals I talked to) however, it is far off from my place. I have been able to speak with one of the physicians (Dr Fagbohun Funsho) affiliated to Oak bend medical center, whose price is USD 2,200 (includes C section cost and one ultrasound) and they told me they can offer me a full package and other related estimated costs of anesthesia, paedratics, lab tests etc. once I meet them for appointment. Can you advise the best option in terms of cost in terms of 1) a physician can provide a total package for all the costs including hospital cost 2) cheapest hospital and cheapest affiliated physician cost seperately.
Thank you in advance
Bhupesh Hi, I used Dr Jenkins in Katy because he was 5 minutes from my accommodation, I found him super good, patient and helpful. You can search for his details on the internet and call to register as a new patient. |

GraciousWords: An applicant was rejected because her inland spouse did not disclose some work he did for a company he co-founded. IMO, he did not even need to state it in work history, he would probably have been OK to state it in his personal history, even if it wasn't in his employment history.
Following the interview, (sic) the applicant was given further opportunity to comment in writing to the concerns raised at interview. In response, Mr Akintunde’s representative has stated that Mr Akintunde did not declare his work experience as an educational agent because he did not receive any commission or fees for advancing payments for student tuition or government fees. She further stated that the principal applicant had “no knowledge of any changes with Edu-fount other than it was not making any money and as such was not employment.”
I find this explanation problematic on two fronts. First, the payment of a commission or fee is not a pre-requisite for declaring employment; nor is the profitability of one’s own company. Mr Akintunde stated at interview that he is an “entrepreneur” and Edu-fount was his business.
His explanation for not including it on his form was that he was doing this “on the side” and that he did not think he had to declare it since he was not the principal applicant. These explanations do not overcome concerns given the question posed on the relevant form.
They tried to argue it was an innocent omission because it was included in a previous IRCC application. That argument did not fly. Some people may get away with it, these guys didn't.
[53] Applicants should not expect an officer to keep a running tally of all documents ever submitted by an applicant nor expect an officer to do an applicant’s work for them. Visa officers are busy processing current applications. The Officer has attested to not having time to look for missing information in prior applications. The Applicant has not shown that it would be reasonable to expect an officer to cull through prior applications because an applicant says “I submitted that information before.” If something was previously disclosed, but is relevant to a question on a current application, then the onus is on the Applicant to disclose it again.

Similar case of a man that kept denying he was a Director of a company! https://www.nairaland.com/5471101/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/603#91029719 I just went through the JR and phew! Some people have gotten away with things like this while others are unfortunate to not. I think the conflicting answers from the applicant's spouse and his legal representative after the phone call for PFL broke the camel's back and then the credit card linked to student visa applications and the account statements too, everything joins together just scattered the thing for him. The inconsistencies were a lot to overlook. This may interest you https://www.nairaland.com/3271496/admission-into-university-regina-saskachewan#48228771 |

Gracycool: Yes, you can fill out another DS-160 form with the correct information before your interview. Besides, you will still be required to fill out another DS-160 form prior to your interview as the old one will no longer be valid after six months from the submission date. This includes taking a new passport photo for the form. Afterwards, log into the US visa interview scheduling website, click on your profile and change the DS-160 form application ID or number to the one in the newly filled form (This is extremely important because your DS-160 application number must tally with what you have on your profile for your interview). So, I suggest you fill another form as soon as possible as your interview is less than six months away. If in doubt however, you can always call the embassy to clarify. My sibling had a one-year wait time, she didn't fill out another form, and her interview was in Belfast though not Lagos. Is this a recent development? |

Sweetjam: Good evening everyone,I bought my form last year and already filled and submitted my ds160 before booking appointment.I was able to get November 2022 ,the issue I have is my husband made my fill some false information in the already submitted ds160.I’m aware I can feel another and update it on my appointment section but will they be able to access the previously filled one with false information?Kindly reply Ds-160 form is free of charge and not for sale, the only thing you pay for is your appointment booking. If you fill out another form make sure you ring the embassy to ask if it can be linked to your appointment because both must tally on the day of the interview. I'll suggest you contact the embassy ask if this can be possible. It'll be better if you fill your form truthfully, that way you don't forget it's content. |

Enyinne: 3weeks stay was her last request and not employed in Nigeria or abroad but hv business . Her application was for tourist visa for her first visa .
Note ; she is attending the interview tomorrow and if granted that means it's another reason to apply for expedited visa cos meself overstayed by 3months on my last visa but am afraid to get a refusal. I hv been stamped in 3 times usa visa and renewed twice but my last i overstayed and my second i used it for birthing but i hv renewed afterwards which has now expired . Looking for a way round it but am scared of refusal so i saw one who applied on EA and i felt it might be another means. When you say overstayed do you mean you stayed 9 months total or you stayed 3 months of the 180 days stamp? Expedited appointment is granted discretionarily by the approving officer, I used EA to renew last year may. Expedited appointment doesn’t impact on visa outcome, these are assessed differently and are unrelated. |
