All the best to everyone waiting on their study permit approvals this new week. God will put a smile on all of your faces and you’ll resume as at when due in your respective schools. |
All these agent stories I’m reading here and there on this thread are giving me a headache. I’m too much of a DIY person to allow someone to use their email and phone number for my application, I no go gree. If your agent is acting funny, haggle your agent for every detail and if you can DIY preferably please do and seek opinions on your list of docs and SOP. I believe no one will take your application more serious than you’ll do. If you've to use an agent at all costs please use the ones that have been spoken highly of on this thread. All the best guys! |
Mjhay:I was in this situation with my spouse, I uploaded statement of result first and the transcript was sent, School refused to verify because he had certificate, so I uploaded certificate copy on wes portal and waited for them to resend verification and they resent using the certificate plus transcript before the school then responded to verification and we got the ECA about 4 days after verification was received. |
Motayo97:I don’t know about conferences because I’ve never applied to a conference, I’ve always applied as a tourist and I never meet up with the date I fill and it has never been an issue. I’ll want to assume hypothetically (if I were a visa officer but fortunately I’m not) that they’ll be stricter with a conference attendee since that’s your sole purpose of going there, if it has passed what are you still going to do there? And if you knew you were attending a conference why not apply very well ahead to not give room for delays knowing how these delays have been the order of the day since last year July till date. Just my personal opinion, please. |
TiggyAce:I can relate to how tiring it can be especially while applying but you have to put in the effort, never give up and it’ll be all worth it. Someone I know got admitted to Ucalgary with a cgpa of a very very narrow escape from third class to the LLM program that is highly competitive. Just do your research and don’t wait for anyone, do it yourself nobody will take your matter more seriously than you by yourself. Don’t aim for the popular schools but of course make sure it’s a DLI, you will get something. |
TiggyAce:I don’t want to believe you don’t entirely stand a chance, I think you stand a good chance but you have to put in the research effort. Check for advanced diplomas and post-graduate diplomas in the “unpopular colleges” that are also DLIs. You may need to put in a lot of effort to help yourself to search for these colleges and not wait around for anyone to recommend and if you’re serious about being admitted, if you get a recommendation it also helps but it’ll help to do your research yourself that way you get results. |
Aktor:Don’t be bothered, it doesn’t affect your application. |
Francieuche:I know it’s not easy but Keep writing till you get your 490 crs back please. Don’t give up, Canada is the goal and we will get there. |
dbeautyful:For me, I’ll usually buy one stop or non-stop to Noth America because multiple stops elongate the journey that is already long and tiring on its own(a personal preference). The USA requires a transit visa if you don't have a valid USA visa(they're not nice) & Schengen countries too but if you have the USA or Canadian visa you’ll not require a transit visa via Schengen countries(Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt to mention a few) but the USA stays the same, if you’re transiting via the Uk you will not require a transit visa. Yes YVR is the airport code for Vancouver If your travel plans are solid then you may not need to spend extra booking a flexible ticket, but if you think you may have to change the ticket before the travel then please buy a flexible ticket because it costs a fortune changing a non-flexible ticket. If you want a fully refundable ticket it’s costlier but safer if your travel plans aren’t solid but it’s just extra money you can save towards settling down at your destination if you have your plans intact. I hope I have been able to answer a few of your questions, others can chip in. |
This new week, I wish everyone waiting on their study permit a speedy approval and of course all the best. I know this anxiety and it’ll end in praise. |
Calmdancer21:Hi, yes you can. I also want to do this and I made full enquiries. It's called passport migration. |
. |
TOSM:No Naira denominated card can carry this amount. You will have to use a dollar card or get someone in Canada to pay for you. |
Congratulations iamThej and everyone who has gotten ppr. Lol I think I agree with that uOttawa part and I still made an inside joke with my friend about it because everyone I know who applied using the school didn’t pay any deposit, didn’t have an idea of nairaland and didn’t put a lot of effort but they all got approved. |
Mi o ni so nkankan. grasiouso sorry about your situation. Things are really happening. |
. |
omotapeju:Your edd is in October which is 3 months away from July, you still have time. if you ask me I’ll suggest you leave your July date. Emergency appointments aren’t always granted all the time it’s granted selectively and unless you can prove an emergency medical condition. A few people here have applied for and gotten emergency appointments, read their posts or reach out to them and of course, you have my best wishes! |
Jerrysmallz:Traditional wedding, court/registry. |
Hattie008:Congratulations on your baby, I pray God provides for you to clear your bills don’t worry everything will be okay, just let the hospital know you will like to draw up a payment plan to clear the thing while you’re back in Nigeria and they will allow you do so $34k is a lot and not many Americans can drop that amount cash down. I’ve read a story of someone here who was still paying small small for the previous birth while she went in to have to second one and she wasn’t sent back. |
Joshmuch:My friend was in this situation and I remember coming here to ask and thankfully she got ppr now without any ADR’s as to employment or anything. She attached the refusal email from HR stating they won’t give her a letter of reference, requested her JD’s from HR and attached it, attached her payslips, employment letter / contract , I.D card alongside a letter of explanation and that was all. I hope this was helpful. All the best. |
Good evening everyone, Please for those who have used form A to pay for Medicals, what were the requirements and were you the one who stated how much to wire to the doctor? |
Gigli:I just responded |
Good morning everyone, I don’t know if this is best place to put this but I have easy@home ovulation strips and pregnancy test strips to give out to anyone who’s in need and finds them costly. I want to give out to different people. I’m in Lagos. I also have one a day prenatal supplement to give out, baby aspirin 81mg. |
Malone122:Thank you I appreciate |
kinkyhead:Please do you have an idea if I can get someone to replace me at qlife Medicals since I can’t make it there ? |
ednut1:Your head is there Sir , you just said what I’ve been saying since. After three years what next ? They’re only using that 3 years to lure them. Uk was badly affected by brexit and these three years they’re dashing has greatly improved their economy, their immigration laws are not stable and forever changes to not favour most! Once they experience the slightest stability they’ll kick them out. |
NneAku344:Amennnnnnnnnn |
Congratulations Nneaku I just read your PPR now, I am very happy for you. I wish everyone waiting all the best. It is well. We are still waiting for draws to resume. |
Sus4:I’m so sorry about this. I just came online to read this one. Please don’t be so sad. Contact a lawyer to sort your CAC ish, only lawyers/ accredited CAC agents can do post incorporation filings. AR and penalties can be filed in hours, it’s not big deal. Please don’t do any bulk lodgement without having a cogent explanation for it , I always emphasize this no bulk lodgement thing because they’ll see an account with steady inflow and outflow flow. Separate your personal funds from business funds. Have things to prove you genuinely own a business( letter head, ID card , tax clearance, receipts and invoices etc) Just take your time to do all these and you’ll get your visa again. Delay is never a permanent denial |
Nadnad:If you do the application as a group you don’t need to bother , once you’re done it’ll calculate the thing together |
rheene009:I also applied again with my husband in December, since first one is still pending. I'm awaiting a response |
rheene009:I've been waiting for someone to say this And I'm glad you did |

Used to be australia and canada. Both are now doing anyhow. Truth is no other country dey, i don't trust uk with all the student visa issuances. Work visa only favours some certain few occupations. I hope things get better for this express entry o.
