Uk embassy didn’t send collection mail to anyone here today. Maybe they want to shock us on Monday morning by releasing all the backlogs

We finally received PPR today for my mother in law’s visa, second application submitted via portal on oct 14th.

Congratulations! Was a good idea submitting another application. Seems the standard is 30 working days going by recent timelines.

Do you mean that there is a shortage of skilled workers? Because we keep hearing stories of people getting to Canada and saying they can’t find a job.

They can find survival jobs and these are surplus but until they do the requisite qualifications to align with the Canadian job market they can’t find a job in their previous Nigerian career paths.

I went to IOM already and I was told I can do the medical with copy if my passport and the Copy given to me when I submitted my application at TLScontact.

But my concern is after I do my medical any moment Ircc might send me passport request so I don’t want any delay when they request for my passport

And apart from that I need to travel, so everything is in tight corner that’s why I just want to have my passport ready

Go to IOM do your Medicals , when you get ppr you have 30 days and trust me before that 30 days , your 40 working days with your Uk fam is complete , it’ll be a win win in the end , you don’t need to withdraw anything at least not for now.

December 6 is just around the corner and I’m even more than hopeful it’ll come before then

Jxool you’re not being clear enough , are you seeking to get your passport for Medicals request ? Or did you get a passport request for visa stamping from the Canadian people?
If it’s medical request you can do with a copy of the biodata page for the Medicals oo .

When I asked them during the call if I could withdraw my passport they said 15 working days and everything will be canceled.
From recent timelines it’s obvious they dispatch passports after issuing visas almost immediately, if you collect your passport back, it may mean application fees being forfeited because there’s a high likelihood visa hasn’t been stamped on the passport being requested for.

Monthly limit is $100, 185CAD is abt $US150 which is above the limit. Although I got a mail from GTBank stating an upward review of the limit, to a sum of 200usd but I still get transactions above 100usd declined, and I dnt knw the reason for that. Try using a barter card.

I used my card for $175 today and my friends for $200 yesterday.

They def keep the passports here in naija. I think they intentionally delay people's passports for no reason and it is really frustrating.

Passports are kept here , visas are stamped here , all they do is wait for approval from the visa office working on your file and put the thing on visa queue and dispatch to the pickup centre. Prior to 2011/12 we used to submit direct at Walter carrington.

Another thing that I think they are doing is deliberately keeping people out; a form of border control.

If they do this I wouldn’t blame them. If you see the kain crowd whey dey patronize dem these days, you no go blame them.

But I believe the passport is at Abuja because when I called in the morning the lady said if I cancel the application it should not take long for me to get my passport because the passport is in Nigeria here not sent outside the country.

That’s is why I said the passport is at Abuja no other place

The passport never leaves Nigeria. They stamp the thing in lagos or Abuja depending on where you submit. The files are e-files and are worked on in any location in the world where they have offices or officers.

Congrats Sh0lar , you’re free from them now. Na we remain. This 40 working days is the highest of the highest level of delay

I never Knew they had option of holding on to passport till a decision is made.
When did that start?
I plan applying this December for a trip in February and i am just too scared.

It’s 27k theres a keep my passport option.

Jxool & dzee1 I hope you guys get your passports by tomorrow latest because this situation is traumatic for anyone who has a planned trip outside Nigeria already. No one envisaged this delay, if I did I wouldn’t have dabbled into it until things went to normal because I hate anything that will stress me mentally when Nigeria on its own is stressful already.
Gistbite how far ? I’m rooting for your daughters passport to come back ASAP Abeg.

Brenda call early in the morning before 7am or very late at night or midnight hours , the traffic is less then.

I think I’m tilting to byrees’s side of argument just “a bit” I know how I sloppily fill my visa forms and I still get it renewed. I have used bank statements I got 4/5 weeks prior to visa application to apply for renewal. My friend has used total balance less than 1 million for his family of three and he got visa. I think there’s some kind of waiver they give old time applicants also I’ve seen old time applicants get refused over one flimsy thing they omitted.
In all I’ll say it depends on the ECO handling the file.

Thanks so much for your advice you can please send the email for the New Delhi so I can also email them. My application is 32 working days bio date is 12 oct and I just got the medical request last week Friday. So it just makes my head turning left and right

If it’s medical request you got from Canada and not ppr then you can do your Medicals with your coloured passport biodata but inform the Medicals people first and explain your situation to them.
