Oanda / XE are used by officers to convert your proof of funds. Banks don’t use Oanda to give rates. Create a virtual card to pay for your application or get someone else’s GTBank card to pay

How much does it cost? and it's the stress worth it when there are other airlines that doesn't need a transit visa.

Since this whole transit visa thing started my sister has done thrice and it has been brisk, application fee is like 39.5k or 40k. She applied last week Tuesday and got her passport on Wednesday afternoon.
If you have a valid usa visa and I think Canada, you will not require transit visa. Other airlines that don’t require transit visas are- BA, emirates , Qatar, Ethiopian , Egypt and co. But Lufthansa, klm , airfrance and other European airlines require it. Total flight time is shorter compared with those middle eastern airlines.
Personally I don wash my hand comot for anything middle eastern airline once my destination isn’t Dubai, flight time is always too long and tiring.

First of all, which of the TLS packages did you pay for ? Was the currency Naira or GBP?

The Naira equivalent will be determined by the bank rate for CAD for the day(rates vary by the day and may be static for a bit). I know GTBank started taking 480-$1 for about one month now but I don’t know about the recent CAD rate.
I paid my application fee in USD.

Mine has been since 30 September. It is 35 working days today. Planning to travel Dec 5; now I have got to defer my trip.

If your GTBank card isn’t going , try barter by flutter wave.
Can you try to use another GTBank card to pay first of all? Have you used your GTBank on an international site this month ?
Also do you have more than enough in that account you’re trying to use?

What he should do is clearly written in the email. Resend account statement he initially submitted (a clear version) to the email address provided in the email sent to him before the deadline.
He can download from the app if he uses GTBank(GTBank comes stamped when you download)

They applied directly, end of June and yes they did biometrics. Work permit came out first week august.

Did they tell you if a decision has been made on your application? It took them two months to return a friend's passport. I will advise you to be patient to avoid loss of money. Can the deadline of the other stuff be extended if your explain your situation to them?

Lol , two good months. They’ve always been on time with me and my family’s passport so I’ll take this one exception from them

Did you read what I wrote ? Did I say they carry rulers or measuring tapes ?
If you’re a frequent traveler with different airlines then you should know some weigh and some don’t(these ones who don’t weigh just look at the bag and see it fits) and also some just have a bin they fit the luggage in and once it fits you’re good to go. Where is it written that they carry rulers.
And yes there are dimensions set by airlines for hand luggages , the essence is to prevent bogus bags.

Everything is on their website, there’s also no cause for you to be bothered. The essence of dimensions for hand luggage is to make sure the bad isn’t too big for cabin space. So if you’re going with a suitcase make sure it’s not a huge suitcase that won’t fit and that’s all.

Yeah you can the smartest way is put ur laptop in. The bag pack add clothes in it if they ask say it’s ur laptop bag and chargers

The hand carry they rarely ever weigh it so it shouldn’t be too big 10kg is fine avoid boxes cos they have their own weight

BA doesn’t weigh hand luggage but they fit the hand luggage into a box at the check in counter and it must be that dimension and nothing longer or wider

If what you need your passport for is an emergency, you can mail them.

They said it takes 15 working days to review applications for passport withdrawal, that’s like 3 weeks and again my 2 years visa fees . All I can pray for is they release my passport before deadline on the other end .

Dear gentle soul, merge the bank statements together as one file. While scanning choose the batch option if you’re using a Hp printer(Hp smart app).
Or rather download your statement from the bank app, it’ll be one file.
If you want to use multiple bank statements, use ilovepdf to merge the different files

Visitor visa does not require Medicals but super visa ( visit greater than 6 months) requires Medicals.

BA is only taking study permits or actual citizens, visit visa and work permits are not allowed right now

The ban is no longer in place and it was between London, Schengen states & the usa. But it’s now sorted. Canada opened too after sept 7

The BA flight has only 1 stop at London LHA and another BA flight from LHA to vancouver.

Hi, so if it’s just a stop at LHR then you’re good. If it’s 2 stops (lhr & somewhere in the usa) then I’m afraid it won’t work. But since you’ve said it’s just one stop then it’ll work.

If you use BA You’ll most likely have a connection in the usa that’ll require a usa transit visa or visitors visa.
