Onlytruth: I didn't know that this thread would go past 4 pages. Well well.
Agbachakwa egwu o naa n'ukwu -every dance moves must culminate in hip movements.
I advised that we should leave revisiting the past as far as minority (especially the eastern ones) involvement in the war is concerned. My reason remains simple, and it seems that only few of my brothers understood it.
I love Ojukwu and would fight anyone dissing his legacy. I would also be foolish if I say that he was infallible. He was a man too.
The midwest incursion (as every good historian already knows) was a mistake and a miscalculation. Simple and short.

As for the Eastern minorities, as early as August 1966, there was already an Eastern consultative assembly formed to bring everybody on board in the East. It did not achieve much. The next in October of same year didn't achieve much also. There was no SOLID agreement in the East until the shooting war started, and there could not have been that agreement because there were Ijaw elements such as Dappa Biriye and Isaac Adaka Boko who were mentally allied with the Hausa/Fulani North, and there was nothing anyone could have done to persuade them otherwise. For me, after that assembly in 1966, I would have gone to seek an alliance with a STRONG foreign country who would agree to support Biafra with a naval and air force, knowing that these elements were already planning to sabotage Biafra.
If I couldn't get that foreign support, I would have dropped ALL plans of secession and called it a day.

Someone on this thread raised a strong point that southern groups were not Biafra's biggest threats initially. It was Hausa/Fulani. If Biafra had focused on them and dealt with them seriously, no southern element would have even thought about fighting Biafra. All these accusations and counter accusations to me sounds like nothing more than lame attempts at revisionism.
I warn my Igbo brothers to always think strategically.
When I hustle for international airports in SE, join me in that campaign and use the vigor you have wasted here to hustle along with me. Those are strategic investments. I wish you would give 10% of the energy you gave on this thread to such strategic efforts, instead of abandoning it, making it to look like an Onlytruth venture. Save your energy for efforts that would empower us. Campaign for worthy empowerment of our section of Nigeria. When we get empowered, all things shall be added onto us.
You cannot get that empowerment without international access. You are all keeping quiet when you see all the international airports located outside Igbo land. Tomorrow you will start complaining that those people did not join our efforts. When you plan a war, you put it WAY BEYOND THE REACH of failure. That is how we should be thinking, not cherry picking history and cutting and dicing fault-lines.
The above post is one of the most regrettable comments I have ever read on Nairaland. Before ever the shooting war erupted between Nigeria and Biafra, Nigeria, particularly eastern region, has become the arena of international activities among the world powers especially USSR, UK and USA. It was not out-of-place that British government declared eastern region of Nigeria the most lucrative real estate in the commonwealth of British Empire. In addition, Africa was just seeing the light of civilized world and there was no doubt eastern region had more than its fair share of man power relative to its size. There was Ojukwu’s factor which played heavily on the socio-political minds of the kingmakers, thus, the so-called world powers. These world powers had first experience of what seems to loom over Nigeria in the crisis over Congo via Katanga. I shall not elaborate further on this subject but should alert Nigerians that the present state of the country was what the so-called world powers had wanted since 1960.

I do not care if Igbo land is arid and unproductive wasteland, the need to have Republic of Igbo land remains the crux of my political amalgam. Nigeria will never progress beyond the growth of concrete and reinforcement bars. During Mr. Clinton’s time in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, a group of southerners appealed to USA government to ease the danger of traveling to Lagos or Abuja or Kaduna for visa or other business documents because of incessant religious riots in Nigeria by looking towards Enugu or Port Harcourt or Owerri or Calabar as consulate site. Promises were made and that was the end of it. However, I was shock to read recently that USA is trying to open consulate in Kano amidst Boko Haram crisis.

I guess a word is enough for southerners especially the so-called SE and SS.

Beaf: 26 July 1968 cool
That is when the assault on Bonny occurred.

The 3rd Marina Commando was formed AFTER Biafra had been driven back from Benin. It was formed from units of the Lagos Garrison and greatly bolstered by local recruitment. They went on to capture "Escravos, Burutu, Urhonigbe, Owa and Aladima. They captured Bomadi and Patani, Youngtown, Koko, Sapele, Ajagbodudu, Warri, Ughelli, Orerokpe, Umutu and Itagba" from Biafra: http://www.dawodu.com/omoigui32.htm
Dude, you are very funny indeed. Please stop messing with these backwater authors who knew nothing next to their noses. Owerri had fallen to Nigerian troops in 1968 talk less of Ubani (Boony).
what date did the midwest division (3mco) begin to assemble at escravos?
what date did biafra march into midwest?
Fact: LGO later 3rd division later 3MCDO launched an amphibious attack on Ubani (Bonny) in eastern region on or later than July 12, 1967 and on July 26, 1967 Bonny was captured.
Fact: Two weeks later on August 8, 1967, Biafra launched counterattack on Nigeria through Mid-western region .

PhysicsQED: Lt. Igbinosa came from Lagos to Benin to get boats from Ejoor (and is it not stated why or when he originally procured those boats 'from the Delta' in Omoigui's account! - yet another sloppy and misleading omission from an otherwise good writer) in order to escort them to Bonny (which were his orders and his job, not Ejoor's) and was turned back by Ejoor's (Igbo) subordinate officers, and neither Igbinosa nor Ejoor did anything about this. Yet the one person who supposedly deserves blame or who is not neutral is claimed to be Ejoor. Amazing!
I am happy you raised this issue. Among northern region officers and rank, Gowon and Nigerian army headquarter selected Lt. Igbinosa (name sounding very Edo or Urhobo or Itsekiri) to travel to Benin City to escort the boats secured by Ejoor and Mid-western region for LGO pending attack on Ubani (Bonny) in eastern region yet nitwits are claiming neutrality. In fact, Lt Col Nwawo was in-charge of command of the troops in Benin City and I read that Major Igboba sent the young Lt. Igbinosa back to Lagos.

You must have to consider the flux nature of things at the time in question because of questionable loyalty was abounded. My take was mid-western regional government acquired the boats before the July 29, 1966 coup but Gowon tried to get the boats for LGO operation in Ubani (Bonny) through Ejoor but the plan ran into brick wall when the Igbo boys in Benin City caught the drift of the it.

Beaf: Oga Dede, nobody did anything in Escravos before the invasion of the Midwest.

It does not pay you and neither does it pay me to be liberal with dates.
Dates and sequence are extremely important in any recounting of historical events.

When you put sequence in, your account above becomes a distortion of history. The Midwest had nothing against Biafra until the invasion. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, Ejoor even sent the troops under his command to Nsukka, leaving the Midwest totally open, At that point or before, Biafra should have consulted with him.
This is laughable indeed. For all intent and practical purpose, Ejoor was a mere figure-head in mid-western region during the period Ironsi was declared missing. The military show in mid-western region was ran by army headquarter in Lagos or Lt Col Nwawo with team of Igbo officers posted to Benin City.

David Ejoor never commanded a unit in Nigerian army as big as a battalion. The opportunity to command army unit as big as battalion was granted to him by Ironis but was truncated by Gowon-led coup of July 29, 1966.

Beaf: I told you to go find out who a particular name was, but you obviously want to avoid the discomfort of the truth in its plain nak'edness.
Biafra bungled their war effort terribly in the Midwest and that is the reason for the heaps of unjust lies. They felt the minorities were too small to talk to. You don't just invade a mans territory, execute people, cart some off to Enugu, hunt for the governor dead or alive and naively think that bad blood would not be generated.

Dude, someone phucked up and felt it was easier to tell a lie (afterall, it was against minorities who barely had a voice). That lie became propaganda and has since been repeated from father to son. Regardless, it remains a lie.
Take time out to study what really transpired in the Midwest; look at it with completely fresh eys and you would conclude that the story you have grown up to believe is ridiculous and cannot have any stretch of truth in it.
You sound funny talking about Biafra and minorities yet you forgot that minority ran the show in Biafra. From secretary of government, second in command, division commanders, brigade commanders, ambassadors, head of propaganda to commissioners were people from minority. I know one Urhobo Major who was a brigade commander in Biafra and was very close to Ojukwu. The major’s kids still live in Enugu as write this post. Please stop the crap about minority.

You have the same wrong notion about a mere permanent secretary in the ministry of trade and industry. If Biafra really wanted to do numbers on minorities in mid-western region, permanent secretary should not be the target.

Beaf: 3MCDO was only created after unecessary bad blood had been created against the Igbo's from their invasion of the Midwest. Up until the mistake in the Midwest, the civil war was considered and fought as a battle between the East and North. In fact, all prior attacks against Biafra had come through the Benue/Kogi route. In all these attacks, Biafra always gave the federal side a resounding beating. It can be confedently said that up till the invasion of the Midwest, Biafra had the upper hand. So why open a needless front through the Midwest and create unnecessary enmity? Why throw victory away?

I will tell you something else my dad told me. It was that the federal troops were extremely piss-poorly trained and trigger happy. They would advance and when they came across the smallest bush, would set up machine guns and cut it down with bullets, because they were afraid of what could be behind it.
Now, faced with such a useless mob, victory should have been easy for Biafra. Why did they need to create bad blood with Midwesterners who were merely neutral unlookers (being just minorities)? The turning point of the war came with the mass recruitment of Southern soldiers.
The "Edo, Itsekiri, Eshan, Urhobo and Ijo" you mentioned would never have joined in if they did not feel violated by the invasion of the Midwest.

At most, Biafra needed to keep the route through Agbor to Onitsha under lock and key and NO MORE.
I am of the view you are better than this disingenuous and despicable display on the thread. After the unsuccessful July 29, 1966 coup, due to the fact eastern region was no-go area for Gowon and northern soldiers, Nigeria (which include northern, western and mid-western regions) and Gowon decided to invade eastern region. In fact, with urging of David Ejoor, Gowon relocated LGO under Adekunle to Escravos to be bloated into a brigade or possible a division. It was at Escravos, Mid-western region that less than a battalion LGO was built into a brigade with young men from Yoruba, Edo, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Eshan and Isoko. Also, David Ejoor procured some of the sea-landing crafts LGO needed to launch amphibious operation on Ubani (Bonny) in eastern region of July 16, 1967. By the time Bonny was captured on July 26, 1967, LGO has grown into a full division with designated name of 3rd division.

I do believe you are intelligent enough to discern that July is a month ahead of August. Since Nigeria, including Mid-western region, had been attacking eastern region from July 6, 1967, a person wonders what instigated you to deduce that Biafra punitively launched a military attack against a country such as Republic of Mid-western Region.

As matter of fact, Biafra would have launched military attack on Nigeria through mid-western region earlier than August 8, 1967 when it did. I guess in your neck of wood, they count the months of year from December to January that is reason you thought Biafra first initiated attack through mid-western region.

Obiagu1: The very sincere truth is that a Biafra that includes the minority groups is not possible if Nigeria was allowed to disintegrate into as many countries as possible. The likes of Isoko will become a country on their own, because they feel they have oil, dumping their brothers, the Urhobos. Itsekiri, Ikwerri, Ibibio etc will become countries since many of them have the dream of becoming Sheiks and ultra wealthy because of oil, no other reason!

A Biafra that includes minority groups could only happen if the UN specified the number of countries in any post Nigeria like in Sudan where we have just north and south. In this situation, they will resist, create problems everywhere because the feel their oil is meant for them and them alone. Every other person is a parasite.

I look forward to post Nigeria in any form.
Bros, you stated the reasons I wanted Nigeria to disintegrate into 300 nations. Some of these ninnies do not know that crude oil only contributes no more than 14% of Nigeria’s gross national product. And when crude oil from the offshore is removed, some of these loudmouthed punks will realize the jokers they have been all this while. If Obasanjo has carried out the decision of the supreme court on dichotomy of offshore and onshore crude oil wells, many states would be irrelevant on the issue of crude oil.

Beaf: Another curious aspect of the war is that David Ejoor halted the Northerners from carrying out assassinations in Enugu. The 1967 counter-coup wasn't just to end in Lagos, but was too be a total wipeout of senior Igbo officers even in the East.

So what happened in between that time and the war that Biafra wanted him dead or alive?

Curious stuff. cool
Please tell me you are not in a state of unreasonable desperation to spread falsehood. When the coup of July 29, 1966 occurred, Ejoor was already military governor of Mid-western region and had been posted out of 1st Battalion at Enugu. As a matter of fact, Ejoor has not resumed duty as the commander of 1st Battalion in place of Lt Col Fajuiyi when Jaunary 15, 1966 coup was precipitated. When Ironsi assumed command as head of state, he posted Ejoor to Mid-western region as military governor while the command of 1st Battalion temporally rested on shoulder of Major David Ogunenwe. One wonders how inconsequential David Ejoor halted the Northerners from carrying out assassinations in Enugu when Ejoor could not halt Lt D S Dimka from chasing Major S Ogbemudia across Benin City.
Politics › Re: Will Nigeria Break Up By 2015? by Dede1(m):
Beaf: Banjo was aware of the atrocities Biafra had left behing them. In fact his reason for stopping at Ore was because he feared that a revenge mission would hit him from Benin, since he had failed to capture Ejoor and Ogbemudia dead or alive (as he was commanded to).

You have to ask questions about why Ejoor had moved his troops out to Nsukka province at the time Biafra invaded and why the defense of the Midwest was left in the hands of Okwechime, Igboba, Nwajei, Nwawo and Ochei (all Igbo's). To the casual observer, it would seem that the Midwest deliberately left the door open. Only to be rewarded with a haunt for Ejoor and Ogbemudia (dead or alive), as well as the execution and kidnap of the Midwests top govt functionaries and civil servants in what was a poorly planned coup.

-Odogwu, Bernard: No place to hide: crises and conflicts inside Biafra. Fourth Dimension Publishers, 1985.

The man was simply petrified with what Biafra had left behind.
You have written like someone who is oblivious to military parlance. What would it have meant to Biafra if Ejoor and Ogbemudia were captured dead or alive when both never even commanded a platoon during the civil war? Mid-western region was neither a country nor considered the rich real estate in Nigeria during the time frame in discussion. During the time frame paramount to this discussion, eastern region was the only prime real estate in Nigeria. I must say that Mid-western region was relevant in this discussion because it provided source for men, material and launching pad for Nigeria. 3MCDO was erected in Escravos by men drawn from Yoruba, Edo, Itsekiri, Eshan, Urhobo and Ijo. In addition, Mid-western region was unavoidable landmark situated between Biafra and Nigeria and seated on the possible route which will enable Biafrans to dislodge Gowon and soldiers from northern region in Lagos.

Beaf: We are getting somewhere at last!
It is really strange that anybody would go about lying that Biafra was "betrayed" by territory which they attacked. Don't you think?
Believe the rest of your bedside stories, sir. But on the day anybody wakes up to tell lies about "betrayal" from the Midwest who were Biafra's unfortunate victims, I'll be right here to pop common sense and truth into their sordid minds and pop out their left eye with logical left hooks and intellectually wicked uppercuts.
I really do not know where you pull this fallacious talk of “betrayal”. Betrayal exists if there were pre-agreed arrangement to act and suddenly one party backs away at last hour. In case of Nigeria/Biafra civil war, people were presented with an opportunity to choose side and many people did. However in choosing side, the people created a situation where we have mortal enemies within Nigeria.

I have decided to live with the fact there are people I consider enemy in the contest of Nigeria and there is no amount of name calling or attempts to sit history on its head will change such situation. We fought a war and tried very hard to annihilate each other. It will be very naïve to think history will not repeat itself and this time around there could be wiser actors than the previous war.

I have resolutely stated that in any event of disintegration of Nigeria, my preference is to have Republic of Igbo land. Seriously, I do not give a fig if the pending dissolution of Nigeria is hellishly bloody. I am not given to live the life of pretence and disintegrated Nigeria is all cherish for now.

What have you to say about Adekunle attacking us even before the move to Lagos?
I tend to response to unbearable falsehoods and conjectural craps spewed by those who granted effort to defeat Biafra. Sometimes, it is aimed at Ndigbo and Biafrans who seemed to be oblivious to the chronicle order of events leading to Nigeria/Biafra civil war.

As you pointed out, the goons would want us to believe that Biafra initiated attack on Nigeria through Mid-west while deceitfully flaunting the idiotic idea of neutrality. Mid-western region was part of Nigeria which acted as supply house for men and material, training ground and launching pad against Biafra. Nigeria declared war on Biafra on July 6, 1967 and on July 26, 1967 3MCDO, which has trained and gathered men and material at Escravos in Mid western region attacked and captured Bonny (Ubani) in Biafra. Biafra did not respond to the attack by Nigeria from Mid-western region until August 8, 1967.

What I cannot stand and will never allow, is for anybody to tell hateful lies and play the victim as far as the Midwest war was concerned, whereas the Midwesterners were the victims.

After the Biafran atrocities and escaping execution, my dad also had to run when federal troops came into town; he spent the rest of the war in the village. Luckily the Biafran occupation did not last long. It was an ugly period in the Midwest when life was cheap, my father tells stories of FG troops driving their landrovers over dead bodies with the sound of heads popping under their wheels.
There was nothing called Mid-west war during the civil war. Biafran troops attacked Nigerian territory which was named mid-western region. It is a mark of irredeemable irresponsibility for anybody to make a wild unsubstantiated allegation of atrocity against anybody. It is a shame on any fool who thinks it is right to vomit allegation without a string of truth that can stand the scrutiny of curious minds. Biafran forces were not bunch of unit-less marauders who pillaged countryside. They were regimented unit with insignia on the shoulders depicting battalion and brigade or even division. So it is blatant falsehood for anybody capable of directing foods to his or her mouth instead of the nose to spew crap of atrocity with stating the name of commander, battalion or brigade.

Here is the truth again:
It has been more than five years to date, we are still waiting for Nowa to name one commander or battalion or brigade that was involved in the alleged massacre in Urhonigbe Rubber Plantation. In addition to the scourge and humiliation of the occupation itself, fleeing Biafran soldiers carried out all kinds of unspeakable acts of brutality against the local population (17, 18 ). At the Urhonigbe Rubber Plantation, for example, hundreds of Midwesterners were summarily shot by regular and militia units which had already blazed a 'scorched-earth' trail of terror through Benin-West division (14).

Unfortunately, therefore, temptation to seek revenge against Ibos was very strong shortly after federal troops arrived...

http://www.dawodu.net/midwest.htm
This is absolute nonsensical conjecture by Nowa Omoigiui. I am a member of the group named NNWDC which took hack writer in Nowa to task by quarrying him to provide an iota of proof either by naming the commander or battalion or brigade that committed said atrocity at the plantain plantation. Nowa was unable as church rat to proffer any clue of Biafrans who committed such act. It was funny Nowa blamed the lack of evidence to the moronic claims on Nigerian’s inability to gather intelligence during the war. It was not surprise to us because if the British did not provide such intelligence gathering capability, Nigeria was dead as a road kill.
When Biafra accused Nigeria of atrocities committed as in the cases of Asaba and Ogba Egbama, Biafra did not only provide the brigade or battalion involved but also the commanding officers of the uints.

Careytommy for example is from Akwa ibom state, and a HUGE chunk of the people from there fought for Biafra and suffered alongside other Biafrans. The Biafran second in command was an Ibibio man. No twisting of history can ever change that. The attack on Careytommy was uncalled for.

As for bbreye, the Ijaw were split too (especially the Eastern Ijaw), so I cannot tongue lash him either.
I wish my brother Dede1 would calm down for once about his views on these groups.
As for the Mid-west, I believe that Biafra failed to do a good job BEFORE the war. The incursion by Biafran special forces (the S- Brigade) was only a defensive offense (after the war had already started), so that is understandable. The strategic damage was done BEFORE the war. Let no one forget that, lest a mistake is repeated.

Every Biafran adult (anyone above 18 years during the war) should make it a DUTY to be very honest about what happened during the war. Today's Nigerian politics shouldn't make anyone twist facts.
I've said my peace.
I would have appreciated it if you had reread my posts and responses to the thread before you posted. Careytommy appeared to be one of the ninnies who would want to be counted for all the wrong reasons about minority ethnic groups in Nigeria. It is rather unfortunate careytommy injected an ethnic group I held in high esteem into this debate. I had to affirm the fact there were eastern region minorities who bore the brunt of the Nigeria/Biafra civil war as do Ndigbo. The Ibibio, Annang, Ogoni and eastern Ijo carried their waters to see that Biafra stood the chance of survival. Believe me I can not forget the efforts made by the members of the aforementioned ethnic groups along with Ndigbo so that we can collectively control our destiny in a country such as Biafra. There is no need to mention names of gallantry military officers and administrators from Ibibio, Annang, Ogoni and eastern Ijo who made utmost sacrifice in the name of Biafra.
Dede1, I do not admire your foolish antics of calling our dear country cesspit, but I know that you try your best to provide historical facts regardless of whose ox is gored (though you embellish once in a while). Now, what really happened? Why did you, Eziachi (the respected NL biafran warrior) and others do what Beaf alleges? I ask you because I know you do not shy away from difficult questions.
It is even a worse imbecilic antic to call Nigeria a dear country than cesspit. What a jerk. I do not pay slight mind to idiotic comments such as “my region was neutral” during the conflict dubbed Nigeria/Biafra civil war. There was no time in course of Nigerian history that mid-western region was not part of Nigeria even when Biafra created Republic of Benin, non-Igbo indigenes of the region regarded themselves as Nigerians.

David Ejoor attended several meetings on behalf of mid-western region as a Nigerian and member of Nigerian contingent even in Aburi, Ghana. David Ejoor was among the military administrators and staff officers who urged Gowon to usurp power in 1966. Mid-Western region was the training ground and supplied men and material to Nigerian forces which launched amphibious attack on Biafra on July 6, 1967. To the best of my knowledge, Escravos which was home of the re- located LGO that metamorphous into 3MCDO was part and parcel of Mid-western region of Nigeria. The bulk of 3MCDO that attacked Biafra and captured Bonny on July 26, 1967 was drawn from Yoruba, Isoko, Itsekiri, Eshan, Edo, Urhobo and Ijo.

It is pure display of inherent rascality and disingenuous for anybody to insinuate there was mundane sense of neutrality during Nigeria/Biafra conflict. It is either a person was for Nigeria or Biafra. Sometimes moronic dingbats tend to play ignorance to the chronicle order of events that led to Nigeria/Biafra civil war.

Again, I did not bring Nigeria/Biafra civil war to this debate. I have no qualms to re-iterate my desire to have the jungle called Nigeria disintegrated into many countries as long as there is Republic of Igbo land. I shall fight to make sure there is no such thing called Southern Nigeria because it will be another Nigeria.

but the guy is one smart arzz, met him once.
Of course, he is very smart. Elechi Amadi is a man who graduated with a degree in physical sciences before joining Nigerian army, rose to rank of captain and ran back to eastern region when the easterners were no longer welcomed in northern region in 1966. He became the acting principal of Asa High School, Asa , Ukwa LGA in 1966 when the current principal, Mr M. Onwuma, was appointed administrator of Aba province.

bbpreye: I think the Niger delta republic will be a second saudi arabia because we would become kings and princes, I will personally buy manchester utd when the time comes. Then d aboki dem they can come and be flogging nama for us. Let d ibgos n d west join us. These abokis should go back to niger rpublic! Kapish
It seems you are still in a deep slumber. There shall never be an entity called Niger Delta republic. If you are Ijo, you should think about the means to defend the creeks and stop being ashamed of whom you and your forbearers represented. You should quit thinking about the so-called “Aboki” and romanticize with fairy tale of the hunter, bush fowl and hen.

manny4life: Personally, I don't think so. However, like someone said, I don't think breaking up is the issue, but into how many pieces is the real issue. Also, will the breakup be peaceful or bloody?
I do not give a ratarse how many countries will come out of disintegrated cesspit called Nigeria. In addition, I do not care if the pending breakup of Nigeria shall be incessantly bloody. If any group can not fight to secure its future, the group has to vacate.
I thought you said they are your brothers?
There are Yoruba people I considered more brothers than Elechi Amadi and his fellow Ikwerre peeps who think they not Igbo. If I am presented an opportunity to shoot either Elechi Amadi or Wole Soyinka or Ayo Ariyo or Ijebu Ode cocoa farmers or Agbakoya, I will shoot Elechi Amadi instead. My present position does not make Elechi Amadi less Igbo than any Igbo peep on the street. My aunt is married to an Ikwerre dude in Igwurunta (Igrinta) and stayed in my hometown throughout the duration of civil war.

ChinenyeN: It is now that you have finally begun to realize what my "premise" has been this entire time. It was never about the "sub-groups", but about the union itself. This union is becoming increasingly unattractive, the longer things go unfixed. As a consequence, it shouldn't be difficult to imagine a people's (I'm done with the words sub-group and clan) desire to opt-out and remain opted out. After all, none are under any obligation what so ever to remain, because as I stated earlier, this union is born from convenience and politics. If things continue to be politically inconvenient, then a people's disassociation should not come as a surprise.

As for what a person's puprose should be; there is no such thing as purpose in this context. If you want to fix what has remained unfixed, then you do so. If you feel so strongly about this outsider-sponsored amalgam, then you do something about it. Do what you can to counteract the current state of unattractiveness. Here, there is no we or our. A koruora oko ngwere ya akuruo isi. If you (or anyone else) know(s) what you need to do to make this union more attractive to peoples (i.e. politically conveinent), then do so. Don't expect disgruntled collective people to put so much effort into something they have little to no belief in.

Nothing hit home, other than the unfitting comparison you decided to make between Igbo and Ngwa.
Who do you consciously expect to make the union politically and economically convenience so the interactive amalgam would be a smooth ride for opportunists? If the go-getters make the union a paradise and decide to corner the largest portion of it as reserved enclave, myopic opportunists shall be the first to mount the pulpit with bullhorns in hand announcing to the world how they have pushed aside in a project which is collectively owned.

What gives me pits today is the sight of economic downturn of the turncoats in eastern region of Nigeria who thought or assumed the “moronic northerners” would turn the fortune of eastern region over to them. All I can say and continue to pray about is continuous socio-politico-economic woes of Nigeria so that perceived disintegration will arrive sooner than expected.

The kidnappers should have shot the turncoat. I hope Elechi Amadi is poorer than he portrayed in this interview.
Truth must be told. No one is going to buy your senseless propaganda. The Ikwerres are NOT Ibos, so quit trying to force yourself on them. Call me whatever you want, it won't change the glaring realities. Funny, most of you writing nonsense here can't even point to one ikwerre man, yet you kept on churning daft theories to comfort each other.

Infact, most of them despise Ibos with passion. Only on the pages of the internet you would see expansionist claiming what belongs to others. In some places, the Ikwerres have placed embergo on selling of properties to you Ibos. Omok in rivers state is an example of such. If you sell your land to ibo in Omok, you die.
I guess a drooling mor0n such as you does not know when to shut up your putrid mouth. Ikwerre shall be ceded to Oodua Republic when Nigeria disintegrates so that you can stop foaming from the mouth. Chief Emmanual Aguma is Ikweere and Dr Francis Ellah was Omoku and both were pioneer founders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo as well as held prominent positions in the apex cultural organization of Ndigbo.
