Those who thinks the police, consisting of many good and dedicated officers, are the worst individuals to fear in Nigeria are just ignorant.

The horrendous looting seen throughout Lagos happened because many police officers simply went home and stayed there.

The police strike is illegal, insurbodination to higher authority can lead to sack...new recruits should be called in, salaries and welfare/equipments to ensure more protection should be issued.

You guys should stop this, you agreed to do police work, and you are being paid salaries, have your salaries stopped. No one is forcing you to be a police, do your job well, for your salary, pension and previledges. It is shameful for the police to say they can not protect themselves, with their big guns and other equipments...the protest is over, protect yourself, and the public, as you swore to do, be brave...maybe we neeed a better set of officers, those not willing to work, should be given marching orders to resume. Police work is based on heirachy, insurbodination should not be tolerated, they can not blackmail us, do your job or resign. very weak statement from the police.

The military has its code of conduct,since it was a order from state government, i suggest we dont make the military hang out their comrade, who were just carrying out an order.

The toll gates causes traffic, and governmenr is meant to provide good roads via taxes, it is wrong to receive toll fees for inner city access roads, the toll gates,increase in fuel price and phcn bills are among things that makes Nigerians angry. No more tollgate.

You must remember politicians will come and go, but the Nigerian army will always be here with us, they represent Nigeria. As adults, we understand that the army was put in a difficult position because they were called in...let us focus on the politicians giving the orders...cos in a democracy, politicians make the orders...that is why we need a people's legislature(senate/house of reps), let us remove all those greedy people there, and vote in the right people that represents us. Remember this, when the chips are down, it is the Nigerian military that will save the Nation, let us build it into a solid institution of Nigeria. I will never be too hasty to castigate and demoralise our military, Nigerians do this a lot, compared the other nations of the world. No matter the allegations levelled against American military in Iraq and afghanistan, the American people understood that the orders came from the politicians, and it was the politicians that suffered for it, because they understand that the military exists for their interest, the people's interest. I have been to some countries and i follow online commentaries...Nigerians should be wary of seccessonists sowing seeds of discord between the people and the Nigerian military institution.
