People that attempt to go burn police or kill officers will be shot, this can not lead to war...not all Nigerians go about looking for police to kill, cos most Nigerians know better. Hoodlums and police hunters will be shot...this is applicable in our laws. Killing police and burning down stations and releasing kidnappers, rapists and killers will only make things worst. |
Igbochief001:What he said is what the constitution says, there is a difference between protests, and riots/looting. The constitution is clear on it, this is what he is saying, till we reform our constitution...i do not think most protesters endorse riots and looting, as some of ordinary citizens properties were looted, some were injured and killed, i think the police can deal effectively with hoodlums, vandals, this is a minority compared to the number of peaceful protesters. Anyone is free to do what they like, but there is always reaction. |
OneTemplate:Apt...i was watching bbc news during the latest debate on new palliatives to give to the British people of a particular constituent, i was impressed at how the parliamentarian vigorously challenged the Prime Minister, demanding for more funding for members of the constituency, he was so passionate in representing his people, but in Nigeria our senate is rubber stamp, our house of reps are a** lickers to the executive, flashing flashy cars and bleeping all the girls up and down. This must stop, they must represent us, as their name implies, or we #recallthem# |
OneTemplate:#operationrecallsenatorsandrepmembers# we need a hashtage on this bro. We must force politicians to work, or recall them. We just need to demand strong Judiciary, and Juduciary must be 100% autonomous, as it is supposed to be under seperation of powers theory. We have dealt with the problem of a bad police force, let us work on our senate and legislature, this is where our main problem lies. |
abbeyfel:Yes, but protests must be peaceful, because the last one should teach us all a lesson, i kniw the protests were hijacked, but i think next strategy should not be about blocking of roads, because as history has shown, when roads are blocked other factions and citizens will go against the protests, cos it is infringing on their own right of peaceful movement, from one point to another without restrictions, and government is obliged to ensure to that. Let us not forget millions of Nigerian youths also work directly and indirectly for these unions, this is how they eat. The best way is conduct your protest, or take it to the national assembly, those are meant to be our representatives. This present democratic systems came about via both mental and violent revolution, the American civil war, American war for liberation from the British, World war was fought to preserve freedoms, of course it gave the allies an edge, they were the ones available to create the New World order.... great men like Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Mandela Madiba, and co, fought to entrench black liberation, and equal rights for all colours, during all these struggle a lot of people perished. We have this democracy now, paid for in sweat and blood, what are we doing with it, let us engage the youth mentally, and create a change. Do not be a thug to a useless politician wey no send yoy cos of chop change, do not vote for a thief politician cos of bag of rice and salt, by mental reorientation we can change this country quicker. It is not only vote, but support, rallies, and co, use your energy to support credible men of proven integrity. Nigeria is very tribalistic, violent revolution will lead to the people consuming each othet due to ethnic, religious, and tribal divides. People have died for this democratic system, and freedoms the world enjoys, almost 50million souls perished in WW2 alone... it is the best system the world recognises for now. We must not take this relative peace we enjoy for granted. Restructuring will come, but everything now under democracy is through ballots/public refferendum and votes/public opinion. We must move forward, let us use the instruments of democracy, and force politicians to work, from their constituencies or recall them. We demand a transparent INEC, and neutrality of security forces during elections, as it is seen in other democracies worldwide. Nigerians should push for constitutional reforms, on how we employ Election commission heads, the power should be under the legislature directly to vote for an election commission head, the legislature should be purged, we need credible men there...that is the people in government(senate/house of reps). |
use your life well. |
konji na bastard ![]() |
EndNair:Keep protesting without any goal, i see how you will do business in anarchy ![]() |
Nigeria being a federation unit, is divided in zones and states, i think each state should do what is right for them, those in the north dight against your problems and vice versa, we are not one, or same.North is worst now in terms of poverty, corruption and religious extremism, Yesufu Aisha should fight for the North, that is where she is from. |
Nigerians here is the police free state you want, hope you enjoy it...you clowns were happy that jailed inmates were set free, forgetting that they prey on the weak masses. |
Benin republic again ![]() |
What is the protest about? Let us allow our economy blossom, needless crisis, makes our economy look unstable to investors, bad for business. Sowore what is your protest about this time? please stop jeopardizing our livelihoods, we need economy to move to make income. This country belong to us all, let us manage it well, no need for continous endsars protests, too many lives have been lost to it, on both sides. |
You know their creed...idiot small boy. |
northvietnam:Can you be reasonable sometimes... |
SimplyFacts:The people have made their demands clear via the endsars protests, no more corrupt police,so let us wait and see how the reforms will go. attacking police men and burning their station is not condoned anywhere in the world, there is a reason police have guns. |
Win for Biden is win for gays, extremist terrorists worldwide will be more empowered. |
omooje1:He said when their lives is in danger, policemen are Nigerians too with family, without police we will have disorder in society, do you profit from disorder, or are you planing to attack the police? All lives matter. |
One of the best in Naija rap scene. |
Of course, in every country in the world police have the right to preserve their life when in danger, by any means necessary. Only a armed robber, killer, or fugitive will want to kill or harm the police, rules of engagement is clear, even in America and UK its same. Nigerians must know what they want, are they seeking a crime ridden society devoid of police? Only a fool will attack a police with AK 47, and expect the police will not shoot you. please let us stop making comments that will destroy this nation, what the IGP says is absolutely correct...did you kids read the full memo. There have been mad traffic and disorder in the city since the law enforcement agencies are not around. Is Nairaland filled with jobless kids and vagabonds?...even if you are immune to the threats, what about your father, mother, brother or sister, anyone can fall victim. |
Pussywar:nice write up, intelligent lady. |
The moniker though ![]() |
What does this mean, nothing but hear say. |
Nazgul:stop living in the past. |
They take their orders from sheiks and umars in Iran...this is modern day slavery, Africans carrying out the wishes of their arab masters. |
Mancrossfire:I saw people, ordinary everyday people, Nigerians looting, thugs and normal citizens alike...wake up, or stop lying when the truth is obvious...when the chip falls, it will be a civil war between have and have nots. |
optm:I never said people can not or should not protest, shaking the nation more than the last incident, is not protests, its more violence. please read where we are coming from, dont just jump into a debate. |
lexy2014:There is no proof that the reason these people were stopped were cos they participated in the protest, no official response on it yet. Like i said earlier the headline is misleading... |
lexy2014:Am sure you understand my point...its sensationalism, journalists use it to get more views, its part of their business. |
Mancrossfire:Of course protests is allowed, everyone has a right to protest, but destruction of other people's property and looting, infringing on other's right of movement, will always be challenged, and this always leads to confrontations between factions and interests. |
lexy2014:The general term used in the headline "endsars promoters"...they are hundreds of promoters, this happened to a couple of people that participated, kind of misleading headline. |
