justmondris:Am stating what will happen, we have made our point...a state of emergency will only make life hard for the people. |
If the violence and looting continue, a state of emergency will take effect in Lagos...so many people here do not know this. Lagosians make we speak for ourselves, every state is peculiar, business must continue, let us give a chance to them to do the requests of the protest. |
Time to calm things down, resolutions accepted, they will address them, he said, even the senate accepted and passed a resolution on the points raised. In a democracy you can only change government via elections, that is why we must support credible candidates...trying to use force to change a government is insurrection or coup, the government must respond. Our constitution also gives the President the right to call for state of emergency, continous violence willl definitely make him activate it...let us work via elections and legislation, no President will fold its hands and let you take over power, this is fact, let us retrace our steps now, and not plunge our nation into the dark unknown...i say this with all sense of responsibility, and am an advocate of the end sars movement...but not burning down our city/country...we must calm down and resume business. |
teacherbim:wise talk. |
Lets look at things both ways...not every resident was happy about the road being blocked...every citizen has a right to move freely, at the announcement of the curfew via a legitimate authority, the protesters should have cleared. Though i blame the govt for sending the military to clear them, there are other means of clearing protests legitimately...there are disputes about the death toll, i live around the area, i have first hand info...awon blogger blogger ![]() |
Everyone must reason together, or we perishas fools...let us not forget what the protest was about. Every society has a police force to stand in the balance, for business and society to thrive. We protested for police reforms, not for banishment of police, every sane person knows there are different types of people in a society, chaos will only favor those involved in the business of war and looting. We must calm down, we can only get what we want via constitutional means. Let us push for constitutional reforms, via legitimate means, the other way will only benefit a few... |
Jonathan39:The officers too have relations, they are Nigerians, the issue was about SARS and police reforms, it is dumb hijacking a court and beating up the staff there, they are not SARS. Speak with reason and intelligence or STFU, if you do not know the importance of courts... |
joepepsy:No one cares about your Zurich, am responding about the issue. Since you are not here, why not say something more progressive or keep mute. |
Basicend:Dont mention me spewing nonsense, i did not come online to respond to nonsense...are the police not still in service?...So Police can not protect themselves and their stations...its shameful. They are still being paid salaries, they need to do their job and clear the streets off hoodlums. Peaceful protesters said end sars, not end police, think before you talk. There are clear rules of engagement, no sane legitimate citizen will burn a police station and steal rifles/release prisoners, in this scenerio the police have every right to shoot to kill, no one will blame police for protecting their station. |
Collins4u1:Revolution of stealing and killing? In any revolution, there is a goal, an end game, and that needs to be led and established by a committed conscious leader...this is not a revolution, but a free for all for criminals and hooligans, the peaceful protesters are home. |
Swooziem9m9:It is only hooligans in the streets now, helping themselves, blocking roads and looting will not benefit the common man, even if it persists for a hundred years, people need to chill, so this curfew ends. We need to continue our business. |
Any criminal breaking into police stations should be shot, wtf are the police doing with their guns? Criminals are enemies of the state. |
joepepsy:We all have demons inside, no one is stopping you, go ahead, showcase your demons ![]() |
joepepsy:There are lots of cultists and killers, who choose that way of life, life is choice. My point is if want you want is anarchy, then be prepared for it. |
iLegendd:Civil war is different from pockets of gang violence, i pray you witness civil war, to see the difference. |
iLegendd:destroying is easy, even libya with over 900billion in liquid assets have not been able to rebuild their country, If Nigeria falls, that is the end, it will be worst than Somalia...you kids should know what you wish for...what is the end goal? |
Pierced:Politicians come and go, we all are government, we must be careful what we wish for, not toshoot ourselves in the foot. Those hoodlums are your enemy, they will rob and rape you if they have a chance. |
smartsmith0907:Are you sure about this? |
Killers, armed robbers have no friend, you are their prey...we must be objective, our problem is bad politicians, the plan is not to turn Nigeria to Libya. Be wise. |
ozy4christ:This useless blogger stop responding to my mention if you do not have reasonable thing to say...cos this repitition makes you sound really childish. We only need verified news. |
ozy4christ:Little girl, do you have a gun, if this escalates into a civil war, can you kill? What is the end game of burning stations and killing officers, is this what the protests is all about...how did you confirm the officer killed 11 people...it is always both ways, those officers being killed and shops being looted are Nigerians with families and people too, if everyone starts carrying out vandetta, burning every building and shop...is that what you want? You better start reasoning and not allow your blogging career consume your life. |
Stop supporting this, this type of exhibitions is taking us no where. |
Mr Seun update your system to filter and weed out fake news, its getting too much, it can cause chaos. |
Is it a war against police or SARS, a unit of the police? This is unecessary, these are public infrastructures, police stations are not owned by police officers or politicians, these are dumb misguided youths, controlled by criminals. |
You can not expect not to be shot when approaching to burn a police station, invade a residential estate to rob and kill supposed rich...these are acts of criminality, parents and people should warn family members...you can not expect to be robbing causing mayhem, without being shot. There must be an end game, some of us are objective, we can not foolishly support mayhem being prepretrated by hoodlums and criminals, hoodlums and criminals have no income source, they stir up trouble to loot and rob...this is the only way they eat. |
Be warned, these criminals looting guns are armed robbers they will use it on innocent citizens, who they prey on. |

wakaman:Its really sad, some Nigerian youths are not objective at all, it was about end sars, why are police being killed and hunted, it is simply criminals carrying out vandetta and reprisals, like i said earlier, if the police do not wake up to its duty, people will gang up and bear arms to kill these hoodlums, then it will spiral out of control into a civil war, and most online chest beaters have never been in a gunfight before, talk more of a full blown war. |
Stupid youth. |
Ustec:I think it was exxagerated a bit, the officers were shooting in the air...though their prescence was uncalled for. Till now no conclusion on casualty. The press must be careful, not to incite people to chaos, i know news is your business, but please do not turn Nigeria to Libya cos you need more views. https://www.nairaland.com/6196480/man-dismisses-report-him-being

It is not a massacre, massacre is when scores were killed, let us use grammer properly, social media should not stir up unecessary tension. |
