I used to have some respect for this man. So dissappointing a fellow. PDP in Lagos? To come and serve us with the uninspiring leadership as they have in Ondo today?

Nansense!

Call Tinubu any name you want, but his performance in government is stellar. And he gave Lagos Fasola who has performed.

PDP in Lagos? call it a bad dream.

Is this meant to go round? Will it be another avenue to gather money for the boys? Or to gather funds for 2015?

Since it has been 'launched' van they tell me where to go get mine?

Let us see if it will get to he average Nigerian or if you have to go and pay somebody to get it.

Politics › Re: 480 Nigerian Soldiers Flee To Cameroon by Dee60: 4:00pm On Aug 25, 2014
BH has exposed our military!

The last thing you want to hear is that Nigerian soldiers are running to Cameroun for help, Cameroun is the country that we have looked at as one of the poorest in Africa.

We as a country may realize one day that corruption is the biggest problem of our country and no one has promoted that corruption (or stealing!) like this administration.
Politics › Re: President Jonathan Sick, Flown to Germany for Urgent Medical Treatment by Dee60: 2:35pm On Aug 23, 2014
Wisepac: Goodluck Jonathan's led FG is indirectly arm-twisting poor Nigerians to raise fund for his 2015 campaign via CBN reintroduction of ATM Charges of N65 on other banks. Former ZENITH BANK MD, Jim Ovia sponsored Emefiele for CBN top job, he's also a major financial of GEJ 2015 campaign through TAN. Do you expect him to use his money? Remember, the billionaires don't use ATM, but we poor civil servants, business men/women, students, labourers & low income earners do. Our case is that of pay back time.
If Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, former CBN governor (now Emir of Kano) could stop the extra charge of using ATM on another bank, why reintroduce it again?
Nigerians should wise-up. Blessing the rich from peanuts of the poor.
Imagine the number of ATM withdrawal that happen daily in Nigeria.
This is time to acts, say no to this exploitation.
Help spread this message through Facebook, twitter, whatsapp & all social media.
Say no to N65 charges on ATM withdrawal from other banks.
#saynotoN65chargeonatm
It seems obvious that they have picked a CBN Governor that can hardly stand to their antics. In less than 3 months, the man has introduced a major anti-people policy. Long queues in banking halls, heavy penalty for using ATM and transfer charges when you use online transfer all amount to anti-people policy.

Sad!

Health › Re: American Doctor Treated For Ebola Released From The Hospital by Dee60: 11:03pm On Aug 21, 2014
bushdoc9919: Well, there are reasons.....

1. The drug has only been made for lab tests so far – not for countering an epidemic
Less than 100 doses of the drug are currently available. So far the ZMapp serum has only been manufactured in quantities suitable for small-scale tests – most recently on 20 monkeys. However, it is effective – in limited animal tests so far ZMapp has been successful. When administered to monkeys one hour after infection, all animals survived. Two-thirds of the animals were protected even when the ZMapp treatment was administered 48 hours after infection.

2. ZMapp is made by a small San Diego pharmaceutical company, with only 9 employees…
Mapp has only nine employees – to put that into perspective, pharma giant Pfizer has 78,000. Mapp just doesn’t immediately have the capacity to scale up.“The manufacturer has been planning for phase 1 clinical trials and does not have the capacity to manufacture large quantities of the treatment,” says the US Center for Disease Control.

3. It’s not just a case of mixing some chemicals together
More importantly, making ZMapp is not a case of swirling some chemicals together in a test-tube. The monoclonal antibodies in ZMapp have to be produced from specially-grown and harvested cells. The special cells were initially made by fusing human cells with those taken from a mouse infected with ebola. After careful nurturing and selection, cells able to produce antibodies are cloned. These hybrid cells are then placed inside tobacco leaves. Why leaves? They act as a nurturing environment where the cells can reproduce and thrive. Initially mice were used to produce the antibody-rich liquid. Using leaves is quicker and cheaper. But even then, it’s not just a case of squeezing the leaves out – once the liquid is extracted from the leaves, it has to be purified and tested for strength. Then the antibodies have to be modified to be more acceptable to the human immune system.

There are more than 100 Nigerians, including ex militants who can give 1 million dollars each to support the US company, but they will rather buy private jets and expensive mansions for mistresses!

To worsen it, our government played dirty political with citizens' lives by portraying US as being wicked by not 'giving' us the drugs. As if US government had a warehouse full of such drugs ready to ship!

Again they raised hopes about Nano Silver, until the manufacturers came out to say it can hinder the spread of the virus in human body but cannot cure it!

Where do we go next? Has it not occurred yet to someone to get on the plane and team with the makers of ZMapp?

Let us stop the lies and embrace the truth. It will help us as a nation.

Why blame America for using American drug to treat An American?

When are we going to wake from slumber and to remember that life is more than just embezzling funds and transferring them the stolen funds abroad?

Where does America and Britain get the funds to develop their countries? Are those funds not partly from the monies Africans stow away in their banks?

We have to wake up and use our brains.

Who gave the misleading information that she was discharged?

Who is getting so arrogant and not doing the right thing to make Nigeria get the right drug, whereas Liberia is now treating her own people with it? Did we need to beg America or simply go to the manufacturers to "invest" in the drug? America knowing about the wealth of our officials. would they give us anything free?

What is wrong with our country?

Sad loss!

Health › Re: Doctors Hit Lagos Streets To Protest Mass Sack (PHOTOS) by Dee60: 11:03am On Aug 19, 2014
It makes no sense at all to sack 16,000 doctors in a place like Nigeria. Doctors are needed in the society and should be well paid. At any rate, if you chase them from teaching hospitals, they will go into private hospitals and will still earn, but they will not be receiving vital training to improve their skills.

FG is just trying to promote quackery by this move.

Corruption remains our Number 1 problem! I think the President goofed very badly when he claimed otherwise. Ex militants can buy private jets from gains from centre, while we continue to neglect essential personnel in society.
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Suspect: We Were Sent To Bomb Lagos Airport by Dee60: 10:21am On Aug 19, 2014
This is how they will continue to fail. These are just miscreants who should have been guided properly by society.

The northern elders, so called, must change their ways. There you see the children of the rich go to Oxford and Harvard and come back to be CBN chiefs, while the poor are neglected and subtly encouraged to become almajiris!

Obasanjo launched UBE to try to correct this but the effort seems too little. GEJ has launched his own initiative, and again it seems they are just scratching the surface.

We need proper and affordable education for the whole north (and indeed for Nigeria) otherwise you will continue to see youths being lured into such a group like BH.

You can argue that there are professors and lawyers in BH. But do these elite members strap bombs on themselves?

Only in Nigeria will you pay militants more than you pay consultants! And many cant see through. What does the FG use 52% allocation for? They find it easy to publish what they allocate to states and LGs but cannot tell us how the 52% is spent. Is all that money spent on oil subsidieshuh?
Health › Re: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by Dee60: 10:49am On Aug 16, 2014
TRADELYN: How will they get the American ZMAPP?

I read in newspapers that President Obama disapproved the use on Africans naa undecided
American government does not sell drugs!!! FG ought to know how to do these things. If you are desperate about any new drug or any new product you will go and invest 'seed money' so that the trials can be finalized. FG should 'invest' in ZMAPP instead of discussing with government. Nothing goes for free. It cost millions to come out with a new drug and we should not be thinking that the producers will dole it for free. That simply does not make any business sense. Stop the cap in hand approach to hings. We need ZMapp? Then invest in it and get it and dont turn it into another politics.

I dont know how FG came about the nano silver solution.I hope it is not another 'salt water' or 'kolanut' solution! We cannot toy with lives. Nano Silver is not cheap and it is also an American product, so they do not have anything to lose if we keep importing it. I am sure that their concern is to avoid travelers importing Ebola into the US, so they are also having a stake in this.
Politics › Re: Lesotho Pull Out Of AYC Qualifier Against Nigeria Over Ebola outbreak by Dee60:
Haba?

The fact that Chibok girls were taken reduced our credibility by half.

The fact that Chibok girls have not been rescued more than 100 days after reduced it further by three-quarters.

Now, there is Ebola, and it seems no one wants to trust Nigerian government again.

And that is starting to rub on the citizens and on the nation.

Let us stop deceiving and lying to ourselves so that people can start trusting us again.

Possibly serious about not being serious about anything. They owe us only one thing now - free and fair elections- So we should at least acknowledge that they have not captured Osun against the wishes of the people.
