The pessimists claim it is easy to get a first class in CU. They need to show us how easy it was to get theirs!
Congrats, lady. You are a great inspiration to younger girls. Thank you CU for creating an institution well loved by employers!

Sports › Re: Opinion: Africa Should Boycott The Next World Cup by Dee60: 3:37pm On Jul 08, 2014
In 2014 African teams like Nigeria and Algeria showed a lot of DISCIPLINE. It is only a matter of time. Keshi got it right in terms of pegging the wings of the 'big boys' except a few. He could do better next time. The few big boys remaining should be put in their place.
Sports › Re: Opinion: Africa Should Boycott The Next World Cup by Dee60: 3:24pm On Jul 08, 2014
In Nigeria, rumour is taken a s news.

Go and check - FIFA is not investigaing the tackle against Neymar. it is all rumour.

Go and check - Onazi did not suffer a fracture. Onazi spoke about it and has no blame for Matuidi. In his very profesional manner, Onazi said it could just be anyone and Mauidi could also have been a victim.

Go and check - Maradona was wrong about the tackle. Onazi had an injury but nothing close to a career threatening injury.

Africa and Asia are alike in their performance. Until you develop a strong local league with strong local participation, you may not win the WC. In addition, your players need to rank high in their clubs.

You cannot go tto the World Cup with players who have not been in competitive sports for months and expect to win.

Nigeria needs to focus on the younger teams and find how to get them the best opportunities.

Our time will come.

GentleMimi: Sick fool .He did not just kill, but actually butchered the man who sired him. Talk of accumulated anger and hatered! Butchered his own father. This is the height of wickedness! Some women cry about barreness. Shey e no better pass pikin wey be devil senior brother?
I know some school of thoughts will comdemn the father's action of hitting his son. But what kind of slap wld warrant murder?
Parents, sending off your wards to religious schools or forcing them to abduct religious belief is not the solution. Some parents see the signs, but ignore it. They depend on their pastors to sort it out for them. Sad.....
How would you know that the father actually slapped him? There is no evidence now that the boy has killed his father. It is abominable and beyond mental illness there is some spiritual problem here. What influenced the boy to react when it was time to pray?

I suggest you try some other approach, possibly going to their office. Trying to de-market a brand on social media can rob that company of important goodwill. Remember that it takes a lot to build reputational capital and anyone in business knows this. Jumia does well 99% of the time and that is good enough. They are humans remember.

I know how you feel being tossed around but please remember that you could be in Jumia's shoes tomorrow. Who would not want to be as successful as them.

I think it is next to impossible for any company to get it right 100% of the time.

Please calm down.

Autos › Re: New Tariff On Importation of Tokunbo Cars Postponed??? by Dee60: 2:14pm On Jul 03, 2014
BizBooks: Well, I guess you can say that. But a more accurate thing to say is that the
Nigerian government is confused. In case you did not notice, every information
I provided on this issue came directly either from an arm of the government or
a registered trade association. Let us recap:

1. The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) categorically insist that no new
car assembled in Nigeria has been certified to be driven on Nigerian road.

2. Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, National Coordinator of Maritime Advocacy and Action
Group (MAAG) confirmed the 6 months extension of the Auto Policy. He praised
President Goodluck Jonathan for “having a listening ear”.

3. The Trade Minister, Olusegun Aganga on his part maintains that the Auto Policy
has gone into effect. He complicated matters further by saying that some car
importers will pay 35% duty while others pay 70%.

This is the hallmark of a confused administration. As you can see, there is obviously
some power tussle going on behind the scene on this issue. What we need now is
somebody in authority (preferably Okonjo-Iweala or GEJ himself) to come out and
tell us the true position. Aganga can no longer be trusted to provide credible
information on this matter. He personally wants the Policy to be implemented
at all cost.
Is Okonjo Iweala still there? It has been a while I heard her comment on anything. I hope she is still getting the support she needs!
Autos › Re: New Tariff On Importation of Tokunbo Cars Postponed??? by Dee60:
texazzpete: We can imagine the effect a fraction of the missing $20bn would do for Nigerians too!

This tariff increment is wrong, immoral and unjust, sold to us by an anti-people Government in thrall of several cabals.

Why is it that when it's a discussion about removing fuel subsidy, the Government is quick to tell us 'market forces will decide and ultimately force the price of fuel down', yet when it comes to autos, the FG has no intention of letting market forces decide?

Cars assembled in Nigeria are supposed to be CHEAPER than new cars coming in, and price competitive with many popular Tokunbo brands that are imported. Yet the Government still wants to punish those who may not want those locally assembled brands or who cannot afford them. You do NOT need any increase in tariffs in tokunbo cars to make the auto policy a success.

As always, it is sad to see how you've been compromised.
The people behind it know what they are doing. They sure know that you do not use tariff sanctions to promote industrialization. Very basic Economics tells you that. FG should be concerned about bringing down the cost of production and to create a liberal environment.

I give you an example. Just take a look at the SON release. You would think that it is crafted by a military dictator. For more than a year that discussions were taking place and investors were being invited SON said nothing. It is only after the President had launched the cars that they remembered that the factories are not SON compliant. And I smell a rat. Would FIAT ever set up a plant, or Nissan, without having ISO compliance in place? Is SON not just after taxing companies? If these taxes are too many would these companies not run away to safer havens? how has that helped industrialization in that case?

Can SON subject itself to any international ISO body for it to be certified? Is SON not turning itself to another revenue generation outfit? Should companies pay 'Customs' dues twice and thrice?

The release by SON shows pure militancy, their approach shows militancy. If truly you want to promote industrialization and growth I think a better approach should be adopted and of course, charges should not be counter-productive.

SON needs to check its own conscience, if it is going after quality or after excessive taxes! Nigeria belongs to all, and we should not embark on gradual deprivation leading to economic suffocation of the citizens.

WE DO NOT TRUST YOU ENYEAMA. SAME AS KESHI AND YOBO. DID SOMEBODY PAY YOU GUYS TO THROW GAMES??

YOU CAN FOOL SOME OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME, BUT NOT ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. CORRUPT, MORALLY BANKRUPT PEOPLE. KESHI, WHY DIDN'T YOU BRING ON UCHEBO AND NWAFOR WHEN THINGS WENT AWRY IN THE SECOND HALF? YOU JUST SAT THERE LIKE A GOAT AS THE FRENCH WOKE UP. WHO PAID YOU TO BE USELESS IN THAT GAME? BASTAR/DS WHO CARE ABOUT ONE THING ONLY - MONEY. YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS ARE STUFFED WITH MILLIONS YET YOU WOULD NOT PLAY FOR YOUR COUNTRY TILL THEY PAID YOU $10,000. HOW MUCH DID FOREIGNERS ALSO PAY YOU TO LOSE THOSE GAMES? WE KNOW YOU WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR MONEY.[/size]
Who paid them to win us the African Cup of nations and to qualify for the WC ahead of other very good African sides? Why make a sweeping statement like 'We do not trust you...". Even on NL, there are more people supporting the idea of honouring the keeper. I think he did a great job! If he retires today, SE will fall flat as we do not have any replacement!
Sports › Re: FG Should Stop Investing In Football? by Dee60: 12:44pm On Jul 01, 2014
It appears that teams from developing nations still do not like to sacrifice for their countries and possibly just play for their pockets. Would anyone still play if the bonuses are not paid? We hardly hear of players protests except with countries like Togo, Ghana, cameroon and sometimes Nigeria!

Coach Keshi spoke about some 'cultural issues'. What are those?

1. Fans failing to understand that sometimes even the better teams can lose in Football.
2. Players forgetting that it is team work and each scrambling to show off for their village people to see and for the next contract.
3. That officials never know where to draw the line. Always acting like they know better than the manager and of course interested in 'pocketing' all the money!
4. That fans should stop blaming referees only when they lose.

Football is a game afterall.

sentix: They should each be paid N50 million naira!
The Lagos state government should be forced to publish an apology in 3 national dailies.
Henceforth parading suspects before trail should be stopped.
Only convicted criminals should be paraded.
Nigeria Police should reinstate, promote to next rank and pay them their salary for 8 years but possible retire them for their own good!
Our Justice system leaves me crying!
If indeed they are knowing now that these men are not guilty then the compensation for locking them up for 8 years must be significant. Justice is about doing right and not just about passing judgements!

What is the price of a barrel of crude and what is the price of a tuber of yam? One is more than 100 dollars and the other is less than 100 naira!
How do you get crude? You drill your pipe into the ground and pull it up. How do you get yam? You plant and wait for months, praying that rats dont even eat them up before you reap!

Nigeria should SAVE all oil money and let us try this farming and see how many new jets you can buy with farming!
