New Creation or Reborn
Ekeh in ancient times is likely a deity that creates. This meaning is preserved in Chineke, the God that creates. I hope others can contribute to this too. Perhaps, there are other meanings I'm not yet privy to.

So how did you get New creation or reborn?

Thanks for your contribution. What's your thought about changing my surname from "Nweke" to "Ekeh"
You said that you want a good name that holds a special meaning for you and your children, right? My question will be does Ekeh hold that special meaning for you?

If you read my writeup very well, I said Nweke means "Nwoke amuri ubochi eke" meaning "A boy born on the eke market day" while literaly (syllabically) it means son of a python. So one is direct meaning while the other is literary meaning. I will appreciate if you can educate me more about the name "Nweke:" origin, deeper meaning and any other information about the name. I look forward to your response sir.
No man born of Igbo blood will interprete Nweke as son of python. Your imagination is playing tricks on you. The literal meaning is still child born on Eke day. It's like saying that Nwafor means child of stomach because afor (market day) sounds like afo(stomach).

Secondly, Azuka is actually Azukaego it means those backing me, my backers or those standing behind me (family/children/friends/supporters/defenders) are stronger/greater than money. Azu in this case symbolizes those backing me.

Ighalo is useless
On the contrary, he is a good player. He the only one that can deal with long balls and hold up play and link up with incoming players while traumatizing defenders. He was our saviour in the qualifiers. We forget too soon. In my opinion he did well when he came in today.

The same Musa we praise today has been called all sorts of names.

Same person whose own PARENTS had no idea they had a grand child for TWO WHOLE YEARS ASIDES THE NINE MONTHS PREGNANCY is the one you say was caring for mother and child? There is something called deductive intelligence. You can deduce intelligently from a part to form a whole.

First it was GEJ, now PMB, men devoid of the emotional intelligence and wisdom to lead the the fumbling giant called Nigeria and its multiplicity of tribes and problems.

Men promoted beyond their level of competence to the detriment of the many, sacrificing the salvation and glory of a people at the altar of tribal politicking and blind opportunism.

May these never cross our paths again.

It's a teaching point, not an attack. We all (humans) have our weaknesses but should strive to work on them and overcome them. It's in our power to do so. That's my point wink

I am impulsive too.

Can't you see a problem with this?

Impulsive : Acting on impulse without thinking.

Allowing only your instinct drive your judgement, decisions and actions without applying conscious thought and sane analysis of consequences is not something humans should be proud of.

It is the nature of animals.

Unlearn it. Learn to think, to breathe and analyze before acting. Before you get yourself or loved ones into a mess.

One solution is see a good therapist. I am one. He will help you deal with the guilt plus the intrusive images and get you to forgive yourself, get closure and start a new life with your husband. You don't have to tell your husband if you don't want to.
FamilyRe: In Response To A Previous Thread Created By Amara Okafor by DeeMain(m):
I want to see my man.

It's not a cry of desperation. It's the cry of a core human need. The need to be and feel loved, to have that sense of connectedness to another. People feel loved in different ways. It was her love language crying out. It was her frustration acting out.

This unmet need was allowed to fester and grow into a sense of insecurity which allowed her own insecurities and weaknesses to come to the surface until something snapped.

She may have her flaws like you said but you sir, have contributed a whole lot to the miasma. You, as the leader, haven't created the right environment for the love you two profess to have for each other to grow.

All the stated flaws, yours and hers, can all be worked on if you two are committed but first the fundamental issue of proximity must first be addressed.

If after all these the conflicts persist then you two should take it as a forewarning of what will follow and bid each other bye. Save yourselves a future heartbreak and wish each other well.

Some corrections:

Ms is now the 21st century way of giving a lady a title without using Miss or Mrs. In essence when it is used you cannot tell if a woman is married or not. It simply says this is a woman. It removes the label of married or single from the description of a woman.

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Poju Oyemade: "How Culture Is Destroying Christianity In Africa" by DeeMain(m):
Many commenters miss his point. This article is Pst Poju joining the current debate in Christendom about tithing, giving, doctrines, grace and the law.

He is saying that there are some places were the older generation of ministers got it wrong and because of our culture of respect and deference to elders the new generation of ministers are afraid to speak up. That the real victim here is the truth as fresh revelations from the younger generation are buried on the altar of respect for the older.

He said that when the younger generation fail to speak the truth God has laid in their hearts that they jeopardize their position in God and also do a disservice to the earlier generation of ministers and that eventually some of them will begin to speak with anger and disrespect (read Freeze and the Free the Sheeple movement).

Bottom line, biblical truth and fresh revelation must be spoken and acted on by the current generation no matter what our culture says but that such speeches and actions should be laced with respect and honour to the preceding generation.

Or tell someone to try and pit hand in your trouser towards into your boxer towards your balls and see the speed you will respond and push away the person

Those are normal reflex actions for people its only when you are aware and conscious of the movement that you take time to respond or not respond at all
You fail to understand the power dynamics at play in this scenario: a powerful, highly respected authority figure who is in a position to influence your life for good or bad can have such an effect on another human as narrated by Chimamanda.

The effect of a power imbalance is hypnotic. It's like a spell. Power can cast a spell on her/his victim's thinking and response and exploit them sexually etc.

Examples of such power imbalance are: authority figures and the people that depend on them for survival or some favours , parents/guardians/trusted older relatives and the kids under their care, leaders in positions of authority/ political leaders and the people they govern, industry leaders (like Weinstein in Hollywood) and the people under them in that industry , employers and employees, spiritual leaders/pastors/imams and their followers etc.

These people have such hypnotic powers over the people under their circle of influence.

We should all condemn such abuse of power wherever we see it. I believe it's what Chimamanda is using her platform to do here.

Until the igbo nation own up to their atrocities that led to the war in the first place, I have no remorse for them.

They instigated the war and committed so many murder in the war. Some of us are not kids and know our history. Crying victim won't cut it for me. They started the war and should bear the consequences.

Nnamdi kanu would have caused another war if not for the wisdom of buhari that quickly kept him in his place. Forget peaceful agitation, those guys mean war. You need to listen to radio biafra in 2015 and see the video where he was soliciting for arms. They cahnged their tune when they couldn't get the needed support to cause major mayhem but the way he was going, he would have caused crisis in the country.

Nobody owes ibos any apology. Nigerians died in the war. Sometimes they even boast of killing more Nigerian soldiers when it suits them to chest beat.

If you don't want the sin of a man to be blamed on the whole tribe, why do you guys blame yoruba for the actions of Awolowo?

Hypocrisy I guess.
I think I captured your thoughts in my post. It shouldn't be the case. I don't advocate for generalizations.

But remember the Igbo nation lost 3 million and survived genocide and therefore feel outraged and betrayed by what instigated the war: that the sins of a few were visited on the many and are, therefore, sometimes irrational or emotional or lashes out left right and centre online to 'hurt' back the others especially when there was no apology, remorse or truth and reconciliation and some are even gloating or threatening a repeat. The Igbo nation's response is what I will expect any traumatized person to do. So I am not surprised. As it is for an individual, so it is for a nation.

I will prefer, though, the Igbo nation heals itself of that war and forgive the others without preconditions in other to fulfill its full potentials. My 2kobo

Those calling for Iheanacho probably didn't see the Poland match. Dude was piss poor in that match.

Not even Mikel can save this team if they continue like this.

I refuse to accept that Uzoho is the best goalkeeper we can find in a nation of nearly 200 million people. He still gets the basics wrong, positioning wise, reflex wise, etc. We should declare a national goalkeeper emergency search.

So if his death on the cross abolished the old covenant and redeemed us, why then are pastors saying that we should pay tithe which is a law under the old covenanthuh
It's an ongoing debate as you may well have read in the social media. My take is that we can pay tithe as a sign of our love for God not as a compulsion or we want to avoid curses. Compulsion and curses were abolished in the new testament. We should only give out of love and cheerfully and willingly.

Shehu didn't play well at all. Leon Balogun was poor.
Generally our defence was uncoordinated especially in the first half. Became better organized in the second.

We played most of the game with defensive midfielders (Ndidi and Joel Obi and later Onazi). No creative midfielder until John Ogu came in with few minutes left.

Ndidi is turning into a very influential player.

Iheanacho had a very poor match. He couldn't hold the ball and cannot resist the press.

We need more creative players in the team. Mikel, Iwobi and Moses won't suffice.

Uzoho had a very shaky first half. Did a lot better in the second. Goalkeeping may be our weakest link in the World Cup.

Let the team play with their mind more with more flair and creativity. I don't like seeing a mechanical team. Too early in the day though. I know they will get better.

Wish them well.

People that follow the old testament practice Judaism.

People that follow the new testament are called Christians. From the name you can decode that they are followers of Christ. The new testament is about Christ.

We follow the new testament bro but you can't understand the new unless you know the old.

If that's true why do you still quote, pray, colect tithe et al with Psalm, Proverbs, Deuteronomy, Malachi, Isaiah?
Reading the old will make you understand the new. You can use the psalms of David and the blessings of the old testament to understand the love of God Christ talks about in the new. You can use the stories of the Ark of God in the old testament to understand what Christ means when he says we are now the temple of God or "Christ in you the hope of glory". We use the stories of the old testament priests to know what it means to be a Priest and King in Christ in the new.

Do you get it now?

Christ fulfilled all the requirements of the law when he finally died on the cross and redeemed us sinners so that we who accept Him can no longer be condemned by the laws, rules and curses of the old testament. It's why we say he paid the price.

All those laws he abolished them and gave us a new law: to love our neighbours as we love ourselves.

Going deeper will confuse you. Hope I've helped you understand.
