mukhcech:Because at 13 she's too babyish to decide if she's kidnapped or not. Her parents and we adults must decide for her. That's how civilized people view all such matters. A child is still a child. I know this runs against the grain of Islam. It's why we have this unending discord. |
Tonye you crossed the line. The problem is not so much about you being Anti-IPOB as it is you being blatantly anti-Igbo. You failed to discern the Igbo psychology and now you have to pay for it. When you attack the Igbo the way you did you are exorcising the ghost of the 3 million killed. Blood speaks and the living is it's mouth piece. The backlash is as unpredictable as it is uncannily explosive. The same thing happened with the Oba Akiolu debacle. At the back of all Israeli actions and inactions is the Holocaust. It is the same for the Igbo nation. It's the 3 million dead. Fighting the Igbo on the scores you did is fighting 3 million spirits. It's a formidable unearthly opposition. Worse, you roped the Ijaw into your shenanigan and created a whole armada of enemies for your beloved land, by yourself alone. As a politician, when you go all out like that it means you must have counted the cost. Bottomline, you are not stable yet immature. We've been watching you a long time. If I were to advice my friends on your matter I'll warn them to steer clear you. Period. |
janellemonae:Your post was open to different interpretations. You could have been sarcastic on me. Mixed messages are the writer's fault. The 'who?' was ambiguous. ******* Knowing now you intended no harm, I apologize for my not so subtle attack. |
janellemonae:Are you smoking something? Can't you read? Where did I go wrong? By asking that a false and misleading thread be pulled down? Gerrarahia abeg. |
Can't the mods pull this thread down?? Is it too difficult for people to realize from the screenshots that the hunters and dogs parable were from a fan and NOT from Jude as stated by the OP? |

Thanks man for removing the veil from my eyes. Smh. |
franchizy:I'm repulsed by this statement of yours. You may not support them nor support Biafra, which is okay by me, as the Igbo nation is a repulican one and people are free to hold different opinions on issues but how dare you endorse the killing of your own innocent brothers for peacefully protesting their freedom? Since when did engaging in a peaceful protest become punishable by death? You say this shit when others are condemning the murder of innocent Zakzaky Shiite followers and the killing of innocent blacks by white police in the US? Have you lost your soul? Are you confused of your roots? Don't you know your history? Where you not thought? Tufiakwa! Retrace your steps sam sam nwanne. Onye aghana nwanne ya. |
Hi Rhemaa, I am a Therapist and I can help her. She is suffering from trauma. Her body remembers the horrible events of that day subconsciously. She will treat every sexual advance as if rape is about to happen. Sex and rape have become linked in her mind. A Therapist needs to work on breaking the power of the traumatic event over her and also deal with her skewed perception of intimacy and sex. She should be okay in a few sessions. There are newer, more effective techniques for these things. I stay in Lagos. Contact me if you need us to talk more. |
I support the Prof on this. A hate speech targetting an entire tribe is condemnable. At the same time a solution to the Fulani herdsmen issue should be implemented. And justice dispensed. *** This story and the comments here make me think about old and recent issues. Many of those who support Prof Chidi's position on this are still the ones who claim Igbos (an entire tribe) planned the 1966 coup to dominate the rest of the country. A coup planned by few soldiers (4 Igbos and a Yoruba). That coup is this 'celebrated' as an "Igbo coup." A tag pregnant with meaning. Till today, when we say apologize to the Igbos for the pogrom and the 3 million killed in the war, they say No. The Igbos caused it and deserved what they got. Today, Fulani herdsmen are on rampage and the mantra by the same people is "Don't use the sins of a few to paint a whole race bad or punish them." Where is our sense of justice? Smh. And they wonder why people like Nnamdi Kanu is getting massive following. We have very wrong foundations in this country. We'd better fix it now before it's too late. Happy Independence Day Nigeria! |
DedeNkem:Reprehen- what? No sir, her grammar is good enough. She spoke informally, casually and she nailed it. My submission. Mznaett, young girl think about your life, your future, your destiny, your purpose. In a little while, you may be making the same mistake Esau made - sacrificing your destiny and purpose for some fleeting pleasure. You are already moving with the wrong crowd and exhibiting some habits that may push u to the point of no return. Retrace, retrace, retrace your steps now before ... Two words too much for the wise. |
Sir, the problem was not really the brains you employed but you. You, and the late Yaradua, had no business accepting Obasanjo's greek gift of running this country. You were not ready. You did not have the capacity nor the vision nor a plan. ... and it showed big time. Sir, a leader casts his shadow on his nation/organization no matter the people around him. The Nigeria you left behind was a reflection of you, Mr Jonathan. Morals, values, character, vision, charisma, truth, integrity, all wanting... May your likes never taste power again. |
qintus:You are guilty of the same generalization I accused the guy of. There are many Igbos all over Nigeria, all over the world. The best you can say is that there is a Biafra movement with a large following ongoing and that the Igbo consciousness is on the upswing. I don't like generaliztions it distorts the reality, the truth. Bye. |
LastProphet:Ibos? So Oby Ezekwesili is Hausa? Doyin Okupe who was attacking her for speaking up against an irresponsible government is Igbo? Abeg, use your tongue to count your teeth. |
I hope Oliseh has outgrown his temper. His playing days were sometimes punctuated with temper leaks on and off the field. Just saying. |
Abagworo:One love bro. The kite and the eagle should both perch. I'm out. |
Abagworo:Ok, good point about the authography. But the rate at which Ikwerre changed Igbo names after the war lends credence to my fears. There is nothing like uniqueness. Abiriba , Onicha, some Aro and many others in Igbo land are believed to have migrated from somewhere into Igboland. That does not make them less Igbo than anyone else. Where are u from? |
mcvaeey:Read the above. Akalaka a Benin man gave birth to Iwhnurọhna = both the name of the father and his son are Igbo names and yet he's from Benin. See also: Iwhnurọhna Ihruọha Impressed at the ingenuity at bastardizing and creatively mispelling Igbo names. See gymnastics. Quite astounding. Also, "Iwhnurọhna, in Ikwere parlance, means the face of the community (town, city or village)." Iwhnurọhna = Ihruọha = Iruoha = Iroha = face of the community (town, city or village or public or public face in Igbo. Wow. So tomorrow someone can say my name is not debola, it's dhebolar and insist on its accuracy. Anyway, no comment. Failure is an orphan. Success has many fathers. Focus on yourself. Build your house well. If u do, others will identify with you. They will even beg you for citizenship. US is a case in point. O gwu m, n'onu. |
@OP where is the source? Who is the girl to you? What a story! If this story is true, it's a sorry world. She that has ears let her hear! |
Do you even understand what trauma is? Trauma is a shock or wound to the system: to our psychology, body, biology or our soul. If a male/female child who has been designed by God not to experience sex till adulthood, gets abused, their body and psychology experiences a devastating shock/trauma whether they are consciously aware of it or not. The child's mind path is corrupted or made dysfunctional for life except there is quality intervention along the way. Violence does not necessarily mean physical. There's something called psychological violence. Rape, forced or unforced bielongs to this scheme. Rape is evil. Rape is gaining the most intimate of accesses into another's body and soul without their permission. A child's conscious mind is not developed enough to give this permission. A child cannot give permisson. A male/female child by definition is thus raped by any sexual encounter. Even some raped girl- children 'enjoy' the sex and even beg for more from their adult rapists. Does that make the rapist less culpable or the crime less than rape or her life less destroyed? A child may not be able to tell a right from a wrong, an evil from a good- it's the nature of a child. Rape victims, male or female, are often traumatized for life and exhibit strange, self- or others-destructive or self-sabotaging behaviours as adults to cope with life. That, my friend, is called trauma. craziebone: |
TRUTHTOPOWER:Lol. Your provisional like accepted. |
TRUTHTOPOWER:I gave you a hesitant 'like' for this because I'm interested in looters and evil men going to jail. I have the same disdain and bias against them as I have for terrorists and Boko Haram. They are the cause of terrorism and kidnappings and the underdevelopment in this country. Loot the commonwealth, return the money and go to jail. Loot small change, return the money with a caution to go home and sin no more. |
Brugo:So you can't point to your disclaimer again? I chose you particularly out of the legion because you were the most arrogant of the lot. Next time you see a topic on rape you'll be nicer and speak with more balance. The major culprit is the rapist. Chase him away first, jail him, rebuke him 1st on the thread. Get mad at him. He has no defence. It's why they are thrown mercilessly in jail easily in other climes. Then you can creatively and sensitively talk about steps to avoiding rape to the womenfolk. Not the patriachal and mean, it's-your-fault-for- being-raped hogwash being peddled by you and your ilk. |
EggovinMma:Thanks dear. The level of support (covert and overt) for rape on this thread is frightening. We all need to speak out and educate our menfolk and the women on this scourge. Smh. |
Brugo: Brugo:This is an example of your beautiful nonsense, the warped logic you displayed ubiquitously all over this thread. You call this a disclaimer?? My friend, once a woman says NO, it does not mattter what has happened prior or if she was half naked or led you on or kissed you first or was responding initially, STOP!!! The property you are trying to access is hers. She has a right to tell you to stop whenever she deems fit. You are NOT an ANIMAL. You are a man, with a body that has been given a brain to control the body. Know who you are. Use the damn brain well! Not knowing that you can control your behaviour or your body or your response, no matter the cause, is a terrible type of ignorance. I'll leave you with this quote: In other living things, ignorance of themselves is nature, in man it's a vice - Boethius |
Brugo:You just have head knowledge without wisdom and Emotional Intelligence. Blatantly displaying your ignorance publicly and without compunction is the hallmark of a fool. There is something called boundary and territory. A woman's (or man's) body belongs to her completely, moreso her privates. She is the owner. Landlady. The moment she says NO, stop! (ADDENDUM:The moment you rape her, you have forcefully taken what does not belong to you. You have robbed her in the most intimate and wicked way possible. You have violated her life). Lack of self-control or restraint is a punishable weakness. Many in developed countries are languishing in jail because of the warped intelligence you are unashamedly exhibiting here. Many have died or have been harmed for raping a girl as relatives come for revenge. Rape is mental and psychological trauma. Rape is evil. Many girls are maimed for life. Many re-experience the torture forever. Your entire argument on this thread is what we call Beautiful Nonsense. Pray for sense pls. |
Beremx:Berem, you are smart, you are intelligent, but sometimes when you make certain statements about your tribe, you come short. Little wonder, the vast majority of Igbos here don't like u. The above statement u made here is not true. I would understand if someone from another tribe made it but not u, a nwa ada. For the sake of arguments, even if the statement were true, u know why many would deny being Igbo during and after the war: if u were Deltan and Igbo during the war, it meant certain death or threats to your life or excommunication or deprivation or mockery or jeering or hate of some kind from non-Igbos or from government. Why don't u balance your views with such insights. That's what an objective, detribalized Igbo would do. Unless of course, u hate your tribe, which I don't believe u do. Biko, were ire gi guo eze gi onu. Wepu aka enwe n'ofe ka o hapu igho aka mmadu. |
The guy is broken. He's been through some trauma in life: childhood or later in his life. You are not a therapist. You can't fix him. Run for your life now. If you don't, this relationship will kill you. A stressful relationship leads to stressed emotions, which causes dis-ease in the body, which eventually leads to a disease, which might eventually kill. Run. If you feel powerless to run, get a therapist yourself. Save yourself now. You are intelligent and have got potentials, use that brain to save your own life now. Count what counts! |
safarigirl:Words have syncopation, colour, emotions, tone, meaning and experience. A wise man once said, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Some of us can detect the prevailing emotional state and architecture of a speaker or a writer by studying their words. Anyway, a matter for another day. I don't like excuses. It smacks of victimhood and helplessness. You can choose how you respond to life. If you want to grow in life, quit excuses. That's a real strength there. Yes, and there's nothing wrong with defending women. Just do it right. |
safarigirl:Was digging your beautiful reasoning till I read this. You can't elevate your argument about respecting the Nigerian woman by bringing down women elsewhere. You are helping the men you are attacking reinforce their points about women. You just committed the same offence you were criticizing. And ditch the gutter language and the anger(yes, it shows)-you are more beautiful than that. |
jojotemitopaz:The history is a different thing. Men who did not understand the bible did bad things. The bible then was meant for only a top few. Now, Christians have bibles and know what's in their bible. My response earlier was based on what is contained in the bible and what the bible says about Christianity and what Christianity preaches today, which was being mischaracterized here. Had to put the record straight. |
Reiyvinn:Christians mean Christ-like. That's New Testament stuff. Slap me and I turn the other cheek teaching. The killings and fights u see in the bible are based on Judaism which is old testament. Christians read the old to help them understand the new. So, don't get it twisted. Unconditional Love is the prime teaching of Christ. |
