Look, you cant just blatantly ignore what is written there and claim love covers all. 2. As for the lies, the fact that you mention voodoo already makes me tired. It was a lie, and even the Republican Governor of Ohio confirmed that it was a lie. You cant just say well you know of such a practice in voodoo therefore that accusation was true. What a vague watery defense. This kind of defense convinces me that there is no point discussing Trump's many lies with you as I already know. Of course you will go silent on the fantastic lie on white genocide in SA as you know how indefensible that one is coupled with its racist overtone - especially in light of his immigration stance. There is no point with you. If the man says your parents are baboons, you will find a way to say its a harmless superlative and not racist at all. |

Kukutente23: @gidgiddy First of all you need to know that when Kanu failed to put up a defence, he summarily accepted whatever the prosecution accused him of. Silence means approval is a legal principle as old as time. So you can't blame the judge here. The blame should be to Kanu who chose to make himself a Martyr by forgoing his defence. That's the point I've been expecting zombies to make since yesterday on a thread where I asked what constituted am act of terrorism but they've been attacking me instead. Mvnster even said I'm ipob
Secondly and more importantly, while what you say might not be an act, it is an incitement which is almost at same level as an act except where you can show that the context of your speech is being misconstrued. In the case of Kanu, calling for an attack on agents of state such as the police and army constitutes an act of terrorism. More importantly, he failed to put up a defence to the accusations which I already explained above is an admission of guilt. Even AU and UN charters and conventions frown on verbal attacks and dehumanisation of people based on their tribes and nationality. Kanu did this a lot without guardrails. Maybe he did not intend for it to get this far but it did and he has to bear responsibility for it. As for calling for Biafra, I'm sure you don't need to be educated that it's simply treason as far as Nigerian laws are concerned. + Generally fair, stubborn aburo, just just a few notes. 1. There is known to law something such as a "no-case submission." In other words one can actually say that the prosecution (or plaintiff in a civil case) has set up no case that needs to be defended. This I suspect is what he was trying to say. Highly ill-advised since there was a case to be defended. 2. What he did was not just incitement. In some cases he gave out instructions to his followers to take certain acts. That is akin to someone hiring a hitman or ordering a hit when in a position to do so. In such a case, you have as good as done the act yourself. 3. Calling for Biafra is not a crime. International Charters actually recognize that right, it is the right of all peoples to self determination. The simple thing would be to do it legally - i.e: seek an amendment to the constitution to permit a referendum on such, etc. All this can be pursued legally. |

His opponents are primarily intent on tearing down the society so that they can remake it in their own utopia. Noone is perfect. The liberals in my opinion are just plainly evil. + Trump is plainly evil. There is a lot that I dont like about liberal stances - particularly things like transgenderism especially when it is taken to absurd heights such as saying that children can choose to change their sex, saying that there are over a hundred sexes and not two, allowing men to compete in female sports, and the like. All of these are moral and ethical abominations. But for sheer evil, sheer corruption, sheer manipulation of the worst kind, sheer racism of the most abominable kind, you have to look to someone who says "they are poisoning our blood" - a direct quote from the Nazis and something derived from the Alhambra Decree in medieval Spain. Racism at Trump's level is a sickness, a cancer and the hypocrisy of an anti-immigration person who himself is the child of immigrants and married to immigrants is laughable. |

Be specific. Which death I'd not substanted?
The early church decided on the number of books to incorporate, the existence of other books does not negate what in the gospel. I would think other writings would be more corrupted than what the disciples wrote. Convince me what they saw and wrote about was a hoax. You could be believing the Islamic version of crucifixion Surah An-Nisa 4:157-158 "And because of their saying: 'We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger' - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain. Rather, Allah raised him up to Himself. And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise". . + Well let's not go too far, this is after all an American Politics thread. But: 1. I think it is you who need to prove the manner of death of each apostle. 2. I have told you no one knows who wrote the gospels. They were attributed to the apostles. basilico: So far so good . How fo you explain the cruel deaths of the disciples of Jesus. Distances relative from Jerusalem.
Peter was crucified upside down in Rome, approximately 1,400 miles from Jerusalem. Andrew was crucified on an X-shaped cross in Patras, Greece, approximately 950 miles from Jerusalem. James, son of Zebedee was beheaded by sword in Jerusalem, within 1 mile of the city center. John died of old age in Ephesus (modern-day Turkey), after surviving being boiled in oil in Rome, approximately 750 miles from Jerusalem to Ephesus. Philip was crucified in Hierapolis (modern-day Turkey), approximately 700 miles from Jerusalem. Bartholomew was flayed alive and beheaded in Armenia or India, roughly 1,000 to 2,500+ miles from Jerusalem depending on the tradition. Matthew was killed by a sword wound in Ethiopia, approximately 2,200 miles from Jerusalem. Thomas was stabbed with a spear in Mylapore, India, approximately 3,000 miles from Jerusalem. James, son of Alphaeus was stoned and clubbed to death in Jerusalem, within 1 mile of the city center. Jude Thaddeus was killed with an axe or arrows in Persia (modern-day Iran), approximately 1,100 miles from Jerusalem. Simon the Zealot was killed alongside Jude in Persia (modern-day Iran), approximately 1,100 miles from Jerusalem. Judas Iscariot died by suicide (hanging) near Jerusalem, within a few miles of the city. Matthias (Judas' replacement) was stoned and beheaded in Jerusalem or Ethiopia, depending on the tradition.
They all refused to renounce what they witnessed with their own eyes. They wrote a good part of the New Testament with no contradiction whatsoever about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. You can see how far away from. Jerusalem the mission to spread the teachings of Jesus took them. 1. I hope you know that the legends about the deaths of the apostles are mostly unsubstantiated. 2. Many people use their conviction as evidence of the truth of the resurrection. I cannot do the same. We have seen even in the last half century adherents of cults who have been willing to die and even committed mass suicide for their belief in their cult masters. 3. The writers of the gospels are actually unknown - the gospels are merely ascribed to those apostles. 4. There are actually scores of gospels in existence. The canonical four were merely those selected by the Church for inclusion. There are many wild contradictions in the others, such as in those of Thomas, Judas, Mary and many many others. |

ono: Or the Puritans of the time of Thomas Cromwell.
Anyways, let me share a passage of the scriptures that I read today. I will wait for your vitriol on this one, so I can laugh at you with glee.
Numbers 31:1-24
They fought against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses, and killed every man. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder. They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps. They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals, and brought the captives, spoils and plunder to Moses and Eleazar the priest and the Israelite assembly at their camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho. Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp.
Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who returned from the battle.“Have you allowed all the women to live?” he asked them. “They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lord’s people. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man".
Anyone who has killed someone or touched someone who was killed must stay outside the camp seven days. On the third and seventh days you must purify yourselves and your captives. + It is absurd to credit the Puritans with civilization or industrialization. Indeed they were a very backward thinking people who subscribed to many myths and lived by absurd restrictions and regulations. |

basilico: The left is on a mission to control the society. It's totalitarian and brooks no criticism at all. Their war on Christianity is waged from every possible attack angle. A country that's majority christian has no time for things like lbgtq promotion , they tolerate them though unlike the Muslims who hoist them up on cranes or throw them out of tall buildings. Such countries don't allow trans men to compete as women. The left haa to overturn what was once considered normal . Strangely and I've asked here with no answer. Why is it that Devil worshippera believe in Satan but not in God, both being spiritual beings? + Satanists believe in the existence of God but prefer the Satanic principle which is founded on the idea that knowledge liberates (ref: Garden of Eden - "God knows that in the day that you eat the fruit, you shall become as God, knowing good and evil" , and also the idea that one should be absolutely free to do as one wishes in pursuit of pleasure, wealth power, lust and anything one desires. |

basilico: -
Without questioning whether you worship s stone or a cow, do you believe a certain Jew by the name Jesus existed and was crucified? Just that. Did Jesus exist + I honestly don't know if a man called Jesus of Nazareth existed. The historicity of Jesus is a complex academic matter. However let me say a few brief things. 1. The non-scriptural references to him are painfully few - one or two references in Josephus stand out, and even there, it is argued that such were deliberate insertions by the Church/ establishment at a later point in order to establish the historical Jesus. There are references to Christ by Tacitus, Pliny the Younger and Suetonius - that of Tacitus stands out as well, but those of the other two do nothing to establish a historical Jesus but refer mainly to the existence of the early church and their worship of Christ. 2. There were several people during that same period who claimed to be the messiah and went about with some following and appeared to be said to do some wonders of some kind. 3. I would wager that a man called Jesus of Nazareth did exist, but that the legend and myth about him have been compounded as an agglomeration of several true and false stories and stories about the lives of a group of men rather than one man, and all of these have been bundled into the legend of one Jesus Christ. I also wager that there was significant Roman influence in molding what was said to be his teaching, such that it would suit Roman purposes. 4. To the extent that the fundamental teaching of the resultant Jesus is said to be love, brotherhood and forgiveness, I see it as a high and noble teaching. 5. However I do not believe in myths such as the virgin birth (a widespread myth which was applied to many gods and demi gods of the old world from Greece to Rome to Egypt to India), and neither do I believe that Jesus was God, the special son of God, or that his death on any cross was a propitiatory sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins - something which would be barbaric and amount to endorsement of ritual human sacrifice. |

ono: I get that. Okay let me rephrase my question. Which one is a suitable god - if one exists in your “reality” based on what you unloaded earlier?
You’re free to say there’s none and thus remove all doubt that you’re an atheist. + The truth is that God is unknowable, as IT completely transcends our reality. We can no more know or understand God than an amoeba in a water puddle in the Amazon Forest can hope to know of, or understand the existence of multiverses. In our attempts to give meaning to our existence we have created ideas of gods - many of them absolute abominations and monstrosities, such as Yahweh and Allah. If God exists, IT may very well be a neutral impersonal existential force at the root of all reality. I am agnostic, not atheistic. |
