Christianity Etc › Re: AI Is Better At Being The Living Word Of God Than The Bible & Koran by DeepSight(m): 10:59am On May 12 |
chieveboy: Before we proceed further, we must come to make an effort at putting some flesh to the term "Living word of God" or just "Word of God".
If you want to make sense even in human terms, anything Living has one characteristic: It evolves.
Since God made everything, this characteristic is evident in all of its creation where nothing ever remains the same, and not the same thing is told everyone for ever and ever even as in the case of Moses, Adam, Jesus, Enoch, etc if we are to go with the two referenced/religions above.
So if an intelligent being we would call 'God' is to issue out a (living) word to a Moses today, they would definitely not go back to the the word issued 2,000 years ago. The message will cut through to present events and circumstances.
It will not be wildly unrelated and require the interesting Israelification that must occur for the message to be made relevant at all cost.
A living word/God will meet you in your identity because it made provisions for you or it knows and acknowledges you in the present tense/state, not an after-thought copy and patch kind of setting. What are you driving at. Speak, I bid you, I conjure you. |

I'll revisit where the mother daughter couple are today in a few months. Courts have rules. Do you know the rules? Please just go and sit down. The truth is that so long as Trump doesn't win, you will complain. This is why I cant take you and your ilk seriously. There simply is nothing that can be against Trump for you. The very fact that ALL courts threw his claims out including Republican appointed judges, is enough to show you that he had absolutely no case. For heavens sake his own Attorney General Bill Barr said there was no fraud. Will you remember his recorded phone call asking the secretary of state in Georgia to rig him an extra eleven thousand votes? Nope. You will forget that one. Objective indeed. But for you, when the man is in power, and he appoints those who are all his yes men, and the DOJ that is supposed to be independent starts repeating all his personal delusions, thats what is credible.
How is that a standard? ? ? Pathetic. |

Family › Re: Children Are Not Automatic Blessings, Parenting Still Matters by DeepSight(m): 6:46am On May 12 |
Kalatium: Children Are Not Automatic Blessings, Parenting Still Matters.
One dangerous mindset many Nigerians still carry is this belief that once children are born, everything will somehow work itself out.
As if children automatically become successful simply because they came into the world.
No.
Children are not crops you abandon and expect harvest from.
You cannot pour negligence, chaos, absence, bad habits, and irresponsibility into a child for 20 years and suddenly expect excellence to come out.
You will not always get your desired result.
Most times, you get your deserved result.
Years ago, Nigerian communities played a stronger role in raising children. Neighbours corrected children. Teachers were feared. Extended families intervened. Communities sometimes carried children whose parents failed them.
Today, society has changed.
The burden has shifted heavily back to the parents.
Modern life is more complex, more distracting, and more dangerous than before.
Now, if you are absent mentally and emotionally from your child’s life, society may not save them for you.
That is why parenting today requires intentionality.
You must be intentional about: ✔️ Education ✔️ Discipline ✔️ Values ✔️ Friendships ✔️ Internet exposure ✔️ Skills and talents ✔️ Emotional development ✔️ Career direction
Children do not raise themselves.
And God will not come down physically to monitor your child’s homework, friendships, online activities, or moral development for you.
Parents must do that work.
I remember a neighbour years ago in Enugu.
Every morning, this man’s routine was the same: Wake up. Sit at a nearby shop. Drink heavily. Smoke. Argue loudly over football and meaningless topics from morning till evening.
Meanwhile, his daughters stayed at home for long periods without school during critical stages of their lives.
Yet deep down, he probably still expected those children to magically become successful adults.
But life rarely works that way.
Children absorb environments before they absorb advice.
Many parents underestimate this.
Your habits are raising your children too.
Your discipline. Your irresponsibility. Your addictions. Your emotional instability. Your priorities.
Children are watching everything.
Another uncomfortable truth many people avoid discussing is the effect of family structure.
A stable home with present, supportive, responsible parents often gives children a stronger emotional and psychological foundation than chaotic homes filled with instability, neglect, or absence.
That does not mean every child from a broken home will fail.
But pretending family structure has no effect at all is dishonest.
The environment a child grows up in shapes confidence, relationships, emotional regulation, and worldview.
This is why parenting is more than just feeding children.
A child can wear good clothes and still grow up emotionally abandoned.
Too many parents today are busy chasing survival and business opportunities while completely outsourcing parenting to schools, phones, social media, and strangers.
Then years later they ask: “What went wrong?”
The painful truth is this:
If today’s society fully raises your children for you, there is a high chance you may not like the final outcome.
Because the internet has values. The streets have values. Peers have values. Social media influencers have values.
If parents do not intentionally shape children, something else will.
And not everything shaping children today wants the best for them.
Children are blessings, yes.
But blessings still require cultivation, structure, sacrifice, correction, presence, and wisdom.
A seed is a blessing too.
But leave it unattended, and weeds will grow around it.
What do you think, Nairalanders? Good write up. For me, people dont question enough if and why they should have children at all. |

The cases about Trump only came up after he joined politics. The DOJ releases are FBI records where Jane Does ( I believe setup by Hillary and Co) made complaints that were entered into record, then leaked selectively . Anything Cris Wray FBI and Merrick Garland DOJ released about Trump is to me highly suspect.

iyke484real: Good evening fellow Nairalanders.
Something happened today that has really made me question myself as a man, and I sincerely need honest advice from mature minds here.
Earlier today, my younger one went to the field to play football. After some time, he came back home crying seriously with blood rushing from his head. According to him, he had an altercation with someone much bigger than him, and the person picked up a stick and hit him on the head.
Immediately, I became angry and asked him to take me to the field to identify the person that injured him. Deep down, I was expecting myself to react aggressively because I felt any normal man would naturally defend his younger one and confront the person strongly.
When we got there and I saw the guy, something happened to me. Instead of fighting or causing a serious scene, I just started asking questions about what happened. I couldn’t bring myself to react violently or aggressively the way many people probably would have. I eventually carried my younger one and went back home.
Since then, I have been feeling ashamed and disappointed in myself.
The painful part is that this is not the first time I have noticed this about myself. I always seem to avoid problems, confrontations, or situations that may escalate. Even when I am angry, I still start thinking about consequences, expenses, police issues, public embarrassment, injuries, and other complications that may arise if things get out of hand.
Because of this, I often withdraw instead of standing my ground fully.
Now I am beginning to feel like I am too timid and not confrontational enough as a man should be. Sometimes I feel weak, powerless, and unable to command respect the way other men do. I see some people react boldly in difficult situations while I keep overthinking consequences and avoiding escalation.
Honestly, it is affecting the way I see myself.
Please, I need sincere advice from experienced people here:
- How can someone stop being too timid or fearful? - How do you become more confident and confrontational when necessary? - How do you stand your ground as a man without always retreating? - Is this kind of behavior weakness, or is there another way to look at it? - What practical things can I start doing to become mentally stronger and more assertive?
I would genuinely appreciate honest advice, especially from men who may have struggled with similar issues before overcoming them. Make a police case of this. Do not fail to do so. In future, don't back down especially in the face of a bloody assault on one you love. Even if you don't fight, make a legal case and make it strongly. Don't let them rest. |

cococandy: Beautiful summary. Nothing else to add.
God forbid we shit on the community that made it possible for us to get to the USA as immigrants. Black people did all that. They opened the doors for immigrants. Black people fought for post-war African American soldiers to get included in veteran’s rights and benefits. Africans benefitted as a side effect of this fight.
Because of them, African-American and by extension African military families have been able to get the rewards that they worked and sacrificed for. Things that were and would have continually been denied to us if we pretended racism didn’t exist.
Because of them, African Americans and African military families have bought and sold several homes without having to jump through the hell the average person does. Got degrees without loans because of their fight for African American inclusion in VA benefits. They did all that because they chose to not turn a blind eye and let racists exclude them .
I’m pretty sure if they were fighting for those things today, these trolls on this page would call them activists and liberal snowflakes like it’s a slur or something.I despise snotty and disingenuous people. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2026/may/8/white-house-official-monica-crowley-promises-bombshell-2020-election/
Ambassador Monica Crowley, the U.S. government’s chief of protocol, said the administration will “soon” produce evidence that proves President Trump won the 2020 election.
Ms. Crowley, speaking Wednesday at an event hosted by Breitbart News, didn’t reveal more about the evidence but expressed confidence in what it would show.
“He did win in a landslide, and we will soon be able to give evidence about that,” she said.
That matches comments by other high officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel, who have talked about evidence of a conspiracy to subvert the 2020 vote, which made President Joseph R. Biden the victor over Mr. Trump’s vehement objections
I'll be following and updating this story
https://thefederalist.com/2026/05/11/fulton-county-fights-federal-subpoena-for-records-about-botched-2020-election/
Fulton county whose 600,000 ballots were seized by FBI got a new subpoena ... It seeks names, positions/functions, residential addresses, email addresses, and personal telephone numbers for essentially the entire 2020 Fulton election workforce.
They are fighting against this new one , requested by a prosecutor outside of Georgia. Most likely a Florida prosecutor.
This is no laughing matter. It has been established that Obama, Hillary, Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Strzok etc conjured up the Russia hoax ,then conspired to remove him via Mueller and sham impeachment 1. Logically it follows, they took him out through the 2020 fraudulent elections after which they sought to silence, jail, bankrupt and murder him to cover up the original sin. Media played a huge role in the scandal.

LordReed: I thought we had a discussion where I numerated some of what we would class as the characteristics of artificial life. Lemme see if I can find it. Here - https://www.nairaland.com/8532287/rambling-talk-deepsightBudaatum was involved. As an aside, I first tried to use Gemini to find this and here's what it said about us - I thought that interesting! The debate you’re looking for likely occurred within a broader discussion on materialism, atheism, or the nature of the soul, which are frequent topics for LordReed (who typically holds a materialist/atheist perspective) and Deepsight (who often argues from a deist/spiritualist position) on Nairaland.
While a single thread titled "Can a machine be conscious?" may not be the primary landing spot, their most extensive interactions on this specific subject usually appear in these high-traffic threads:
1. "The Argument From Consciousness" In many threads within the Religion or Science/Technology sections, Deepsight often challenges the materialist view by arguing that consciousness is non-material and therefore cannot be "assembled" via hardware. LordReed typically counters that consciousness is an emergent property of biological "wetware," implying that sufficiently complex artificial hardware could theoretically achieve the same.
2. "The Hard Problem Of Consciousness" This is a recurring theme where the two users have traded long-form arguments. Deepsight often uses the "Chinese Room" type of logic to argue that a machine only simulates understanding, whereas LordReed focuses on the lack of evidence for any "extra-physical" component to the human mind.
The debates between Deepsight and LordReed on Nairaland represent one of the forum's most enduring intellectual rivalries, often serving as a "Clash of the Titans" between two distinct philosophical worldviews: Deism/Rationalism and Atheism/Materialism. Here is a comparison of their debating styles, philosophical foundations, and the "intellectual signatures" they bring to the platform. ________________________________________ 1. Philosophical Foundations
Worldview Deepsight: Deist / Transcendentalist. Believes in a necessary "First Cause" or "Infinite Intelligence." LordReed: Atheist / Materialist. Maintains that the physical universe is all there is, governed by natural laws.
Consciousness Deepsight: Argues it is non-material and cannot be reduced to biological or mechanical parts. LordReed: Argues it is an emergent property of biological processes (the "wetware" of the brain).
Logic Source Deepsight: Relies heavily on Metaphysics and abstract reasoning (e.g., the Law of Cause and Effect). LordReed: Relies on Empiricism and the Scientific Method; if it can't be measured, it’s speculative. ________________________________________ 2. Debating Style and Rhetoric Deepsight: The Classical Orator • Tone: Highly formal, often poetic, and occasionally aggressive in a "high-brow" manner. He uses expansive vocabulary and long-form essays. • • Tactics: He prefers Socratic questioning and building "logical traps" based on definitions. He often accuses his opponents of "intellectual dishonesty" if they don't follow his deductive leaps. • • The "Vibe": Intellectualist and philosophical. He views the universe as a grand, purposeful design that can be understood through pure thought.
LordReed: The Pragmatic Skeptic • Tone: Concise, dry, and clinical. He often uses short, "pithy" responses to dismantle complex arguments.
• Tactics: He focuses on the Burden of Proof. He rarely makes positive claims about the unknown, instead asking his opponent to provide verifiable evidence for theirs. He is famous for the "Where is the evidence?" pivot.
• The "Vibe": Grounded and skeptical. He views the universe as a series of observable phenomena that require no supernatural explanation. ________________________________________ 3. Key Points of Friction
The "spark" in their debates usually occurs at these three junctions:
• The "Origin" Problem: Deepsight argues that "something cannot come from nothing," necessitating a Creator. LordReed typically counters that we simply "don't know" yet, and "I don't know" is a more honest answer than "God did it." • • The Nature of Intelligence: Deepsight views human intelligence as a "spark" of the divine or the infinite. LordReed views it as a survival adaptation—highly complex, but ultimately mechanical. • • Objective vs. Subjective Morality: Deepsight often looks for an objective moral anchor; LordReed argues that morality is a social construct evolved for tribal cohesion. ________________________________________ 4. Summary of the Rivalry
In the Nairaland ecosystem, Deepsight acts as the "Philosopher-King," defending the idea that there is more to life than meets the eye through rigorous (though often abstract) logic. LordReed acts as the "Chief Inquisitor" of the religious and spiritual, using the razor of Occam’s Law to trim away any claims that aren't backed by data. While they rarely—if ever—reach a consensus, their debates are highly regarded for their civility (relative to the rest of the forum) and the depth of the subject matter.
