Incredible but wait.
Who is defining what sin is?

There's nothing like sin, what there is, is that which doesn't serve our highest interest.
And yet again every religion strongly believe theirs is the only way to God.
Separatism breeds Chaos.
God's wish is for us to come to this understanding that you and I are one, that we are not separate but one, whatsoever I do, should be in best thought of us.
Well said. I think the last line hints at a moral standard though.

You cannot understand a God who will not act as humans would, you are lost.

You believe life exists as a test, a trial, a period of putting you through your paces to see if you are "worthy."

But if you believe that life exists as an opportunity, a process through which you discover— remember—that you are worthy, then it seems insane.

You believe God is an ego-filled God who requires attention, adoration, appreciation, and affection—and will punish or kill if he doesn't get it.

But if you believe that God is without ego or need, but the source of all things, and the seat of all wisdom and love, then your theologies fall apart.

You believe that God is a vengeful God, jealous in His love and wrathful in His anger.

But if you believe God is a peaceful God, joyous in Her love and passionate in Her ecstasy then you belief falls apart.

The purpose of life is not to please God. The purpose of life is to know, and to recreate, Who You Are. In so doing you do please God, and glorify Her as well.
Profound, incisive, brilliant at once and also poetic.

Two questions strike me here and please oblige me -

1. What informs your reference to God in the feminine. I notice you repeatedly refer to It as a "Her" - and specifically with a capital "H". . . Years ago I had some sort of deep trance in which I came upon a recognition that the first vibration of all existence was a feminine vibration. However, as I mentioned above, I have since become very agnostic on the subject of God - whilst I still believe It is there - as the Source - I do believe it is too remote and absolutely unknowable. I therefore personally refer to It as "It" rather than "Him" or "Her". . .

2. Please can you share your background in terms of philosophy and what writings, if any, have influenced your current take on the meaning of life. Also if you belong to any group or spiritual/ philosophical persuasion.

I'm talking thousands of years. From Atlantis, Egypt, All civilizations BC, and after.
In terms of the existence of souls, I would stretch that further - we are probably talking not just zillions of years - but such an unquantifiable stretch of time that is beyond the capacity of the mortal mind to grasp.

This is with the proviso though, that time is not an illusion - and it just very well might be. Indeed, almost certainly is.

Yes, life is about creating, experiencing. Life isn't come, do and go forever. We chose our family, our country even our complexion. If you understand that as spirit we don't die, that as spirit we are part of God, you will see that our life is forever and all this Nigeria talk wouldn't matter. At the end, you'd go to another place for another experience. No spirit is young, what is young is our bodies. Residue of our past life's we see in form of dreams.

Do you know that your family, those you have around you as friends too, you all have met in different life times? I need not say more. Understand that nothing is ever an accident.

Most of the New Testament writers never met or saw Jesus in their lives. They lived many years after Jesus left the Earth. They wouldn’t have known Jesus of Nazareth if they walked into him on the street. But. The Bible writers were great believers and great historians. They took the stories which had been passed down to them and to their friends by others—elders—from elder to elder, until finally a written record was made.

And not everything of the Bible authors was included in the final document.

Already "churches” had sprung up around the teachings of Jesus—and, as happens whenever and wherever people gather in groups around a powerful idea, there were certain individuals within these churches, or enclaves, who determined what parts of the Jesus Story were going to be told—and how. This process of selecting and editing continued throughout the gathering, writing, and publishing of the gospels, and the Bible.

Even several centuries after the original scriptures were committed to writing, a High Council of the Church determined yet one more time which doctrines and truths were to be included in the then-official Bible—and which would be "unhealthy” or "premature” to reveal to the masses.
Bang on point, thank you for stating the truth here.

Evil, bad are all perspective.

There is no coincidence, and nothing happens "by accident.” Each event and adventure is called to your Self by your Self in order that you might create and experience Who You Really Are.

God is in the sadness and the laughter, in the bitter and the sweet. There is a divine purpose behind everything—and therefore a divine presence in everything.

Although, we have been raised to believe that good and bad do exist; that right and wrong are opposed; that some things are not okay, not alright, not acceptable in the sight of God. But, I tell you everything is "acceptable” in the sight of God, for how can God not accept that which is? To reject a thing is to deny that it exists. To say that it is not okay is to say that it is not a part
of God—and that is impossible..

Our ideas about right and wrong are just that—ideas. They are the thoughts which form the shape and create the substance of Who we Are. There would be only one reason to change any of these; only one purpose in making an alteration: if you are not happy with Who you Are.

If your values serve you, hold to them. Argue for them. Fight to defend them.

Finally, nothing happens without God. If God isn't there it means God is limited.
Once I saw this post, i recognized at once that someone with a more profound grasp of life than usual was speaking. This was heart warming, for it is rare to see, within the dross and dim spectrum of light available in most of the world today. So thank you.

However as you have caught my interest, pardon me as I will have a few questions. I'll start with what you have hinted at up there - namely - moral relativism/ subjectivity. Let me say straight away that I totally "get" moral subjectivity - and moral relativism (both are very close precepts but not quite the same). Nevertheless when pressed on this subject I have mostly found myself standing with objective moral values. Indeed, years ago, i have had marathon debates on this forum on this subject. In those discussions, I dont think I truly let my real position on to my co-discussants - because in my view they had taken far too extreme and therefore far too absurd a position in favour of moral subjectivism/ moral relativism such that if one were to abide with their propositions, it would never be possible to condemn any deed in this world - no matter how grisly, how abominable, how disgusting or how evidently, manifestly and patently against the flow of life and nature such a deed was.

This extremity is what led me to argue objective moral standards in opposition and my question to you is therefore - to what extent would you push the moral subjectivism / moral relativism evident in your post. Do you also espouse it to such a degree that it becomes impossible to ever say of any deed - "this was clearly wrong or evil" - thereby taking us into a blurry moral existence which frankly if ever given legal credence to - would result not just in anarchy but probably even the expedited extinction of our species.

That is my question.

However because of the enlightenment with which you have spoken, and the poetry evident in your pen (which is a weakness for me) I will share with you ahead that I am not a strict moral objectivist in truth, regardless of how ardently I argued that position in the past. I am not a religious person - I subscribe to no religion - for most of my time of this forum I was known as a deist (and suspect I introduced Deism here) - today I would prefer to say that I am agnostic - whilst I believe in the existence of a source, I believe it is beyond remote and thus unknowable. On the question of morality, I believe in certain secular objective moral standards - with the proviso that every moral action has a context and a situation - which must be taken into account. Something I would perhaps call situational or contextual morality.

What say ye, good sir?

@DeepSight

Thanks for your question. I remember we once discussed this issue, and I can share my perception again which remains the same. Usually I would have answered without much ado, but recent experiences have deepened my perception and hence I much proceed carefully in order to avoid being misunderstood or leading ourselves astray. I must have you, first define what you mean by race. The word race today is one of the most ambiguous words; it could mean so many things, from nationality, ethnicity, skin color, to culture. Hence when we talk about race, one could be talking about one thing, while the other is talking about another.

Let me know what you mean by race before I continue. While I await your reply, I can only say this: Love and harmony should be the basses for all marriages. Wherever either of the two is lacking, there the peace which is very important for spiritual unfolding can hardly be maintained. Hence, not only love should be considered but harmony too; harmony all the way from spiritual qualities(personal qualities) to physical characteristics.

For spiritual harmony, the two individuals do not necessarily have to have the same qualities(or virtues) or characters, their characters only have to be complimentary. Since man and woman are split species, they can only embody spiritual qualities in parts which need to unite in their working for harmony to arise. And these parts (qualities or characters) often appear as opposites hence people observed that "opposites attract." A woman, for example who has the gift of gab (has a way with words and likes to talk a lot) will find harmony with a man who likes to listen, and not one necessarily one who also like to talk a lot. However this law of opposites is only true in regards to split species found in creation. Above creation we find beings that carry whole, not split species.

For physical/earthly harmony, two people from very different environments or culture may find it difficult to achieve harmony. Two people from very distant and non-complimentary culture may find it difficult achieve a healthy marriage. You must have heard the term, 'Culture shocks' experienced by people who travel to a cultural environment different from their own. Sometimes cultural differences can be so unsettling and a source of annoyance, making the much needed peace impossible to arise.

As you already know, that which is spiritual carries the most weight in creation. Hence, being complimentary spiritually is more important than being complimentary at the physical level. However, as long as we are wearing physical bodies and are still on earth, one must take the physical also into consideration too. Otherwise the disturbance/annoyance stemming from physical disharmony can make peace impossible which will then hinder spiritual development.

Thanks and remain blessed.
By race I refer to human races as distinguished by physical appearance primarily skin color. So Caucasians, Negroids,Arabs, Indians, Oriental, etc.

LordAdam16:
I'll indulge you. The premise on which the article was written is deeply flawed. I see it a lot amongst millennial far-left leaning writers even in more prestigious publications and it's infuriating.

The premise of that article is akin to saying that since the developed world can afford to send billions of dollars in aids to developing nations, then it means everyone on the entire planet can be fed. It is not just asinine, it is downright stupid.

Both men are economic overachievers. The rough nine million French people below the poverty line, and I say this compassionately, are economic underachievers. No one ever says because some people have an IQ of 130+, then everyone should be able to solve algebra.

Eliminating poverty as well as providing universal healthcare, affordable housing, and proper education to everyone is a noble goal. But the only reason we've even gotten to a point where only 13% of the French population is below the poverty line, which by the way are among the top 25% of the world's 8 billion, is because of the economy. It used to be much much worse in the past.

And as with anything in all of nature, there'd be those who overachieve and those who underachieve. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. France has a national budget of 1.2 trillion euros per annum. That excludes the budget of lower levels of government. France's welfare program cost 500b euros annually. Yet it's Bernard's $90b or Pinault's $30b (note total wealth, not annual) that somehow rubs the writer and like minded ilks the wrong way.

The world's 2000-odd billionaires have about $9t, if you took all of it and shared it leaving them penniless. It'd cover the annual budget of only the top 2 countries by budget size. What money would you guys share then for the next year and for people in the other 180+ countries? Would you confiscate the wealth of the millionaires next?

The financial illiteracy is appalling. The smartest way you guys can seem to think of to solve any problem is to take money that's never enough from someone else. China has 250+ billionaires, more than 4 million millionaires. They and the government have raised over 500 million people out of poverty within 30 years (poverty rate fell from 88% to 7%) and GDP per capita in the same time has gone from $350 to $8800, a 25x increase.

Yet, in spite of this amazing transformation, the heading of an op-ed that ranks high on Google for poverty in China from a so-called progressive writers has the following title: "Despite China's Fast-Growing Wealth, Millions Still Remain Poor."

Whoever reads that headline would not imagine this is a country that took 500 million people out of poverty. You always have to focus on the those who are currently poor by pitting them against the minority who create all the jobs. When people ask why the rich act like they don't give a sh*t about the poor, this is why. And for all the issues I have with unabated income inequality currently running in tandem with rising cost of commodities while wages largely remain static, I simply wouldn't subscribe to emotionally-charged viewpoints that sound like they were conjured by toddlers in kindergarten.

He has more than myself. Therefore, I must take. And maybe you guys weren't told this when you were young, taking what's not yours is stealing.

-Lord
Thank you. I think your riposte is brilliant and I am tempted to ask what your professional calling is. You write, think and analyze well.

Having said that, I'm afraid you left me hanging on the question of the co relation of the article with our old debate on this thread. You didnt see a worthwhile co-relation in any respect whatsoever?

And one more thing: it seems to me the writer specifically disclaimed the sort of sentiments you are attributing to him.

Wondering what you want to talk about it.

That said, I think it is morally wrong the way it was first envisioned since amongst the earliest eugenicists like Francis Galton, Mary Sanger etc felt blacks were of inferior stock mentally and physically (though particularly mentally) with respect to whites. That said, if by eugenics you mean breeding humans for improvement in some trait like speed or strength I don't think it is wrong depending on how and why one does so the context matters. I would argue BTW that passive eugenics has occurred where humans marrying and breeding on their own plus evolving to a particular environment has made them express certain traits more.

So West Africans genetically have more fast-twitch muscle fibres that give an edge for surviving wild animals in our jungle while part of Kenyans and Ethiopians have long legs, slim bodies thatgives them an edge in marathon races though it was adapted to the raised plains near the Rift valley that runs in East Africa.
Thank you Uyi. Quite a while. How have you been. You must be old now. How are you preparing for your up coming 50th birthday.
