Delivar: Even if you feel women are "sexually disciplined" in nature does it actually make it bad if a woman is not disciplined? If a woman is not "disciplined" it still shouldn't be a reason why she should be condemned. A woman should also have the same privilege as a man to have as multiple partners as she wants. 100% agree. |

donnie: Yes, there are men who take pride in that. Ask your dad. Please be so kind as to leave my late father out of this conversation. However, I didn't suggest that they "should", like you insinuate. Noted. As far as her husband is concerned, YES. As long as she refuses to take her place in that marriage, her beauty evaporates. The man sees her like another man. I can only repeat that your perception of the meaning of beauty is terrifyingly limited. And in that regard I can only feel sorry for you: for with such a mindset as this much will remain closed to you. Only a man who has already been subdued will accept that. I am tempted to ask where you grew up? It isn't sissy to support equal rights for women in society, generally speaking. So why did you say that? But in the home, the man is the head; they're not authority sharers. Who made this rule and is it binding on everyone in the world? |

GidiWoodsMan: The male animal is testosterone-driven, territorial and polygamous by nature. He breaks new grounds, spreads his seed everywhere he can and then does his best to fend for them. It's the law of creation.
On the other hand, a woman who jumps from one dīck to the other hand is guaranteed to raise eyebrows because how does she establish the provenance of her offspring? How would she cater for them in a world biased in favour of male-privilege? By turning professional and humping thousands of dīcks? Ashawo work adds zero economic value to the society but these whöres will never learn. . . . Please this is gibberish. We live in a relatively enlightened and modern world (by some degree) and there is no reason to label promiscuous women "whores" while labeling the promiscuity of men "the law of creation" and actually defending same as proper and in order. One thing you need to recognize is that things were only skewed in favour of men because in times gone past, physical brawn was required to survive. That is why it was a man's world and men got to set the standards in favour of their whims and caprices. Today, what is required to survive is more intellectual and this has leveled the playing field. Your argument is therefore archaic. We just deceive ourselves that its more natural for men to sleep around. That is not true. Any person really experienced in life will tell you that women have just as great a sexual impulse as men do - in many instances even a greater one. Women have a very natural impulse to sleep around and this too is actually nothing but nature at work. Might I also add that attraction to powerful men is also nature at work - the same thing happens in the jungle. If your wife leaves you for a more powerful man, she is not being a "wh.ore" - that is nothing but nature at work. |

donnie: This socalled feminism is killing society. I must agree that certain misguided approaches to new and evangelical feminism may indeed be a societal problem. And to think that Christian women are buying into this rubbish is even more sad. I suppose this is a fair statement as Christianity along with all the Abrahamic religions is clearly chauvinistic. The God who made women weaker physically, Yes, generally weaker in terms of brawn more emotionally driven Well, again, mostly but not all the time. There are very emotional men out there. and petty in their thinking knew very much what he was doing. Now here is trouble. Not sure it is fair to allege that women are generally petty in their thinking. Although I can to an extent say that I know the sorts of things that may prompt one to allege this, but men are equally petty in many ways. Secondly did you just allege that such pettiness is the handiwork of God? No real woman will take pride in having several husbands. Are there men who should take pride in having several wives? Her pride is actually in taking her place behind her husband. This is an archaic and unsophisticated point of view. Quite silly if you ask me. That's where her true beauty lies. To try to change it is to deceive yourself. True beauty lies only in submission? You have a very limited take on the profound word "beauty". That's why we have many single women today claiming feminists and an increasing number of sissies calling themselves men (thinking they're being romantic). How is it sissy for a man to support equal social rights for women? |

rinrin23: Yes, but only to an adventurous soul. Earthlife is not for the fainthearted lol. Indeed it is not. And perhaps not for those who are sensitive to such noble ideas as justice too? When I think of my death, I see myself surrounded by friends and family that I love, while I reminisce (with a smile on my face) about the full life that I have lived. What is your conception of the afterlife - and as a corollary, what to you regard as the purpose of life? If the soul can commit to coming into this journey and truly experiencing all the different spectrums (the highs and lows) of earthlife in their incarnation, in order to evolve. Then yes I will recommend it. Do you think this evolution is required. Can you share your thoughts on the natire of whatever entity it may be that caused such things as souls to exist at all, and dictated such an experience as Earthlife? In addition: If I am directly involved in grooming the soul, then without a doubt, yes. I look out for certain qualities and values in a life partner (future father of my children) Do you mean this in the sense - "if you are to be a parent of the soul on Earth." Do you know, regardless of the best intentions life is terribly unpredictable. Having regard to some of the very worst experiences of humans on Earth (don't let me cite any, just use your imagination) do you really think there is any possible justification for the conditions that are visited upon souls on Earth? because I want to be directly involved in making the change that I want to see in the world. This is noble. |

In a few short paragraphs, or otherwise as briefly as you may - can you describe Earthlife to a soul who is yet to be born. Describe the world as you see it - and life on Earth as you perceive it, generally giving the best advise you can to such a soul - on the assumption that such a soul knows nothing whatsoever about Earth or life in this world.
PS: Atheistic strict materialists, back off - this thread is not intended for disputations as to whether souls exist at all.

HigherEd: And we would have the international community intervene. The international community may tolerate a rigged election as they have done for many African elections. But once the INEC declares Atiku the victor and Buhari refuces to concede then it would be the beginning of a series of sh**t ton of calamity befalling Nigeria.
1) At the least International sanctions would definitely kick in. The sanctions would range from Political to Economic and would definitely plunge Nigeria into a recession.
2) Exiling Atiku to a safer neighbouring country would be the priority of the International community - He may be Sworn-In another country. - If Atiku escapes Nigeria alive it would be mega problem for Buhari because he(Atiku) would be recognised by the Intl community. This would make any invasion of Nigeria a very likely option.
3) A military intervention would be considered - ECOWAS would take a back seat because of Nigeria's relatively large army. If all goes well at United Nations Security Council and US secures a unanimous vote for intervention then an intense aerial and naval incursion would occur. The US/NATO alliance would decimate Nigeria's naval, aerial and ground forces within five working days. At this point Buhari may give up and hand over or waith for the enforcers to reach his door step - The ability of the US white house intervening will largely be determined by the outcome of the Next US midterm, if republicans hold both houses of congress then the White house may get a mandate to intervene in a future Nigerian crisis.
If US fails to get an approval from UNSC or US congress to interveñe then sanctions remain, economy would remain down and Nigeria may fall into a civil war... If PMB doesnt concede the heat will reach pressure cooker levels and he will be compelled to go. . . However forget the prospect of a military intervention in Nigeria. Nigeria is too muscular for that, its simply not possible. And its not because of our armed forces. We are too muscular overall. |

There neednt necessarily be a co relation between religion and politics especially if you live in a society which has divorced both through centuries of war, blood and sweat. Study history. If you live in a society where this has not been done, then there remains a co relation. Now, speaking more specifically to the point - whilst that co relation may or may not exist, there will always be a co relation between one's past deeds and one's future fortunes. End of. |
Christianity Etc › Re: You Are A Spirit That Lives In A Body by DeepSight(m): 1:46pm On Sep 16, 2018 |
Vocnewsblog: Man is essentially a tripartite being. He is a Spirit, that lives in a physical body, and he has a soul. The real you is your spirit, and not your mortal frame. Unfortunately, many of us are awfully ignorant of this fundamental truth about our real human nature
The Bible reveals that man was made in the image and likeness of God. The term “man” is a generic term for humanity. It means man and womb-man (woman), as well.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26).
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24).
God is a Spirit. Grab hold of that. This means all human beings are first and foremost spirits, not bodies. On the inside of every living human body there is a human spirit. That is the real person, the one created in the image of God.
“But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” (Job 32: . . It is through the spirit of man that God communicates with him or her. God does not communicate with humans through their souls because He does not live in the soulical realm. God does not communicate with humans through their bodies because He does not live in the physical realm. God is a Spirit and He lives in the spirit realm. This is why He communicates with humans through their human spirits.
The soul of man is actually the mind of man. The soul is comprised of the mind, the will, the intellect and the emotions. The human soul is where the human being acquires knowledge. It is a storage and operational area for information, learning, logic, and reason…It is kind of like a hard drive on a computer only it is alive.
Now we come to the body of man. The body is a dwelling place and a vehicle of expression for the human spirit. The spirit actually gives animation to the body. The body is NOT the real person. The SPIRIT is the real person. However, in order for the spirit to live in the Earth realm it must be contained within a human body. I call the human body my earth suit. You have to have an earth suit to live in the earth realm. As soon as an earth suit fails, a human spirit immediately departs for one of two places that does not require one – Heaven or Hell.
Now, beyond the above elucidation on the triune nature of man, it is imperative to state here, that your life is driven by two contending dynamics: the gratification of the desires of your ‘spirit’ or the appeasement of the cravings of your ‘ body’. Fulfillment or a purposeful life, therefore, is only attained when your life aligns with the yearnings of the spirits in the inside of you. Hence, a person is said to be ‘spiritual’ when he totally submits to the control of his spirit being, and he is ‘carnal’ when the lust of the flesh dominates his existence.
Let me quickly add here, that being ‘spiritual’ has nothing to do with the religion you profess. Spirituality is not also a ‘mystical practice’ as portrayed by some religion.it is simply an act of obedience to the ‘voice of good’ in the inside of you. This ‘voice of good’ is popularly called your ‘conscience’, ‘your moral compass’, that nudges you to good deeds. It pricks you each time you deviate from the path of morality. Your conscience judges every of your action, and constantly guides you toward godliness.
Spirituality, therefore, is the gateway to godliness, not religiosity. When your life is totally controlled by the ‘spirit’, you express God anywhere you go and this qualifies you to become an authentic child of God. Romans 8:16 captures this truth: “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God”
Again, your godliness is not a function of your religious affiliation. It is simply an expression of the ‘God’ in you, in your daily relationship with others. The good you do to others, is the only definition of godliness that I know! Please, do not be deceived by any religion and their complicated vain doctrines. You do not need religion to access God, or to live a godly life. Listen to the ‘voice of good’ in the inside of you- that is God guiding you along the path of rectitude. The more you acquiesce to the leading of your spirit the more godly or fulfilled your life becomes.
Have you ever wondered why Africa is backward and under developed, in spite of our pervasive religiosity, and the developed countries that are not religious, are building better societies? The answer is simple: those developed countries have strong moral value system that engenders a ‘godly society’ where the government is compassionate to the needs of every of her citizens, especially the weak, the poor and the vulnerable. And their godly leaders constantly strive to provide for the common good,
I have had cause to challenge many of my Christian folks, who are ‘tongue speaking, holy ghost filled and bible quoting’, that an average white man, who does not even go to church like them, are godlier. While the white man is looking for an opportunity to help someone in need, my Christian brother would rather carry a big bible to meet a man who is hungry, in name of ‘evangeism’, copiously quote the scriptures, and tell him to ‘give his life to Christ’. And when he is done with his ‘ministration’ he goes his way, with the pious feeling that he has done the ‘work of God’ Rubbish! Arrant nonsense. This is the wickedness towards humanity that has created an ungodly religious society that we find ourselves today. Help me tell my evangelist brother that: “Even the Christ you preach about, remember, he fed five thousand people during His earthly ministry”. Why not do the same, if you are truly his disciple?
Bill Gate is not a christian ( he is even an atheist), but he has spent over $28 billion of his net worth on charity, to support the cause of humanity. He has invested millions of dollars alone in Nigeria to support the fight against polio. His philanthropy is impacting the world. This act of nobility is godliness at its peak. Let me even shock you, God is more glorified by the life of Bill Gate, than the miserable life of your religious leaders, who collect money from the poor to build schools, and the children of the same poor people cannot attend thse schools. Many of you religious folks will be shocked to see ‘sinners’ in heaven on that day.
The reality of the life that we live today, especially most of us in Africa, is that, we are not conscious of the essential ‘spirit nature’ of our being. This is attributed largely to the negative influence of religious falsehood that has over the years, configured our lives and society. This is really tragic! Many of us are so consumed by the vain pursuit of carnality, at the expense of spiritual actualization, so much so, that the only thing that matters in our lives is the ‘god’ called ‘money’.
Apostle Paul warns in Romans 8:6-10: “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness”
Finally, my beloved, Let me leave you with this piece of advice: be careful about your desperate quest to satiate the cravings of your flesh. The lust of the flesh is unappeasable! You know exactly what I am talking about. The more you have, the more you want to acquire. Tame your flesh or else, it will destroy you. “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death”- Proverb 14:12 Albert Schweitzer, once said, “The purpose of life is to serve, to show compassion, and the will to help other”
I rest my case!

Whereas I do not disagree with any of your points, I will, however, say that by the use of the word ' emasculated' , I did not mean forceful emasculation at all. No, not at all. Forceful emasculation would also mean forceful emasculation of free thought, an anathema to progress .
Rather, by emasculation of religion, I meant the gradual and steady devolution of the powers of the religious orders, the slow and steady encroachment of scientific curiosity, and the steady consensus adoption of scientific rationalism as a much more reliable arbiter of reality and existence. This is the emasculation of superstitions, and with it,religious superstitions and thought. That is better. How you dey boss? |

plaetton: As you can see from a brief glimpse of history, the more the religious order is Emasculated, the freer , the more peaceful, the more progressive a society becomes. That's not my opinion. That's simple history. I don't think this is entirely accurate in terms of history. Certain societies have repressed religion and that very act has been a symptom of a generally repressive state - and as such in those instances it would be wrong to state that the emasculation of a religious order led to a "freer" state. Notable examples include Russia, Nazi Germany and China. On the other hand religions despite their colorful and many times dark history have actually on occasion been a positive agent for change - as may be said with the motivating factors for many of the prime movers against the slave trade for example - they were deeply religious people. This is not to take away the dark aspects of religions and certainly not to deny the fact that religious texts were also used to justify slavery. |

Primesky: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee Please lets be clear. When the bold quoted occurs and leads to pregnancy, what other conclusion can be reached other than the fact that some sort of divine insemination or the other has taken place? The truth is that the story is rather laughable - and it is certainly curious that people take it seriously. One thing you need to know from the standpoint of the history of religion is that the virgin birth myth is not unique to Christianity. It is littered all over the ancient world as many supposedly divine children were alleged to have some sort of magical birth or the other. Therefore it is not particularly surprising that this myth was imported into Christianity. It is also not the only widespread pagan myth to be imported into Christianity. The Trinity is another example and indeed there are many others. Below are just a few of several virgin/ miracle birth myths from around the world - Kabir
In 1440,[62] the poet Kabir was also said to have been born of a virgin widow (a Hindu), through the palm of her hand. Like Karna, Kabir was sent down the river in a basket; he was found and adopted by a family of Muslim weavers, downstream.[63][64] This (presumably posthumous) account—which depicts Kabir as secretly descended from Hindus—was intended to legitimise Kabir's religious authority in the eyes of the Hindu population who venerated his works. This story is absent from Muslim and Sikh accounts of Kabir's work.
Other traditions Aztec mythology Huitzilopochtli
The myth of Huitzilopochtli is uniquely Aztec. Huitzilopochtli is therefore considered to be the cult god or the patron god of the Aztec. As a solar deity, Huitzilopochtli is closely related to and overlaps with Tonatiuh. Huitzilopochtli’s mother was Coatlicue, or She of the Serpent Skirt. Coatlicue, known for her devout nature and virtuous qualities, was at Mount Coatepec or Coatepetl ("Serpent Hill"; near Tula, Hidalgo) one day, sweeping and tending to her penance, when she discovered a bundle of feathers on the ground. She decided to save them and placed them in her bosom. Without her realizing, the feathers impregnated her.[65][66][67]
Quetzalcoatl
There are several stories about the birth of Quetzalcoatl. In the first story, Quetzalcoatl was born by a virgin named Chimalman, to whom the god Ometeotl appeared in a dream.[68] In another story, the virgin Chimalman conceived Quetzalcoatl by swallowing an emerald.[69] A third story narrates that Chimalman was hit in the womb by an arrow bolted by Mixcoatl and nine months later she gave birth to Quetzalcoatl.[70][not in citation given (See discussion.)] A fourth story narrates that Quetzalcoatl was born from Coatlicue, who already had four hundred children who formed the stars of the Milky Way.[71]
Mongolian mythology
According to a legend narrated by The Secret History of the Mongols, a Mongol woman named Alan Gua had a son, named Bodonchar, some years after her husband has died. She claimed a radiant yellow person visited her at night and impregnated her. She believed the visitor was the god Tengri. Bodonchar became the founder of the Borjigin tribe and a direct ancestor of Genghis Khan.[72] Japanese mythology
Miraculous births are common in Japanese folklore, and include Momotarō the Peach Boy (who was found inside a giant peach floating on a river), Kintarō (about whom several origin myths are told), and Kaguya-hime (who was born inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant). Native American mythology
The Great Peacemaker, sometimes referred to as Deganawida or Dekanawida (Iroquois) was born a Huron, and by some accounts, his mother was a virgin, so the birth was miraculous.[73] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miraculous_births#HuitzilopochtliAside from the cases cited above there are literally hundreds of claims of magical and virgin births in antiquity, claims of divinity and the like. One therefore should not be surprised that such myths filtered into Christian teaching. |
