Romance › Re: Please Write An Open Letter To Your Ex by DeepSight(m): 9:04pm On Sep 01, 2009
Deep Soul:
Dear EX 1,

You took my innocence. It wasnt enough. You wanted ALL of me. It wasnt love. It was obsession. I ran. You pursued me.
You were mentally unstable. You jumped my fence at 3am and came to my window begging. You belong in a psych ward.
I dont know where you are and frankly, I do not care. Whatever life offers you, good or bad, doesnt mean nada to me.

Dear EX 2,
I met you. I had found The One. When I was with you, it was bliss. We shared a bond or so I thought. You got the best of me. You lied. You cheated.
But with you I stayed. I never uttered a word of complaint. I was an angel. After two years of an LDR, I decided to step. Not because you lied nor cheated. Not because we "grew apart". Not because of the distance, but because you were just too frugal. Stinginess was your first name. It amazes me how it took me more than three years to realise I couldnt be with a STINGY man. I didnt do it for me. No, I could never be as selfish as you are. I did if for my unborn children. Cos they would never have forgiven me for giving them such a FRUGAL father! Tufiakwa! But friends we will remain. We smile and chat. But you will never know the real reason why I cant be with you. I pity the woman you will eventually marry.

Dear almost EX 3,
I could have been typing the most venemous letter to you if we hadnt decided to work things out a month ago. I met you and you showed me what it meant to be loved. Very few people on earth have been privileged to experience the kind of love you showed me, With you everyday was valentine. You showered me with gifts. You took me shopping. You served me breakfast in bed. You jumped even before I sneezed. You were my idea of perfection. You changed my life in a way no other human has. And after almost two years of bliss, you wake up and you are someone else. A mad man. Without any sense of right or wrong. You inflict unimaginable pain on me. And for four months, I went thru pain untellable. Every attempt to salvage the situation proved abortive. I have not been the perfect woman but I try. I never cheated on you, even with the long distance. I even started learning how to cook because of you. Funny huh? I was in the wilderness for four months. And the only thing that saved me and my sanity was God. I would have nightmares consecutively and wake up shaking. And the only thing that could stop the shaking was my Bible. Everytime I wanted to leave, I remembered how you stayed with my in the toilet at 3am rubbing my back when I had diarrhoea. I thank God He has started the healing process on our relationship that seemed irredeemable. It's been one month of recovery already and it's been hard as hell. I wonder if we can make it. You have done so much to hurt me. Unprintable things. But I still remain wwith you and agree to make it work. I hope we survive this. If you mess up again or hurt me the way you did, even I do not know what I will do to you

Phew!
A writer too. . . interesting

Remember. . . No Fire can burn much longer without some fuel. . .
Romance › Re: Gf Material Vs Wife Material~ Guys Talk by DeepSight(m): 8:59pm On Sep 01, 2009
Deep Soul:
There's absolutely nothing like "wife material" nor "gf material"! Wtf?!

Every woman at some point or the other exhibits certain xteristics that can only be temporary.

Using myself as an example, there was a time when the kitchen was a no-go-area for me.

I could cook alright but I just was not interested in doing so.

If I'd met a guy at that point who needed a wife material, Im sure Id have bn ruled out?

There were a lot of girls I knew who were more "kitchenly" than me but that didnt in any way mean they had better chances of being a better wife?

We base our thots on husband/wife materal on a lot of trivial things really.

Eg a woman who loves to cook etc.

I know some1 whose wife is a fantastic cook! She can blow you away!

But guess what? There's no peace in their home. Always fighting. Even in the midst of all the plenty food, lol.

Summarily, "material" is relative! The major material shd be love. Every other thing will follow
Right on. . . if i want a cook i'll hire one. . . wife should be hot, sophisticated, intelligent, ambitious, deadly and even a little vain,

1) Ban Production

2) Build psychiatric hospitals to admit smokers into

3) Give out scholarships in Psychiatry and Psychology to interested candidates.

Smoking is just plain sick. I still havent been able to get a hang of it.

Ban the freaking thing and any1 caught with "contraband" shd b sent to jail.

I was indifferent about smokers and smoking. That was before I fell in love with a smoker. And that was b4 my best frnd started smoking  sad
Easy now, why so judgmental, you cant be Mother Theresa you know. People are different. To each his own.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pre-Marital Sex Is Not Fornication by DeepSight(m): 4:08pm On Aug 31, 2009
africhika:
sex is more than a physical action. it's a spiritual union. why would you want to be spiritually connected with someone other than your SPOUSEhuh

that's why many many married men/women still are still attached to the 1st person they had sex with b4 they were married. they formed a spiritual bond with that person and it brings trouble into the marriage.

sex is about 2 spirits uniting in a God-blessed union. why waste time creating such a strong bond with your boyfriend or girlfriend? wait and create that bond with your spouse. wink
Really? And pigs fly.

Of course sex is a purely physical affair. Spirits dont have genitals, much less testestorone and oestrogen, the sexual hormones.

If you want to commune spiritually with somebody, form a mental and spiritual bond by associating, interacting and sharing passions. Love, and be involved in that person's life spiritually. You hardly need to see that persons genitals to form a spiritual bond. If that's the case none of us can have a spiritual bond with God, since its impossible to have sex with him!

Get real! Sex is a physical act designed by nature for the specific purpose of ensuring the survival and propagation of the species.

If sex is a spiritual act, do you think a spiritual bond is formed in cases of rape? ? ?

Let's look at the life of some one like Mahatma Ghandi - i suppose the Christian Fanatics will dare suggest he will burn in Hell for not being Christian, notwithstanding the fact that Ghandi was probably one of the purest human souls to have walked the earth.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Grail Message by DeepSight(m): 12:13pm On Aug 30, 2009
@ just cool, m nwankwo;

I have read the message a number of times. I must say it is easily the clearest and most incisive work of spiritual truth in history.

I derived strong insights from it.

I was in fact going to become a cross bearer, but one thing has held me back: the authour's claim about his personal identity. You know what i'm talking about. I neednt state it here as it may confuse other seekers. Can you clarify why anybody should believe stupendous claims about personal identity? The jewish carpenter made some claims i fear are rather presumptuous. I was raptured with the grail message until i read near the end his claims about his personal identity.

The likes of guru maharaji and olumba olumba obu make outrageous claims about their personal identities. That never impresses me.

@ Prizm, reading your write ups is better than having sex. Super stuff. I have a suspicion, pls confirm: you are a Cross Bearer, yes?

@ Tudor: i see the debate seems to have out raced you such that you are now constricted to asking defensive questions only. By the way it does not matter how many universes exist, the premises for a prime mover of all things in existence would remain the same. If as we say God has always been, i imagine that there are probably zillions of universes in existence.

Maybe the word "God" is what you have a problem with. think "first mover" or "uncaused cause"

Does thnat help?

I think personal conscience and inner growth are the keys.

@ poster, you are a very silly person.

Why dont you go and live in saudi arabia and become a muslim, i can assure you all the women there are covered from head to toe, just the way you want - like prisoners.

By the way go research african culture, you will see that historically it favours scant dressing.

You are just a coward who cannot cope with feminine sexuality.

i hope mazaje's story (Be it real or imagined) will help christiam fanatics see that the world is too big anmd diverse for everybody to subscribe to one religion.

Of course there are millions of people who have lived and died without ever hearing of the jewish carpenter. Its really silly to imagine that they are all damned as a result. If that were true, certainly all our forefathers are in hell. Not to talk about the billions of red indians, asians, etc who have lived and died within their own culture, not ever hearing of the jewish magician.

Learn! Only the state of your inner being is important!

Nice one mazeje.

Also what about the billions who have lived and died without ever hearing of the existence of a jewish carpenter called jesus. Are they all damedhuhhuh??
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists: Empirical Reasoning For The Existence Of God by DeepSight(op): 6:36pm On Aug 29, 2009
yes, something is actually the default: the something thats the ultimate cause as defined above
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists: Empirical Reasoning For The Existence Of God by DeepSight(op): 6:16pm On Aug 29, 2009
Huxley,

The answers to your question are embedded and implicit in my previous posts.

1. What is nothing? Nothing is zero.

2. What is something? Something is any quantity other than the zero quantity.

3. Observably, the universe is something, since it contains matter, and creatures.

4. Since we understand that for anything top exist, there must be a cause, we can see clearly that the universe had a cause. We cannot speak of an endless regression of causes, because that would mean that there is no cause for all that exists, and this is impossible because of the law of cause and effect. Accordingly, we can only see that there must perforce be an ultimate cause: a cause that is itself its own cause, that is in and of itself and that accordingly needs no external cause.

5. It may seem difficult to conceive such a thing but hang on a second. Is it not true, for example, that the idea "1" exists in itself and that even if the universe were to implode, it would still exist. It needs no cause to exist, and cannot be created. It is what it is, observed or unobserved. These are thus elements of the ultimate cause: an idea that cannot not exist, an idea which simply is, thereby permitting everything else to exist.

6. Given the fact that intelligent beings exist (e.g: humans) we can see based on the law of replicatiom (think dna) that the ultimate cause must perforce have the element of intelligence as no element can give to another element a factor that it does not have.

So do not think about some big daddy sitting in the skies, think an idea, a principle, an element or an equation possessing observable attributes of intelligence, law, order, and beauty. When you think this, then you are staring God right in the face, however defined.

pastor, tudor, i know i've won you over,

Knights! Arthur is back! Where's Lancelot,

Excellent comments guys, esp Prizm, Pastor & my dear Tudor. For me this is getting more interesting.

Let me make something very clear: I AM NOT TRYING TO PROVE THE EXISTENCE OF THE ABRAHAMIC GOD - A BIG DADDY SITTING IN THE SKIES WHO CARES AND LISTENS TO PRAYERS.

I AM TRYING TO PROVE -

1. An Uncaused Cause Exists

2. It is Intelligent

3. It possesses attributes such as law, logic, a sense of order and a sense of the beautiful.

4. The composite picture formed reveals the existence of God - as should be properly understood.

5. That element, even if misrepresented, is the element referred to by established religion as God

huxley:
Hello. Did you see the questions I posted earlier. Here they are again;

So far, the only thing with which we all appear to agree is that the universe is something. There are two other points of contention, namely;

1) Something cannot come out of nothing. Although I accept the fact that the universe did not come from nothing, as it is accepted in cosmology that the universe came out of a singularity, it is not altogether clear whether this (ie, Something cannot come out of nothing) is true in all possible worlds.

2) That the universe is caused. You have not demonstrated this, but simply stated it as a fact. What are the conditions that obtained before the singularity started to expand, thus forming the universe? Is it conceivable that under those conditions uncaused things might have been happening?

Please, address these two points before proceeding to the rest of your arguments, otherwise your fundamental premises are untenable.
.

Huxley: Your fisrt question above takes us back to the first equation. It is true that something cannot come out of nothing and this applies in every possible realm, world, or trajectory. See my previous explanation on this on the first page. Basically, we said even if physical laws do change from world to world, the equation on the zero quantity can never change, because zero refers to nothingness and accordingly there is nothing to change in all circumstances. Your second question i will address by simply saying that once we agree that 0 + 0 = 0, THEN EVEN IF WE ARE NOT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE FIRST CAUSE WAS, IT BECOMES CLEAR THAT THERE WAS ONE.

The job now is to determine its nature!
So there's a basic law of cause and effect yet you somehow make an exception for this uncaused cause god. . . .how funny!
@ Tudor: good question, but as i have said to huxley above, there will perforce be an uncaused cause since we have seen that the things in existence which we see needed a cause. For existence to be, there must be a principle that exists in itself without needing a cause. Think of the number 1 for example. Even if all the universe dissolved today and nothing exists at all - would the idea of "1" cease to exist? Or better still, the idea of zero - nothingness. Can this idea cease to exist? Can it be caused? Can it be created? No, it always was! Even nothingness itself is zero. These are things that cannot not exist - and thus do not need a cause. That's the sort of thing that the Uncauses Cause would be,

Will be back to answer Pastor soon,
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists: Empirical Reasoning For The Existence Of God by DeepSight(op): 11:25pm On Aug 27, 2009
@ pastor aio, the "1" in the equation is not necessarily God, just as the resultant 1 is not necessarily the universe. The equation is really metaphorical: to show that somethingness must be involved in the coming to be of somethingness.

As regards the question of intelligence - would you really compare the water in your kitchen sink to the cosmos? The cosmos is staggering in its beauty, tangents, movements, regeneration and the endless worlds it contains. Our earth, a mere pin prick in the universe, is similarly structured. The composite picture that emerges requires billions of perfectly interlocking relationships to form the resultant world.

I am certain you have seen the image of the eaarth as taken from the moon. Aside from the complex interlocking relationships that support its existence, it is also a spectacular work of art. I would suggest that it is a more stupendous body than water in your kitchen sink.

Is it really possible or logical that we can deny the existence of the element of intelligence, and also a sense of beauty? These elements are perforce attributes of the something that i talked about.

@ tudor, a proper understanding of the equations i set out earlier rules out your suggestion that the universe is itself the cause and intelligence. The basic law of cause and effect demonstrates this.
