mazaje:Mazaje, of all the things you have said this is the most incredible. So once an idea (in this case God) is expressed in a different language, it becomes something else. So if i say "El Presidente", i am not referring to "the president". Careful now. . . dont let the knights begin to doubt your clarity of mind or intelligence. . . |
I have always wondered at people who are not able to address "if" questions. Jack: What if there is traffic on the m25 Peter: What if there is not? Jack: No dumbo, i need you to tell me what you will do if there is traffic there? ? ? Peter: What if there is not? I hope you get the point. Your answer does not address the question, it only seeks to ponder another possibility. You will not make a good general for war. Your soldier: Sir! What if the enemy are encamped over the hill we are heading to. Noetic: What if they are not? ? ? |
@ Krayola - Look, even in pantheistic pagan religions, there has always been the ultimate supremo, go check: In India, Egypt, Greece, Babylon, the pantheon of Gods always had a supremo, the biggest boss amongst them. Who says Zeus cannot be the Greek equivalent of Jehovah, etc |
I only ask - "WHAT IF?" |
And in addittion to Sauron's words, people everywhere have always had a conception of an almighty deity. Even those who have worshipped lesser deities also had such a conception. I wonder why people disturb themselves about the origin of the word "Allah". Do we know for sure the origin of the word "JEHOVAH"? Or Olodumare. Or Chineke? All that's important is that the user of the word has in mind the Creator of the Universe. Come to think about it, i doubt that that entity could be said to have a name in the real sense of it. He surely is beyong appellations like that. |
Olabowale, can you please address the few questions i placed in the thread titled: Abuzola: Questions |
Krayola2:LOL! No, i am most democratic. Just like my great, visionary, charismatic, lively and highly intelligent leader, Umaru Musa Yaradua! |
I really will be interested to know if aliens need to accept Jesus as their personal lord and savior. And if they do not, then why should the Chinese? Or red indians? Isn't it really about different cultures? |
What happens to the red indians who lived in North America for thousands of years and never heard of Jesus or Muhammad. Or the Chinese. Or the Indians? Give me a break! |
Chrisbenogor:No, the argument of faith could never be said to be iron clad, because people can have faith in anything. People even worship idols and animals? So faith is not an argument. It can only be a quiet personal thing. Zero equation only sucks if you believe that something can arise from nothingness, which to my mind is rather absurd. Pre-existing life we explained over and over again is a necessary and not contingent quantity akin to numbers by way of example, which cannot be created but exist inherently. Brother, if you are game, i could go over the explanation all over again. And finally: dont you ever rule out intuition. Its what guides new born mammals to their mother's breats. The same instinct must have worked for you when you were born, so dont sit here and ridicule it. Its real and its powerful. |
My Dear brother Chris - the problem with that thread was that Prizm and i were receiving some very tardy lines of argument from the atheists. All day it went like this - Me & Prizm: "1 + 1 = 2" Atheists: "Define 1!" Me & Prizm: "One is singular." Atheists: "Define Singular." Me & Prizm: "Singular is a lone quantity." Atheists: "Define lone quantity." Etc Etc. Of course it is useless having a discussion in such circumstances. Frankly i was dissapointed because i expected a more intellectually rigorous approach from Tudor, Huxley and the rest. At some point Huxley even asked me to define nothingness. |
Church = Business Establishment Pastor = Congregation = Clients/ Customers Tithe = Fool's money |
For example, some people say: Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and for this reason only those who accept him can be saved. If there are other civilizations out there, do the men (or whatever they are) there require his sacrifice on the cross? Do they even know of him? Could not another emissary of truth be sent to them? Would it not show that even here on earth there could be different emissaries of truth? |
I think any up-to-date person will agree that there are very likely extra-terrestial civilizations elsewhere in the universe. I ask: If it were proved true, would it alter your perception of certain biblical dogmas - E.g: Remission of sins through death on the cross etc. |
Abuzola - Can you clarify the following for me: 1. Is it right to have sex with children? 2. Is it right to take your son's wife as your wife? 3. Is it right to marry a woman you love, and thereafter marry three more? Just seeking clarifications, no stress intended please. Thanks. |
mazaje:@ Mazaje - If you had any intuition, you would sense HIM within you. That's where he should reside, but certainly not in your case. Word of Advise: quick and smart talk will never be a substitute for depth of character. And any deep Character would recognise at the very minimum that these are grave and profound matters which should be solemnly reflected upon, not bandied about in a house of drunkards. And if you are interested in logic - go study the law of cause and effect. Go study Loius Pastuer's experiments on life only coming from pre-existing life. Go study my zero equation. Go study spiral DNA. |
@ Poster - Many years ago people thought the earth was flat. They argued about it. Many years ago people thought the universe revolved around the earth. They argued about it. In summary: the fact that ignorant people quibble about something does not discredit the truth. With appropriate individual or societal advances in knowledge, understanding will ultimately come. By the way, its incredibly stupid to look at the very palm of your own hand, and fail to see intricate and thoughtful intelligent design therein. Aside from all the logic in the world (and there is alot to show), your failure to recognise the existence of an uncaused cause, shows, not only a lack of intelligence, but more crucially, dead perceptive instincts, and a moribund intuition. |
Galilleo lived hundreds of years ago. . . that didnt stop him from assessing quite accurately the solar system. . . Basic logic doesn't change. . . i have more equations for you. . . Coming up soon. . . |
It may take a long time, but these stupid laws will eventually go. Its nothing but gender apartheid. The struggle will go on, and enlightenment will prevail. Discriminatory Bastards. |
I believe to some degree there must be some sort of evolution, although i am convinced it could only have occured under intelligent supernatural direction. Nevertheless, untill you can show me anywhere in the fossil record where there appears a giraffe with a neck half or two thirds the length of the neck of a modern giraffe (in order to show intermediate evolutionary progression), there remain questions to be answered by the Evolution Theory. Are you also able to show fossils with half developed limbs (e.g fish on the intermediate progression into reptiles). Or do you imagine the legs would have sprung out suddenly one sunny day in June. There must be fossils showing intermediate stages otherwise there are problems. . . |
Very well Chris, let us not go back . . . i still think you are not getting it though. . . Any way what do you make of the pictoral analogies above? |
Pastor, this new thread of yours seems rather vague and indeterminate, Whats it about really? You have not defined the issues you wish to address. But i have some general questions for you. 1. What's your perspective of the identities of these people: Jesus of Nazareth, Mohammad the Prophet, Sidhartta Gautama (the Buddha), Abd Ru Shin (wrote the grail message). 2. Do you believe in an after life characterized as heaven and hell 3. If yes, what categories of people will fit where (e.g: only budhists will go to heaven, etc) 4. Do you believe in an immortal soul. 5. What to you regard as being the purose of human life on earth? |
Or this?
|
But this was not ? ? ?
|
And this. . . . Was presumably painted by somebody. . .
|
Krayola2:Remember the point was not simply - its complex so it must have a designer? The point was - Design + Purpose = Verifiable Intelligence. There are already celestial bodies in the cosmos more intriguing than laptops or micro chips. so we needn't wait, Krayola. I know the Micro Chip is designed because it shows structure and purpose. These are the same premises that lead me to assert that the Milky Way Galaxy, for example, is designed. What do you say about the spiral DNA framework. Are you familiar with its workings? Are you aware that its workings far exceed those of the largest computers in existence. If you believe that a computer cannot exist without intelligent design, how reasonable is it to contend that objects of far greater intricacy, structure and design can exist by chance. |
?
|
Okay. So why did you conclude that the Laptop was designed? AND BEFORE YOU TELL ME ITS BECAUSE YOU OBSERVED THAT, WHAT WOULD YOU CONCLUDE ABOUT A LAPTOP OR MICROCHIP THAT YOU FIND ON THE PLANET NEPTUNE? Popped out of nowhere? Or designed? P.S: The mere fact that you have heard an argument before does not mean it holds no water. |
But we will all insist that these simple implements here required intelligent design! Give me a break!
|
What about these cell relationships and functions?
|
And this? ? ?
|
And this cell did not require similar intelligent design? Is it logical to think these things?
